The Morning Report - 12/31/21

22to21holdbeer.jpg

Good morning, kids. Friday and New Year's Eve is here. It's hard to know where to begin, especially on a day like today where it's customary to look back on a year to try and summarize, encapsulate or otherwise make sense of the events that shaped it and then put it on a shelf and forget it as the cosmic odometer rolls over yet again. But life and history don't work that way; it's a continuum. We think otherwise because until recently, things generally followed a familiar, expected pattern, and we were more or less living lives of relative comfort, stability and above all else predictability. Yes, the vicissitudes of our own unique life circumstances with unforeseen tragedies or hardships hit us individually, but as a nation and society, we lived secure in the knowledge that despite everything, the pax Americana, as it were, since the end of the Second World War would be the way of the world forever. How colossally blind and foolish it was to believe that.

The hard truth is that all great civilizations fall. They do so mostly because over time they tend to destroy themselves from within. That said, I do believe that the course and/or arc if you will of human history has generally been towards the betterment and improvement of mankind. Despite 6,000 or more years of tyranny, enslavement, war and genocide that would belie that rather Pollyanna-ish declaration, I do stand by it. I do still believe that the American Revolution and the Constitution and form of government that the Founders and Framers laid out in 1789 was, and more importantly IS Divinely inspired. That human nature and the will to power of evil people who, whether we like it or not, are our fellow citizens subsumed that was perhaps inevitable. Ben Franklin along with John Adams, Thomas Jefferson and many others saw it despite doing what they could to try and prevent it. A fool's errand, perhaps. And yet what this nation and society achieved in the space of barely 232 years, despite the frailties, foibles and failings of humanity in all of recorded history before that, has never been and maybe will never be repeated.

It's a double-edged sword to come to these realizations, but in the end, it's better to accept reality than to just ignore the truth that hits you in the face harder than a 32-ounce Quickcrete hate shake. We are at an inflection point in history. There can be no denying it. For sure, America and much of the world as it was or at least as we had expected it to operate is gone. When you look around at what those in power are doing to us and worse have planned for us going forward, it's not a pretty sight. But that said, the enemy are not infallible. Just as what we thought was the permanence of our former way of life inevitable, neither is our destruction at the hands of the globalist left. Some event or series of events might lead to their eventual defeat and, please God, a rebirth of a new American republic and society. Wishing for it won't make it so; it's going to be a struggle. The nature of that struggle is yet to be determined.

Nothing better than a quote attributed to Winston Churchill to cap off Year Zero Plus 1:

"If you're going through hell, keep going."

Lastly, a big thank you to everyone out there who has hit our tip jars. It helps keep the lights on and is truly appreciated beyond words. Here's hoping for a blessed new year and better days ahead for all of you.

22 tidbit I just posted on the end of the tech thread:

downloaded a graphic that Gov. Abbott posted yesterday on population shifts - in 2021, Texas was + 310,288 people. New York was -319,020. Keep it up, Hochul and Adams! Drive everyone out!

Visualize a city near you which has a population of about 300,000 people. Texas is having to build the equivalent *from scratch* each year, just to accommodate the new people moving in.

top 5 gainers were 1) Texas, 2) Florida, 3) Arizona, 4) N. Carolina, 5) Georgia

top 5 losers were 1) New York, 2) California, 3) Illinois, 4) Massachusetts, 5) Louisiana

Baby powder helps with the mats?! My Goldens get them in their "armpits" and at the base of their ears all the time. Can't wait to try this. Is there any special method?

Another great use for baby powder that some might not know is to remove sand from your feet after a day at the beach. Sprinkle it on and just brush the sand away. Especially great for babies and kids.
Posted by: IrishEi at December 31, 2021 07:49 AM (0TVNF)

Baby powder is a dry lubricant that reduces the effort it takes to untangle mats in a dog's coat. Sprinkle it on the mat and knead it in. But it still takes a great deal of work with a slicker brush to work them out. Hold the mat at the base so you're not pulling on his skin and work from the outside in.

Of course, you could just cut them out; in fact we'll do that with the ones behind the ears if they're small. But the Good Lord gave your dog a coat for a reason and keeping it just seems the right thing to do.

I do think '22 will either fully solidify their grip, and thus the destruction of America, or they're going to flail themselves into the dustbin. What concerns me most is fraud. All of this hinges on fair elections. On free elections. On elections that don't have 100s of 1000s of ballots harvested and stuffed. That's what worries me most. In all honesty, if "The People" really got to choose their destiny, the democrats would be wiped out for the most part. But if they're not, by hook or by crook (mostly crook), they will enshrine vote fraud into federal law at some point in the remainder of this illegitimate potato's illegitimate presidency.

Have no idea about her vaccine status, but it's unusual for healthy women in their 40's to suddenly keel over from heart attacks.

Or maybe not so unusual . . . . lately.

66 The war is out in the open. The good news is that more and more liberals are realizing they have been betrayed. The trans movement makes a farce out of equal rights for women. The advocacy for racism against whites is particularly galling for a movement that worked for a colorblind world. The homeless despoiling iconic locations in LA, SF, Portland, and Seattle make the citizens realize they have no rights. Blacks are waking up to their betrayal by a party that ushers is millions of illegals to take their jobs and lower their pay. We just need to go out and recruit these people with the visions of liberalism from 60 years ago--equal rights for all and equality under the law.

JK Rowling caved at just the wrong moment. People are starting to get pissed (normal people, that is) at the idiocy that is the "trans" nonsense. The hulking man-pretending-to-be-a-woman swimmer in Pennsylvania, blowing past actual women swimmers who've spent their lives training for competitions, has opened some eyes. Rowling should have stood firm and pointed to this example as proof of what she's been saying.

96 JK Rowling caved at just the wrong moment.

103 I do think '22 will either fully solidify their grip, and thus the destruction of America, or they're going to flail themselves into the dustbin.

104 Funny, this is not how everyone on the planet understood how vaccines worked prior to COVID. And funny how they are redefining the relevance of case counts now.

NBC News: Omicron shows the Covid vaccines work. 'Breakthrough case' is a misunderstood term.

Breakthrough infections are part and parcel of immunization as long as a disease is circulating. If the vaccines are saving lives, they're doing their job.

By Dr. Jacob M. Lurie, resident physician, and Dr. Gunisha Kaur, physician and human rights researcher

Focusing on case numbers - especially as the illness moves toward becoming endemic, or regularly found within a population like the common cold and the flu are - is misplaced because it focuses on the wrong number, which seems larger and scarier than the actual threat the virus represents. It doesn't screen out for the details that matter: whether cases are asymptomatic; whether they result in hospitalizations and deaths; whether they are occurring among fully vaccinated people. Without this further context, it's impossible to measure the impact of these breakthrough cases.

Well, both can be true...gas (almost) always decreases from summer to fall as the blends switch and the driving lessens...so it could be $3.99 then, which would be cheaper than his suggested summer price.

As for my prediction, I predict the Dow/Nasdaq/S&P crash (30% or more reduction) within 60 days of the Fed withdrawing its direct and indirect support. Now, I don't know when the Fed will stop holding them up, so this prediction is on the table until that happens...I think that's 2022, but it could just as easily be 2025 if they want to blame the next party...

It's easy to read the tea leaves on that. If you were an evil dictator on the world stage, would now be the time to act?
Posted by: Lady in Black at December 31, 2021 08:19 AM (sVtYq)

looking at those two situations - Taiwan is independently stronger than we tend to realize, and mainland China has more internal problems than we realize. Contrary to what we imagine, the Chinese leadership has generally tended to be extremely conservative when it comes to risk taking, and they are unlikely to take the risk on this one. Remember. they only took Hong Kong after the British folded and walked away without firing a shot.

Ukraine - everyone in that part of the world is fighting the last war, or maybe two wars ago. Ukraine is impoverished and decrepit. Russia is impoverished and decrepit. It doesn't matter any more who runs any of that, all of it is worthless to hold from any global perspective. So whatever happens there; who cares?

123 Read the Rowling article @- sounds like she's trying to thread the needle between sex and gender. But still says trannies should stay out of women's only spheres.

"Small but important point: I've never said there are only two genders. There are innumerable gender identities.

The question at the heart of this debate is whether sex or gender identity should form the basis of decisions on safeguarding, provision of services, sporting categories and other areas where women and girls currently have legal rights and protections.
Using the words 'sex' and 'gender' interchangeably obscures the central issue of this debate.

If you're interested in what I actually said, see https://bit.ly/347qA56 (in which I literally say 'trans lives matter' and 'trans rights are human rights.')"

136 From last year's 12/31/20 Morning Report. Spot-on saying that we had not seen anything yet. Jan6, Afghanistan withdrawal failure, forced vaccinations under threat of loss of employment, redefinition of vaccine and vaccination, termination of the unvaxxinated from all areas of industry and government institutions, etc.

If you thought 2020 was bad, you ain't seen nothing yet. Things are going to get a lot worse, and it's going to get personal. But where there is life, there is hope. Don't vest all your trust in one man, be it Trump, Rush or whoever. First and foremost, you have to put your trust in yourself. Man up, woman up. We all have responsibilities that keep us occupied with putting food on the table and a roof over the heads of our loved ones. But what is all of that worth if the freedom to live your life as you see fit, or to try to make it better for your progeny, is denied you? A moment of truth is fast approaching. I can't tell you what to do because I myself don't know what to do. That's what's so frustrating and depressing.

Remember that the Dem's evil genius trick in 2020 was to figure out that they could win a national election by controlling the vote in only 6 large, democrat run cities. (you know which ones) Next November, there are 435 separate House elections, plus 33 Senate races. They can't be controlled by controlling just 6 cities, that's the great weakness of their scheme.

btw, I take it for granted that every race in California is fixed. If it was up to me, I would refuse to seat any California reps in Congress and install a military reconstruction government there. If it was up to me.

161 I think I see the conflict in positions.

1. In New England, people who have a positive quick test, yet feel perfectly fine, and symptom free are rushing to, and clogging hospital ER's.

2. CBD who sounds to have felt like shit and feeling worser all the time, with many symptoms of Covid, went to the ER.

Two different sets of circumstances.

Of course, a large black cat on a villain's lap would be a cliche.

I have no big ideas of the Repubs doing anything that will help the situation; all I want out of them is that they make sure nothing happens at all, and the Fed level dissolves into total gridlock. (and I think Mitch is just the man we need to make that happen)

But 2024 isn't going to be about politics, it will be about Events. A whole flock of Black Swans are going to fly between now and then, to the extent that there will be no "politics as usual" possible for anyone.

Think it's more complicated than that -- Obamacare has destroyed medicine. I have no doubt there are greedy, careless hospitals, doctors and nurses. However, Obamacare created financial incentives/punishments to ensure that doctors spend a minimal amount of time with patients and an inordinate time on paperwork. They also want to limit care to certain demographics (e.g. seniors). I have family who left medicine because of this.

Every few decades the Germans, usually a level headed and serious people, decide to follow a course of action guaranteeing their self destruction. At least this time they've chosen to go straight to the suicide part without directly trying to kill all of their neighbors first. (although they did their best to talk everyone they knew into committing suicide with them)

Once the wave of self destruction is over, they can go back to being good little worker bees and rebuild their society, which apparently is what they really like to do.

Then went to a new GP the other day and the same deal. They asked if I was vaccinated but the doctor never said a word about it.

I'm wondering if they're worried that, unlike the drug companies, they may be liable for encouraging patients to get the shot who later have adverse reactions.

The interesting thing is that whoever it may be, he can't arise through the Democrat party. There are too many powerbrokers and gatekeepers with position to allow anyone new to rise up from beneath them. Any real leader will upset their grifting game, and they would never allow that. Posted by: redridinghood at December 31, 2021 09:24 AM

It may be similar to something I felt this past summer when I was mentoring our engineering intern. I think I have a lot of good ideas for making our department much more efficient and ideas that I have tried to pass along to people in my immediate group. But a lot of these things require taking the initiative to spend more time than the minimum to complete (i.e. documentation, detailed meeting notes, organizing one's database so as to easily find documents later, setting up daily checklists to track tasks to complete, etc.). And unfortunately, when you've been in your career for a long time and have a way of doing things, you're not as open to changing.

But this intern was eager to learn and open to hearing what I had to suggest for ways to do things efficiently. That came as a good surprise and inspired me to want to share more of my ideas with her. So this may be how teachers today are using/abusing their positions, to get acceptance of their ideology from the students.

Government schools are such a lost cause because those currently in and who are entering into the "profession" are psychotic, below average intellect perverts and communists that they are fully incapable of actual teaching and educating in any traditional form. Mere exposure to these malignant misfits dooms your offspring.

It will absolutely require a different model, starting with home-schooling, maybe trusted neighborhood schooling where parents pool their talents. I can see One Day Academy where specialized training can be brough in through the internet, one room school-houses that are like daytime dojos. Itinerate teachers who can move about a district for a week or two.

Anything but the current situation.

When I was in ER for Covid because of low O2 two months ago, I was told my only choice was O2, remdesivir, ventilator and dexamethisone.

I had been on the full flccc protocol, but deteriorated nonetheless.

I declined remdesivir and ventilation, the ER doc screamed at me for pointing out the death statistics associated with that protocol.

What transpired after that can only be explained as demonic.

Wow. Glad you're still here to tell the tale. Horrifying things going on in "healthcare."

Let's just say I am lucky they did not kill me though they actively tried.

I will never step foot in a hospital again. I'd rather die at home or on the street in a pool of my own blood before I ever consent to go to a hospital ever again.

They want you dead. If you get Covid, watch your O2 sats like a hawk. Go buy an oxygen concentrator if they start to deteriorate. Do the flccc protocol too.
Skip the death gulag.

308 Although covid testing in NYC show very high rates of covid infection the number dying has remained only 1% of the 3000+ daily deaths of the past

Considering how safe Florida is despite the low vax rate, I can't help but wonder if these putative vaccinations are causing infection.

Change my mind, bright boy.
