5 Boy, this place moves fast. I just finished glancing over MisHum's ONT when, plink, up pops Pixy's Tech Thread.

Morning, all! Stirling and I are up, in my case earlier than I planned.

As for eating bugs: Yesterday, NewsMax ran a documentary hosted by Kevin Sorbo about the insanity of the globull worming and human depopulation movements. They touched on the "eating bugs" notion, and showed a clip of, get this, Nicole Kidman eating a sample of an insect plate. She did not look as though she were eating wagyu beef. She commented that it was like eating "a hairy nut."

Hilarity ensued when I mentioned this yesterday. As it should.

Three to four months for me. Calendar autumn on 9/22 is just like any other hot day, unless it rains, in which case it's just another soggy sticky day.

And, perhaps, their swan song. I used to use ZDNET oh maybe 15 year ago, and I expected a little bloatware added by them if you downloaded software via them (that you could decline if you read carefully and moved slowly thru the install), but it got worserer.

So I stopped using them. Nowadays, every legit place has their own website and ftp. No need for ZD, or VD for that matter.

An infection in either case. Morning, y'all.

Mmmm, leeches. Aktually, there are some 'medical grade' leeches, carefully raised to be parasite free, that are used by surgeons to assist in reattaching body parts that have been cut off. The leeches help reestablish blood flow thru the cut area.

But I'll skip them for dinner.

The local good news is schools are open. The rural schools are focused on not being urban schools.

There are 210 high school students with 20 teachers at the high school. More importantly, cross-country and football starts. Cross-country is to get the legs and endurance ready for basketball.

Most students are in a sport. So they are fit, learn to persevere and how to win/lose with some grace, and are not miseducated as much.

55 In shocking and surprising news, the Leaking Cracked Ships of the Freedom class that were scheduled to be beached next year have risen from Davey Jones' locker to live again.

After months of the Navy brass saying these ships were going away, in July it was announced these ships combining gear to run the jet turbines and diesels will be fixed.

It is supposed to be a 50/50 cost deal between US Navy and Lockheed. So what is the cost to the Navy? Approximately $3 million per hull.

In 206 (68.67%) of the cases, the identified parasites were pathogenic for insects only; in 106 (35.33%) cases, parasites were potentially parasitic for animals; and in 91 (30.33%) cases, parasites were potentially pathogenic for humans.

But but they are getting $3 billion for new EV delivery vehicles thanks to the "Inflation Reduction Act". Batteries made in Chy-na. And let's not forget this bon-bon from February this year --

Taxpayers beware: On February 8, the House of Representatives voted to bail out the U.S. Postal Service (USPS). The legislation adds retired postal workers to the already strained Medicare program, whether they want to join it or not. And it excuses the USPS from having to self-fund the health benefits of its retirees.

Cost to us? $57 billion. LibertyUnyielding.com has details.

USPS cost have destroyed the value of private enterprise.

If you take the cost the USPS has burned through it would literally take the liquidation of UPS or Fedex to cover. Big Govt destroys capital!

I know a young woman, a friend of a friend, who loves to donate her time to excavating the young sea turtles from their burrows so that every last one escapes. When the govmint was sending out money to everyone I donated most of it to RC charities but I also anonymously sent this young woman a very expensive sea turtle bracelet/necklace. So I have fulfilled my quota of random acts of kindness for the next 20 years and can return to my usual grumpy self.
