Good morning, kids. Tuesday and yet again, pig-ignorant Fat Albert Speer Whoopi joined the equally dim bulb Sunny Hostin for a duet of pig-ignorance with a soupçon of violence.

“I don’t ask you to subscribe to mine, and you do not have the right based on your religious beliefs to tell me — because what’s next? As Clarence Thomas is signaling, they would like to get rid of contraception. Do you understand, sir? No, because you don’t have to use it.”
“Everything is on the menu now. Contraception is on the menu. Gay marriage is now possibly going to be overturned. Affirmative Action is no more,” cohost Sunny Hostin replied.
“He better hope — we were not in the Constitution either. We were not even people in the Constitution,” Goldberg kept at it.
“He is saying nothing is precedent anymore,” Hostin added.“You better hope that they don’t come for you, Clarence, and say you should not be married to your wife who happens to be white,” Goldberg concluded. “Because they will move back, and you better hope that nobody says, you know, well, you’re not in the Constitution. You’re back to being a quarter of a person because that’s not going to work either.”

Where do I even begin with this? First of all, it was Samuel Alito who wrote the opinion, not Clarence Thomas. Secondly, it is painfully obvious that neither brownshirt Brown-Hilde nor Hostin actually read the opinion because, thirdly, they have never actually read the U.S. Constitution upon which the opinion was based. The other typical leftist black-separatist racist trope about blacks not being in the Constitution aside from being tired and disgusting just underscores an absolute ignorance of history and the founding of the nation.

Meh, all of this is getting into the weeds. The fact is that abortion will still remain legal in a large swathe of the country. It will be up to individual states to decide how it is regulated, if at all, which was the precedent in 1973. But let's not let the truth get in the way of a good blood-libel, or the political expediency of the Left. I wrote last week and it bears repeating. Not only does the intellect and character of Clarence Thomas make the whale with the geriatric Puli hairdo look like an insect, but his life story is a complete negation of every leftist trope about race, racism and indeed their entire political ideology. Sure, they hated Trump but Clarence Thomas is an existential threat to their power, just by his mere existence.

Aside from that, despite losing IQ points every time you tune into The Spew, it is illustrative of the fact that in the main, Leftists do not want a dialogue because to do so openly, honestly and respectfully would be them according our side with a status of both legitimacy and humanity as well as opening themselves up to criticism that would poke holes in their positions you could drive a truck through. In any case, they are now at a level of rhetoric that has depicted us as an evil where even attacks and physical violence are seen as completely justifiable. The political and legal cover given to the attackers means essentially open season on us.

Barking out shit like these two slags is merely parroting Joey Sponge-Brain Shits-Pants when he declared we were going to "put y'all back in chains!" It's a very short trip from hearing that to getting into an SUV and mowing down revelers at a Waukesha Christmas parade, or hurling Molotov cocktails at pregnancy centers and churches.

The Arizona Department of Public Safety reported that a pro-abortion rally by "an estimated 7,000 to 8,000 people" turned into "anarchical and criminal actions by masses of splinter groups" who "attempted to breach the doors of the Arizona Senate and force their way into the building. The violence of their efforts literally shook the building."
The statement reported that “the glass doors bowed from attempts of forced entry” and noted damage to a variety of war memorials including those honoring murdered police officers and veterans of the Korean War and the War on Terror.
"Violent pro-abortion protester attempts of an insurrection at the Arizona State Senate were thwarted Friday night, thanks to the swift action from local and state law enforcement," the Arizona Republican State Senate Caucus stated in its press release.
“They were aggressively banging on the windows in a way that at any moment it could break,” Senator Michelle Ugenti-Rita said. “This wasn’t a knock on a window.”
The Arizona Abortion Insurrection was one of a number of violent abortion riots around the country incited by top Democrats.
"The hell with the Supreme Court,” Rep. Maxine Waters had ranted at a rally. "We will defy them."
In Los Angeles, insurrectionists took her seriously.
In Los Angeles, an abortion insurrectionist was charged with the attempted murder of a police officer after attacking a cop with a torch, described as a "makeshift flamethrower", and leaving him with burns.
Other abortion insurrectionists threw rocks, fireworks and bottles at police.
Rep. Alexandria Ocasio Cortez raved that the Supreme Court was "illegitimate" and urged protesters to get "into the streets".
That's what they did in New York City. In Manhattan, insurrections besieged conservative organizations. There was an alleged arson attempt at the Women’s National Republican Club and chants of "Burn it down" outside FOX News. . .
. . . The Left has built a complicated political machine with many moving parts in which massive hijacked foundations direct money through numerous pipelines to smaller seed groups, leftist organizers moonlight as non-profit activists or fellows during the day while organizing riots at night, and meaningless names like Antifa, BLM or Jane’s Revenge are used to cover up the larger ideological organizations and operations that are running things behind the scenes.
A congressional committee empowered to investigate, compel testimony, and force the handover of information is needed to follow up on the work of conservative journalists. It is vitally important that the public understand that the violent riots in the streets are being funded by the same donors whose organizations set the political agenda for the Democrats.
The “insurrection” is coming from inside the house.
The Abortion Insurrection is the latest in a series of leftist riots being conducted by the same players using rotating pretexts. The attack on the Arizona State Senate was an attempt to intimidate and disrupt a legislative session, and to penetrate the building. It ought to be investigated and broken down as an insurrection and a component of a larger strategy.

So, let us assume, then, that this "red wave" swamps the Left in 2022 and again in 2024. Does anyone really think that those who incite acts of real physical violence directly or by continually spouting out the blood libels of American institutional racism, misogyny, homophobia and evil capitalism are going to suddenly think "Gee, maybe we were wrong?"

Overcoming the cheat and voting these fiends the hell out of office at every level is for sure vitally important. But the problem we are facing is an absolute existential threat. And it's going to take a whole lot more than just elections to excise this cancer.

They had two years to do anything they wanted to, 2009-2010 when obama was president. They had control of Congress with a super majority in the Senate, they could have codified roe with a simple one page bill during that time but they did not.

They could have done everything on the liberal wish list, $15 minimum wage, assault weapons ban, medicare for all, they literally had complete control of the executive and legislative branches along with a leftish leaning supreme court and they could have passed anything but they didn't.

At the state level, it's a good start. It depends on three things: the governor, the AG and the local DA. The state SoS might be a factor, too, depending on how things go.

You need the local DA to actually be able to go after the individual terrorists. You need the AG to set statewide policy and provide air cover to the DAs when the lefty blowback happens. You need the governor to run interference against the feds who will descend to defend and protect the terrorists, and you might need the SoS as a lieutenant to the governor to apply additional pressure, file lawsuits, etc.

Those four offices, minimum, are needed to make the cops go after the terrorists and keep the enablers at bay.

In the non-ideal case, step 3 is skipped. The lesson in this, I think, is that *all* agencies, no matter what and no matter how important, should have a sunset in their charters. No agency should exist for longer than 15 years before it expires and must be replaced.

Expression of rights is not mandatory. You have the right to speak, but you don't have to speak. You have the right to remain silent, but you don't have to.

But the government is the guarantor of rights, so what happens if there is a "right" to abortion but nobody wants to provide one? It's a "right," isn't it? Doesn't *someone* have to provide it in that case? The government *must* guarantee the right. Do they draft doctors and compel them? Force military doctors to do it? What are the penalties for refusal? Prison? Expropriation? Death?

Fundamentally, this is why "positive rights" are so dangerous. You cannot have a *right* to another person's produce. If you do, the state has to make sure you get it, whatever the cost. "Positive rights" are a subtle form of slavery.

I recently got a new doctor. Told him that my cholesterol would be high and that I don't care. He talked about the American Heart Association and how they'd done studies. I explained that I've had pretty much every test known to man and I have 0 heart disease. High cholesterol, 0 heart disease. Then he talked about how the standards of care were written based on averages - which I already knew - and I explained that I wasn't average and shouldn't be treated like I am.

The American healthcare system is broken. Too much government involvement. Too much business involvement. Not enough caring.

I'll pile on to the praise train. It stood out to me, too, and he wrote it in plain language and was very clear and to the point with it. No elaborate constructions or couching, just a straightforward "this was the wrong decision, we're fixing it, this is not for us to decide because this is not our authority based on our charter and this game is now over." It left no wiggle room, and marks one of the few - and certainly the biggest - reversals of the acquisition of federal power during my lifetime.

If they had read the political room, they would have compromised a long time ago on certain restrictions on an act that everyone, fundamentally, knows is a bad one.

But no. Like the slavers in the 1850's they had to expand and expand and expand. Abortion isn't bad, it's great! Your conscience exception is meaningless. If you're in med school, you can't opt out of abortion training. If you're a Catholic hospital, you must provide services. You can have an abortion not just at full term, but if the baby is born alive it can be allowed to die.

And much like Covid, the problem with statin-pushing has been the complete lack of risk/benefit stratification in the treatment. Particularly the frail /elderly are way overprescribed and generally "chasing numbers" in cholesterol when the focus for their care should be to increasing protein, fatty acids, building muscle mass --but chasing down cholesterol numbers with bird diets and taking statins is entirely the wrong direction for them.

Considering that the flag of the UFP is a modified version of the UN flag, that makes a certain amount of sense.

I could also see that it would be easy for the showrunners to model an interstellar alliance around an existing model like the UN, rather than try to come up with something original. The audience can see the resemblance, nod their heads in agreement, and move on.

Didn't the ACA more accelerate an existing trend? There was a ton of consolidation and aggregation into networks underway well before the ACA, if memory serves. The payer (insurance companies) got big and started dictating terms, so the payee (doctors) got big and confederating so they could dictate terms, too?

And you raise an interesting point. Dobbs is a modest outcome simply returning power to where it belongs but an argument could be made that the unborn are deserving of equal protection under the law. I believe the Texas law giving rise to the original Roe decision did just that requiring medical review that the mothers life was threatened before permitting an abortion.

Right. For now, at least, both the "total ban" and "no restrictions, ever, for any reason" are fairly unpopular positions. But when push comes to shove, I suspect that more people in that middle zone would prefer a total or near-total ban rather than unfettered access up to the moment of birth. The latter is an untenable and monstrous position, even for those who think abortion should be permitted in some cases.

Let me start off with...I am not a doctor. During my discussion with my doctor, I opined that high cholesterol wasn't an issue, it was an indicator of an issue. He asked, "what issue?" I said, "I don't know, I'm not a doctor and no one else seems to care."

It's like chasing A1C for diabetes. High blood sugar is a symptom. Clearing up the symptom without addressing the cause accomplishes nothing good.

But as to high water marks; I'd have to say the Great Steal in November, 2020 will go down as the all time great high water mark of the Left, and of the Uniparty. At my last firm we were seriously discussing how to re-start apprenticeship for engineering. Literally do in-house training for prospective engineers rather that take the crappy results of the university system.

Start them as draftsmen and have our own classes.
