funny thing, Pixy Misa, I was thinking yesterday that I didn't really like the idea of finance companies being able to declare the current Emanuel Goldstein an enemy of the state and then proceeding to deny access to funds.

An example of why the elites want a cashless society. They love the idea of being able to destroy any group they can unperson. This time it just happens to a be a bunch of innocent people in a country run by an authoritarian.

I doubt it. People who self diagnose are usually full of shit. You can't go gluten free and simply fix everything based on nothing.
I was worried about cholesterol, diabetes, and tryglicerides. It turns out I am fine with those, they are not an issue. But my vitamin D is way too low. A good doc ordered the test and she was right. But this is based on actuall tests, not pseudo science and the hip allergies. Posted by: Quint at March 06, 2022 05:13 AM (3KVdn) 32
I wonder how many of the "I went gluten free and I am so much healthier!" When they don't have a true medical issue is more about that most of the gluten they have cut out has resulted in reducing how many carbs they've been eating. So not a health boost from being gluten free but a health boost from being low carb

If you do have celiac disease and switch to a gluten-free diet, it's like flipping a switch. One day you're constantly ill, the next day you're not. Anything else and it's probably not the gluten. You might really be sick, but it's probably not the gluten. Posted by: Pixy Misa at March 06, 2022 05:17 AM (KjEXQ) 34

I have dropped 70 pounds over the last two years. The best part is I know I will keep it off, it has been a while.
Everyone has their answer, there isn't just one. For sure it it is proper meal sizes and not snacking. It is also lower carb, with lots of fruits and veggies. I never got close to keto, but for sure greatly reduced simple carbs What I did not do is ban anything. Sure I rarely eat donuts, ice cream etc, but that is by choice, they don't interest me. I wish I had a full proof plan. The big ones to me are no snacking and Intermittent fasting. If you can fast a day or two, you realize there is little you Must Have. I also normally go full fat. Just what I did, not a prescription for others. Posted by: Quint at March 06, 2022 05:45 AM (3KVdn) 46

Mornin', folk,
Up to work out in 68 F. temps, in early March, yet. (I am not boasting, I'm complaining.) Chekov the Ailing Codger Cat is moving about, and he ate most of what I left for him last night. Someone here suggested crushing up his pain pill in the gravy-laden treat food he likes. Didn't work. Oh, well. Workout, grocery, breakfast. I want to relax as much as I can today. At work (aka Crazy Town) the next-year's budget is supposed to be complete by the 15th, and this week I've got to get various people to give me access to certain things or add them to the template. Once that is over, I'm going to take a couple of sick days, I really am. Posted by: Wolfus Aurelius at March 06, 2022 05:56 AM (c6xtn) 54

It didn't happen under Trump because mean as he could be and as forthright he would be, he was a sane and rational person who was a business man and thus could judge fairly well what would happen because of his actions. And thus people were scared of him cause he could be spooky like that and no one likes to have their mind read.
And thus we had a chance to take over everything and then turn it all back to the citizens and make everything work but no the left just could deal with sanity and actual peace. It had to be their definition of peace and their perceptions. Or Else. And now look where we are. Posted by: jakee308 at March 06, 2022 07:22 AM (9RkRx) 62

It gradually got worse over a period of years, from sometimes having a stomach ache after eating a sandwich to getting up twice a night to use the bathroom - and not because I had to pee.
Apparently the average time it took to diagnose celiac symptoms used to be ten years. Posted by: Pixy Misa at March 06, 2022 07:38 AM (KjEXQ) 64

Thanks a lot for the rundown on the vTubers, Pixy! The link to the explanation on your blog in particular gave me the background I think I was looking for, and your post here was a good explanation of how it fits into our worldview here. I was mainly interested because my kids watch a lot of YouTube, and I kind of want to steer them away from the "screaming campus garbage babies" you mentioned, and maybe toward some... well, not "wholesome," exactly, but perhaps *non-radicalized* content. My daughter in particular.
I checked out Pipkin Pippa, and she's great, but she's pretty potty-mouthed. Not a huge deal for me, but maybe a little much for my kids. Hololive seems a little more tame? My kiddo loves to draw, and I put on a chibi drawing tutorial from a couple of Hololive girls, and it turns out that's exactly what she was looking to learn. She sat there for an hour drawing along with them. So thanks for the tips. It seems like a good thing to have on in the background while working. The window-mounted AC unit I bought last year also had an app. Happily, its only (alleged) function is to allow me to set it without using the buttons on the appliance because I was unable to get it to connect despite multiple tries. I deleted it from my phone and have to adjust it manually like I expected I would have to when I bought it. Useful reminder that IoT devices are works of the Devil, however.
