I'm plodding along adding to my personal classical music playlist and have now passed 3800 pieces, on the way to 5000. I've been listening for over 50 years and it's amazing the amount of beautiful, powerful, moving music I'm coming across from composers I've never heard of up to now.

I wish I hadn't.
Took my five year old skiing for first time. Gave him a small push down the bunny hill. But he headed off course and started heading towards, ironically, the first aid building. He panicked, naturally. But instead of falling he tried to turn back toward me and caused a spiral fracture in his tibia. Sadly, just the first of many more screwups as a dad.

Go with a buddy/buddyette that is the exact same beginner level as you. Take it easy the first two days then do more challenging things day three. Day four you're finally getting to mind blowing fun. It takes a while to get there but its worth it. Go with people that are more experienced and they'll push you onto white slopes the first day that exhaust or break you.
So get a friend that is at your level and learn together. Great fun.

Its all the shorter distance to their center of gravity from the ground along with the size of their board or ski. If it was all proportional their skis or board would be very tiny but that would look ridiculous. So they have a natural static/dynamic stability advantage. It takes more force to perturb them from equilibrium and less restoring force to return them to equilibrium once perturbed. They have a much larger static dynamic margin than you or I do.

I'd imagine that this here Horde could easily put forth a goodly number of willing (and able) couriers. Of course, being Canuckistan deliveries, we'd have to work sans sidearms, so it'd be best to work in teams of two or three. Two for the backup, a third to run interference or cause distractions.
Pity, we'd not be able to supply 'em the huge number of couriers they'd need. But, there's some talent 'round these parts. There surely is.

The advent of elliptical skis made things really easy for once and awhile skiers like me. Skiing was always better with a group and we all rented out a mountain chalet. There were teenage shenanigans!

It was actually just the opposite for me. Shaped skis screwed me up for a couple of years. But then, I had averaged about 25 days a year on the slopes for about 30 years by that point (started skiing at 12).

I think I've decided that Paxton has done a good enough job to keep it, in spite of the fact that I did not support him when he first ran. I skied Vail probably 20 times, and only had 1 really good powder day there. Was skiing with a buddy of mine and it was sooooo cold we had to stop every couple of runs to warm up. But we kept going because it was so cold, the back bowls were basically empty.

The real key came with the Patriot Act. Congress decided that the big problem was that the 'Intelligence' agencies did not share enough info with each other... and so broke down the legal barriers to them looking at each others data.
so while the CIA cannot spy on Americans, they can send a contractor to look at the NSA data... and vice versa.

The Huffines family owns a chain of dealerships in North Texas, that's his background. That doesn't make him good or bad, but its where his money comes from. Well, that and real estate developments. He served two terms in the Texas Senate, and he appears to have done a good job. He's a conservative, no doubt, but I don't think he has much executive experience at all.

The real key came with the Patriot Act. Congress decided that the big problem was that the 'Intelligence' agencies did not share enough info with each other... and so broke down the legal barriers to them looking at each others data.
so while the CIA cannot spy on Americans, they can send a contractor to look at the NSA data... and vice versa.

Yet they were (supposedly) clueless about everything about the Afghan National Army. The poor morale, the inflated troop numbers so commanders could draw the pay and rations of the imaginary troops, ghosts, the numerous Taliban fighters in all the units, and more!
