I'm not at all hopeful that Americans can remember as far back as 2019 and the roaring economy we had.
There's a huge shopping complex near me that was built at the beginning of that JEF's admin. It was supposed to be 2 phases. They built the first, and a huge portion remained vacant. They eventually scrapped plans on the second phase, even though they'd already started some pads. Trump comes in and in under 2 years, the place is completely full, and then they start up with phase 2. Another mall started going in down the street. Now? Phase 1 has lost many tenants, Phase 2 has stopped (again), all equipment has been removed. Don't know what's going on down the street, but they got a 7-11 and gas station that's mostly finished. The high density homes will most likely go in, but that might be it for now. A lot of downtown proper is booming - mostly because of the town being absorbed by San Jose. Most mom and pop places died. Trump was better for the economy. The COVID shit started the destruction and it's going to be a long road out of it regardless of who is in charge. I think it would be better now if Trump had not been cheated out of his election victory, but it would not be all sunshine and roses.
We did catastrophic damage, and to try to get out of it we need to stop making things worse. Biden's handlers and controllers don't know how to stop making things worse. The Biden administration on Wednesday extended a student loan moratorium that has allowed millions of Americans to put off debt payments during the pandemic. Under the action, payments on federal student loans will remain paused through May 1. Interest rates will remain at 0% during that period, and debt collection efforts will be suspended. Those measures have been in place since early in the pandemic, but were set to expire Jan. 31. Posted by: Bertram Cabot, Jr. at December 22, 2021 12:32 PM (63Dwl) 110

Our chocolate rations have increased from 25g to 20g!
I recently read Deborah Cadburys Chocolate Wars, which focuses mainly on the Plain People chocolate companies like, well, Cadbury (she is not-quite a distant relation to the Cadburys that used to run the company). But one of the things that really hurt Englands iconic chocolate companies was the confectionary ration, which started early in the war and lasted into the fifties. Which means that when Orwell was writing 1984, he was living under a chocolate ration. Posted by: Stephen Price Blair at December 22, 2021 12:33 PM (CX3cf) 119

I'm pretty sure his assault on freedom, the thousands of people who lost their jobs, thousands others who didn't want the shot and thousands more who simply believe in freedom of choice for medical care won't forget that. They are going to concoct a number -- a fake number for total deaths "caused by" "the unvaccinated." And that fake number will fake-trend on twitter and Fake News.
__________ It's such bullshit pretending that "unvaccinated" people caused anything. All we did was mind our own damn business, and refuse to agree to be used as Big Pharma lab rats for an experimental, untested, genetic treatment with unknown future side effects, for a virus with a better than 99% survival rate. If they want to blame somebody for the virus deaths, why not put the blame where it really belongs: on Fauci and the other government half-wits who were funding the Chinese bioweapons experiments on bat viruses? They are far more culpable for the destruction caused by the virus than any random "unvaxxed" persons. Posted by: TrivialPursuer--F*ck Joe Biden at December 22, 2021 12:42 PM (k4dH2) 200

The public reaction now looks at least somewhat similar to how the public was reacting to another president under whom inflation was an issue: Carter.
++++ This is a preposterous comparison. Under Carter, we faced the doulbe-whammy of both the second oil embargo and its effects on energy prices and the demand-pull effects resulting from a long period of untenable union contracts throughout the economy. Both had major inflationary side effects. Moreover, the world economy was still working through the hangover that resulted from decoupling the US from gold, which was not Carter's fault. Carter wasn't to blame for the economic issues that blossomed in his administration - and this is the only way it is fair to compare him to Biden. Biden is dealing the problems of a global pandemic after having been left a deplorably bad overall condition by his predecessor. The people are unruly and refusing to cooperate with vital anti-pandemic measures. The Congress refuses to take vital steps to energize the economy through plans like the BBB agenda. His hands are tied both by the incompetence of the prior administration and by the recalcitrance of the people and the legislature. Trump owns some blame for this, to be sure. Brandon has fucked things up much worse though, and we'll feel the effects for *years*. Particularly in fuel prices. Those aren't coming down for awhile, if ever. When Brandon was elected, I told Lady YD to expect a rampant inflationary spike, and she asked why. I said there were going to be a lot of things done to print more money, etc., but a big, huge problem was that fuel prices were going to explode immediately. She was all "well, we don't drive much, and we're economical with the heat, so at least there's that." So I explained how fuel prices affect *everything in the economy,* and it was like a light clicked on, because she hadn't really considered that angle. A year later (a week ago), I asked the gas price after one of her trips to the gas station... she said "I don't know. I can't bring myself to look. I just pump and go." Biden probably has more routes down to 25% approval than back to 50%.
Any moves to the center now will look motivated by poll panic, so he'll not get very much credit for it from the center/right but it'll still cost him support on the left. More moves to the left will generally be inflationary, so in addition to driving away even more of the center on a policy preference basis, would also drive-up his perceived incompetence levels as the inflation/economy gets worse. Trump owns none of this. Brandon shutting down Keystone Pipeline on day one bought this headache. Posted by: rickb223 Pureblood - non-GMO at December 22, 2021 01:09 PM (uXonU) ------- Oh, definitely. Trump would *never* have done that. I was talking about his big Treasury transfer-payments inflating the money supply. But that's a drop in the bucket. The new admin continued those policies, but I'm laying blame on them for the much huger problem of the energy economy, and many other things. One I didn't even consider - that an Administration could cause a near-immediate crisis in the largest and most sophisticated transit system in world history, making a supply shortage at the same time as an inflationary spike, while the ladyboy in charge of the DoT nursed his gay baby on paid vacation. That was very special. But there's also lots more. Brandon's handlers have been a disaster for us. Posted by: Yudhishthira's Dice at December 22, 2021 01:15 PM (hQ23g) 415
Danny Meyer, CEO of Shake Shack says you can;t buy food from his company any more if you don't meet Joe Biden's definition of a patriotic American.
Shake Shack food smells like two day old dead clams anyway, so no great loss. Posted by: Huck Follywood This is such a shame. Danny Meyer is one of the great restauranteurs and food entrepreneurs in America. He built his reputation on an outstanding customer experience, and great food. Huge fan of the original Shake Shack in Madison Square Park, but would rather go to McD's than the Shack for a burger today, to be honest. Shake Shacks, if I remember correctly, are in mostly Blue cities, so he's probably going to get away with this nonsense. Posted by: Darrell Harris at December 22, 2021 01:15 PM (mdjgu) 416

I know young idiots think that ESG has somehow changed everything because 1% of the cars out there are Tesla. Im pretty sure that the USPS tracking system uses the phrase in transit arriving on time to mean weve lost track of it somewhere between point a and b, and were hoping it shows up again. Interesting article by Daniel Horowitz on how the new Pfizer covid out-patient treatment drug, Paxlovid, is a protease inhibitor (like ivermectin, the most effective protease inhibitor on the market), but it's much less effective, and has many more dangerous side effects, than ivermectin.
But the new Pfizer drug, despite its dangers and lack of effectiveness as compared to ivermectin, is getting FDA approval soon. Because why let people use a cheap, effective, and safe drug like off-patent ivermectin when there is so much more money to be made on less effective, more dangerous, on-patent drugs like Pfizer's Paxlovid? "Because vaxxed people get it and give it. --
There are other studies suggesting the vaxxed are helping to spur the variants." makes sense to me that the vaxxed spread while asymptomatic, since that is what the "vaccine" does, reduces (hides) the symptoms, so they go out and become super spreaders. also makes sense that they spur/encourage the new variants, for that reason. They are producing the inoculum in their vaxxed body, so their (leaky vax) bodies are the incubator for resistant versions. Posted by: illiniwek at December 22, 2021 01:26 PM (Cus5s) 509
