A schoolboy in Year 8 had his speakers and disco lights confiscated after he arranged and hosted a rave in his school toilets. Man awarded $8M after being served chemicals instead of beer at Henderson bar It's not as funny as the headline makes it sound like it could be.
The sample of beer contained potassium hydroxide and nonylphenol polyethylene glycol ether, which are chemicals used in cleaning systems for bar taps, tanks and lines.The chemicals were supposed to “liquefy and adhere to organic material”, and they did, just inside of Dr Enwright. I suppose what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas, even if it's your stomach lining. Horrifying.
“After drinking the sample, Dr. Enwright experienced a sudden and intense burning in his mouth, on his tongue, and down his esophagus into his stomach,” the news release stated. “He soon began convulsing, hyperventilating, and violently vomiting before Henderson Fire Department arrived to the scene.”
Enwright suffered permanent nerve and tissue damage to his mouth, tongue and gastrointestinal system, according to the news release from attorneys Rahul Ravipudi, Ian Samson and Adam Ellis.

So, tonight's question: What do you think of this kind of thing? On the one hand, I like it. I think people on the right are too often afraid to stand up to the social justice wanker types, much less do it with an in-your-face attitude. Generally speaking, most of us just want to be left alone. Leave-me-alone types aren't really the hotheads who will push back against the wild-eyed rabble that the left uses to engineer social upheaval. On the other hand, they are exactly the type who will win the war when they feel they have nothing to lose, but often that's a pyrrhic victory . On the other hand, I'm wondering if, as a marketing strategy, these kind of things aren't a mile wide and an inch deep. I don't know if it's sustainable long term, or if it has the potential to grow outside of a niche market. I often remind myself that Twitter is not an accurate representation of the country as a whole. By the same token, those of us at places like Ace of Spades aren't either. There's a vast mushy middle that doesn't care much either way, and we need to remember that the left spent decades on their long march through the institutions so that when they did step up their extremist attacks on the status quo ante bellum, there was in infrastructure of cultural support in place to support their efforts. I think we on the right think that the “muddy middle” is “on our side”, and while that may be true speaking vaguely in general, as I said, most folks don't care that much, and are susceptible to being lured into complacency by the media, the establishment and the communists. To us it's obvious: How is Jan. 6 a “violent riot” and Kenosha a “peaceful protest”? It's absurd on the face of it, but so many people will never look beyond the face they are told to see. Opinions? That reminds me of a couple of decades back or so. A classmate of mine was, shall we say politely, not wired quite correctly. Then one day, my dad calls me and lets me know that this guy holed himself up in his house and the Michigan State troopers basically blew the house off its foundations and put paid to him.
I guess it doesn't always happen to someone quite a distance away.

He actually seems like a nice guy. It's just he's passionate about food and wants it to be done properly. The times he really gets pissed seem to be when someone doesn't care or knows better and still let's shit slide. And especially when knowing what they're doing can actually be dangerous to people that eat the food.

Not bad, though I can't say much about whether it follows the Halo video games closely, because I've never played them. All I know about Halo and Master Chief comes from watching the internet series Red vs. Blue, which uses the Halo Spartans as characters.
Master Chief is played by Pablo Schreiber, half brother of Liev Schreiber. FX are great, the story seems pretty compelling and there are definitely a lot of interesting plot lines that are developed just in this first episode.
YMMV, but I found myself thoroughly enjoying it. Have been looking for a new space series since The Expanse ended.

i introduced an 8th grade math teacher to paper assholes. she cursed me like a proper senior master chief after she finished laughing and caught her breath. her main issue was that paper asshile just rolls off the to gue while paper reinforcement does not. and she teaches 8th graders.
she & i mentored her school's rocket club for five or six years, and she tittered each and every single time she passed out paper assholes for the kid's engineering notebooks.
i think i'm going to hell for that all by itself.

I was having trouble with the charging had to fiddle with the cable and sometimes it would go into non charging position while sitting there.
It became nervewracking. I thought well I will just upgrade to a new iphone then. WTF $999? You people crazy. So I paid to get the existing one fixed

We had a similar situation years ago in our old neighborhood. No one told us shit. Just woke up to a phone call from our neighbor asking us if we knew there were cops all over our backyard. They were moving in on the house caddy corner from us. We moved the kids to the basement.

My BiL had a trick for salvaging batteries that wouldn't hold a charge.... blast them with an insanely high voltage, like from a tesla coil, with opposite polarity to the battery.
It will either make the battery work like new, or completely shithouse the bastard. 50/50.
He used to work in high power transmission gear. They had a fun test lab. That's all I'm allowed to say.

I see no problem stealing customers.
It may or may not be a good business plan (seriously, I buy 5/1$ at the hyakuen, and they last me 6 months.) but it IS good payback for being leftards. And, eventually we will have the mass and infrastructure.

Well it turned out that the neighbor was home alone, inside, and his story was that he couldn't stand seeing the little green men looking at him through the windows anymore so he had to shoot them. (shot several of his own windows out) I don't doubt that he saw them; at least they took his gun away from him after that.

I haven't been paying that much attention to the "war" since I don't trust anything that comes out of Russia, Ukraine, NATO, the EU, or any American Press outlet.
But I think if things were going as well as people think on Ukraine's behalf, there would be more cell phone video uploaded to the internet. I've seen a grand total of about 4 short videos of guys shooting Javelins at parked tanks of unknown provenance (who can tell if they're Russian or Uke?), and one video of a fighter shooting rockets over a village.
If the Russians really had lost 10K - 15K troops dead, there should be a lot more video proof of that. Perhaps I need to go to the British papers, though they suck as much as American ones.

Same here. So for once, when I saw the Jeremy's Razors ad yesterday, I decided I should pony up. The razor cost is ok-ish. I didn't love the idea of getting the whole kit and kaboodle, but if everyone sits on the sideline like I normally do it'll fail. It is supposed to ship in June. I've got razors to last me til then. If it all goes belly-up then shame on me for my foolishness.

I understand your point about cell phone video. Perhaps I misstated my point by talking just about cell phones. There is a metric fuckton of video footage from our adventures in Afghanistan and Iraq, from all sides of the conflict, some from cell phones, some from "reporters", some from official military branches. Covering all phases of the last 20 years.
If the Ukes were doing as well as everyone thinks, the Uke government would have something to show us. I haven't seen anything but Zelenskyyyyyyyyyy mugging for the cameras.

I do not know, I think I exceeded 700 this week.
I try not to post as much as I did, but I am in between busy times at my job. Being in the field 70+ hours a week tends to take away from my play time here. Also in all honesty I have been in a bad place emotionally given family matters back home to the point I felt my company would not be as supportive as my friends here recall my being when not at my worst.
Then again it is once again a retard Olympiad politically, and I do so love taking the piss out of power.

Very similar thing happened in 1974. Soviet pilot defected & landed the newest Soviet fighter jet in Japan. His plane had gone into active service for the first time less than a year earlier. The USAF & the CIA were rather eager to have a look at it & take it for a spin!
Since the pilot (Viktor Belenko, I THINK was his name) brought that airplane with him, there was no question about his bona fides as a genuine defector.

ISW is staffed by youngsters, though they do have some more experienced adults. Their source info like that for most is very limited and of questionable reliability (not necessarily incorrect, but there's simply no credible sources that stand alone without multiple and objective confirmation on most of this thing).
They and a few other more impressive observers are talking about a stalemate, but I don't think that's the right concept. Ukraine cannot function or long tolerate having most of the eastern third of the country and much of the south coast occupied or cut off. Barring some unlikely enormous shift in Russian behavior, they can maintain this situation pretty easily. That's not a stalemate.

I haven't looked at the site for their opinions (which are not very evident) but for factual assessments of what is actually happening; I prefer them to Al Jazeera. (although Al Jazeera's coverage has been better than any American news outlets) They have not been on one "side" or the other; for example, just today they stated that the hopes for a Ukrainian counteroffensive, being pushed by some outlets, were way overblown.

Interesting analysis, but pooh-poohing the Russians getting ahold of the biochem labs could be short-sighted. And yeah, I got off to a bad start on a bad path, but thankfully, Christ's Salvation threw the lever on the switch on the tracks. Went about seven years as a teetotaler, but not of the AA, nor the theological variety. Just cleansing and discipline, till I could "adult" into my late 20s, and then imbibe with some responsibility mixed in. Which has worked for me, ever since.

Yes I buy those occasionally as I relish hot tastes. However the curry flavor can't be beat for me (taste being personal). My favorite food is Indian (as in India) and Italian. I imagine most other spicy foods of other nations would be considered yummy by me.

My *impression* from reading, experiences and conversations over the years is that Moscow cares about Moscow. (At least here the Congresscritters have to go "home" once in awhile.) The former Soviet Republics that were overseen by Moscow had no say in whether NBC weapons were tested there and the lives lost. (Tsar Bomba broke windows in Moscow. Do you think no one died from it?) Then you get into all the ethnic tensions and how someone in Moscow feels no connection to someone in, say Chechnya other than a technical label and you can see a dehumanization of Russia's own populace.

That said, it was not a traditionally beautiful American pie; it just had all the necessary components of pie visual appeal and great taste. Over time with public being brow beat it's easy to lose the idea that humor can sell (cause all humor is raciest?). The ad does not flow to 'hate your self' for being human narratives, the left media seems to have put people on guard for lies when humor is involved.
I'm very impressed by what a handful of individuals are doing with daily wire to bring positive future attitudes, fake NO but a proper response we see very little to day.
