The Saturday Night Joke

The Lone Ranger's Last Request

The Lone Ranger was ambushed and captured by an enemy Indian War Party.

The Indian Chief proclaims, "So, YOU are the great Lone Ranger" ...

"In honour of the Harvest Festival, yOU will be executed in three days."

"Before I kill you, I grant you three requests"

"What is your FIRST request???'

The Lone Ranger responds,"I'd like to speak to my horse."

The Chief nods and Silver is brought before the Lone Ranger who whispers in
Silver's ear, and the horse gallops away.

Later that evening, Silver returns with a beautiful blonde woman on his back.
As the Indian Chief watches, the blonde enters the Lone Ranger's tent and spends the night.

The next morning the Indian Chief admits he's impressed.
"You have a very fine and loyal horse",

"But I will still kill you in two days."

"What is your SECOND request???"

The Lone Ranger again asks to speak to his horse.
Silver is brought to him, and he again whispers in the horse's ear.

As before, Silver takes off and disappears over the horizon.

Later that evening, to the Chief's surprise, Silver again returns, this time with a voluptuous brunette, more attractive than the blonde.

She enters the Lone Rangers tent and spends the night.

The following morning the Indian Chief is again impressed.
"You are indeed a man of many talents,"

"But I will still kill you tomorrow."

"What is your LAST request ???"

The Lone Ranger responds, "I'd like to speak to my horse, .... alone."

The Chief is curious, but he agrees, and Silver is brought to the Lone Ranger's tent.

Once they're alone, the Lone Ranger grabs Silver by both ears, looks him square in the eye and says,

"READ MY LIPS!!!!"
FOR... THE... LAST... TIME...

"BRING POSSE"

In the event you did not like tonight's picture above the fold this next link might just be for you.

The Ultimate Vegan Fast Food Items, Ranked
From Burger King nuggets to the McPlant, plant-based alternatives have become endless. Here's everything you need to know.

It's January, which means one thing: A bunch of people have been trying out veganism, as is tradition (who knows when or why “Veganuary” came to be, but we're here now). It also means that food joints across the country have been dropping tasty new menu items to appeal to rookie and veteran vegan eaters alike (see: the new vegan Babybel, Papa John's vegan all-day breakfast pizza, plant-based Philadelphia cream cheese).

Once again I ask, if being vegan is so good why do you imitate meat products? Why not just eat your beans & kale?

Thai Man Lives in Perfect Harmony With Eight Young Wives

A tattoo artist in Thailand has been getting a lot of attention online after it was revealed that he shares his home with eight young wives, all of whom get along great with each other.

Ong Dam Sorot, a young tattoo artist specializing in the traditional yantra style, recently sat down with a popular Thai comedian for an interview about his controversial marital status. Sorot is married not to one woman, but to eight, all of whom live under the same roof and consider themselves one big happy family. On the show, which has so far garnered over 3 million views on YouTube alone, Ong Dam Sorot introduced each of his wives and spoke about how they met. The eight women described their husband as the kindest, most considerate man on Earth and claimed to get along wonderfully.

This Grandpa worked out his day quite well.

A BRIT has died while visiting a "happy ending" massage parlour in Thai party resort Pattaya after a frantic masseuse tried to revive him.

Robert John Swain, 70, stripped off his clothes and was lying naked on a massage table while masseuse Miss Oraya rubbed oils into his back when she suddenly realised something was wrong.

Loss of taste, loss of smell, but not a loss of an erection. Or so they say.

A persistent erection, medically called priapism, has been seen in a number of unlucky Covid patients.

When there are no other obvious causes, it’s easy to presume the virus is the cause of the symptom.

In a new report published in the journal Urology, medics in Vienna, Austria, described the case of a 12-year-old boy with priapism.

12 year old boy? You sure he wasn't hooked on PornHub?

If this is the "Perfect Cure" why is she not a Gazillionaire and posting this shit on Tik-Tok?

A dietician based in New York City has shared a recipe for a drink that she calls the ‘ultimate hangover cure.’

The best part? You only need four ingredients.

Successfully curing a hangover is something millions of party-goers have been trying to figure out for centuries.

What works for one may not work for another – but headaches and nausea are usually the common culprits.

97 So for Christmas 2020 I got my wife two tickets to Elton John's wrapup concert in Oklahoma City.

Remembering how *disappointed* she was with the seats I got for Billy Joel's 2016 concert (nosebleed level), I broke the bank and paid for first-tier seats. The concert was for July 2021. I hoped to please her.

Then the Fauci Flu hit. The show was finally rescheduled for tomorrow.

Wife told me last weekend that she's reluctant to be in a crowd of unmasked, unvaccinated people. (Like me.)

Only today did I learn that she will indeed go to the show.

So ... will she be pleased?

The world wonders.

When George Shultz was Secretary of State, he would meet with new ambassadors, and in the course of the interview, would ask the ambassadors to go to a globe and indicate where their country was.

Almost invariably, the new ambassador would point to the country that they were assigned to.

Shultz would respond: "Your country is the United States. It is your job to represent the interests of the United States."

Since ambassadors have a habit of "going native", and advocating for the country that they are assigned to, it was a useful lesson.

Remittances from Ukrainians abroad are 11% of Ukrainian GNP. (By contrast, Mexican remittances as a percent of GNP is 3.8%, despite all the Mexicans in the United States.)

Old vet I know feeds squirrels. He is slowly going paraplegic because the VA is refusing to do a surgery, and he has nerve pain. He says the squirrels are better for his pain than taking more opiates, which the VA is arguing that he should not have because of Fentanyl ODs.

Glad you know enough to know who and why to hate and abuse.

Probably not a lot - I wouldn't have a lot of long-term faith in land deeds issued by the Ukrainian government.

They won't let in Muslims (except for a few Central Asians from the former USSR), Russia's population is declining too (but much less rapidly), so it's unclear who will come in eventually.

My cousin, the retired meteorologist, tends to go on rants about the Weather Channel, the sensationalizing of weather coverage, and the shenanigans of the local TV News weather guys.

The latest rant he went on was calling any cold air mass "arctic air". No, arctic air is actually arctic air, it comes from you know, the arctic, when conditions develop that push a mass of it down. It's just pure sensationalizing, he says.

He about blew a gasket about the trend to name winter storms.

423 All the usual suspects continue to freak out over Ukraine, certain a total invasion is coming. Talking open source public people, not leaders (though that continues, too).

Still seems completely out of character for Putin to make such a dumb move with no real point and open-ended costs.

Top concern/demand from Moscow, including in formal talks, for quite a while, has been: no Ukrainian NATO membership. Invading Ukraine will be the biggest boost* to NATO since 1991, especially the only really interested members (eastern Europe). Ukraine wasn't getting into NATO, and Moscow knows this. Odd.

Crimea was a huge provocation, but had very clear concrete benefits and purpose. Nothing of the sort visible in this situation.

425 I see the convoy is in Ottawa and blockading one street in front of the Government building with a claimed 100 trucks.

I'm also given to understand there are US truckers already across the border to show solidarity.

Lastly, there is a convoy being organized in CA to run across the country and end up in DC for the same reason. Wouldn't that be tremendous? It could easily be the impetus to crush the Scamdemic.

435 Still seems completely out of character for Putin to make such a dumb move with no real point and open-ended costs.

In theory we spend all that money on a State Department and the National Security apparatus to know what Putin wants and how far he is willing to go to get it.

439 In ancient Jerusalem, under the rule of the wise King Solomon, there were two beggars that routinely asked for alms from worshippers returning from the temple at the entrance of an alleyway off of the market square, as they were destitute and afflicted in such a way that they struggled to feed themselves.

The first man, Doug, was elderly and stricken blind. As the market was often crowded with beggars, Doug had taken up juggling apricots to gain the attention of the passing worshippers.

The second man, Jacob, was stricken with leprosy and sat against a building just a feet yards away from Doug begging for relief.

Posted by: Bitter Clinger at January 30, 2022 12:06 AM (dbs6Z)

440 The two became fast friends and often talked of the history of their forefathers and the history of Israel. Though they were considered outcasts and pitied among the Jews, they were faithful keepers of the history of their people, which earned them the pity of a young Rabbi who would often bring them food and talk with them.

One afternoon, the Rabbi was visiting, and Doug noted that the alms received were so scant that he often went days without food. Jacob nodded, adding that his earnings left him hungry most days. Both men noted that they appealed to the Lord for provision in their prayers.

The Rabbi, taking pity and not wanting the men to lose faith, came up with a plan. "Doug," said the Rabbi, "though your juggling is a feat for a blind man, I fear the worshippers are not easily impressed. Perhaps if I taught you how to twirl flaming sticks, your show might be more impressive.

445 Doug thanked the Rabbi graciously, but asked what of his friend Jacob.

"Well the way I see it," the Rabbi said, "you two, set up at the far end of the market at this alleyway. If you moved your spot closer to the temple, you would have more traffic and by proxy receive more alms."

"Thank you! Thank you, Rabbi!" exclaimed Jacob. "But the vendors and traders set up near the Temple. Won't they run us off?"

"Don't worry," the Rabbi said, "I will seek an audience with King Solomon and gain his approval."

447 The next day the the young Rabbi was granted a meeting with King Solomon and put forth his request. Two vendors also waiting to speak with the King overheard the request and began to protest loudly. "Our King, beggars by the temple will destroy our business! People will fear contracting leprosy from the man and it will drive away our customers."

"Nonsense," says the Rabbi. "If anything a blind man twirling flaming sticks will attract a crowd."

The two vendors and the Rabbi looked to the wise King for his ruling, expectantly.

Solomon thought for a moment and said "This is my decree. Rabbi, you may try to teach old Doug new tricks, but a leper can't change his spots."

469 Sorry if this has already been posted -- I've not been here much this week.

TL;DR:

A 17-year-old boy sexually assaulted a 10-year-old girl, but didn't get caught for many years. His lawyer has argued (apparently successfully) that he should do his time in juvie, even though he's now 26.

It gets worse: after being arrested, he declared himself to be "transgendered", so he'll be doing his time in *female* juvie.

Yeah. You read it right. A 26-year-old man with a history of sexually assaulting female children is going to be put into a detention facility for female children.

The lines drawn by execution and abortion (which were similar in time frame) show the complete inversion by the commies. On the one hand, you cannot kill a man who has proven by his own action to be a danger to society. However a complete tabula rasa is fair game. Actions mean nothing.

515 The CanukTruck parade needs a couple of those Ultra Heavy "Rotator" crane type wrecker-trucks in lead of the procession. Shit like a "closed bridge", well the cranes just hook onto whatever SWAT Bobcat is parked in the way, and lift it aside like yesterday's garbage.

the only time I ever got a really good look at one (and it was brown) was when I came up on this huge bird standing in the middle of a rural blacktop, eating a baby pig. Damn, I must say I'm impressed with how tight and insulated this new house is, and the heat pump's performance.

It's a good bit below 20F here, probably 17F down in this low spot. The heat pump is still cycling. We've got the propane gas fire on the den, which puts out about 43K BTU/hr. That's helping some, of course.

Up at my parent's, the heat pump starts running continuously when it gets below 32 or so. The strips just cycle then, and when it gets this cold, the strips are on more than off.

But this thing is still cycling the whole thing. I'm impressed.

608 The years when Joni Mitchell and Judi Collins were ascendant, were about as Peak late '60s/early'70s as one could imagine. Their music was perfect and of the times.

But, it was perfect *for* the times, and not all of it endures, save for a few classics.

Carole King though, while her voice ground-down to sawdust and rust, her music endures and remains among the greats. If you don't have "Tapestry" in your collection, then your collection is not yet complete. That, and Pink Floyd's "Dark Side of the Moon", aren't mere albums. They're time machines, and will transport you back to whatever your groove was back in THAT time.

Back in my hippie phase (85-87), I rather liked Joan Baez's 1975 album "Diamonds and Rust", particularly its title track (which Judas Priest covers splendidly). Baez's album is rather eclectic, covering the Allman Brothers, John Prine, Stephen Foster, Stevie Wonder, Bob Dylan, and, yes, she has a duet with Joni Mitchell. The studio crew included Larry Carlton and David Paich (Toto).

615 Lizzie Borden wanted cheese, sat beneath the cow to squeeze. Gave the udders forty whacks, churned the milk to cheesy wax.

In that no milk'd hit the pail, despairing such she'd set to bail. At that moment, Bessie Cow, chose her moment to stomp n' bowle.

From now on poor Lizzie's known, as under grass by hoof was sown.

I'm glad I'm not in Asheville right now.

I'm intrigued by those little weather stations. I love the rainfall meter they have. A little funnel and cup. Cup fills with water from the funnel, and when it gets heavy enough, it trips and dumps and triggers a count signal. Rainfall rate is determined from the dump count rate.

My cousin I've talked about has some really fancy shit himself. He's got some rain gauges accurate to 0.01". His stuff is not cheap by a long shot. Very accurate thermometers and barometers and wind speed, plus a bunch of other instruments.

665 "ultimate hangover cure"

Oddly enough I don't appear to be capable of getting a hangover. Either I wake up the next day feeling amazing, or I wake up still spectacularly hammered and stay that way until it wears off.

You would think this was a good thing but I consider it to be kind of a wash; you can't really do anything productive if you're either smashed or asleep for a day and a half, and there doesn't seem to be any way to speed up the process of sobering up.

666 Hi Kestrel, My hubs addressed me for the first time as "Sir" tonight, I feel like Peppermint Patty. This is not who I am!!!

Mine usually works that I just do not get hangovers. Do not sleep any extra. Might feel a bit out of it the next day, but not hung over. Within reason. There seems to be a barrier to the amount I can drink and when I do have a hangover, they SUCK. Maybe 5 lifetime.

I was pleased that my genetics still seemed to be in place about 5 years ago on a business trip where we got hammered six nights in a row. No hangover.

668 That makes him Marci. Which is kinda weird. I mean, unless that's your thing.

669 Hi Debby! I was just reading the North Attleboro "Comical" and saw there was thundersnow up there. I made this mistake of reading some letters to the editor by liberals. *sigh*

Anyway, how did the bread come out?

Posted by: Miley, the Duchess at January 30, 2022 03:16 AM (Mzdiz)

670 Oh... Debs...Heaven help you.

Got any fun projects going on?

I've got a jigsaw puzzle waiting to be dumped out on the table and assembled.

673 Have you ever started to type out a story and the realized dark humor is not the kind people may want?

Posted by: Aetius451AD at January 30, 2022 03:22 AM (dNqv+)

674 Miley, I got Willowed on some thread this morning extolling the virtues of my no knead bread. I am such an idiot, read tons of comments on the recipe and decided to reduce the salt, based on a number of food Karens saying it was too salty. It smelled great, tasted okay but definitely needed the full amount of salt. I am going to try it again. We got twenty seven inches here today, said no woman ever!!

Posted by: Debby Doberman Schultz at January 30, 2022 03:26 AM (a4EWo)

675 This is a sophisticated crowd. If they don't like dark humours, they'll apply leaches.

Posted by: bear with asymmetrical balls at January 30, 2022 03:26 AM (3YVs3)

676 I never think about what people may want. I write what *I* want.

Besides, dark humor is absolutely essential, especially nowadays.

Did you have the Kerrygold butter to go with it?

Hey, got a link to your recipe? I'm curious.

Miley, This is the best I can do. Also, cracked the little knob on the top of my Lodge Dutch oven heating it at 450 degrees for half an hour. Anyway, I am not giving up on the recipe, considering what I am dealing with it is a quick and easy pathway to home baked bread.

680 So, Rekeita Law is a law tuber (he streams trials and brings other lawyers on to discuss.) Got a lot of followers during the Rittenhouse trial.

He was following a trial a couple weeks ago about a young guy who killed his parents and then chopped up the bodies. Because his Dad had found out that he was lying about a job at SpaceX. They did not find all the pieces.

So, one of his fans sent Rekeita a jigsaw puzzle. It was a picture of the guy's parents. Rekeita's wife opened the package and thought it was so nice that a fan had sent a puzzle with a picture of them and his family and so Rekeita had to explain to his wife the meaning of a jigsaw puzzle of this particular family.

Yeah, just a bit. It is insane that some fan downloaded a picture and had a jigsaw puzzle made just to make that joke.

Almost creepy.

685 BTW, Powerline has a nice article about Michael Avenatti's cross examination of Stormy Daniels, it is hilarious. I think it is very important to bombard America with all the clips of CNN and MSNBC promoting Mr. Avenatti as a presidential candidate representing the democrat party. Democracy dies in darkness and stupidity, never forget the stupidity.

Posted by: Debby Doberman Schultz at January 30, 2022 03:43 AM (a4EWo)

686 It's funny as hell. But it is a long way to go to make a joke.

688 Thai women are the most hard core jealous women on the planet. I was there in the 70's and the big news was a woman thought her husband was cheating and cut his dick off and threw it out the window and a duck ate it. Currently Thailand is the number one destination for the most skilled penis reattachment surgeons. And why would that be?

Posted by: AmericanKestrel at January 30, 2022 03:47 AM (IDhUW)

Oh no. I watched a bit of his testimony and let's just say... it should not have been a surprise to the Dad that his son did not get a job with SpaceX.

Plus, he was indisposed. Convicted of all charges.

Posted by: Aetius451AD at January 30, 2022 03:49 AM (dNqv+)

693 Although that trial was interesting for something else: they allowed witnesses to testify with a mask on, if they wanted. I agree with some of the commenters there that that seems wrong. The jury cannot see their face.

Posted by: Aetius451AD at January 30, 2022 03:50 AM (dNqv+)

I would like a small measure of sanity restored.

Posted by: Aetius451AD at January 30, 2022 04:00 AM (dNqv+)

701 Whole point of a jury trial is premised on in-person assessment of witnesses, which includes reading their body language. A lot of communication is non-verbal. A trial with masked witnesses is a jury trial in form but not substance.

Yep. Made various recipes all the time while I lived in Sweden. I still have my textured rolling pin for that.

Debby, I have to say that recipe makes me want to give it a shot, in my new (used) Dutch oven. I'm also going to read up on her Sourdough 101 link.
