The Morning Rant

talking ape.jpg

MERRY CHRISTMAS

Sorry, but this is going to have to be an abbreviated rant. Mrs. Muse has been feeling poorly the last couple of days and getting worse, so today (Thursday), she did one of those home Covid-19 tests, which came out positive. And we confirmed it with a second test. She was feeling pretty lousy this morning, started out with a cough, then aches, chills, tiredness, and headache. So it's basically a moderate flu. We have friends who have muled some ivermectin across the southern border, and they have graciously made it available to us, but we're not sure Mrs. Muse will actually need it.

[Update, Friday morning: Mrs. Muse's symptoms are pretty much gone. We understand that sometimes Covid looks like it's going away and then suddenly rushes back in, but her symptoms were tapering off all day yesterday, so we think this is an actual recovery. By the way, despite not making any effort at distancing or isolation at all, and sleeping in the same bed, etc., I am showing no symptoms whatsoever. It's as if my immune system kicked Covid-19 in the nuts]

So I've spent much of the day dealing with various things relating to adjusting our Christmas plans, so I didn't have time to select a 'who dis' pair. And for the rant itself, all I have is a few brief comments about the gaslighting regarding what vaccines are and what they do.

It used to be that when you got vaccinated against a disease (polio, tetanus, smallpox), that meant you didn't get the disase. But now, we're being told that what vaccines do is to mitigate the effects of the disease if you get it and reduce your chances of being hospitalized. And when you say, no, that's not the way it was understood previously, they insist yes, it was, and I hate this gaslighting! Why can't they just say, well yes, that may have been true, but this is the best we can do under the circumstances.

In other words, we used to have 'strong' vaccines, now we have 'weak' vaccines. And, for that matter, why call them 'vaccines' at all? I think it would be more honest if you called them 'theraputic drugs'. Perhaps 'drugs' isn't the medically correct term, but there doesn't seem to be a lot of difference between the mNRA vaccines and, say, remdesivir. Or, for that matter, ivermectrin.

So let's do something scientific:

Take one population and get them all vaccinated with the currently available mRNA vaccines, and then boosted however many times you like, and then, for a second population, do not use vaccines. Instead, The focus should be on early-treatment, using one of the early-treatment protocols that other doctors have developed that make us of ivermectin, hydroxychloroquine, and other drugs, and then see which group is better off in a year.

I think this would be a good test. And then, if they both come out the same, or nearly the same, we should be allowed to select which protocol we think would work better for us, based on our own individual needs and considerations rather than the dictates of Dr. Fauci, the CDC, the pharmaceutical companies, and the medical-industrial complex.

Nah, that's just crazy talk.

In the meantime, do not be afraid.

36 I believe that because the vaxx uses a part of the entire virus to trigger the immune system and it drives it into overdrive that you're body manages to make a few complete virii and they in turn infect you back or infect someone else.

Thus no only are the vaxxed passing on the virus they're also building complete virii along with some that have been changed for a nice surprise.

Or the vaxx somehow makes them transmit the virus better or faster. Like say the latest mutation the omicron

They dispose of masks regularly and aren't using masks of the same quality. In theory if you got everyone to act at all times by similar standards to an operating room (which is not a realistic goal, surgeons get sick too) that'd have some impact. Without that it's playacting. A hazmat suit is just playacting if you're not adhering to all the other procedures.

48 This sounds a lot like what my wife and I had the past five days. The insta-test was positive and well as her PCR. Compared to the non-CCP Kung Flu I had last February, this is mild. The only thing odd is a deep bone & muscle ache.

We took 1.25mL IVM 1% PO daily, along with NAC (600mg), Vit D + zinc. My wife needed guaifenesin as any of her illnesses turn into bronchitis. We kept the HCQ in reserve, but here on day five, we are up and about, albeit slowly.

We are both #purebloods. She because she's survived lymphoma twice and her oncologist strongly advised against effing up her genome with mRNA. Me because I've been a pharm tech for a dozen years and know most pharmacists and nearly all docs are idiots just there for a paycheck.

Merry Christmas, everyone!

87 Umm, surgical masks as used in surgical settings also do not reduce transmission of disease - sorry. This has been the finding of research to date.

Like all real science, it's not settled, but not aware that any research to date has shown much benefit.

There are very weak claims that surgical masks properly fitted/worn, in a clinical setting, reduce virus transmission. Nothing indicates real-world use of any kind of mask has any overall impact on transmission. I think there was even a study in Germany using N95s in a public setting - no benefit.

89 I had covid in September. It wasn't fun but it wasn't the worst medical issue I ever had. The worst part of covid is the fact that even when I didn't have it people give me dirty looks because of the constant allergies. Always with the runny nose, itchy watery eyes and little tickley cough. I'm not sick! I have Indiana sinuses and allergies! But NO OOO..... I must be spreading contagion everywhere! Hey. I'm just brainstorming here.

And btw who's to say it's not somewhat like that?

I said back a while ago that the vaxx could change your DNA. Boy I got shit for that. Turns out there's Drs. that believe that's possible too.

And let's remember; all we know about the vaxx is what they've told us. Unless you've done or had done a complete chemical analysis, you don't really know for sure what's in there and what it does or could do. We know it doesn't do as well as they'd like and that it doesn't do what they say it does so who's to say it doesn't do shit they never thought of? there's an answer somewhere yet they haven't found it yet. maybe they're looking in the wrong place or the wrong way.

91 The original vaccine was getting infected with cowpox, a mild relative of smallpox because someone observed that milkmaids never got smallpox. It worked, people who had recovered from cowpox were immune to smallpox. Vaccine is from the French word for cow, I think, or maybe Latin.

94 Sigh. More vaccine discussions?

OK. It's been two (2) years, but one (1) more time. I'm not an epidemiologist, but then hardly anybody else browbeating everyone is either, so what the hell.

Viruses or diseases like Polio don't (or haven't) mutate. There are no animal host reservoirs like geese, cattle, or hogs, etc. Immunization confers long and effective protection.

Now you can get "natural immunity" by contracting Polio - but you don't want to get it.

The goal of vaccination is not vaccination. The goal is herd immunity. Except as previously noted, with cold and flu viruses, they so readily mutate a vaccine to prevent the "common cold" is not possible or practical.

It makes sense to try and protect the elderly (assuming people care about such things, which is an open question apparently) and otherwise vulnerable people.

But there is no way to stop a corona virus, the type we're dealing with here. This whole thing is being used as an operation. Gleischaultung or coordination for "other purposes".

Individualist or Collectivist. You can believe that we are free people with inalienable rights inherent to our nature or gifted by nature's God, and that human flourishing follows wherever freedom leads...

...or you believe against all the evidence of history that a small group of credentialed experts, given absolute power, will deliver a more perfect society.

The latter belief is not new, despite what proponents claim. It is the default of the human condition, it has been tried continuously, in endless permutations, throughout humanity's journey from the swamp to the stars. It has been measured against our alternative, and found wanting.

143 It's all out there for everyone to explore if they choose, I've only dipped part of my pinkie finger in, but the research on efficacy of masks in surgical settings so far does not validate what could fairly be termed a common sense observation/rationale that they prevent spread of disease (to either doctors or patients). But as often in real life, lots of complications, such as many different kinds of procedures, etc.

It's not that benefit is ruled out - it's that it's also not confirmed, contrary to what most just (reasonably) assume.

Meanwhile reducing virus transmission, in a real world setting (the relevant one), is also not confirmed, but it's been looked at for nearly 70 years, so the evidence is pretty compelling. And then there's the one recent "study" based on a Bangladesh experiment, which has been described as not even a good high school science project, it is so flawed (but cultists celebrate it as "gold standard", reminding one what we're up against).

It will always be thus. Their philosophies are fatally flawed at the most fundamental level. In order to achieve the material equality / fairness / equity they so claim to crave, someone has to be given redistributive authority. That invariably means you have a small group that controls all of the wealth in the nation. The previous sentence is an effective definition of the word aristocracy.

Once the aristocracy is created, it no longer matters why - it will behave as any other, feathering its own nest, entrenching itself in power, and punishing detractors. As Chesterton said, there has never been an aristocracy that didn't behave exactly like a small gang.

Marxism is broken as designed.

Classical Israel was really the first alternative. Even in antiquity, we had the chief and his cronies or a council of elders.

In Israel, power came not from a King, but by Judges whose power came not from themselves, but from the law. The idea that a leader was beholden to something higher was alien to the larger world.

Naturally, the Israelites wanted to be like everyone else, and clamored for a king. God warned them, then gave it to them good and hard. There was a short golden age under David and Solomon, then centuries of consequences.

Every time you get away from the idea that there is something higher than mere government, trouble follows.

Posted by: dr kill at December 24, 2021 12:39 PM (am2jy)

250 I have Covid. I am on Day 9. Day 4 with ivermectrin. I wanted to get monoclonal antibodies, but in Nevada they are rationed. No surprise a Democratic run state would ration health care.

It's like a bad flu. I think by tomorrow I will be over it. It's not a picnic. But, it is not worth worldwide panic.

263 #258 by Ciampino wins the thread.

I was working in Vietnam when the Flu Manchu hit the area and no one knew what it was. For a few days I had some sniffles, a slightly sore throat, and an occasional sneeze. I was over it in less than a week. That was December 2019.

But since 1994 I have been drinking tonic water with quinine and a slice of lime in it. And my wife got me on multi-vitamins with zinc back in 2018. So, inadvertently I have been taking quinine and zinc for several years. Maybe this reduced my symptoms and recovery rate, or maybe it was just my very robust immune system, but something seemed to have worked for this "unvaccinated" 71 tear old coot.

I hope one and all a safe, happy, and Merry Christmas. Don't let the bastards get you down.

264 Got an I-phone and Apple watch. My old phone is so out of date that it has taken 5 hours at the store and three calls to AT&T to get the I-phone partially set up. Now trying to transfer contacts and pics, so far two hours and nothing but frustration. Can't wait to try and pair the watch with the phone. Progress
