A group of Indian farmers set up a fake Indian Premier League (IPL) cricket tournament so convincing that they managed to trick a Russian audience into making real bets. According to a report from the Times of India, the fake games took place on a farm in the village of Gujarat, with 21 farm laborers and unemployed teens who were each paid 400 rupees (~$5 USD) and tasked with impersonating “pro” cricket players from well-known Indian teams. The farmers reportedly livestreamed the tournament to YouTube over the course of two weeks and even set up a Telegram channel dedicated to the games. That’s where they took bets from Russian gamblers located in Tver, Voronezh, and Moscow, despite the fact that the actual IPL’s 2022 season closed out in late May.Brilliant. Just fvcking brilliant!

According to her law school bio, Bridges specializes in the intersectionality of class, race and reproductive issues. “We can recognize that this issue [abortion] impacts women while also recognizing that it impacts other groups. Those things are not mutually exclusive, Sen. Hawley,” she said. “I want to recognize that your line of questioning is transphobic and it opens up trans people to violence by not recognizing them as –” she continued. “You’re saying that I’m opening up people to violence by asking whether or not women are the folks who can have pregnancies?” Hawley responded. “I want to note one out of five transgender persons have attempted suicide–” she retorted.

The woman making the argument should be careful. There are laws requiring children under a certain age/weight be strapped into car seats. If the unborn child is a second passenger, the mother can't legally drive until she gives birth.

Heh. On a cruise the ship couldn't go into one of the ports due to rough weather. So, to make it up to passengers the captain allowed everyone to get free cocktails. I sat by the pool sucking down magaritas and got one of the worst sunburns I ever had. It wasn't due to spilling the drink on my skin though. It was because I was friggin' drunk.

My preference would be for a sunset clause on every law - if not renewed every 10 years by an affirmative legislative act, the law expires.
That'd give our legislative betters something to actually do rather than hold press conferences.

As someone who has lived near Austin for about 5 years now, the breakfast taco seems to be very localized to Central Texas. Outside of Austin/SA they're not very common from my travels, but here they're basically ubiquitous. Every gas station has someone making them, and they range from meh to very very good.

Yep. Squeeze 2 limes and add 2 oz. of dry curaçao. shake, rim glass witht salt and enjoy. Easier and much better than any mix. (I think the ratio is 3 oz tequila, 2 oz dry curaçao , 2 oz. lime and if you need it, a pinch of agave.) It's not a mix you can buy at the store but is cheaper, better, and won't give you a sugar hangover.

S-pup: In my opinion, Robert A Heinlein had an even better idea. Basically there was a bicameral legislature where the senior "House" wrote the laws but their Constitution required something like a 75% majority vote to actually get them enacted into formal law.
To balance this, the lower "House" could draft anti-legislation canceling any existing law with only a 51% majority.

We've done that with E-470, when we have to get to DIA quickly, or around Denver to get south. Works pretty well, and it's not actually horrifically expensive. Still, I avoid it most times.

Growing up in MD and VA we called them 7-11s. Moved to Houston and we called them Stop-N-Gos. aka Stop-N-Robs. They are now back to 7-11s. Some are Circle Ks. Bodegas are completely foreign to me.

That's been my goto mix with 1/2 can of Triple Sec. For less powerful drinks, cut the tequila to 2/3 can and the triple sec to 1/3 can; always a 2:1 ratio.

I have them in my jeep, and don't care about them one way or another. As a matter of fact, I usually turn them off. I think remote start is more useful. When I leave from home, I remote start the car and let it run a few minutes. Nice for cold winters, and nice for AC in hot summers.

Only if he caught the beams with his arms, if not he was going all the way through. Once your fall is long enough to get all the way down to your waist nothing is stopping you except grabbing the beams. The first thing, the ceiling looks like it had a ceiling medallion. Real ones are plaster, but this one was one of the plastic ones because you can see where it was glued. If it had a medallion, it had a light, and right where he went through there would be an electrical box and wires, and they aren't in the picture, and they sure as shit would be hanging. I think he removed the medallion, and had removed the light, saw how messed up the sheetrock is under the medallion and was probably going to cut it out anyway, and decided to have fun with the camera.

I am not a fan of remote start. Too many of the aftermarket ones are installed by ignorant apes who make mess of the wiring. And even with the factory ones, your car is running unattended. I was listening to the Ben Smith "interview" of Tucker Carlson on the way back home from the Yard and what a fucking disgrace. Tucker surely got the best shots in but the whole thing was utterly pointless. I mean what was even the point of arranging the bloody thing? These two men clearly hate each other. Ben Smith kept trying to portray Tucker as some kind of racist and Tucker spends most of the time eating up as much time as possible just to mess with Ben. I really felt dumber having listened to it.

Decisions were being made that affected people's lives, and all I was doing was putting the gloss of "data" on it by my cleaning up of format and putting it in order according to a simple format style.
I began thinking of ways to falsify and shade data, to make true things appear insanely stupid, and create the impression that false data was actually true, and could be verified from multiple sources, which of course all came from the same source.
I have always been interested in art and artifact forgery, data forgery is a very interesting field.
This was before easy access to photoshop and image editing by the way. Detecting lying has been a fascination for me.

Some lying is easy to detect, politicians moving their lips, e.g. But what fascinates me is people who lie for the sake of lying. My father was like that, would lie about anything, even little things when lying had no purpose, like telling her to tell the person who called on the phone that he wasn't at home. Every story he told about himself had to be viewed as suspect because, you know, liar. His lying drove my Mom crazy. It's also why I learned early on to say 'I don't know' rather than spout made-up bullshit.

I agree except for food. I went in 1974, September 7 and it was starting to close. Only one dining place left in the northern end and it was chili and beans for breakfast, lunch and dinner. We eventuall y drove into Montana for dinner (best fresh trout I've ever had). It started to snow early morning on the 9th. when still dark and supposedly it was already late. The park was great, animals and pools. It snowed all day and all the way to Grand Junction.

One lefty with YouTube clips of his podcast, Jimmy Dore (used to be with The Young Turks), had some video of Biden from back in the early 1990's when he helped push through the Senate the 'have a quarter-sized amount of crack and go to jail for five years' law. Was proud the judge had no discretion at sentencing and didn't care about the reasons for the crack addiction -- just go to jail for five years. Then he juxtaposed that with clips of his perfect son in a room with a hooker weighing his crystal meth.
To me, that's why Hunter Biden's drug use is a big deal and not just 'a family matter'. FJB was perfectly fine with locking up your family, but doesn't seem so inclined with his self-admitted -- and self-filming -- drug-using own. The absolute pit of hypocrisy. That's what makes Hunter's drug use relevant and newsworthy: His lying son-of-a-bitch of a Dad.

I don't know. Coupled with what his daughter's, Ashley, 'left behind at a halfway house' diary says about her Dad's sexual abuse, Joe has been a pedo for a long time. FJB has never been a principled or good man. The media hyping him as some sort of 'moderate' during the election has got to be one of their biggest lies of 2020. And it worked for (on) far too many people who actually voted for the prick based upon that lie.

And the guy stopping at Starbucks 3 min. before closing wouldn't have been so bad. But his entitled attitude in his postings afterward, that was lousy. He could easily have hit a gas station/convenience store (nowadays they're all pretty much the same thing) and saved some money too.
