The Morning Rant: Minimalist Edition

punk-monkey.jpg

Oh look, traitorous elites who have no political philosophy other than the acquisition of wealth and influence! They call themselves "Republicans" because the Republican party loves their money and doesn't much care that their goals will lead to the destruction of America and American Exceptionalism, the greatest success story in the history of Man.

GOP Donors Twist Arms On 'DREAMER' Legislation, 'Makes Economic Sense'

Now, a group of GOP donors are beginning to also smell squishiness, and are pressing Republicans to reach a “deal “with Democrats on illegal immigration, specifically, granting permanent legal immigration status to so-called “Dreamers.”

A group of roughly 14 Republican donors who billed themselves as “life long Republicans,” will reportedly send a letter to Republican leaders in which they stated that coming to an agreement with Democrats on the status of Dreamers “makes economic sense.”

What the hell does that mean..."reach a deal on illegal immigration?" How about simply enforcing the law and kicking their asses back to wherever they came from? But let's move on to the real turd in the punchbowl..."makes economic sense."

Bullshit. Adding potentially millions of poorly educated people to the employment pool does one thing...it depresses wages. And to top it off, the amount of public assistance these potential employees consume is mind boggling. They use emergency rooms instead of doctor's offices for routine care, they enroll in every public assistance program in existence (aided by left-wing religious groups, Democrat NGOs, and even the government itself), and when they do work they are comfortable working off the books so that law-abiding people are priced out of those jobs.

The goal of these so-called "Republicans" is a compliant labor force that will accept low wages to improve the bottom line of their businesses, while forcing the public to pay for most of their benefits.

This is classic privatizing profit and socializing losses, and it is hugely damaging to America. But they don't care. And they are willing to buy the votes necessary to accomplish their goals, most obviously by paying off Mitch McConnell and Kevin McCarthy. This is one of the significant evils in our country, and these people -- perhaps as much as the hard left and their long march through our institutions -- are responsible for much of the decay in traditional American society, and the destruction of our economy. Shifting manufacturing to the Far East, diluting the labor markets, opening our borders: all of these things diminish not only our economy but our cohesiveness as a people, as a culture, as an idea.

Any business group that does not explicitly reject the idea of immigration reform is a de facto supporter of the destruction of America. Don't be fooled by their high-minded names: the US Chamber of Commerce hates you and wants you poor. Business Roundtable? Sounds like they would be the good guys! Nope. They want to flood America with foreign workers, and fire you, but not before you train your replacement.

MAGA isn't just a slogan. It encapsulates everything that these people despise, and that explains the all-encompassing attacks on anyone who has the temerity to push back against these globalist sharks who want to gut America in service of their wealth and influence.

But at least we don't have mean tweets!

Adam Smith wrote this 250 (almost) years ago and nothing has changed, because human nature is unchanged. Business leaders cannot be trusted because they are always looking to advance their interests, illegitimately, at the expense of the public. (Instead of raising prices, it's lowering wages, but it's the same cause.)

Then, pissed off at that, they threw down the ramp at the highest noisiest level possible, then fired up the tractors, weed whackers, and leaf blowers in unison like they were deploying at Normandy Beach. This is 220 plus feet from my house but their easement is only 50 feet from the bedroom window of a night shift ER doctor who usually returns home around 6 am. Yes, the GOP is full of squishes and quislings, but they are still better than the Dems, if for no other reason than that, once installed, they're going to want to keep their cushy jobs. Since they're our rascals, that gives us leverage going forward. If the Dems win, we have none. Progress will be incremental, but if you doubt that it happens, all you need to do is compare the party of '15 with that of today.

They want slaves, just like their Democrat ancestors. And the illegal alien system *is* a slave trade. How do these dirt-poor peasants afford to cut a check for $5k or $10k or even more to cartel coyotes to get them over the border? How do they afford to march en masse to the border in the first place? They can't. They do it on credit. The cartels front the cost. The cartels are paid back via remittances.

Go El Norte, work for peanuts, live 12 to a room and send half your pay back home "for your family." Your family will keep a bit of it and send the rest to the friendly cartel man. And if you don't send the money, they'll kill your family members until you do. After all, you left them there as hostages.

The system is, at best, a structure of illegal and inhumane indenture but it's close enough to a slave trade that I'll call it what it is. And that doesn't even cover the drugs and weapons.

Some insight and recommendations
1. Live in a township and avoid income tax.
2. Don't live in a county with a sizeable city (
3. Expect about half your property taxes to be for schools
4. If you live in a county with a sizeable city, many line items will be "county" but a truly for the city
5. Comparing my property taxes (in a township, in a county with a city having a population of 190K) to my poor old gray haired mother (in a township with largest town about 26K) her taxes are about 14% less (her taxable value is $16K higher than mine). Her annual tax is around $2500 and mine around $2800. She's got twice the house, a barn, a detached garage, and over twice the land.

It makes even less sense than that.
Our Betters are always telling us and, in fact, working on robots and computers that will make all of these jobs, which illegals do, obsolete in the near future. And many middle class jobs, now done by human beings, will go away too.
They also keep pushing this guarranteed income of $150/yr.
All I can figure is that, their "Great Reset" figures into to it like this.
They Cloward-Piven the US into energy-poor poverty. Seize all 401K, etc (-they always talk about this)
Middle and Working Classes gutted and destroyed.
We're (not them) are all equal now with our $150K/yr stipend to sit around and get stoned as easily controlled computers and robots do all "our" work.
Since everyone gets $150/yr, $150K is the new functional zero.
No one can afford anything, much less kids,
Population shrinks to new Gaia-friendly size.
Sounds like bad dystopian fiction, but it's all I can figure if you put all their stupid wants and plans together.

The vision is that the peasants will live in efficiency apartments and survive on the UBI handouts from the central power, which will be spent at captive monopolies. The monopolies will be fed by the UBI, and it will be fed from two sources: the top tier of wealth-owners (the monopolists, essentially, who will pay it because it keeps them in power) and the sizable middle group of engineers and technicians who keep the automation, robots, AI, etc. running.

The peasants will live their meager lives and escape to the Metaverse to live an ersatz life. The top tier will live as they do now, but with greater exclusivity. The middle group will live quite well.

This is insane for a number of reasons. The two likely outcomes are large-scale opt out, which becomes Mad Max outside the pods as they all vie to rule the wasteland. The other is that the middle group realizes that they ought to make the top tier kiss the ring (the March Count problem).

It is part of the leftist religion that open borders are sacred. The left does often turn on a dime on certain things (foreign adventurism being one), but there are pillars that seem immovable.

Open borders is one of those things that's so deeply ingrained in their heads that it can't be turned off instantly or quickly. America is racist and must pay for its racist sins by taking care of the brown people of the world. It's just their truth.

It's not a healthy sign, regardless of how late they are or their conclusions.

I remember driving up the road with my dad, maybe in 2014 or 2015. Pre-Trump. There was a news story on the radio about a poll that showed that around 20% (IIRC) of survey respondents though that a new civil war was "possible" or "likely" in the United States.

I commented at that time that the result of the survey was unimportant, but the survey itself was not. It doesn't matter so much if 10% or 60% of people think a civil war is brewing. It's much more relevant that the question is being seriously asked and studied. If you get to the point where you want - or even need - to ask that question, the civil society is already broken.

It is more likely the final trigger of outrage will be provoked by the subtle and unseen. 207 Republicans, or should I say conservatives, really need to wean themselves from the worship of large corporations. The days when big corporations were champions of free enterprise are long over. They are now enthusiastic supporters of big government, which their superior clout allows them to manipulate to their benefit, freezing out smaller competitors.

Yes, everything else being equal, one should favor less government interference over more. But 90 years after FDR was first elected, the economy is tangled in a hopelessly convoluted mass of regulations so that sometimes new regulations are needed to correct past mistakes and to curtail the worst excesses of big business's alliance with big government. Government has learned to use corporations to do their dirty work because private business is not obligated to respect your rights.

And so things are usually not equal but rather weighted heavily in favor of big corps. The pandemic only accelerated this process, and the woke revolution has further entrenched corporations on the side of big government.

Conservatives should promote free enterprise and small business, not crony capitalism and bloated corporations.

Brooks fell far behind when Durant entered the race. Trump pulled his endorsement because he feared Brooks couldn't win. He trashed Brooks as "going woke" to try to make himself look better.

While I was waiting for my wife to be done with her colonoscopy I was walking around the Medical City Plano hospital. There were signs everywhere in both english and spanish that said you can't be denied treatment even if you can't pay or based on your immigration status. There was a phone number on the signs to call if you felt you have been denied treatment for any of those reasons.

Illegals go to the emergency room for routine treatment stuff and they clog them up big time because of that. Plus the hospital never gets a dime from any of them.

Are you aware that thousands of American citizens working in the tech industry have been forced to train their replacements brought in from other countries who are willing to be paid far less than them, and then these Americans are fired?

And you say it's not zero-sum. Maybe not all of it, but that is no consolation to these now-jobless Americans forced out of one of the highest paying industries.

300 The elites who make these policies and the affluent white liberals who support them can afford to insulate themselves from the consequences. They live in rich gated communities, send their children to expensive private schools and drive around in their $90k Teslas, never setting foot on public transportation. What do they care if the filthy proles have their communities destroyed, die of overdoses out in flyover country and get stabbed by vibrant diversity on the subway?

These people fully intend to throw us to the fucking wolves and reduce our neighborhoods to third world favelas so they can continue ethnically replacing us with more compliant slave laborers.

304 I guess they figure the Red Tsunami is inevitable so they can shit on the base.

This, plus gun control, means that while I won't vote Dem, I might just stay home this November. I doubt I am alone. The GOPe could fuck up a wet dream.

307 "14 Republican donors who billed themselves as 'life long Republicans'"

Remember that Republican =/= "conservative" for a very long time. It means - when speaking of the politicians and big-wigs - Progressives who just think it should be slower and with lower taxes.
