Nice Moog.

Thanks to JROD for telling me about this version. I didn't know it existed.

2 That Gary Numan song is one of the best songs. Definitely top ten or five. Sounds awesome on guitar especially if you have two players for the main keyboard riff/groove and the lead/fill. Live version by Nine Inch Nails with Numan on vocals and another kick ass version by Fear Factory.

45 Remember when school districts were closing over creepy clowns.

Seems almost a distant memory by now.

That's what the TikTok story reminded me of.

Posted by: Bitter Clinger at December 18, 2021 04:46 AM (hhvb1)

46 London Breed is a puppet.

Two weeks ago she was in Union Sq saying that Walgreen's were closing because there were too many Walgreen's.

Now she's tough on crime. People are literally laughing at her, because we are all dealing with it every day. If she had any integrity she would jump off the dome of City Hall.

Posted by: San Franpsycho at December 18, 2021 04:47 AM (EZebt)

47 Umping off the bridge would be more spectacular.

Posted by: Infidel at December 18, 2021 04:53 AM (qpolg)

48 I know I'm weird, so feel free to bash me over my tin-foiled head.

But I sometimes think that things like the Ebola scare during Obama's presidency and stuff like the creepy killer clown viral campaign were just dry runs at seeing how easily the public could get induced into panic, which was then applied in reality during the COVID campaign.

I feel like someone is sitting in a room somewhere saying "We've got them cowering in their rooms afraid of catching a cold . Hahahahahahahaha! Now tell them they need a booster, time to dial up a few more billions in profit!"

Posted by: Bitter Clinger at December 18, 2021 04:55 AM (hhvb1)

49 And it really is all based on computer addiction.

If someone randomly approached you in the street, and you were otherwise oblivious, and said "Clowns! Clowns! Clowns are attacking!", you'd rightfully think they are insane.

But a few, randomly placed stories, a viral campaign, and some government entities acting on this 'threat', and all of a sudden you start thinking their might be something to it. Then you see a clown somewhere and it triggers you a bit.

Posted by: Bitter Clinger at December 18, 2021 05:00 AM (hhvb1)

50 Bitter Clinger, I guess that is why I feel so out of sorts. I'm not falling for this shit. Seems everyone around me is. I'm not conforming and it's causing problems with friends and family.

Guess I will be one of the first one taken to the camps.

Posted by: Infidel at December 18, 2021 05:00 AM (qpolg)

51 50 Bitter Clinger, I guess that is why I feel so out of sorts.

.....

Yeah, it's weird.

I'm fortunate enough that most of my family and social circle are similarly skeptical.

I think I'd feel way different if my circle were all true believers in the narrative. Probably very isolating in a way.

61 Amazon and tornado story...

"An Amazon delivery driver in Illinois was told to keep delivering packages after she reported hearing tornado sirens, with the dispatcher saying that the sirens were "just a warning." "

Exactly...the first step is a tornado watch, then a tornado warning, with the sirens, meaning a tornado has been spotted in the area and to take shelter.

64 everything I see, not just in this tornado but over the whole range gives me the idea that amazon is like the physical instantiation of the hr concept of employees as only worthless cogs at best, and worthless liabilities on the other hand.

to see the way those pitiful wage slaves pack merchandise for shipment is to realize that they literally have no time to care whether the job they do is done right or even adequately.

Someone needs to understand NWS terms, there. Watch means conditions are right for a tornado. Be wary. A "Warning" means confirmed tornado on the ground.

When there is a Warning, seek shelter immediately. The sirens going off should be a clue that this is serious.

67 Mornin', folk (or should I say closers?),

Up about 1/2 hour earlier than I planned. I glanced at my luminous watch dial, saw 3:10, figured I'd go back to sleep for a while. My mind kept whirring, as it does. I glanced again a bit later and saw . . . 3:10. The watch, a Steinhart automatic bought new a year ago, has a habit of stopping overnight unless I wind it about 12 turns before bedtime or wear it all day. Yet it is supposed to have a longer power reserve than just 24 hours. It's a neat GMT watch, it keeps good time and looks great . . . but I can't depend on it as I do my 43- and 50-year-old Rolexes.
