4 Still short handed at work so I volunteered to work the mid-shift on Sundays. Only until someone is hired and trained. Step up, do my part, and all.

This is the 1st weekend and I'm already regretting that offer!

8 Mornin' again, folken,

Time for a little breakfast, a shave, and then I'll look over my state tax form. A quick check earlier this week suggests I'm actually due a tiny refund. Maybe if I mail my return early (it's not due until 5/15), I'll see the check before summer. (Of course, "summer" here begins in April, when it doesn't start in March.)

The Fed tax form is already in the mail. Two hundred smackers due back to me there. And I received a letter from Social Security, telling me my monthly check will start coming on the 4th Wednesday of every month beginning with March. If I make the formal retirement move in June or July, I should be okay. Especially if I can pick up some extra money doing online editing. Optimistic, I know.

10 Peele doesn't seem racist in comedy he did with Key, and I don't think you could be virulently racist and be married to a white woman. Also, there are whites who like his comedy. Do I think they'll be racial humor-yes, but I don't think the movie will be a hate whites fest

11 8 Wolfus, early retirement presents a lot of opportunity. When the mills back in OH were in their last days, early retirement offers started. It was a matter of math if you would take it. Guy down the street figured the difference and it amounted to him working for $200 a week. He took the offer, supplemented his income with a rural paper route that ended at the reservoir where he fished. Another guy bought a wood splitter and a snow plow. Your situation, online editing, is great as you work at home.

Both he an Keegan Michael Key have white mothers, were raised in relatively affluent settings, went to Ivy league schools and everything they do is tinged with racism and racialism as if the country was Alabama in the '50s.

And unironically, both are married to white women, I'm sure when they have sex with their wives they wear Thomas Jefferson costumes and yell out during climax.... THIS IS FOR YOU SALLY, THIS IS FOR YOU!!!

Well, this is hardly early retirement; I'm a couple of years past the "traditional" retirement age. Still healthy, though. Some years ago my employer offered such early retirement packages, I think 1/2 your annual salary in a lump sum plus assistance finding a new job. It was too soon for me then. If they offered it now, believe me, I'd say, "Who do I have to kill to make this happen?"

29 Also, since I've filed my fed taxes, I hope my 2021 salary will show up soon in my retirement listing and boost my check a tiny bit. 2021's salary was definitely among the top 35 years' earnings. If it doesn't show in a month or two, I guess I'll have to call them to get the data updated.

In a just society, that depraved, crooked bitch would have been dragged naked through the streets and hanged from a lamp-post years ago, to the roar of much public cheering and applause. The fact that we have turned a blind eye to this lunatic's criminal behavior for years, and wasted millions of tax dollars "investigating" the phony "Trump crimes" that she and her minions staged, does not speak well of us as a country.

45 This was known long ago:

Hillary Clintons 2016 presidential campaign paid an internet company to infiltrate servers at Trump Tower and the White House in order to link Donald Trump to Russia, a bombshell new legal filing alleges.

The Friday filing from a Department of Justice prosecutor tasked with investigating the origins of the FBIs Russian probe served to throw cold water on Democrats longstanding allegations of collusion.

Posted by: rhennigantx at February 13, 2022 07:05 AM (yrol0)

46 The Clinton spy story will be memory holed by Monday. Sadly even if Trump was in office and evidence of these crimes was sufficient to put people in prison that still wouldn't happen. The justice system here is broken beyond repair. The systemic problems we have are not going to be solved by elections or voting. When the majority figures that out we'll see change. Whether or not it'll be for the better is up for debate.

No statement released, however, during the past 2 years when 10s of 1000s of people were hurt by needless shutdowns that impacted the economy drastically, resulting in untold numbers of businesses going out of business and bankrupting the people that owned them and the workers that lost their jobs who worked in those places.

125 Georgia voters face an extreme risk that [ballot marking device]-based attacks could manipulate their individual votes and alter election outcomes, Halderman, a University of Michigan computer science professor, said about the report last year, according to the Daily Beast.

In its reporting, the Atlanta Journal-Constitution has indicated that the report, completed last year, describes how someone could hack the system to change votes, without saying whether or not this was ever accomplished.

I think this is done by 1) marking the vote as unreadable (that means machine readable), 2) then batch processing all the unreadable ballots, and 3) assigning a number to each candidate as a share of the ballots.

"NOPE" concerns the invasion of Earth by the white aliens of Planet Maneeloh, who have received the random radio broadcasts from Earth for decades and who consider Barry Manilow a living god.
Particularly, because of the song "Copacabana".

The Earthlings don't rever Barry Manilow means that they are all godless heretics and must be eliminated. Especially, Black people because the white aliens really, really hate the funk.

The climax comes down to a face-off between the white aliens and Barry Manilow versus the Resurrected Ghost of James Brown fronting Parliament.

I am still convinced trying to look at vote totals days after the election the vote counts were manipulated.

During Giulliani's multiple presentations, it was revealed that over two dozen, USB Keys that the Dominion System uses to collect, store, aggregate and tabulate vote totals were stolen from an election office in PA.

Not only was the country awash in a see of unaccountable ballots, they had enough USB sticks with phony votes on them to make up any difference they needed.

That's why you saw lop-sided spikes in votes in several key swing states, that was them injecting phantom votes into the system.

In just 1 in Dallas precinct 28% of the ballots were returned to the voter to be cured.

I have said here many time I believe about 15% to 25% of all voters in the major Texas counties are not eligible to vote.

First group is those that have note properly updated their registration when they moved. Second group is those voting others ballots that were mailed to old address. Third is just made up fake voters.

Modern Election Theory.
Everyone can vote. Only some have the clear Right to vote. The dead, illegal aliens, pets, cartoon characters and copier machines can all vote. Only American citizens eighteen or older have a Right to vote.

Elections are won by a plurality of ballots. Ballots and Votes have no correlation. You or anyone can vote and get a vanity sticker for participating in the common civil ritual, but your vote doesn't matter beyond that. Ballots do. And you have no control over what ballots are counted.

Actually, looking at the trailer for "NOPE", I'm pretty sure it'll turn out to be a steal?/variation?/homager? to that old "new" (I believe) Twilight Zone from the 90s(?),

where aliens came and made a deal to "get rid" of all the Black people on Earth by taking them away and the remaining Earthlings got goodies.

Of course, the EEEEEEvil white people made the deal, and the understandably terrified Black people were loaded onto ships, only to find that this was their own Black "Rapture" and they were going to a Paradise Planet to live and thrive among the stars.

"Nope" will be something like that. Terrified Black people floated away while everyone else, suffers the wrath of Gaia, or the sun explodes, or there's a plague, something along those lines. But, it'll turn out that getting floated away was the best thing that could've happened during the "bad miracle".
Hence, the title, "Nope".

Posted by: Jewells45 deplorablethug#FJB at February 13, 2022 07:45 AM (nxdel)

That fixed income may be it. If you're on a regular W-2, you get a whole bunch withheld to cover what you owe and then some in case you get a raise, get overtime, etc., and then get the refund at tax time. Fixed income is fixed, so they know exactly how much to withhold, I'm guessing. Anything else you earn on top of that doesn't get withheld unless you yourself set up the withholding, so you wind up basically owing on whatever you earned over and above that fixed income.

I got a Climate change vibe with all the power failures for "Nope". But, Peele's schtick is racial animosity, so that will figure heavily in it. That's why I think looking at the trailer that it will follow that old "new" TZ episode's general plot line.

249 Panamanian Geisha is 37 bucks, less 5 %, ranging up in price to much higher prices for the rarer kinds.

I roasted that exact variety last week, it is also very expensive for the marginal taste benefit over other Arabica coffees in that region.

If you let the green beans sit longer than a year and a half, or roast then more than a few weeks before consumption or drink coffee brewed more than fifteen minutes after being ground, or if you fortify your drink with sugar a/o dairy, then you wasted your money on something you can't detect.

I prefer whatever Yemen exported last season over everything else this year.

Family member got me a pound of jamaican blue mountain coffee when in Jamaica on a cruise. Stuff was smooth and had more caffeine. Exactly what a coffee expert like me (former USN) loves! The stuff that is sold here as Jamaican Blue Mountain coffee is usually a mix of Jamaican with other beans. If it tastes smooth as silk and makes every hair on your body stand up, then you got the good stuff. Just my opinion.

292 Yemen? OK, I'll give that a try. Honestly I didn't know Yemen was a good coffee producer. I mostly associate them with war. What is your opinion of Kenyan?

Kenyan, depends on the variety and where grown, of course, but tends to be much more complex.

Yemen is a crap shoot, or at least it has in the past because there has been no rigor in the handling of the beans. Bascally someone drives up in a truck to the various coffee farms and throws whatever into the back, it gets hauled down to sealevel and sits for an indeterminant time.

I tried Yemen on the strong recommendation of a number of Iraqi and Saudi friends. A good batch of Yemen is superior to JBM and Kona. A not so good patch, it has a more rustic flavor. For Yemen, YMMV. I get it whenever it is available.

They were thinking about indicting everyone who admitted to voting for Trump. So not really a surprise. The NYT and WaPo were continually bloviating about how they wanted to indict Don Jr, but in the end they had the pesky little problem of needing at least some kind of evidence to base it on.

Everything Mueller's shit-show did was "Sentence first, Charges Second, Evidence - well it we have to we'll make some up!"

Another way Buzzfeed could have written this was "Evidence doesn't exist to support charges against Trump Jr." but instead, they wrote it as "soon....soon..." sort of teaser, obviously hoping for mo' better out of some future investigation.
