The wife of a surgeon told me that her husband hated operating on obese people because they are more likely to die on the operating table and when they survive the operation their recuperation doesn't go as well. Also, I have two overweight relatives who have adult onset diabetes, one had his foot amputated. I'm twenty pounds overweight myself, and I love eating. I got pulled over on my way home from church today for not having a seatbelt on. Daughter is riding in the car with me. Cop says "Is that your daughter?", "Yes, we're on our way home from church."
Five minutes later he walks up to her window, asks her if she knows my date of birth and if she wants to be riding in my car with me, does she feel safe to leave if she wants. She's confused, answers his questions.
Then he hands me my ticket and says "Do you know why I had to ask her those questions?" I said "No." He says "I'm doing my job."
I think I'm gonna go talk to the police chief next week. That f*cking pig was basically saying he was checking to see if I was some kind of pervert or kidnapper. Tired of these f*ckers. I think I may accuse ask the chief if this young pig was hitting on my daughter. Maybe then he'll understand what it's like to be accused of being a pervert. F*cking pig.

I saw a great example of Covid fear porn today, from a New York TV station:
NEW YORK - The spiraling COVID-19 case numbers in New York are coming with a new warning of a disturbing rise in pediatric hospitalizations.
The New York State Department of Health on Friday warned of a "striking increase" in new hospital admissions for children.
The recent fourfold increase in admissions of children ages 18 and younger that began the week of Dec. 5 is concentrated in New York City and the surrounding metropolitan area, where the highly contagious omicron variant has taken a startling hold.
Of course, they don't tell you what the number of pediatric cases were before the "fourfold increase".
As of three days ago, five people under 18 were hospitalized with Covid in Oregon. If that number goes to twenty, that would be worth watching, but that still doesn't mean that kids are at any serious risk of getting ill.

LOL, built one with the Kids back in the backyard in Colorado... fine light snow had fallen, but... built the first part of the walls on day 1, then, ran a hose from inside the house and lightly sprayed the outside...
Then finished the next day, after the walls had frozen overnight... then sprayed the rest.
Thing lasted for weeks.

You need post-exposure processing, such as Photoshop or Darkroom. Those have the tools to re-do a white-balance of the image at the click of a mouse.
Conversely, doing it the way we did it in Film Times, you can choose a warmer lighting source (add a 3200 Kelvin bulb to the mix, which is the warm yellow candle light tint of days gone by), or a No.1 or No.2 Yellow filter, and this may introduce you to the aged but still effective Cokin System.
Try some alternatives before you invest in Capital Hardware, and you'll likely come out $ hundreds ahead.

In Colorado you get a range of snowfall, depending on whether the storm is coming from the West, or the North.
Sometimes really wet heavy concrete, sometimes light fine powder. Real Powder days are GOLD for us snow skiiers... only time I would knuckle under and ski Vail so I could do the back bowls.

I have skied it and it's great. Usually though if you take a fall it's gonna leave a mark. I've dome mostly cross country skiing so it's rare for me to get too much speed but it has happened.

I was driving at 1 pm in my church clothes with my daughter in her church clothes and stated we were on our way home from church polities and cooperated with all of his requests with a "Yes sir."
If I was a woman, my daughter would not have been questioned. I want to know why my daughter was questioned without an explanation, without my consent.

Yeah, I skied the East Coast in the early 80's, when I was stationed out there. Even skied at the Lake Geneva Playboy Club when it was still open. Really short crappy hill, but we had a ball... people were actually buying us drinks when we came down as it was unusual to have anyone on that little hill who could actually ski. But this was back when Hot Dogging was just getting started, and anyone who could do a helicopter was God Like... LOL.

Jewells. Good cameras die when their guts die, and not before. I'm shooting a 2013 Nikon Df, and it's a derivative of a 1980s Nikon FM film camera with the sensor and brains of the (then) top of the line Nikon D4. Wouldn't trade it for nuthin'. Point being, your "blue tint" isn't so much a camera problem, as a light-spectrum problem. There are adjustable LED systems, that will let you manipulate a slide or knob, to adjust the "color temperature" of the output, and those would let you get the EXACT right color of white in your pics.
Write to me, and I'll research and reply at more length. Though the modern digital world left me behind vs. film, it hasn't negated what I learned in there years of Occupational Photography in school. We can fix this without you buying a new camera, count on it!

Had a great powder day skiing at Mammoth Mt in Calif... run called Dragons Back... Huge REALLY steep cliff... only people skiing it were me and a friend that day. It's steep enough that its Jump turns all the way down. No WAY I could do it now, not strong enough, but that was back in my mid 20's.

I know there's ways to do it and then there's other ways to do it.
I got stopped once with a very young looking girl late at night. He didn't ask the questions until he saw my age. (I looked younger than my age back then) I knew what he was doing and I didn't mind because I did.
That happens every day. Every damn day more than one girl gets into someone's car and doesn't get out on their own power. Thousands thru the year. They do not die well. We can only imagine the terror of their last few minutes of life. Could you face yourself in the morning if you didn't ask those questions just in case? It has to be done with diplomacy but a lot of people can't do that and maintain their demeanor otherwise so they tend to be snide, snarky or just plain rude. And that actually may be on purpose also.

I have to do all that with aching joints due to my incurable arthritis. And the pain medications do not work all that well. Too much and I could lose my balance, fall and break something. Too little and I can't sleep.
The getting up in the night can usually be resolved. Some Saw Palmetto? Or a surgical session of a micro roto rooter and bore things out. I've had that done. No fun but better than catheterizing every time. There's also some red pills that will lessen the pain or urgency for a while but you have to be careful and make sure the Dr. says ok.
Yep. Growing old ain't for sissies.

When I was about 35.... I was up skiing at a local place in central Calif by myself. Saw this guy coming down the hill, wearing a Fur Hat... and FLAWLESS form... pristine... gracefull.... sat in awe. Turned out he had worked with my Father, and was his best friend prior to Marriage... and he was 68 at the time.
My Father quit skiing when us kids were born, because one of his friends got hurt and could not ski (Yeah, I'm sure MOM had something to do with that choice)...
But I decided right then, then when I grew up (Yeah, I was 35) I wanted to be my Dad's friend, Mr. Roberts...

It's now getting bad. There is a treatment they make for hard water for humidifiers. Drop a tablet into the reservoir with each change.
The new well for the new house is much deeper, and the water, while hard, is not as bad. The deposits it makes are softer and clean out much easier.

One does have take the test, which is nothing.

Re false positives. This is one of the reasons you don't normally test asymptomatic people for much of anything. Only if you have reason to believe someone may have something, do you test for it. Otherwise, depending on various factors, the false positives will blow away true positives.
It's known as the base rate fallacy, and you can look that up for details. A common example. Take a breathalyzer. Say it has a false positive rate of 5%. Many people who don't know any better assume that means there's a 95% chance that someone who tests positive is actually drunk.
If the cops were to start randomly testing people, the vast majority of the positives would be false positives. It depends on the "base rate" of the conditions, how many people are likely drunk in the population.
So, you need other information before you do a test. Something that greatly raises the base rate of the sample you're testing. Like drivers who are weaving all over the road, or patients actually displaying symptoms of a given disease.

If you want to take (audit) the one single best course on clear and effective writing, then do sit in on your local Law Enforcement Academy (muni or community college) segment on Police Report Writing.
It'll strip the writer of all but the objective facts and accurately descriptive narrative of said facts, in the sequence in which they occurred. Me, I can wax eloquent, even florid on occasion. But I earned my chops by getting right to the point, even if brutally so.

They used to make magnesium in Texas. All you need is seawater and electricity. And some outfit, using government money, built a beautiful brick magnesium smelter near High River, Alberta, back in the 1980's I don't know if it ever poured a single ingot. Building still stands; I have no idea if it has been repurposed, or still has all the pots in it. Now might be the time to unmothball it, if that can be done.

Covid porn has had its effect. Things would have been very different if the government and the media had pointed out that your chances of getting really sick from Covid are tiny unless you are:
1) Elderly
2) Morbidly obese
3) or have some other major, major medical problem
Omicron is even less dangerous.
Instead we had the media hunting down stories of healthy 55-year-olds dying of Covid to stir up panic, even if the number of those sorts of cases was infinitesimal.
