Ugh. I have a client who's sniping at the work I did for them. I'm slightly to blame but I also did the best I could with what they gave me.

At least there's a project manager between them and me. Although he may hate my guts by the time this is over. That'll teach me to take on an assignment outside of my usual art area.

When the USS Bonefish was sinking and all but three of the crew were in the water, the USS Carr dropped five life raft containers to help them. 3 of the 5 sank out of sight. The rescue helos that arrived had a very busy time.

3 of the USS Bonefish crew did not make it out as it sank.

The sad thing about that one and the peanut butter listeria outbreak is: those are horrific breaches of food safety. Listeria only lives in soil or ground water. So, the only way it can get into your food is by contamination (usually from a roof leak onto open product) which should never, ever happen. Product shouldn't ever be open where a leak in the roof can get into it- that's how you design your process and STILL watch for roof leaks everywhere. Shut everything down and clean if you find a leak that might even come close to product.

It was a website a long time ago internet wise. More than twenty years ago. It had a Java based physics engine that allowed you to build contraptions with "soda straw" like connectors hence the name. I first heard of it in the late 90s. It got pretty big around 2000. You could make your own contraptions in the simulation and share the code with everyone. All the things you built looked exactly like those weird things on the beach in that video.

You should get aztecs with synaesthesia. I was lucky enough to see him when he was touring his second album in late '78, I was about 15' away from him (can't remember the name of the place in SF down by the Embarcadero). He had a couple of bourbons at the beginning of the set, but then started drinking glasses of water. We were probably an hour into the show when I realized it wasn't water, but vodka. He fell off of his piano bench at one point, but damned if he didn't put on a hell of a show and other than falling on his ass didn't miss a beat. Poor guy had some serious demons for a while. Oh, and FUCK CANCER.

as a young e5 sergeant, i toyed with an army major for three or four hours, like a cat with a wounded mouse, over a ts page with that on its back side. front was inventoried, back wasn't. dude was supposed to be a eucom nuclear surety technical inspector, but coukdn't tell me how many pages were in the manual. so how was i supposed to know if his bs message was authenic for release or not. one star general finally took pity on his dumb ass and gave him the answer i was looking for. i miss playing with nukes.

yes and no: I read it as the people in power stating that in spite of being authoritarian thugs intimidating everyone while controlling everything, neither they nor their supporters think they are authoritarian thugs, and will haul you off for being so rude as to mention it since they have decided that is a crime.

I got to study opposition street theater as a literature credit, how you get messages out through heavy censorship. It was supposed to convince me of the rightness of the cause of international socialism I think, but I was enamored of the techniques. Absurdism and ambiguity are a few of those techniques. They make the audience thing, "hey" without scaring them away with actual overt messages.
