The Quotes of The Day

Quote I

“Watching Mayor de Blasio do his victory lap dance after four years of the crappiest term as the mayor of New York… the only thing Republicans and Democrats can agree on is what a horrible mayor he has been so… sayonara sucker!” Andy Cohen

Quote II

“These are just really good, hardworking Americans – their job is to protect citizens who don’t listen to their wives, like me, and get stuck on the side of the road. I’m grateful to the Scottsdale PD.” Rob Schneider

Quote III

‘As we enter the third year of the pandemic, I am confident that this will be the year we end it, but only if we do it together.’ WHO Director-general Tedros Ghebreyesus

God can be heard chuckling on that one.

Quote IV

“We did serious harm to our children and young adults who were robbed of their education, jobs and normal existence, as well as suffering damage to their future prospects, while they were left to inherit a record-breaking mountain of public debt,” Professor Mark Woolhouse

Quote V

“I think that the Canadian public will find out about many other such unauthorized surveillance initiatives before the pandemic is over—and afterwards,” David Lyon, author of Pandemic Surveillance and former director of the Surveillance Studies Centre at Queen’s University

7,000 "Yes" vs. 1 "No". Guess who wins? Oh yeah, it's Salem, Oregon.

The Democratic Mayor of Salem, Oregon – Chuck Bennett – has ordered the removal of a private business owner’s mural depicting the iconic, patriotic flag-raising at Iwo Jima during WWII. The mural is painted on the side of Valley Roofing in Salem, Oregon, which is privately owned by local businessman Jon Taylor.

Twitter has banned Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene’s personal account.

Twitter has permanently suspended a current United States representative, which may be the most aggressive decision the company has made in terms of suspensions in its history.

The Internet giant suspended former President Donald Trump from its website after he was no longer president but in this case it did not wait.

It announced the permanent ban of Republican Georgia Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene’s personal account, arguing that it spreading COVID-19 misinformation, Insider reported.

Surprised? I think not.

GM heralded this plant as a model for its electric car future. Then its batteries started exploding.

ORION TOWNSHIP, Mich. - Before General Motors recalled the entire fleet of its most popular electric car because of fire dangers, before her factory was stilled, assembly line worker Carol McConkey stood in the middle of a teeming factory floor and marveled at how seamlessly the Chevrolet Bolt is manufactured.

The nine-year GM employee ducked under a car frame on an orange vehicle carrier, swung a mechanical arm out and drove five bolts into a nearly 1,000-pound battery pack with roughly the footprint of a bathtub.

Granted while I write this, the sun is shining and our temperature is 1. It will also be pitch black in a few hours. THE USELESSNESS OF SOLAR ENERGY

You sometimes see newspaper headlines to the effect that, say, a “50 megawatt solar power plant” is being constructed. But you shouldn’t count on getting anything remotely approaching 50 megawatts of power from such an installation. Energy expert Isaac Orr explains:

Data from the U.S. Energy Information Administration (EIA) show that production from solar panels plummets in the winter. The graph below shows the percentage of electricity generated by solar panels in Minnesota compared to their potential output. This percentage is called a capacity factor in electricity-industry lingo.

You have heard the old saying, "If it's not broke, don't fix it."? Liberals have heard it but still try to fix it. Including the worst mayor of NYC, evah!

He inherited a remarkably safe and thriving city, the culmination of a 20-year-stretch where first Giuliani and then Bloomberg pushed crime to historic lows and ushered in a Golden Age of prosperity.

Instead of following the obvious path forward, de Blasio decided to break what his predecessors had fixed. He leaves a city in such dramatic decline that many people wonder if it can be saved.

The New York Post’s best Bill de Blasio covers from Hizzoner’s tumultuous tenure
De Blasio’s determination to be a wrecking ball was apparent at his inauguration.

The ceremony was laced with insults aimed at the city’s advances and Bloomberg, seated in the front row, was treated like a dog treats a fire hydrant. Harry Belafonte called the city’s justice system “Dickensian” without acknowledging that incarceration rates plummeted by 36% under Bloomberg as crime also plummeted.

Later, Sanitation Department Chaplain Fred Lucas Jr. called the city a “plantation,” an outrageous slur magnified by de Blasio’s comment that he had no problem with the inflammatory remarks.

So when does this pompous ass attempt to gain national office?

DECEMBER 30--In an apparent bid to dodge a criminal court date, a Connecticut man allegedly faked a positive COVID-19 test that was submitted to a judge, according to an arrest affidavit.

Investigators this week charged Junior Jumpp, 31, with a pair of felonies--forgery and tampering with evidence--for his alleged scheme to avoid appearing for a November 30 bond revocation hearing.

Jumpp had been ordered to appear in court for allegedly violating release terms in a pending criminal matter. The Hartford resident, records show, was arrested twice in November while out on bond in the original case.

The November 30 court hearing was scheduled to review Jumpp’s apparent non-compliance with bond terms, and it could have resulted in his immediate detention. Jumpp, a Hartford resident, is facing a variety of criminal raps, including breach of peace, threatening, and interfering with police.

83 From Dr Malone. This is not good news

It's worth noting that the surplus deaths (if they show up among other insurers) may not be all jab related, since that's an all cause number. Suicides due to isolation and general fearmongering could be a factor, as well as missed diagnoses due to people not making regular doctor visits, cancer screenings, or whatnot.

I suspect it's not all driveby shootings in Chicago, though.

102 Found an interesting thing today. I've complained that Google is useless for anything remotely political, but it turns out that Google is increasingly useless for nonpolitical searches as well. The goal of Google's search function is to get you to click on an ad, and ads have gotten increasingly intrusive on Google's search results over the years (Duck Duck Go and Bing have ads as well, but not as intrusive as Google).

So, there is a new search engine called "Neeva", founded six months ago by a couple of ex-Google senior executives, and backed by some big-time Silicon Valley venture capital firms, that promises private, ad-free search. Their business model is to have free basic search, and to charge a subscription fee to get search with more features.

Well, and good - since it's run by Silicon Valley insiders, it may not be any better politically, but may be worth checking out.

So, I was interested in Neeva, so I tried to check its Wikipedia entry. It doesn't have a Wikipedia entry. Did I mention that Google and Wikipedia work together very closely?

A place like this is very particularized. We're all here for many of the same reasons do we all approach the community with the expectation we may get along.

Twitter, for example, is just a giant mass thrown together without rhyme or reason. At this point it's nothing but middle aged losers trying to relive their glory days in high school so everyone just "dunks" on everyone else. Then they pay themselves on the back having accomplished jack shit.

It's worse than that in the winter. The amount of power generated by a solar panel is a function of how high the sun is in the sky. So, not only do you have fewer hours of daylight, but you generate considerably less electricity per hour of daylight in the winter.

146 Solar energy has a use here in AZ. You lease a system big enough to generate an amount close to what you use in a year. In this climate where it is mostly sunny it is predictable. Thing is, your payment each month is the same for the 20 years, so every year when they raise the electric rates, yours stay the same. Effectively you have locked your electric bill for 20 years. Kind of like how your mortgage payment stays the same so eventually your payment is less than current rent rates. Of course, Armageddon and societal collapse might make your mileage vary but so far it works for us.

Prayers to you and your sons as well. Keep your chin up.
It's something I cannot put a finger on. I try like hell to remain positive. Just had a great holiday with both sons and my darling bride and my best good friend. And we had a great snow fall (I love snow). And yet, I sleep restlessly and have unsettling dreams. Still, endeavor to persevere.

158 Solar energy has a use here in AZ.

Given the right climatic conditions, it can be a useful supplement to the electric grid, assuming you have fossil fuel generation to back it up.

Western Oregon/Washington, not so much.

The CEO of that Indiana insurance company says this increase is being seen consistently all across the country.

Note that a 10% increase in death rates in that age group would constitute a 3-sigma, once in 200 years event. A 40%? I have no idea how many sigma that would be, and the time frame to expect one such event to occur.

But this is definitely an *extreme* tail risk event. Life insurance rates are going to have to go up big time.

175 It's worth noting that the surplus deaths (if they show up among other insurers) may not be all jab related, since that's an all cause number. Short of living off the grid in the middle of nowhere and communicating only by talking to someone else, no online communication is safe anymore. People like to claim that all we need to do is get off Twitter or Facebook, yet have no idea that just texting on our phones is tracked. 225 126 Just because it is dark outside for more than half the day in winter is no reason that solar panels should not produce electricity 24/7...

It's worse than that in the winter. The amount of power generated by a solar panel is a function of how high the sun is in the sky. So, not only do you have fewer hours of daylight, but you generate considerably less electricity per hour of daylight in the winter.

Posted by: The ARC of History! at January 02, 2022 10:31 PM (I2/tG)

You gasoline loving cavemen and your ignorance of renewable energy is disgusting. How high the sun is in the sky? What are you dunces talking about? When the sun is up, it's up! When the sun is up, solar cells make electricity! Why can't you dummies understand how simple renewable energy engineering is?

235 What percent of 18-64 year olds dies every year. Has to be pretty small. Lets say it is .1% for the sake of easy math. A 40% increase in that rate would mean .14% died last year. Statistically significant sure, but hardly the population culling the WEF supposedly wants.

I mean it is possible that the covid scam is just about profits for pharma and deaths from the jab are a byproduct rather than the purpose of it. Or there are different factions at work here and their interests (keeping US dependent on Chinese products, removing Trump, letting our enemies in the bureaucracy got their inner tyrant loose, and a trial run on manufactured pandemics) happen to all align over the last two years.

Serious question... where did people hear about actual facts about COVID (i.e. mask efficacy, vaxxine efficacy, success of HCQ, Ivermectin, monoclonal antibodies, dangers of vaxxine, etc)? Where go people get to see videos of other countries protesting vaxxine mandates? I follow a lot of people on Twitter who have been sharing all this information. a few years back Spain, wanting to encourage private solar generation, passed a law mandating that the power utilities buy any excess solar power from any small home generators at a rate much higher than the cost of production. They figured, how much could it cost?

Enterprising Spaniards quickly figured out that it paid very well to set a diesel generator and use it to power a light plant that would shine on the solar panels all night long, resulting in lots of sweet cash. So anyway, that's how to make your solar cells generate electricity 24 hours a day.

Here's a table of death by age brackets from 2018, first one I found:

https://tinyurl.com/mwsw5wav

Note the death rate for 15-24 yr. old males is 100 per 100K, or one per thousand. That increases steadily and breaks to 1119 per 100K in the 55-64 age range.

Note that women are significantly lower, up to 2 -3x lower in the lowest age brackets.

Found LGF and Hot Air back then too (before they went crazy). I think I found AoSHQ through HotAir. I also was turned on to military blogs around 2005 or so. Blackfive.net, Mudville Gazette, OpFor, This Ain't Hell. Then they turned me on to other military blogs. Does anyone with radio or TV influence still do that? Refer people to good conservative blogs?

I've also found a ton of good sites to read through recommendations from posts here and from commenters as well. But I have found a ton on my own through Twitter. That is just such a powerful tool to disseminate information and create lists to follow people's feeds. Instead of having to read 100 different blogs each day (which I could not possibly do).

A bunch of money openly went to hospitals to encourage them to discover covid positive patients and corpses. It wouldn't surprise me if there was a slush fund for health/life insurance in those cases.

Which is another reason to believe that 40% bump being discussed isn't directly from covid or they wouldn't be worried about it.

It is quite a patronizing insult, isn't it? If you take it that way.

On the surface, I see earnest compliance in my managers, and if they see or suspect how stupid and wrong it all is, they are not going to let on -- they'll put on an act, the show must go on.

The bottom line for them is a $14,000 fine per noncompliant employee threatened by OSHA, and ten times that for continued defiance. However awkward, unimpressive, or chicken-like the managers are about this, that's what's really driving this thing. Their plastic phoniness about is just window dressing. They're trapped and powerless about it too.

Avoid irreversible acts.

330 If for some reason you find yourself unable to convince someone that there are lies being told about the vaccine and that we're in trouble refer them to exploring any news from life insurance providers. Particularly those that provide group insurance policies to corporations and businesses and such.

Dr. Malone has also listed this at his substack/web site. An Insurance company in Indianapolis is reporting that deaths are up over all by 40% during the last year. This is 4 times what would show up during some once in 200 year catastrophe. That's how out of the ordinary it is. And it is of the ordinary people. Workers/managers at businesses through out the country. They've also seen an uptick in claims of long term disability. They do not have a large market so they can't say one way or another how much this is out of the ordinary. After reading this I got very cold and feeling very bleak. It's one thing to suppose this is going on and another to be faced with stark reality.

342 I pointed this out over on Instapundit, but this is the year when the general public will finally become aware of the impact of the electric car "revolution" our rulers have planned for us.

Because of all the aggressive mandates at the local, state, national and international level, this is the year all carmakers will have to start ramping up the production of electric cars. Their hands are tied - they have to do it, no matter if the technology is there or not, no matter if consumers want it or not. Up until now the public has been largely unaware of all this, but this is the year it will start becoming impossible to ignore.

The results should be interesting. I am wondering if some of the weirdness in the used and new car markets is being driven by speculators snatching up gas-powered cars and stashing them away to sell once it becomes nearly impossible to buy a new gas vehicle in certain segments.

However, half of my family is Jewish I am appreciative of the Jewishness of Jesus and I took Hebrew in seminary, and I certainly don't want to get into debates with dear Jewish posters on the board. The non religious leftists-or the folks that have God as the state hate both of us and want any sincere Jewish or Christian thought that doesn't belive in the Bibl wiped out.

evasiveboat. H&K are quality stuff. That said, their ergonomics, balance and feel are not optimized for my hand, sense or musculature. But if they fit your hand, are comfortable for you to shoot and you're accurate with it, they're great.

Case in point. I shot a USP in .45 ACP at the TX MoMeet. It was one of the smoothest .45 pistols I've ever fired, and I shot it well. Just not enamored of the balance and other aspects of how it feels in my hand.

Still. Quality stuff.

375 Part II of 369

So I wanted to suggest a resource for you-videos and a book by Rabbi Manis Friedman. (No; He is not a Messianic Jew, and yes, I realize Jews who aren't Messianic regard those Jews as Christians, not Jews) I think he's Orthodox or Hassidic. And any way, I want to get into a debate about this. There can sometimes be too much acrimony on this site. Rabbi Friedman has some videos-I think one is called "how to get close to God". He also has a book, "Creating a Life that matters." Anyway, what I know of him is that he is very sincere in his faith, seems like a good man and has some helpful thoughts.

Maybe some of the other religious Jews on this site has some suggestions for resources about getting closer to God. I do know that the kindly guy from San Francisco-SFGoth is a person of prayer and asks Hashem to heal people.

Best to you, and I continue to pray for your job situation as well as the job situation of all the folks dealing with corona restrictions God loves you. The Hebrew scriptures affirm that.

Buddy fired two shots, and it stovepiped. He cleared it, fired two more, and it stovepiped. He cleared it, handed it to me and said, "you try." 391 Which is why life insurance companies are the ones to watch if the vaxx is causing deaths. These companies would be paying out more than expected monies and at this point don't have the fed lined up to bail them out.

Right, health or life insurance probably has waivers for terrorism / acts of war or such, but death by jab isn't obviously categorized as such, so they're going to be paying. And paying on 40% more of the working age group is a huge number compared to what they expected to pay in a given year - that's why he's talking about a 3 sigma event being dwarfed, he means "it's way the hell more than we had budgeted".

And on top of that, their budgetary plans will have assumed those people would be paying for decades to come, so that's blowed up, too.

It's nothing to worry about.

I realize that January in your neck of the woods is not the best time to go wandering around outdoors, but I have always felt the presence of God more in nature than in any church.

You know, the insurance business is highly regulated at both the state and federal level. And rightly so. If you're going to insure against something, you'd better be able to make good on your promises, and the laws are all about holding them to that.

Insurance is based on risk spreading, and it only works when that risk can be spread adequately and soundly. Say we're going to insure against event X and the probability of that event occurring is some 'p' per year.

If we have N people, then we'll expect on average to have p*N such events. So the premium is roughly p* payout for that event. Note if p is too high, this doesn't work, premiums would be too high.

And note that pN is only the expected value, an average over the law of large numbers. In reality, there's a chance we'll have more than that, or less than that (and that's usually symmetric about the mean).

There lies the details, and the statistical analysis you need to do.

Now, what does that distribution look like. Well, say we're only insuring 1 person. Note there are only 2 possibilities. It either happens, or it doesn't. We either pay out nothing, or pay a full payout. There's p chance we have to pay, and 1 - p we don't pay.

Note that ain't gonna work. We'd have to charge that one guy basically the full payout. Or, if we had enough money, we might gamble. But the law says we better be able to pay, or we go to jail.

Suppose we had two people Now, there's 3 possible outcomes. We pay nothing, we pay one, or we pay two. You can do the math with p.

You'll see that leads to a binomial type probability distribution. As N grows large, our expected pay tightens around the mean, but there is still wiggle close about that mean. The probability of extreme tails gets vanishingly small.

Now, we can do insurance business.

418
Now, note that while the tail event probability gets small, it's still non-zero. It can still happen. The law requires an insurance to be able to handle enough variation on the high side of that mean (and to reinvest, and not blow any variation to the low side).

But, it wouldn't be possible to handle those tail cases, with so low probability.

And basically, there, you have reinsurance, I believe it's called. Each insurance company essentially has to buy tail risk insurance. And they all contribute to this.
If a few companies experience tail risk events, then the collective takes care of it.

Now, what about a tail of a tail? Everybody experiences a tail risk even at once. That's when it goes FUBAR. Uncle Sugar sometimes makes promises, IIRC.

You know, there could be big money to be made, if you could manufacture and sell a "BurnzAll" generator. Meaning a small, say 3.5 kW AC generator powered by a Stirling or condensing Rankine cycle engine, with its heat source being a firebox that could burn natural gas, propane, liquid, or solid fuels, as dictated by supply.

Posted by: Alberta Oil Peon at January 03, 2022 01:43 AM (P3gRi)

431
Now, note we made one little assumption there about that distribution: that the individual risk was independent.

Some things don't work that way, flood insurance being the classic example. If one guy has a flood, then everybody around him is going have a flood claim. Rather than the nice binomial distribution, we're back to pay nothing, or pay everybody at once.

That's why flood insurance (and other similar risk profile) is problematic, and Uncle Sugar basically has to subsidize it.

436 The thing is to achieve better, some is better than none, besides, these are for use if the generator is not there.

You know, there could be big money to be made, if you could manufacture and sell a "BurnzAll" generator. Meaning a small, say 3.5 kW AC generator powered by a Stirling or condensing Rankine cycle engine, with its heat source being a firebox that could burn natural gas, propane, liquid, or solid fuels, as dictated by supply.

this is more of a "we" thing, I arrange the financing, you arrange the building and a privae euqity group buys it off us.

Heh. Well, for us, it would be inefficient of fuel, but if we had a good supply of firewood, we could have electricity for months.

You could cogenerate, too. Any combustion engine rejects a great deal of heat, and if you have buildings to heat, that heat could be put to use.

473 Some thoughts:

Here's how we have to think of the tragedy unfolding before us; it's like a TsuNami more than say a railroad train or truck coming down the road.

We can see it in the distance and see the damage but it hasn't reached us here yet. Not fully. Within some period of time the increase of death and injury by the vaccine will begin to penetrate even the barriers put up by the World Govs and their media to the point where people become alarmed and start demanding answers.
This is when the TsuNami will start to break upon us. That is when the Govs will decide whether to try and stall a bit and lie and hide what's happening or go on the offensive immediately. It may not be a coordinated response. So some may attack and others may lie while they prepare to attack.
Use whatever time you are allowed to either hide or strengthen you own personal situation and then be prepared to either flee or try and pretend to be innocent dumb civilians and temporarily go along with whatever is mandated.

Whatever you all do, unless you have overwhelming firepower and defenses, do not make of yourselves targets for immediate attack. God bless you all. (think I'm being over dramatic?)

474 It's being reported by American Insurance companies that the number of deaths it up over normal by about 40%.

This is being reported by a group insurance company who sees insurance claims by workers and managers of companies and businesses throughout the Midwest. Apparently they are either naive or are making the attempt to alert people without becoming the story in the major news media. I can't believe other insurance companies already don't know this too and have not reported it as they have gov connections who have warned them not to do so.

This will soon start reaching people online and in local news and people will be asking questions of the Gov.

477 The only way the IRS can go after you for not filing your income taxes fully and correctly is because they are already monitoring your income and outlay thru your bank, credit cards and other places that report their sales direct to the IRS.

That's how they did it in the past with Capone. That's what he went to prison for and not his criminal organizing. And the way they did that was document his lifestyle for comparison with his claims of income. More outlay than income means a disparity that they could then investigate, document and take to court.
These days they can do that for almost anyone because of our digital record keeping and computers to store them and because of reporting requirements that they've snuck in over the years that people didn't think were any big deal.

Posted by: jakee308 at January 03, 2022 04:10 AM (/gMS/)

478 And the thing that's not being spoke of too much in the fake news media is the real reason for the push for electric cars:

The gov wants to limit a citizens ability to travel anonymously. They've limited all other means of travel so that they can id everyone who is traveling and where they are going and coming from. Good things to know if they want to track anyone they have suspicions about.
But gas/diesel powered vehicles have been a loop hole. Now with only electric cars on the road and stopping at distinct distances and only at certain places will allow them to track any travel. Coincidentally the electric cars will be all digital and thus able to be disabled by radio by any authority wanting to stop a fleeing car. This is all planned out and taken into account for our controlled future.

Posted by: jakee308 at January 03, 2022 04:15 AM (/gMS/)

479 So our final deadline for stopping the take over of the world and creating a world government is less than 10 years. Perhaps even 5.

If by that time things are not changed somehow and their plans in ruins they will take over all peoples lives (those still living). Their employment, their education, their marriage, their children, and their lives until the Gov decides they need to die.

That's what's coming and we may get put on lockdown sooner than that. All this lately has been a test and a preliminary attack.
