2 Good Morning Morons. Today is Saturday, April 30. On this day in 1803 the United States purchased the Louisiana Territory from France for $15 million, more than doubling the size of the young nation. Critics were ready to impeach the President over this so-called waste of money for which they said he had no power to do.

Everybody knows the NYT is a chronic liar. But the so-called experts blame all kind of other crap like the Corona crap lock-downs and the so-called pandemic.

The fact of the matter is that look where almost all of the violent crimes occur. They occur in the Democrat run big cities where law enforcement is lax and most felons get off scot-free. The answer, quit voting for Democrats, sure you will get more free money; but some un-jailed felon will just kill you and take it.

Don't forget the pharmaceutical industry. Willowed:

IIRC, Paxlovid is the drug that Pfizer modeled after Ivermectin. Because Ivermectin was out of patent, they needed a new drug to make another zillion dollars. IMO, Ivermectin is a preventative, as it assists zinc entering the cells.

93 There are a lot of small dairy and horse farms around me. I can always tell the good ones from the bad ones. Some smell like fifty dead rats in the tank of a forgotten port-a-john two weeks after the festival, others smell almost nice, with an earthy, sweet, composty sort of smell. Bucolic, even.

It's all down to the hygiene of the farmer, i suppose. Let your animals live in filth and eat garbage feed, and they'll smell like grim death the day before bath day. Treat them well, and they'll smell like they're supposed to.

I'm starting to see a bunch of low- budget Barnette yard signs sprouting up here and there. One or two commercial looking Mccormick signs at intersections, but never on anyone's actual property. Zero oz signs anywhere.

I would really like to understand the reasons for Kemp's popularity in Georgia. He did a terrible job in the last election and there's zero to suggest that's changed. Perdue doesn't exactly seem inspiring and Trump's personal issues with Kemp and the election doesn't seem like a winning strategy. I also wonder if Kemp has what it takes to beat Abrams. But I think Perdue would put that more at risk. A little bit of a Hobson's choice.

There are such things as "100-year floods." I notice every time one happens, it's now "climate change" not just the fact that there are natural fluctuations in weather that are well-documented.

Also: badly maintained infrastructure. We had a flood a couple of years ago that rivaled The Great Flood of '78 or something. So, just like then, people actually started cleaning out the storm drains and maybe rethink building on a known flood plain.

If the incumbent is below 50 percent, it's a loss. Doesn't matter what the spread is. That's the traditional rule.

Unless its an open seat, undecideds typically don't like the incumbent and will break heavily to the challenger. Only an epic screwup will cause them to 'come home.'

Honestly, given the overall dynamic, this should be a heavy GOP year by default. And the cheating is going to be a lot harder because people will be watching for it, looking for clear, obvious, indisputable proof.

A surprise tactic is only a surprise once.

My mother decided to sell her house and move into a retirement community apartment because of the interest rate hikes. She said that the housing market is going to correct in a big way when interest rates return to what used to be normal.

She sold the house in 2 days in March, so good timing.

I could not agree more. While it's a lifetime away I don't see any move towards the slightest adjustment in policies. The only ones doing that are senators in SE or border states like Arizona, Nevada, etc. who are getting killed on the illegal
Immigrant open border issue. They're trying to show they care, but it's a fraud and people know it. If the status quo remains through the summer this continues to be good for Republicans. We are seeing a lot of movement towards new and a very diversified voter base.

So what that says is that Warnock is cooked. His ceiling is 46 percent. Always look at elections as a referendum on the incumbent. If you see a race where the incumbent is ahead but still under 50 percent, they are in deep doo doo.

Sure, but this is the perfect test case for the supposition that blacks are getting fed up with the Donk party and are becoming, at the least, GOP curious.

You have two black candidates in an ostensibly conservative state.

I bet Walker gets 60 plus pct white support and 10 pct black support as is typical.

Walker may win but it will be a nail biter.

I get political people going door to door here in savannah. They have all been anti-warlock. Some pro-life, some just social/culture conservative. You can't walk 100 feet in savannah residential without going back and forth white/black folk houses. So the lunkheads have finally realized that traditional sensible themes don't care what your skin color is. No I'm not saying there will be a big change in black voting. But someone is spending a lot of money on a broad voting drive involving ideas and culture and not my side/there side and extending it across societal boundaries. I haven't seen this before.

That assumes there's a plan, and at least some direction being given from somewhere. I don't think so, and agree with your first paragraph - there is no authority running this country anymore, just a pack of dysfunctional clowns stealing as much as they can, while they can. Which is why I think the country is just going to sleepwalk into November with everything on auto-pilot.

unless Biden gets the Russkies to nuke DC of course.

What everyone said but also there is the fact that as a result of their haphazard stumbling actions they win. They win consistently, effortlessly, and in their eyes predictably. For all of their lives they've won. This should lead them to error, specifically survivor bias error. We're all alluding to how this would manifest itself in their laziness and inability to adapt. But it hasn't.

Maybe the timeframe of change is so much bigger than what we can perceive and we're missing it and what can't continue suddenly doesn't. I would be surprised because things seem stagnant. Or maybe there is something more dynamic behind the scenes driving the success of the left and we can't see it.

I don't know.

There still are Conservative congregations, but the word "conservative" basically applies to ritual, as it always has. One can be a total leftist and keep kosher and observe the holidays to the tiniest detail. These things are not mutually exclusive.

Yes, I know it's not about politics but the form and rules, I just wondered if it was still a going concern.

Conservative Judaism (as I understand it) was somewhat analogous to Methodism - not as rigid as Catholicism or High Church Anglicanism, but still preserved many of the features and form of the Mass as opposed to the type of services used by Baptists.

As we've seen, the Mainline Protestants have gone full woke, so I wondered if Conservative Judaism still had a following. The sense I got in the 80s was that it was still a going thing, but then again, so were the Methodists.

None. Best estimate I read was that it mainly exists to pump out millions of free dollars to Biden's political allies and function as a part of the Dem's political campaigns, and also to provide talking points for the MSM.

It looks to me like a pure grift operation, classic Dem creation.

So yeah, it does have a following, but it's increasingly woke. Reform however is full tilt "theology=sociology", and it's breathtaking.

Oh dear LAWD please not Texas. We don't need the crazies. Fuck Twatter.

But it's going to be Texas. It's Musk's new home, practically. They're building a huge Tesla plant south of Austin. Between that and SpaceX it would make sense for Musk to keep everything together. And I do get this teensy little perverse thrill at the thought of stripping Failifornia of some of its Silicon Valley prestige. But the the crazies aren't worth it.
