Halloween Cafe

Some spooooooky videos mixed in, when you least expect it.

Owl wearing a wizard hat. He's not thrilled about it, though.

Doggie roll-call.

Cute dog.

He comes standard with his own Halloween costume. "I'm a chitinous sphere!"

Pumpkin squatin', the sport of the future.

Elephant drum circle.

A kiss goodnight.

I'm outta heah!

Cat Robin Hood, I guess?

Cat is dressed as Satan, which might be a little too, what's the word?, on-the-nose for a cat.

Spooooky noooises...

Cat dressed as bunny, and not loving it.

Dancin' shoes.

LOL what does he think he is, Spider-Man?

This morning, I heard three of them, one in front, one about 90 feet east of the 1st one and one to the rear of my bunker.

Does anyone know if only male owls call and hoot or do the females call also?

No, not exactly. Agent "Franks" was ripped to pieces, then patched back together. But didn't become a werewolf. The Elixir of Life required for his continual regeneration tends to reject "foreign" substances, like the pathogen that results in lycanthrope.

85 Tale from the crypped

The first Halloween after we moved to Chicago, we didn’t know whether to expect any trick-or-treaters. Our place was a third-floor walk-up.

Nothing happened, until finally the doorbell rang, “Trick or Treat!” and we buzzed them in.

Three young teen lads tromped up the stairs to our door, where we saw they were in normal street clothes, but looked like they’d been slimed (as they say in Ghostbusters).

I said, what are you guys supposed to be?

They looked at each other and said, “We’re a mess!”

They got all our candy.

(They told us they’d just been attacked by kids throwing eggs – ah, youth.)

We lived in an old neighborhood, houses +,- 100 years old. No yards, with maybe 20 kids on the block. When my kids were young, one year we made a paper mache
head with a balloon, dressed up the rest of the scarecrow, and set in on hale bales about a week before Hallow's eve.

Better than I expected for a rain all day off and on event...I expected most parents to hit the mail trick or treating b/c it was indoors (50 kids is what I get when it's beautiful, so I'll take 30 this year...but mall stores give crappy candy, and my neighbors are awesome, if my kids' bags are any indication. We'd drop it, accompanied by hideous screaming, when vehicles came down our street. Many a slamming on brakes and cussing were heard, to our great amusement. We practically gave our mailman a heart attack when we treated him to a performance as he delivered mail to residences on the other side of our street.

202 The family of the dead woman were wonderful. Her son, a priest, invited my little X to be the altar boy at the funeral. You would have thought HIS Mom died, from their actions (old woman was 90 some odd).
I got him that day, and I ran my rounds of estimates and what-not. I introduced him to each of our customers, and told them what happened, and why he was with me. I cannot tell you how much comfort and good advice and love that little boy got that day.
For 20 years (plus) n some cases, I still got asked how little X was doing.
That entire experience really affected how I viewed most humans.
Largely, we humans are good things.

The character of Igor, the stereotypical Henchman of the Evil Scientist, comes from *this* movie, and I think Igor steals the film from everyone else in it. (Arguably Bela Legosi's best acting performance)

Another notable character -- the German Policeman with the wooden arm comes from this one. It's great fun to watch the first 3 and then watch Young Frankenstein, and you can see how Mel Brooks just did a cut and paste of all the best scenes in these 3.

this is the kinda fed alternate narrative control sheet, that makes me think those 1/6 cops that committed suicide days later (weren't there 2 or 4?) actually could not accept the evil their own cops had done against the innocents on that day ... like firing flash bangs into the peaceful moms/kids behind the barriers, to instigate a reaction, and the murder of two women.

If they were brave they would testify, but the evil forces would make their families pay. Still, weak ...
