I'll admit that the weather is pleasant enough right now. It's 2 months too early for it, as far as I'm concerned. An 80-degree day should not happen until mid-May. As I keep telling people, if temps hit 83 in March, it'll be 93 by June.

My generation of Buick LaCrosse offered a hybrid version. The gas engine was terribly underpowered for use in a big car. But if most of your/her driving is hopping around town, then the power issue won't come into it.

Every morning I get up and write the date on a 4 X 6 index card, then the projected weather and a list of things to work on. Later in the day I list stuff accomplished.

I was checking my cards from a year ago and last year at this date I was cutting grass already. Not this year, it's hardly growing at all. I know, Putin's fault.

I live near DeLeon Springs. That was supposedly what he thought was the Fountain of Youth. It's pretty amazing the sheer volume of water that comes out of that thing.

Martini, I sport a "Commander Riker" beard (though I grew mine some months before he turned up with his). So I don't have to worry about the chin. Two passes on the cheeks, 1 on lower lip, 2-3 on the throat up to the sharp line of the beard proper, and I'm done.

If you mean the shave creams that come in a can, they work okay. But soap (as you've found) or a tub cream like Taylor of Old Bond Street or GF Trumpers, or Proraso in a big tube, work much better. Have you tried any of those? Which soap do you use?

When I first started, or re-started, using a safety razor after decades of electrics, I used Neutrogena. It works fine, but I really like my old-school soap sticks like Tabac or Arko. Be warned, that latter stuff has been described as smelling like the scent discs they put in public urinals. It doesn't, and it's a great soap, but it turns some people off.

The multi-blade razors, I used them infrequently in the '80s and '90s. I nicked myself at least a third of the time. Now, with the safety razors and about a decade of shaving this way behind me, I rarely draw blood.

Also, I wash my face, shave first, then shower. I get just as close a shave as with showering first, and I like the feeling of running my hands over my super-smooth face and throat as I wash up.

Could it be Williams soap? I've never tried it. Yes, I have a couple of puck brands and I load the brush right from them. Once every week or two I'll load up some cream on the brush, add some Barbasol from the can, swirl it all up in the bowl, and get a super-lather. But you're right, the cleanup from that is annoying.

The unions are going to be changing teams. Some already have. The leadership has betrayed the workers and there will be some interesting changes ahead.

I recognize now that a lot of my antipathy towards unions was about their radical leftwing leadership, not the actual concerns of the workers.

The problem was that the union leadership also pushed the left social agenda, which made it easy to villify them. However, standing up for good wages, decent benefits and stopping jobs from going overseas are good things. I can get behind that.

It's when they pushed abortion, gay marriage, open borders and stuff that I was done with them. I think the membership is waking up to that fact. They backed Biden and got royally screwed. That was on their leadership, not the rank and file.

It's when they pushed abortion, gay marriage, open borders and stuff that I was done with them. I think the membership is waking up to that fact. They backed Biden and got royally screwed. That was on their leadership, not the rank and file.

Amazon already pays some of the highest wages around. Their work rules and enviornment is another issue. But I do blame the rank and file, just like I blame the American voters, they voted for this current leadership, so they own it.

He needed a landline phone hooked up, had to pay for the ankle bracelet and some other stuff. This was in PA. So all that stuff will be paid for in addition to a place to be house arrested in. Joe Arpaio had the right idea with the tents in Maricopa county.
