38 Before you all head out and enjoy your weekend, the CDC has been gracious enough to pass along some tips for avoiding monkeypox transmission (link in URL):

● Have virtual sex with no in-person contact.
● Masturbate together at a distance of at least 6 feet, without touching each other and without touching any
rash or sores.
● Consider having sex with your clothes on or covering areas where rash or sores are present, reducing as
much skin-to-skin contact as possible.
● Avoid kissing.
● Remember to wash your hands, fetish gear, sex toys and any fabrics (bedding, towels, clothing) after having sex.
● Limit your number of partners to avoid opportunities for monkeypox to spread.

Spoke to my dad the doc, and he said the symptoms I described (sudden nausea, dizziness and profuse perspiration) can be an involuntary autonomical reaction to a sudden shock, usually occurring after a sudden injury or the like. We have no clue what could have triggered it, but that was the reaction my body had. I had no symptoms of anything like heart issues (and I had a nuclear stress test a few months ago that said my heart was quite healthy), so it's a mystery. I slept well and felt fine today. One ear, or both? My wife completely lost her hearing in one ear back in December. Just woke up one morning, and nothing. Took her to urgent care, where they thought it was earwax. But there was no improvement after they cleaned it out. They should have put her on an antibiotic immediately, but she didn't get that until she could see an ENT a week later. In any case, it didn't help. Nor did injections into the eardrum.

Rats and Fleas (Plague) may well have killed more than just about anything other than skeeters, pretty sure. Right up there anyway. Maybe not as many as leftists. Various Governments around the world are estimated to have killed 100 to 200 million in the 20th Century not counting the wars that were no slouch in this regard. They were all different flavors of collectivist, totalitarian societies.

No presumption of innocence
No rights of the accused
No freedom to Worship as you please
No right to Liberty or Private Property
No right to Self Defense

Remember what Americans have is almost unique in self-governance. That's why they want to kill it, instead of spreading freedom and liberty around the world, they are importing misery and anarchy here. Don't ever forget that

Having a physical for first time in ages, thinking of asking the doc for an EKG. No "reason", but as a screening test. Never had a hint of cardio issues.

This "physical" has consisted of, en toto, a blood draw and talking with the doc (mostly about US mortality stats, and his daughter's work in intellectual property law, and a bit about vaccine efficacy, though I was cautious about getting too much into that since he's generally OK and the boss likes him and I don't want to have to dump him for another doc). Pro football has a very strict and formal injury reporting system. My impression is that baseball has something similar, if less strict.

Roundball, I have no idea.

But unless it's changed, hockey was amusingly different, in that injury info was very closely guarded Top Secret info (anything short of something big/obvious that scratched somebody from a line-up). Part of the strategery. Always liked that. You don't know whose left arm to make sure to give a shot with your semi cross-check, etc.

284 I'm wondering why the doctor (barber surgeon; whatever) couldn't set the arm & use a traditional splint?

*******

A splint or primitive cast would be more likely with a non-dissplaced fracturre. For a compound fracture, internal fixation is typically needed (or prolonged traction).
I'm wondering if the whole thing might be a hoax. To get a copper sheet that looks maybe 2-1/2 to 3 inches long wrapped entirely around the bone adjacent to the bone surface would require extensive tissue dissection, essentially flaying the arm down to the bone, while navigating muscle fibers, tendons, arteries, nerves. Modern day internal fixation generally uses a plate bridging the fracture that is then pinned or screwed to the bone on either side of the break. Not wrapping all the way around. Elaborate hoax has to be considered.

I can understand the copper part - its oligodynamic (anti-microbial) properties. One good natural way to fight infection.

In deed, our ancestors were far smarter than us moderns. Many people slap on worthless face diapers and shoot themselves up with crap that will kill them with heart-attacks and strokes to avoid a mild disease that has a 99.98% recover rate.

The people back then use oligodynamic metals like silver rather than stainless steel or plastic for table ware; they used brass doorknobs and coins made in biocidal metals rather than the disease spreading materials we insist upon using today.

The Roman legions are considered to have had better medical care than the US Civil war armies, the Romans had a vague, pragmatic understanding of sterile treatment and liked to use silver staples instead of sutures when they could use them. They relied heavily on Greek learning, and of course adopted what they could

304 Well, I am getting tired. Going to get an early one. Haven't seen Publius tonight. For the record, I found the fault in the line drop to the shop. Right at the service pole, one of the hots is severed. Viewed through binoculars, the severed end looks melted. Guessing the wind, +/- tree limbs, caused it to chafe against the neutral, and arced through. There is also a "bird's nest" of single-strand wire at the top of the riser on the pole that feeds the drop to the shops. I have no clue what that is about.

I've been searching for more information on Ol' Copper Arm:

It's the upper arm, i.e. the humerus -- not the forearm... The broken end is the top of the bone where it would meet the shoulder... The fracture and the plate would have been just above the elbow!

There are three rivets in the plate joining the overlapping edges -- if one zooms in on the pic, they are clearly visible...

You are the 'other', unclean.

Having to wear a face diaper, plus being unvaxxed, is the main reason I see my doctors as often as I should, nor as often as they would like.

My primary care doc tried to scare me into the jab back in March, telling me horror stories of her mandatory stint in the ER during the crush of cases back in 2020; 'I saw a patient die right before my eyes and I could do nothing!' When I told her about the side effects covered up with the jab, how the government lied, etc., she told me, 'I don't want to get into the politics of it.' Well, Doc, the COVID-1984 government response, including house arrest for the healthy, mandatory face diapers and multiple jabs to keep one's job, were all political. As more bad side effects come out (and I'm a cardiac patient!), she talks about me getting the jab less.

But I really hate this whole fucking nonsense with a purple passion. I've seen a world run by Karens and Kens, and I don't like it, not one bit.

Of course its a rare bolt pattern(5 bolt on 4") Scored a shitty rim and usable tire for $10, cobbled a template together and drilled proper bolt pattern and got it home...anybody know what cars used that bolt pattern so I can find a couple of rims? I dont want change bolt pattern if I can avoid it.

I've also rotated my tires every so often, but I don't know what the point is. I jack each wheel up, spin the tire a few rotations and then put it back down.

I can't see any benefit to it, really.

If you fail to do it as you describe, then every tiny road hazard puts the exact same damage, in the exact same spot, on the front AND rear tire of that side. Said rotation evens out the wear and tear.

A lot of the older A body mopars, like valiants and swingers had that pattern. I can't remember when it went away, it was a while back. I would guess if you look around there still has to be some kicking around, especially since dudes would, and still are upgrading the ones they hotrod to 5 on 4.5 so they can do modern disk brakes and have a better rim choice.

I push back more than I ever did before. Docs don't like patients who push back. Have to be careful, though, as doctors, like lawyers, can drop quarrelsome patients (clients). Since getting old sucks, I blame my cantankerousness on being an old fart.

But to answer your question in a serious manner, it depends on the Doc and this primary care Doc lost so much 'authority' that I'm not sure she'll ever get it back.
Maybe an apology for being right about the jab and the politics of the whole nonsense would be a good start. But I don't see that happening. So I now take her medical advice with a grain of salt because, you know, I'm going to die some day anyway. Not a good reaction but there it is.

Trump may be "fouling the air of democracy" but he's a fucking breath of fresh air for the Republic.

Of course FJB is doing better than Trump, FJB doesn't do mean tweets and Trump's tweets are, well, catastrophically and humiliatingly mean. Can't have such honesty in a government official, even the President. Let's face it, a guiding principle of the founding of this country was safe spaces. Even Ben Franklin answered as to what our government is saying, 'A safe space, if you can keep it.'

Going back to his early political career, Joe Biden was always a mean, nasty son of a bitch. Now he's a mean, nasty, old son of a bitch. And a proven liar. I still have a hard time understanding how the corporate media was able to rehab him of being a liar after his withdrawal from the 1988 Democrat presidential primaries for plagiarism, which is fancy academic-speak for lying.

While our government is out of control, blatantly waging war on We the People, the crux of the matter is that we have a failure of our Fourth Estate to do their jobs (comfort the afflicted and afflict the comfortable), not the jobs they think they should do (change the world). Without a free press holding government accountable for its abuse of power and corruption, there is simply no hope for our Representative Republic to continue to exist. We may stagger along on fumes from our past, but eventually we will fall and our noble experiment in self-government dies. What comes after is anybody's guess.
