128 I found the natural rights topic interesting though I can't speak extensively to the centuries of philosophy involved.

1. The right to a thing is not possession of a thing (natural rights do not imply they can't be violated by force)

2. The right to bear arms might be derived like so. God prohibits unjust killing. This points to a principle right to life. A right to life justifies violence in defense of life. Defense of life being just points to a right to the means of said defense.

So re:2, while God is the ultimate justification for the right to bear arms, it does not arrive immediately or explicitly.

3. Rights, traditional or God-given, help us draw the lines of conflict. Anyone who attacks other humans without cause is a lunatic, but given just cause is not necessarily hostile to anyone besides the one they attack.

Happened on July 1st. Why was her card empty? When do they refill them?
Second question: due to Biden's 21% inflation, when does the government refill my savings account that I've had to deplete? Bet her card gets refilled before my savings account.

I stand by my comment. That's a working class table.

131 This is cubist. While a painting with recognizable imagery, the objects are reduced to basic forms, shapes and colors. Derain seems to be creating both 3D and 2D imagery at once. The shading on the vessels and the perspective on the table clash with the vessels' arrangement on the table and the table's angle. This is very observable with the grey ewer on the far left. The table's perspective is off, too. Look at the angles of the table's two short sides.

Derain is creating a clash of realities, using the elements of art against themselves. He will do more of this when he helps invent Surrealism after WWI.

They can't. I mean they could, but it would crater tax revenue, because normalized interest rates would start to gobble up huge swaths of spending and entitlements.

Interest rates even approaching the inflation rate would mean there is absolutely no money for anything except paying interest on existing debt.

This was the situation in 2009, and it seems dubious that government finances have improved since then. Supposedly about 30 percent of all the USD in existence were issued in the last 2 years. That right there is going to leave a mark

283 Paintings like this are analogous to big, huge, fat Sports Illustrated swimsuit models.

We're constantly being told by our betters that 350 pound women in thong bikinis are strong and brave and sexy and should be celebrated even though much of society prefers thin model-types.

This painting is, objectively, not as good as something with a normal perspective/vanishing point, etc... But the artist painted it so now we need to celebrate his style or vision? No.

I find this no more attractive as a painting than I do a picture of Elsie the Cow in a thong bikini. It may do it for some minority of the population, but not most.

IMHO, modern art is 99% a scam. My daughter double majored in CS and art, and when her profs evaluated her work, they criticized the lack of woke themes. Really. Not the skill in execution, not the perspective, no, it was a lack of lib politics that they disliked. I saw some of the works by other students, and some were so ridiculous I had to restrain myself from laughing, although snorts of derision may have occurred. It was just dull, predictable, pointless nonsense. However, it allows the art cognescenti to sneer at the unlettered rubes who don't get why a pile of tissue on the floor is significant.
