The Morning Report - 1/21/22

xijoevladbuterlfy.jpg

Good morning, kids. The weekend is here, and the Wednesday afternoon Joey Soft-Serve Potemkin Village "press conference" marking one year in office was, I suppose, in the minds of his puppet masters, akin to a kidnapper showing proof of life to the abductee's family. What it turned out to be was Vera Miles stumbling upon the desiccated corpse of Mrs. Bates in the fruit cellar. The reaction of even the lowest of low information citizenry was just the same; shrieking and recoiling in horror.

It is absolutely evident that we not only have an individual who for well over 50 years has proven himself to be incompetent, venal and vindictive in the extreme (as well as a liar and a racist to boot) but on top of it is now medically non compos mentis. Worse, those who installed him in the White House and are pulling his strings are, minus the dementia, equally incompetent and manifestly irresponsible owing to a shared worldview that was, is and always will be 180 degrees out of phase with reality. After just one year at the controls, look what they've wrought.

So with an economy in tatters, a border all but erased, real crime being decriminalized, anti-Democrat/Leftist "thought criminals" being hounded by the junta unto destruction, and every metric that gauges the vitality and prosperity of a functioning, flourishing society virtually flatlining because of the giant My Pillow over its face, Vera Miles has whirled around and finds herself face to face with Anthony Perkins in drag, smeared lipstick, and waving a carving knife over "xer" head.

Enrique Roberto "Henry" Cuellar is a Democrat representative for Texas's 28th District, which just happens to encompass a large population area sitting on the southern border. The towns that are entirely or partially within Cuellar's district are Converse, Laredo, Rio Grande City, and Universal City. Every one of these towns has been directly and dramatically affected by Biden's illegal open border policy.

For that reason, Cuellar has been very vocal about opposing Biden's border policies. Because Democrat-run media outlets (the networks, CNN, MSNBC, the print media, etc.) don't want to hear a negative word about a project that's allowed almost 2,000,000 unvetted, unvaccinated, unidentified, and often criminal people from all corners of the earth to flood into America in a single year, the only major media outlet willing to listen to Cuellar has been Fox, where he's made several appearances. Rather than being a slave to party politics, Cuellar is truly representing his constituents who are being destroyed by Biden's policies.

Unfortunately, in Biden's America, if you cross the [junta], sooner or later it seems as if the FBI comes a'knockin'. That's exactly what happened to Cuellar:

Texas Democratic Rep. Henry Cuellar's Laredo home and campaign office were the subject of FBI activity Wednesday evening, according to an FBI spokesperson.

"The FBI was present in the vicinity of Windridge Drive and Estate Drive in Laredo conducting court-authorized law enforcement activity," FBI spokesperson Rosanne Hughes told ABC News. "The FBI cannot provide further comment on an ongoing investigation."

Local news reports showed members of the FBI's Evidence Response Team at Cuellar's campaign office as well.

The FBI declined to provide specifics about the investigation. Local news reports say that boxes were seen being taken from the home.

With primaries looming in March, the DOJ's Department of Public Integrity office has suddenly announced that Cuellar is being probed for campaign finance violations. Do you believe that? . . .

. . . The FBI is giving every indication that it's become the investigative arm of a hyper-partisan Department of Justice that, especially under Merrick Garland, no longer sees America as a level playing field, with the entire nation entitled to Constitutional protections. The events of the last five years have shown us that, if you're on the conservative side of the political divide, the DOJ and police arm, the FBI, have seemingly abandoned

-- the right to be free from unreasonable searches and seizures;
-- the right to have due process of law before being deprived of life, liberty (see, e.g., the January 6 defendants kept in gulag-like circumstances for almost a year), or property (they're also being bankrupted);
-- the right to a speedy trial (see, again the January 6 defendants);
-- the right to an impartial jury (an impossibility in D.C.);
-- and protection against excessive bail, fines, or cruel and unusual punishment.

Of course, having seriously derailed both the Build Back Bolshevism Biggerer and Democrat Legalized Election Rigging Bills for the time being, the Junta is hurling invective at both Krysten Sinema and Joe Manchin. Since it is axiomatic that Democrats/leftists in and out of government are always shielded unless their crimes cannot be effectively covered up or excused, it is more than reasonable to assume that a veteran Dem Congresscritter like Cuellar is being targeted for removal for going against the Junta. That's why it would not surprise me that some form of trumped up charges against Sinema and Manchin are in the offing.

Look what they did to Mike Flynn, Paul Manafort, Roger Stone, Dinesh D'Souza, going further back, Scooter Libby and on and on and on including the poor saps whose braggadocio bullshit about Wretched Whitmer created the myth of tens of thousands of violent white supremacists out to violently overthrow the government. Look what they're about to do to Donald Trump thanks to the bastards at the Supreme Court, with the exception of Clarence Thomas, essentially destroying executive privilege. Democrat superhero Lavrenty Beria's axiom is in full operation; to wit "Show me the man and I'll show you the crime."

Worse, look at what these filthy pukes led by Merrick "Moloch" Garland are doing to the scores of innocent people being held as "insurrectionists" under conditions that make death row look like the friggin' Ritz Carlton. And they're still going at it. The estimable Julie Kelly looks at the persecution of the Oath Keepers and asks "Why did the Justice Department wait over a year to arrest Stewart Rhodes when nearly two dozen other Oath Keepers already have been charged with a conspiracy he orchestrated?"

So, for a few weeks of boasting on Signal private chats and for LARPing on January 6, these Americans are now branded seditionists. In a motion seeking Vallejo's imprisonment until his trial, Biden's Justice Department claimed the Arizona man had participated "in a plot to oppose by force the execution of the laws governing the transfer of presidential power in the United States." Even if true, which it isn't, there is no law that specifically criminalizes an attempt to interfere in the transfer of power; to the contrary, Americans gather every four years in the nation's capital, sometimes violently such as in 2017, to protest and, if possible, halt the inauguration of a president for whom they did not vote.

Charging these men with seditious conspiracy is a new low for a vengeful attorney general and a Justice Department that has just opened a domestic terror unit to expand its prosecutorial and surveillance grip over Democrats' political foes.

The charges are not only opportunistic but cynical as well. As the government well knows, there is less than zero chance the sedition charge will see the light of day in a courtroom. The last time the Justice Department prosecuted anyone for seditious conspiracy was in 2010 and the charges were tossed by a federal judge. . .

. . . According to the indictment, Rhodes purchased tens of thousands of dollars worth of firearms, ammunition, and rifle scopes before and after January 6, making him by far the greatest threat of all the Oath Keepers. It's unlikely investigators just recently discovered these purchases. So why was he a free man for the past 12 months, charged seemingly in response to aggressive questioning in Congress that threatened to upend the liberal insurrection narrative?

Something doesn't add up.

Is it still likely Rhodes worked in some capacity as an informant? Yes. Is the government announcing these bombshell charges now to deflect mounting suspicions that the FBI and other agencies used numerous informants and agents to instigate violence on January 6? Yes. Will these new charges succeed in delaying the first trial in the Oath Keepers case, set for April? Yes.

What they will not do is serve to establish in court that anything like an insurrection took place on January 6. Instead, step by step, this carefully crafted narrative will crumble, eventually taking with it the last shreds of credibility for the Democrats, the Justice Department, and the liberal press.

Meanwhile, as everything collapses in around them, the Junta is now shouting "squirrel" about Russia allegedly moving to invade the Ukraine. That would be the same Russia that supposedly Donald Trump was in cohoots with to steal the 2016 election. Turns out it's the same Russia that Hillary Clinton sold 20% of uranium reserves to. And the same one whose economy was flattened because of the Trump oil and gas boom. Glenn Reynolds dives deeper:

Under Trump, the United States achieved energy independence, becoming a net exporter of oil and natural gas. Gas prices were low. The Keystone Pipeline, furthermore, promised to bring oil from Canada to the US heartland ("ethical oil" activists call it because it doesn't come from a country dominated by dictators or Islamist enemies). Biden canceled that.

Gas prices have since skyrocketed, and people are unhappy, such that even NPR has noticed the Joe Biden "I did that!" stickers sprouting on gas pumps everywhere as ordinary Americans vent their frustrations. As for energy independence, Biden was reduced to begging OPEC to pump more oil to drive prices down. (OPEC, shockingly, declined.) High oil prices help Russia of course, since it's a major oil producer. . .

. . . As for nuclear arms, the Russians and the Chinese aren't even interested in arms-control agreements. They're rushing ahead with new and advanced nuclear-weapons programs while Biden looks at canceling similar US programs.

To be fair, Biden hasn't cut US military spending. However, as August's Afghanistan debacle illustrates, he has managed to make the US military ineffective. The Chinese and the Taliban mocked us on social media after that disastrous defeat. Joint Chiefs chair Gen. Mark Milley, meanwhile, seems more focused on racial education and pronouns. (And there's a swell new video out of Army women dancing in barracks. Take that, Putin!) . . .

. . . So who's the Putin puppet?

No, I'm not saying that Biden is actually Putin's puppet. For one thing, Putin seems to be good at hiring competent help.

But I am saying that Biden is acting in destructive ways that are difficult to distinguish from what he would be doing had he in fact been put in office to weaken the United States and strengthen Russia, Iran and other American enemies.

All of this, of course, is noise, meant to distract you from the growing misery hitting our wallets and the insanity hitting us in the face with the lockdown and vaccine madness of General Tso's Sickness. Funny that with supermarket shelves emptying out, we're resembling the former Soviet Union more and more every day.

Certainly, the censorship and political repression growing more oppressive by the day makes that comparison even more accurate.

Have a good weekend.

20 Texas Democratic Rep. Henry Cuellar should be one of many Democrats being "investigated" by the eff bee eye.

"Should"

But they won't be investigated. Instead the junta will go after Republicans associated with Trump.

Lastly, the decision to go after Cuellar wasn't made in the Oval Office. It was made in an office suite by a low level Democratic operative with a bone to pick with Cuellar for speaking out about illegal immigration and/or crime associated with it.

The country is effectively being run by interns.

That's a big number and it's hard to contextualize. If all of those people were put into one newly-created city, it would be the 5th-largest city in America (not metro area, but city), knocking Phoenix out of the top five.

There were 3.61 million babies born in the United States last year. These two million illegal aliens represent a staggering 36% of all new people in the country last year. Of the ~3.4 million people who died last year, about 37% of them were replaced with an illegal alien.

Way to understate the point. This is about as milquetoast a description that could ever be applied to the FBI.

39 The 2020 election was the freest, fairest, most secure election in US history. So many people turned out to vote that the recorded votes exceeded the number of eligible voters by almost 10 million votes. Anyone who questions this, or the legitimacy of the man "elected" is a treasonous, insurrectionist racist.

Now, after only 12 months of the superlative leadership of the Biden administration, if we do not have a complete take-over of the US election system by the Democrats then we'll never have a legitimate election again.

Seems reasonable.

64 The Music Industry Is In Crisis Because People Are Buying More Old Songs Than New

Two pieces of advice for the music industry.

1. Stop making everything sound the same. You don't need to buy 20 albums if you can't differentiate between them.
2. Tell your artists, particularly the woke ones, to keep their opinions to themselves until they've been retired 20 years.

To date, and I could be missing something, I haven't heard one faint word from any R in Congress on defunding or even revamping this very corrupted organization. Nothing. Personally, I believe them to be so corrupted that they must be dissolved at this point. And I say that just as my own sibling starts their new career with the FBI in the spring.

Point #1 is the bigger problem, I think. It is all the same. It doesn't matter who does it or what genre is involved, it is all more alike than different. There are some specific people for whom this is not true (Adele, for example) but they're individual exceptions. The mass of it is more or less identical.

113 I saw Meatloaf in his prime two times. Both incidental as he was the 2nd on the bill.

There's no denying he had a great voice and worked as hard on stage as Springsteen back in those days to entertain you.

I guess ultimately the problem was career-wise that he was a fat guy drenched in sweat like he'd just eaten five jalapeño Hoagies and flouncing around, flipping a long pink silk scarf hither and thither when he wasn't striking extreme rock star poses.

Although that was probably part of the "in-joke", it made it hard to take him seriously as a rock star.

Godspeed, hoist the flags as we say, go right ahead. The only thing that I want to say now is that their prescriptions are not new at all. It may come as a surprise to some people, but Russia has been there already. After the 1917 revolution, the Bolsheviks, relying on the dogmas of Marx and Engels, also said that they would change existing ways and customs and not just political and economic ones, but the very notion of human morality and the foundations of a healthy society. The destruction of age-old values, religion and relations between people, up to and including the total rejection of family (we had that, too), encouragement to inform on loved ones - all this was proclaimed progress and, by the way, was widely supported around the world back then and was quite fashionable, same as today. By the way, the Bolsheviks were absolutely intolerant of opinions other than theirs."

Putin has a free hand to do what he wants. The Ukraine may/may not put up a spirited defense, but it will do it mostly alone.

After the 1917 revolution, the Bolsheviks, relying on the dogmas of Marx and Engels, also said that they would change existing ways and customs and not just political and economic ones, but the very notion of human morality and the foundations of a healthy society.

Moderna is focusing on how to make people want the vaccine. To overcome "compliance issues," they will combine covid, flu, and RSV vaccines into a single shot for fall 2023. 7/

The danger is you don't know how much Classic Covid and Delta is still lingering around. To me, looking at the charts and the surge, I'm seeing much exposure occurred over the Christmas to New Years holidays. Sealing yourself in a metal tube with a recirculating air system for hours on end might be fine if five or more people have Omicron, but if one person has Classic or Delta, very bad news.

That's just marketing. It's fine. State your case, make your pitch and I'll buy if you've convinced me. This isn't about shifting preferences, though, this is about imposing their will and enforcing compliance. That's not marketing, and that's not choice. That's tyranny.

I think what really needs to be focused is this idea that we could actually do something to stop the spread of respiratory viruses from circulating in populations.

You can't, it's impossible via any method.

Asian countries, if you have ever been to one, demonstrate this fact quite succinctly.
A very large cohort of Chinese, Japanese and Koreans have habitually worn masks for a very long time, even before this plandemic.

Incidence of respiratory virus infections have not abated or ameliorated one iota.
In fact, most of the respiratory viruses we've had to deal with over the last two decades have emerged from these countries.
I'm just of hearing this garbage about masks. They don't work in the manner these people are suggesting and they know that.

268 254 note on Cuellar - I'd be careful about voicing too much support for him, he's from Laredo. And *everyone* with power from Laredo has been strongly "suspected" of being on the payroll of one or more of the Cartels for a long time now. I wouldn't be surprised if this has been an "open secret" to the Dems, and they're just prosecuting him because they're mad at him. But I also wouldn't be surprised to find that they have evidence that Cuellar has been a bag man for the Zetas, or one of the others.

I think part of this is that whatever you may think of Vladimir, he is a Nationalist and loves Mother Russia, so he may not be fully on board with that Great Reset thing, thus like Trump he must be diminished.

But I really think that those in the pro-life movement will not be alone. I think there'll be a chorus of voices that have never been heard in this world but are heard beautifully and clearly in the next world -- and they will plead for everyone who has been in this movement. Remember the satanic cult child corruption nonsense from this country back in the 90s? The total hysteria and recovered memories and children put under oath to tell stories about live kids being sacrificed to Satan in their preschool cellars? And yet despite all that hysteria and all that testimony and all the exposes and special features on the news, they never found actual evidence of that harrowing stuff? No parents talking about their kids being murdered by their preschool teachers?

It was outlandish in the extreme and utterly unsupported with any evidence, but it still became a cultural phenomenon.

It's one of two rights affected - if they waived time, then it's inadequacy of counsel for waiving it forever and not a reasonable period. And if they didn't waive time, it's literally a speedy trial violation. Either way, our reps/senators should really be focused solely on this issue til something happens - defunding DC or DOJ (or holding up funding in the next CR in Feb) would go a long way to make something happen...

They aren't trying to convince anybody. They don't care if you believe them or not. That's not the point.

Make sure y'all check the calories and ingredients. There's often some deceptive marketing in these type items, like advertising that there's 2000 calories and four servings. . .and it's 500 calories per serving. Also they tend to be high carb, low protein, and high sodium if that matters for your dietary needs or restrictions. I've found that they're generally OK for a meal or two, but not something that I'd plan on subsisting off exclusively if I have a choice. I'd also recommend getting a small quantity and taste testing before you purchase en masse. The quality varies across brands and discovering that the product is less than pleasing to your palate is best before SHTF.

Youngkin was a GOPe neophyte who has proven over the past few days that he's willing to do something. This doesn't mean he's suddenly a great candidate for 2024, or anything. It just means that new GOPe people seem to understand that actual policy wins for the base are important, at least before any real pressure begins. He could still fold like a cheap suit. It's been like four days. We'll see.

McCarthy has a long history of being a nobody who is afraid of everybody around him. He's afraid of the base. He's afraid of his donors. He's afraid of the press. He's afraid of Democrats. He's proven himself to be a spineless weasel who believes in nothing but his own advancement. It's not about GOPe or not with him. It's about his lack of ruthlessness. Boehner was ruthless and against us. McCarthy is spineless and on nobody's side but his own.

That's most of the ins and outs of politics. It takes a big event to break through to the rest of the populace, and the Left, in control of the media, does everything they can to make the bad things for the GOP blow up and diminish the bad things for the Democrats. That's the narrative, of course.

436 >>I'd rather have McConnel over McCarthy. McConnel believes in something and that something occasionally intersects with what I believe. Not always, but sometimes.

I saw McConnell on with Brett Baier last night. Brett asked him twice if he planned to work with Trump if Trump got back into office and twice McConnell refused to answer the question. McConnell's biggest problem is that he believes he runs Barter Town and Trump should bend to him.

I also think McConnell did a lot to damage Noem. McConnells' handpicked successor is Thune and there was a lot of talk last fall that Thune was going to get primaried. All of a sudden negative press started flooding the zone about Noem just like it did for DeSantis.

McConnell did some good with judges and keeping Garland off the SC but he's not the street fighter I want going forward. He's way too much of a Senate institutionalist but I don't think he's away soon.

440 Judge Ted Poe preceded Crenshaw and was a very good man. I was in his courtroom once when he was pulling traffic court duty for the state troopers. He came in, greeted everyone warmly, and asked for a show of hands of how many of the assembled wanted to take Defensive Driving for dismissal of their traffic ticket. Then directed those to his clerk's window out in the hall. (it was a simpler process back then and no fines). The remaining 10% or so then had their chance to enter a plea.

He cleared an entire courtroom and docket in about 30 minutes. He was keenly aware that these people were his voters. Crenshaw is not 2% of the man Poe was.

This is exactly what I mean when I talk about how streaming customers are "mercenary" and it's a problem for the streaming services. I used to do this before I settled on the two I actually use routinely, but I might see what else is out there in those categories now, too. The market always changes.

But paying for six months or three months in order to get what you want or until you get bored and then canceling and trying another and coming back in a year or so to get the next slice of whatever you want is a brutal customer behavior and I don't think the streaming services are really equipped to deal with it. Especially when the response - like Netflix's just was - is to raise prices and push anyone on the bubble *off* of the service.

but kind of similar to medium. but better.

477 No, for fuck sakes, Omicron CANNOT "sHuTdOwN" the virus. It's a respiratory virus that infects more than just humans and easily mutates. You are not "immune" from catching it even if you've had it before.

Covid is just going to morph into another form of the common cold. It is not ever going away.

People need to stop pretending we can "stop" the virus. We can't. Period. The End. Full Stop.

479 They'll probably try to get Twitter to ban Matt Walsh because just seeing his pictures now causes them trauma, depression and PTSD.

Walsh revealed the secret code to vapor lock trans activists: ask them to define a woman. They can't. It's literal "HARCOURT FENTON MUDD!" with steam coming out of their ears.

480 Youngkin's problem is the Left decided to ignore conservatives who were duly elected. They go insurrectionist in Blue regions, they simply defy the law. The only way to experience Youngkin's governorship fully is to move to a Red area. In VA just throw a dart but aim low and left

Amazing, isn't it?

He also has an excellent response to the oft-sneered "Why do you care so much about this?" question.

I see your point, in regards to governing (where they hope to ignore his policy changes).

But the left learned a big (contrary) lesson with Trump: attack immediately, attack constantly, and attack hard. Propaganda is in full swing against Youngkin, and even Psaki is tweeting against him.

Elected Republicans, even in Red States, should also learn a lesson: go on offense even before you get into office. Identify which Propaganda Media organs are your enemies and undermine them constantly.

He's been great on this issue. His basic point is irrefutable: a person can mutilate their bodies and inject themselves with loads of hormones, but cannot possibly change the hard coded DNA. A man can no more become a woman than a pig become a fish.

To be fair, Trump taught them that it worked. He was ever so worried about the media saying mean things about him, to the point where he'd modify his behavior (policy) based on the fact that people who said mean things about him every day might say even meaner things about him on the 6 o'clock news.

That's really the problem that comes with electing a Populist whose core political values are #winning and "Please like me."

491 With primaries looming in March, the DOJ's Department of Public Integrity office has suddenly announced that Cuellar is being probed for campaign finance violations. Do you believe that? . . .

------------------

I sure don't. I can't imagine standing there while the feds rip my life apart, watching them ruin me financially, attempting to destroy my reputation, and maybe even putting me in hand-cuffs to be hauled away as a political prisoner for an indefinite period of time as a political prisoner subject to God-knows-what abuses.

I won't do it. I'll be resisting. I think it's every free man's duty to his fellow man to ensure there are fewer FBI agents to go around for the next guy. G. Gordon Liddy, who for me is the Grandfather of Conservative Talk Radio used to have a saying, "If the FBI shows up at your home, aim for the head or the groin, the two least-armored parts of the human body."

Liddy died last year in March. I'll miss that guy.

492 Here is an example of "gerrymandering" at its finest. Cuellar's 28th Congressional District has Universal City, TX and Mission, Tx within its boundaries. UC, Tx is 278 miles northeast of Mission, Tx. Elbridge Gerry would be proud of this monstrosity.

and the rape victim wore a short skirt!

Not sure that's a good lead in to your basic point, which (I think) is that Trump wanted the press to like him. I agree that he does and did, and also that it was a little silly of him.

But that is completely a different subject from what I was saying, which was the left learned with Trump that 24/7/365 propaganda is both possible and has a dramatic impact. Republicans are used to attacks in the press, but most probably need to learn before election-time that those attacks are going to a level for which they probably aren't prepared.

498 Democrats never learn. They just keep on inflicting their misery on other people and feel better for it and Republicans allow them to do it. Ut 'via est.
