The Morning Report - 2/16/22

justinprecioushoser.jpg

Good morning, kids. Wednesday and the seemingly unrelated stories of the struggle north of the 49th parallel - and really all over the world - and the bombshell revelations of the Durham investigation are at the top of my list this morning. There is a common denominator to them and really to pretty much every story in every section: That is, the complete abandonment and upending of nearly 900 years of societal development towards freedom and self-determination on the individual level back to the endless night of dark age slavery and oppression of the many by the few. Ironic in the extreme, not to mention disgusting to witness the heirs of Mao, Stalin and Hitler parade around in the skin suit of Jesus, Lincoln and Gandhi, shrieking tone-deaf renditions of "Kumbaya" and "Imagine" as they line us up in front of a ditch and pull the trigger.

We laugh at the truly sick asshole who swiped a 13-year-old girl's Canadian flag at a rally in support of the trucker protest, but then was crying like a little titty-baby when the cops detained him. But I'm not laughing; I don't think it's that much of a stretch to posit that, given the right circumstances, he would have no qualms at all about "just following orders." That is if he didn't volunteer for the firing squad himself. And that applies with equal force down here in the lower 48 as well as all the other formerly free, enlightened, western liberal democracies who have a growing number of people voting for, and stuffing the ballot boxes for, individuals and parties that are moving at light speed to out Chi-Com the Chi-Coms. Thank you, Marx. Thank you, Gramsci. Thank you Marcuse.

So, all that said, the Durham report is dropping bombshells all over the place that in really no uncertain terms not only completely exonerates Donald Trump over the so-called Russiagate scandal but actually implicates Hillary Clinton as well as the highest echelons of our national security and law enforcement agencies in what can only be described as seditious behavior if not worse. None of this is a revelation more than a confirmation of what we at a minimum suspected and mostly knew over 5 years ago. Not that the media is paying attention to it more than deflecting and covering it up. And more importantly, not that it really matters at all.

I would pay-per-view to see Hillary in her orange Armani jumpsuit, drunk and hissing as they lead her to the hoosegow, slowly turning back into a lizard.

It's not going to happen. The leftists didn't empty the jails and prisons to make room for their queen bee.  Liberals won't allow violent and/or repeat offenders to go to the skookum house, knowing full well those criminals will attack more innocent victims. There is no way they'll lock up their Queen of Sleaze.

Domestic terrorist Darrell Brooks ran over 62 white people late last year in Waukesha, Wis. He SHOULD have been in jail after running over his girlfriend. He SHOULD have been kept there when a risk assessment test determined Brooks was likely to commit more crimes. But the local DA, John Chisholm, was happy to let him go, knowing full well that his bail reform nonsense would get people killed. Lefties look out for their own.

While the left is eager to round up meemaws who were let into the Capitol, they fight just as hard to keep their people out.

Jan. 6 buffalo horns guy Jacob Chansley got 41 months in federal prison for his stroll through the Capitol. Mohamed Hussein Abdi, 20, was given probation for trying to burn down a school during a riot for Saintly George Floyd. . .

. . . It steams my clams to say this, but the Clintons are made of a unique mixture of Teflon and kevlar. Most of the media won't even discuss their chicanery, much less call them out. When the news of their transgressions does manage to leak, the press runs interference for the Clintons and will even add suppressing fire to cover them. When that fails, the DOJ takes over to make sure the Clintons remain free.

The Clintons are the herpes of American politics, and the lefty news and DOJ refuse to slather on some Valtrex.

All this is true, but it goes way beyond merely the Clintons. As I posited here and on the soon-to-be-award-winning CJN Speaks! podcast, it's not that there are two justice systems in this country. It's that there is NO justice system. We are becoming a vast prison and the warders are a combination of the junta in power in cahoots with the economically-fascistic corporate world and most alarmingly, far too many of our coworkers, neighbors and even family members as kapos and snitches.

So yes, Hillary Clinton is never going to jail let alone going to be indicted for the same reason that John Roberts threw out the 17-state suit at SCOTUS over the electoral college results and for the same reason that this Quintez Brown scum is not going to face any serious jail time for putting a hole in Craig Greenberg's sports coat. Hell, a Biden minion is already blaming "right-wing rhetoric" for doing that damage, much the same way as it was a somehow self-aware SUV that plowed into the Waukesha Christmas parade. But dare to protest the mind- and body-rape of your children at a school board meeting, or be duped into accepting the Capitol cops' invitation to waltz into the Rotunda and you will be ground into the dust.

Hold that thought as I segue into Dan Gelernter over at American Greatness with a very good take on the police and the Second Amendment:

I believe in law and order. I want to back the blue. But they've let me down. They weren't there when my city was on fire. But if I were to get a handgun to protect my apartment, they'd show up at 4 a.m. with a no-knock warrant and shoot my dog.

I feel safer in Connecticut where I can carry a gun than in New York where I can't. I find I would rather rely on the general protection of an armed community than on a specially empowered group who are immune to criminal liability for their actions. But even here in the suburbs, my local town's police department has a surplus military Humvee. Why? Crowd control? Only a few thousand people live here. When a friend was getting his pistol permit last year, the local police lied to him repeatedly (at least three different ways) to avoid fingerprinting him so he could complete his application. Who the hell do they think they are?

From where I sit, the problem with defunding the police isn't that the police do so much to protect us, it's that we've been so deprived of the means to protect ourselves. And frankly, I'm not convinced that society wouldn't do better simply getting rid of all permitting requirements and allowing anyone who wants to protect himself to enjoy that constitutional right without restriction. An armed society is a polite society. And where guns are outlawed, only outlaws have guns. Only outlaws -- and the police.

Well said, but I will take it a step further by Psaki-psircling back to my original contention. The reason I have antipathy to the police - even my once beloved NYPD - is that they are uniformed representatives of the law, which is supposed to be a just and stable law that ensures the functioning of the civil society while guaranteeing my fundamental rights and liberties.

It is obvious now that the aforementioned no longer exists. The laws exist, when they are enforced, only to oppress and suppress political opposition at the Federal, state and local level to the entity that overthrew the government between November 2020 and January 2021.

Look at those who dare enter a restaurant unmasked, raise their voices in protest at school board meetings or who are imprisoned now for over a year because they were entrapped into walking into the Capitol on January 6th 2021. Now compare and contrast to people from Hillary Clinton and the junta who concocted the Russia collusion hoax all the way down to street thugs who rob, rape and murder at will with no bail, no jail and no consequences as well as the thugs of Antifa and BLM who lay waste to entire communities while being lauded as "mostly peaceful" civil rights protesters.

Unless proven otherwise, the men and women in blue are representatives of that regime and therefore cannot be trusted to uphold their oaths to the citizenry. Same as our elected officials of both parties. And that is a longwinded way of stating why the Second Amendment exists. While I agree with Mr. Gelernter that being able to defend yourself from a direct threat to your life is crucial, it is equally crucial that being armed as a means to defend yourself from a tyrannical government is as, if not more, important -- especially when more and more uniformed law enforcement officers are more concerned with protecting their pensions than the community they ostensibly joined up to defend.

These are the wages of lawlessness. Anarchy is one thing. What we have is tyranny dressed up as order.

8 St. Juliana
SAINT OF THE DAY
St. Juliana of Nicomedia (c. 270 A.D.), also known as St. Juliana of Cumae, born in Nicomedia. Although her father was hostile to Christians, Juliana secretly accepted baptism. Her father arranged her marriage to a pagan nobleman and Roman senator. When the time for her wedding came, Juliana refused her consent to be married unless her betrothed converted to the Christian faith. Her father retaliated by mercilessly abusing her, but Juliana would not give in. Her betrothed then denounced her as a Christian under the persecutions of the Roman Emperor Diocletian. St. Juliana was unwavering in her faith, even after the devil himself appeared to tempt her during her sufferings. She was then publicly tortured by being burned, boiled in oil, and finally beheaded. Some accounts say she died together with St. Barbara. Many were converted to the Christian faith upon witnessing her fortitude in the face of her tortures. St. Juliana is the patron saint of sickness and bodily ills. Her feast day is February 16th.

I think that there is your mistake. You assume that there is an oath to the citizenry.

That has NEVER been the case. NEVER in all of human history.

Armed agents pledge loyalty to the one who signs their pay checks whether it is a goon in the Mafia, a soldier in the military or a "law enforcement" officer.

The closest we ever get to that "oath to the citizenry" is maybe the county sheriff, and that is due to the elected nature of the office - but many examples exist where the sheriff is loyal to The Party, particularly where the Party machine is strongest.

39 How Mark Kelly Gets Around This Self-Imposed Ban

From the article:

The senator, who faces a tough reelection bid in November, introduced a bill with Sen. Jon Ossoff (D., Ga.) last month to ban companies from forming PACs or soliciting money to fund them. "Our legislation would put an end to the corrupt influence of corporate PACs in our political system," Kelly said of the bill.

Given that SCOTUS has already ruled that corporations are people - as concerns the 1st Amendment - this is a waste of time. Failure theater for the left. Pity the author couldn't put that together.

46 "Totalitarians rule through a combination of Fraud and Force; once the fraud is exposed, they rule through Force alone."

The "election" was one big Fraud, Covid was the second. However, do not let yourself believe that exposing those two frauds will somehow repair things, because through them a true Fascist movement has been allowed to seize all the levers of power; and what you are pointing out in your essay today, JJ, is just how brutally and ruthlessly they will use that force they now control to hold on to that power.

The Truckers and Durham have done a great job at exposing the frauds for any honest person to see; but sadly that alone will not be nearly enough to dislodge the fascists from their seats of power. This is going to require a lot of smart, hard work over an extended period, many years before any of this can be overcome. Do not fool yourselves and think anything less than that will suffice; we cannot use Power to fight them, because the Fascists control too much of it to be beaten that way. We must be much, much more intelligent than that.

They CAN be beaten, but it is going to take a long time, and it is not going to be easy at all.

Well before that. The former part of your essay - Clinton's sedition machine and Spygate - was the major escalation point. 2020 and beyond has just been the bad actors acting with impunity.

This is why I don't use the word "lawless" to describe our country. It is very much not lawless. It is, however, entirely unlawful. There are laws and if you're not in the ruling class - or if you wander off the reservation in some manner, or become a liability - then those laws are enforced against you with the zeal of the converted. If you are in the ruling class and in good standing, no laws apply at all. It is not even a two-tiered justice system, it's a system of full applicability for one group and utter non-existence for the other.

Not surprising considering that the former United States is lacking both religion and culture.

Marriages used to be solemn religious events regardless of the religion. Then the Pagans and atheists decided that despite billions of people over the entire span of human history in every land, culture, tongue and generation understood the transcendent meaning of marriage - that it needed to be redefined.

It is mainly because the Left doesn't have the language to understand what marriage is, therefore since they don't understand it, they don't respect it, and thus it is just another thing they can manipulate and control to exhibit power over others.

Being that they have erased sexual identity and roles because they don't have the language to understand it, this generation will never know what they aren't taught.

Another hard fact that we must admit to ourselves - most Establishment people in any society, but especially ours, prefer an autocratic fascist government as long as it seems to make their lives easier and doesn't seem to interfere with *them* personally. They don't give one damn about theoretical concepts of "freedom" and "democracy"; that's just lip service to keep the proles in line.

Society itself must be pushed to the breaking point before any of these people can start to think that some changes must be made. The question is, how to do this in a way that that Government is not able to counter with overwhelming force? Because that is not only what the Powers will try to do; it is what they are aching to do, as the speaker in that radio clip makes clear.

There is another force at play against them. There are two methods for successful dictatorship. One is absolute tyranny at all levels (the DPRK model), but that is exceedingly difficult to pull off and you can only do it in a fairly small place with accommodating neighbors and patrons. The other is to rule absolutely, but with a light touch that keeps resentment tamped down and with competence that allows the average joe to do okay. This is more the Singapore model.

Our ruling class is not smart or competent or honest enough for the SIngapore model and they aren't powerful enough or small enough or externally supported enough for the DPRK model. That is the recipe for revolutionary breakdown. At some point.

68 I've come to basically the same conclusion, except I think the composition of the 35% changes issue by issue. Don't be the guy in the 35%.

The average IQ is 100. Consider how stupid the average person is then realize that half the people are less intelligent than that - yet they can answer a poll.

I submit that there is very sizeable proportion of the population that doesn't have the will or the mental firepower to understand the world around them. We affectionately call them LIVs. There will always be at least a third of the population who are naturally Agreeable People who avoid confrontation and don't want to appear negative, particularly to strangers.

So it is a combination of ignorance, apathy and desire to please others that gives us the perennial one-third support.

The establishment prefers authoritarianism no matter what, since they're the authorities. The man on the street doesn't much care so long as life is okay. But authoritarianism and decent quality-of-life is a combination that requires the authorities to be intelligent, sophisticated and skilled. They have to know when to stop, when to back-track, when to stop looting for a bit, etc. Our authorities are not good enough to pull that off. There are too many of them and they're too expensive, if nothing else. They can't stop and so are eating the seed grain. That is not a recipe for success.

78 So, all that said, the Durham report is dropping bombshells all over the place

I was listening to Dan Bongino's podcast on Rumble this morning. It's good (as always). But he mentions something Mike Cernovich said which is absolutely true and I had thought the same thing a while ago.

They did this too soon. The fascists played their big card too soon. Truedope will be the fall guy, but he won't care because he will be taken care of. Same for Macron. The video of blackface being loved at WEF is chilling.

They did not have control of ALL media. Of ALL social media. Of ALL electronic communications. So there were ways to circumvent them this time. People can clearly see - because the demonstrations are so large and being recorded - that they are lying. And what they are doing is clearly taking away hard working, freedom-loving people.

I was wondering if they took this risk because one, the covid poison jab scandal was coming out (remember CEO of Moderna recently sold his shares, deleted his twitter account and ran), and two, the "other side" was beefing up their own ways of communicating that would hinder them going forward (e.g. Trump social platform).

111 That won't happen because it's never happened. Automation -enhancing human productivity and amplifying human creativity - has for more than a century led to both a transformation in and an expansion of available work. Robots are merely, even if profoundly, the next step.
++++
That's from the City Journal article and I think it misses an important point. Many of the jobs have moved down-market, with some new ones in the upper market, but vast numbers of people who used to be middle class aren't anymore. Yes, you can move from being an assembly line worker to a burger-flipper or call center operator, but moving from assembly line worker to software engineer is harder and rarer. Not all work is equal and the semi-skilled, mid-tier employment base that helps drive the middle class has taken it in the shorts.

But there is another big problem with the robot/AI revolution, namely that it is driven by large enterprise with significant access to synthetically cheap capital. If that changes - as it must to bring inflation and money supply under control - then all assumptions underlying the scheme fall apart.

Would it also be consistent that while provoking war with a nuclear power, that it would not be wise to have the entire Supreme Court, House, Senate and the top Executive all concentrated in one poorly defended building at a known time and location?

117 From The Republic Brief

Despite not giving a direct reply to the question, Trump made it clear he plans to make a big move soon.

"Well, I think a lot of things are happening and a lot of very positive things are happening, you know, when you look into the future that was your idea. I heard it from you first. I don't know, it certainly has been going around and frankly, I hope we don't need it because what should happen is, what the plan that we're on now and the plan that's going to make people very, very happy we'll be announcing sometime later, and that's really what should happen. But we will, you know we're going to make America great again. So I say Make America Great Again Again," Trump answered.

My point exactly, but also for the midterms this might be his only "accomplishment". He prevented a war that was never going to happen. More directly, look at China. Formally ending the One Child Policy was recent, but it was decreasingly enforced and back-burnered since the early 90s. It was technically illegal, but almost no one was punished for it. But China got hit by the industrial birth rate phenomenon (birth rate naturally falls to replacement or just below as industrialization takes root) after artificial suppression of the birth rate for the prior generation or so. They quit enforcing the rule, but the birth rate didn't increase much. Now they've formally ended the rule, but it doesn't matter anymore.

Or for that matter, why is double-scanning a ballot - as happened in Arizona at least - possible? Because the system is designed to be exploited. Part of the appeal of a liberal republic is that the citizens don't have to think about politics 24/7, they can just go about their lives doing things and making things and being productive while the apparatus benignly chugs along. Just as the appeal of a police department is that you can relax and go about your day without spending 24/7 vigilantly guarding your body, property, and possessions. It's ultimately a species of division of labor, with security and political functions assigned to a specific workforce.

But Recent Events have taught us that the apparatus doesn't just benignly chug along unless the apparatus is scared of what might happen if it stops being benign.

Compare the functions of politics and security with communications ("Big Tech") or healthcare, too.... wherever there is power to be leveraged, some asshole is gonna try to be a Bullshit Archimedes and move the whole world.

Actual quote from an HOA Trustee when I served on the Board, "Count, the homeowners elected us to make these decisions for them. It's for us to decide and they don't need to be involved."

We had to replace a big section of perimeter wall that had catastrophically failed about 15 years earlier than end of life expectancy. The replacement was going to change the look of the subdivision and consume a majority of our Reserve Fund that had just been started 4 years earlier. But the homeowners didn't need to be involved (buy in). I promptly resigned.

In a motion to strike, Biden's legal team unconditionally denied the unverified claims, and called the effort by the Florida-based D&A Investigations another obviously bogus "scheme by a non-party simply to make scandalous allegations in the pending suit to gain media attention without any material or pertinent material."

Had Durham not filed his motion and explained why - that Sussman would have later claimed that right, and then suggested there was no reason and he was being coerced to do so...trying to have it both ways is a pure Clintonian move. That is a different problem. Their efficiency is way, way up (that is reflected in productivity). Amazon still has a bad retail business model and is still carried by AWS, but the retail business is much more efficient than it was a few years ago. Wal-Mart is increasingly down-market in a lot of areas, but they are operating more efficiently. Kroger can't get stock, but the stock they can get is moved efficiently.

Efficient doesn't necessarily mean effective, especially when there are tremendous outside pressures and effects.

316 >>sadly, he will get 6 months house arrest at most. Lucky if it will be that much; but I maintain that punishment is not the point of Durham's actions, the purpose is more long term than that.

I don't disagree that exposing the vast web of corruption in our government and ruling elite is the ultimate goal, been saying from day 1 that my biggest goal is to get our country back to at least a reasonable representation of what it was meant to be.

But I think some people will do time. That's why Durham isn't just indicting people in DC. He specifically chose to indict Danchenko in EDVA, Durham's old turf and a much friendlier court, and not DC.

Turns out he knows how the system works just like we do.

Imposing it and making it work are two different things. If they were doing this when times were good they might have pulled it off; but we're headed into a hyperinflationary collapse, and systems are already failing everywhere. If you could look at a symbolic control board for the nation, every red light would be flashing and alarms would be going off everywhere.

385 Wag the Dog:

Michael Malice said "Imagine you are a democrat congressman. If you vote against (I forget which issue, but it was one the regime media was fully for, while the dems were lukewarm) then thousands of MSN viewers are going to primary you in a couple years."

The media is the cause, our banana republic politics is the effect.

That's right -- she avoided teen pregnancy.

Hopes and prayers for a world in which she finds success.

Congrats Geek. Well done. My son who turned 21 in January is surprising us with his new maturity and work habits. I think it was spurred by his black HS friend who killed his 'friend' Keb over an argument about a pair of Nike's and then failed to carjack a car and shot the driver in the eye. Jordan, the shooter and Keb were parked in our driveway the night before obviously looking to visit Sam, my sone. My wife reported them to the police around 3:00 AM and they were rousted by the cops to leave. I think Sam is wondering whether they were looking for a place to crash or to rob him. A real situational awareness wakeup call.

A story that will define Biden in history for the small minded, petty man that he is. When combined with Ashley's sex story, the Secret Service tales, and Biden's forcible penetration of an employee, I think history will paint him as sexually bizarre as well.

388 Tulsi Gabbard Ruins Clinton in Fiery 60-Second Video, Says What Must Happen Now That Truth Is Out

The Durham investigation makes clear that Hillary Clinton and the power elite spied on the Trump campaign and White House, undermining our democracy, launching us into a new Cold War, endangering America and the world. Clinton and her warmongers must be held accountable.

390 This notion of romantic love between people of the same sex comes from Plato and The Symposium, where homo love is lauded as "spiritual procreation," as opposed to the mere physical procreation that happens between male and female. So...not much has changed in 2500 years. It was normalized then, and it is becoming normalized now.

391 I am repeating what I said yesterday. There is no longer a Remington Arms company. It filed bankruptcy in 2020 and was sold off piece by piece to seven other companies. The settlement was with the insurance company. That however does not make as eye popping headline for either pro or anti second amendment proponents. The Daily Caller link in JJs post has an accompanying link to a 2020 article of Remington before their sale. Even OAN posted on chyron this morning that Remington Arms agreed to pay $73 M.

393 But none of that matters. They now have a talking point for the SOTU, which may have been the goal. The Great and Powerful Biden - who is totally not an unstable and angry old dotard - prevented war in Eastern Europe and will tackle the major domestic issues like inflation and supply chain problems - especially microchips and fertilizers - just as soon as Congress gets off its duff and passes BBB.

Completely wrong.

Nobody bought the premise. If for no other reason than Joe's too stupid.

Joe needs the "threat" of war to blame energy and price hike on. Without it, he's toast.

Nope. Seemed like a slobbering knob shine of a love letter to the Clintons then, so I did not watch it.

Plus, I hate John Travolta. I cannot think of a single movie with him in it that I actually liked. Face/Off is ruined by him. Swordfish (Halle Berry's boobs aside) was unwatchable.

401 It's per the BLS productivity statistics broken down by industry. The basis for that is units of revenue per units of cost. If the ratio goes up, you've improved productivity. If it goes down, your productivity declined.

Posted by: Joe Mannix
---------
Aggregate measures do not indicate the productivity increases or decreases of a specific company. It is an ecological fallacy.
Took a look at the aggregate productivity measures for retail in 2018-2020 probably driven by online shopping. However, for online retailers' regarding efficiency, you also have to take into account increased shipping costs and the labor hired to do it. To the extent that Amazon has taken on that infrastructure itself, you have to figure the whole package for the overall retail analysis. On places like Kroger, pairing with instacart gets the packages to the customer but you are essentially trading off labor in retail for labor in delivery.

So an aggregate measure of retailer productivity tells us little about the overall system productivity and even less about specific companies use of labor productively.

402 Travolta was decent in Pulp Fiction, if you like Pulp Fiction. Basic is kind of a silly Travolta film that's nonetheless entertaining. Before that, maybe Blowout?

404 If Primary Colors was a love letter to the Clintons, I'd hate to see what hate mail would look like. Portrayed Bill as a child molester AT BEST and Hillary as exactly what we all knew Hillary was in the 90s. And it blatantly shows an Arkanicide in the final act.

405 The McConnell Problem defined:

Lost in all of McConnell's machinations is a basic point of ethics: yes, it's good to win elections, but shouldn't you be worthy of winning?

The good fortune McConnell expects this fall is nothing of Mitch McConnell's making. He simply expects to hold the bag open and watch the voters pour goodies into it for him.

And that isn't enough. It isn't good leadership. It isn't leadership at all.

=============
I assume you mean "economic fallacy", and if so I disagree. Unit productivity matters a lot in managing business costs, yes, but overall productivity in the economy (a different problem entirely) is a significant fact in understanding monetary inflation or deflation. At least is was when I spent dreary hours in econ classes.

408 I've said it before, and I'll say it again:

The police are largely there to protect the criminals from the excesses of vigilante justice, as much, or even more, than they are to protect us from the criminals.

A very large portion of the US population would be perfectly capable, and while not exactly excited about it, perfectly willing to defend their property and themselves from crime.

It's just that the actual way in which they would choose to often go about it might not exactly be the best outcome for civilized society. Look at the Ahmaud Arbery case for an example of what I'm talking about.

Defunding the police is folly, and will result in the unintended consequence of getting MORE criminals and MORE innocents killed than are currently being killed by police.

I'm not suggesting that we couldn't do better than we currently are. All I'm saying is that the proposed "fixes" are not going to make anything better.
