We Need More Firebrands Like Marjorie Taylor Greene!

The Democrat/Progressive Cabal has had a virtual lock on fire-breathing representatives and pundits spouting the tenets of their fringe. Nobody bats an eye when Alexandria Donkey-Chompers spouts Maoist nonsense or one of the Dem's captive talking heads blabbers mostly incoherently about some pie-in-the-sky notion...like the Green New Deal. In fact, it is taken seriously by their fellow travelers in the media, and the refutations of those idiocies are given much less media attention.

Maxine Waters, Juaquin Castro, Ilhan Omar, Hank Johnson...and that's just the house of representatives! The list is long of Democrat/progressives who say and do outlandish stuff just to see what stays in the public consciousness.

That's how they push the Overton Window, and while we laugh at the ignorance and illogic of most of their spoutings, they do have an effect on political discourse.

But when -- finally -- a few on the right emerge and start pushing back against the rapidly encroaching socialist agenda being floated by these useful idiots of the hard left, they are attacked viciously and underhandedly by the media...no surprise there...but also by the establishment Republicans who see them -- rightly -- as a danger to the status quo and a harbinger of future challenges to their power within the uniparty.

Marjorie Taylor Greene Is Crazy Like a Fox

Lauren Boebert, Paul Gosar in the house (I am suspicious of Madison Cawthorn), Mark Robinson (Lt. Governor of North Carolina) and probably a dozen others are carrying the torch of conservative thought in America. Is everything they say a nugget of pure conservative philosophy? No, of course not, but the media are hell-bent on making them sound like lunatics, regardless of what they actually say and do. Just take a gander at MTG's wiki page for an incredibly biased and one-sided attack if you are unsure. Add Matt Gaetz to the mix and try to figure out what is truth and what are Democrat talking points to marginalize him.

Do I support everything they say? Nope. But I support their full-throated attacks on the Democrats, the Democrat party, the socialist agenda, the deep state, the corporate-government revolving door, and a host of other things that make our current political structure an existential danger to America as founded and as imagined for generations. As Michael Walsh pointed out in a recent article: The Specter That Haunts America and in a CJN podcast, the Democrat party shouldn't be legal judging by its behavior beginning before the Civil War! So anyone who attacks it is doing the right and noble thing for our country.

They claim that she is an Insurrectionist and therefore disqualified under Civil War-era amendments to the Constitution. BTW, these are the same Reconstruction amendments where they "found" Same-Sex Marriage. Must be nice when everything on your Wish List from coups to nuts is already in the Constitution--and only you have the Secret Decoder Ring to see it.

The real target is, of course, Actual President Donald Trump. By these same means, they hope to disqualify him from being reelected a third time.

To that end, they are trying to transform the phrase "1776" into violent Hate Speech.

One in particular that I am looking at is a small LLC that does reforestation projects in the Southwest, as part of a global network of similar groups, loosely under a larger umbrella of international climate change organizations. They incorporated 10 months ago. Their website touts that they foster 'an entrepreneurial spirit' although as far as I can tell their funding comes solely from obscure donor sources and govt grants, which to me does not equate with entrepreneurial. They don't actually produce a product, and their workforce consists of community volunteers. they exist in a vapor trail of paragovernmental money, hoovering up what they can. Thoughts?

49 Boebert has 2 primary challengers because CO redrew district lines. Kirkmeyer is a longtime weld GOP person has been a Weld county elected official forever and is endorsed by Ken Buck. Buck is GOP but usually votes correctly. The other, Lori Saine was my local rep to the state congress. I like Saine, it sucks that it is a choice between her and Boebert, and the GOPer Kirkmeyer may well end up on top. I wish I was in WY and could vote against backstabbing Liz Cheney.

No. We do 400grit sandpaper between coat 1 and 2. 600 grit between 2and 3. Its looking pretty good. I'm not exactly a perfectionist about this. The table is about 100 years old and has painted legs and frame under the stained top. That paint is as old as the table . it's cracked and worn and I left it alone. People actually put a lot of effort into getting that look. I just pulled the thing out of a shed, scrubbed it, stain and poly on top and done. Stuck it in the kitchen like that almost 20 yrs ago. The top needed re done for awhile now.

The University of Alabama is bucking that trend.
They've taken revenues from the football program and directed them toward academic excellence. They scour the country for kids who crushed the SATs - and who are therefore the wretched refuse of blue states, such as NY, IL, and CA - and offer them academic merit scholarships. IIRC, half of the students in Tuscaloosa are now from out of state.

It's a brilliant program, and one that is likely not only to advance the reputation of the University of Alabama, but to benefit the state as well, since some of those kids will probably stay there.
