Winter Lane Cafe

winterpath.jpg

A drive through a winter lane in Greece, of all places. You never think of Greece as snowy.

Dog wants to play ball with a kitten, but the kitten won't play fair

Just a wombat mom and cub.

Doggie roll call with a husky (I think) being dramatically whiny and howly about being called last.

Obstacle course, points awarded for thinking below the box.

Munchin'.

Don't need the X, nope, don't need the G, don't need the H, always thought the E was a nonsense letter...

Slide for treat.

Porch pirate misses her getaway.

Segueway rodeo.

Who was the head of Pfizer's animal division in Europe during this? Albert Bourla, current CEO.

c.) That said, Russia and China don't really want to expose Biden. They really like having a sock-puppet in the White House.

Interesting news - wonder if we'll ever find out what's behind it. Well, we know they're NOT looking for illegal aliens! On the one hand, he's an old time conservative Dem, and the progs hate him for that; maybe they're harassing him. But, on the other hand he's from Laredo, on the border, and I thought it was common knowledge that anyone who holds any position of authority in Laredo is on the payroll of at least one of the cartels, if not several.

btw if I had to pick sides between the Cartels and the Woke - the cartels are bad, but at least they still believe there's only two genders.

114 I read a comment that Jack Reacher, the giant man from the books, probably wouldn't play well on screen because there's no dramatic tension. I

That was in the Quick Hits. Just like Bond, or any other series featuring a hero, you know he's going to win in the end. You just don't kill off the main character. The great fun in the Reacher books is that we all know Reacher is world class but doesn't look like much when people see him so when thugs that are used to dominating their worlds start pushing him you enjoy waiting for him to destroy them at the thought out level he deems appropriate for their actions. Reacher books are kind of like Chandler books or Bond books or even Hemingway books..it's not so much the plot or even the characters it's how they are written in an exact feel. Child's brother is writing them now and from the excerpts I have read, he can't do it. Neither could the other people who wrote Bond. However, oddly enough, the Godfather novels written by other people than Puzo are pretty good.

Much of life looks like it will be largely ruined or at least damaged, for a long time, in most of the world. Not by any virus, but by abandonment of hard-won common sense about such things.

That's because our federal agencies have been co-opted. They're no longer interested in serving the public--they serve their puppet-masters only at this point. They deserve public ridicule.

There was a post here earlier today to the tune of "75% of the democrats surveyed would approve of locking up non-vaxxed citizens". That should be enough to convince even the most ardent sceptics that the left is literally at war with us.

Well that's not true at all.

You've been told to wear a mask, but also don't because they don't work. But wear them if you're around 15 people. Wait, now it's 6. But only if your within 6 feet. But not after midnight. COVID is really crazy after midnight.

Stand six feet away from everyone. Unless your outside then it's 15 feet. And don't go to church. COVID loves churches. But it's okay to riot and go to wine spritzer parties. But do mask if your serving. But not if your attending.

There's more but I forget.

Even your favorite author might spoil a series you like, but you can always just ignore those books and remain enchanted.

There's little to gain by even thinking that a LOTR series could be made now - I dropped out of the Hobbit after one movie myself.

357 That's because our federal agencies have been co-opted.

Motion to reconsider or something like that. To move to reconsider, you've got to be on the prevailing side.

Traditionally, it's the party leader that switches sides whey they lose something.

Its not quite that bad, Boris did at least do that right. The Brits are off on their own, they just need to invoke the final article 50 act and drop the various made up Irish border questions.

Let the EU put up border controls, gives the Irish some traditional smuggling industry to build up.

463 I mean, what is the great cause that is at stake here?

The Treaty of Westphalia. After centuries of nations just attacking, invading, mucking internally, etc in other nations everyone was finally tired of it and agreed that each nation is sovereign and nobody has the right to invade just because they don't like how things are done in an area (such as going to a Protestant church).

Every year that goes by that erodes more and we're seeing people trying to push the idea that there ARE no nations and we can go back to attacking places for disagreeing with us on some issue.

Before Russia, they were part of the Polish/Lithuanian commonwealth. Before that, they were part of the Ottoman empire, or most of it was.

What is at stake here, the cause, is that EU and US politicians want to keep their bribes, and the neocons need some sweet military deals to arm Ukraine to replace Afghanistan's lost income.

470 One of the weirdest things about the vid is that I personally hear about people for who it's a light cold, those who it's a bad cold, those for whom it is the worst flu, and those who die. In personal experience and observation there seems to be no age or serious weight correlation. The only trend I see is that there is a much lower survival rate of those who go to the hospital, but I don't know if they go there because their cases are the worst ones or if the hospital treatments make them worse. I have not personally heard of anyone who died that didn't go to a hospital. It's also odd that virtually none of the generally old and unfit political class have publically at least died from it.
