BIL has a $170K Sprinter conversion. Nice, but some surprising design choices.
Also bought a little ex-U-Haul box van, I turned it into a stealth RV. It's got shitloads of solar on the roof, and a damn big battery, a modest pantry and a toilet. FedEx was nice enough to get Whiting to make a rollup door latch assembly that can be locked/unlocked/opened/closed from inside the box, tho they're not cheap. Need to decide what fake company logo to put on it.
Got myself a Quigley 4WD GM van that I want to make something out of eventually.

There's a blogger / gear reviewer I stumbled across a while ago, who lives half the year out of a converted UPS delivery van.
Not a bad idea. My only thought is, good luck finding one that doesn't need a ton of work to get reliably rolling again. I imagine UPS doesn't ditch them until they've wrung every last usable mile out of them.
Kinda like going to a public auction and buying a decomissioned cop car or ambulance. Something's obviously wrong with it, and if whatever that is was fixable, it wouldn't be at auction...
That said - I'd think converting an ambulance into a van-life camper wouldn't be too bad. Already has tons of storage and lighting built in.

No, the bigger story is that we (with an assist from the Canadians) got their chieftan, the "Princess of Huawei" - Meng Wan Zhou - and arrested her for her crimes and crimes of her company. It was a major political move by the Trump administration.
Earlier this year, the Biden DoJ stood down, canceled the investigations and ended the action against her and Huawei. Then the Chinese demanded that she be repatriated and Trudeau, caught between a rock and a hard place, did so. China owns the United States government.

I did have one drill sergeant buttonhole me in the chow line by asking me what I'd do if someone gave me an order that violated my religious obligations as a Christian. I just kind of stood there squirming, trying to figure out how to get out of this trap, when he said (paraphrasing from memory): "It's not a trick question. God comes first." I doubt recruits have drill sergeants telling them to do God's will these days.

I think they do too. With ADA being so small, I even actually wound up in batteries with all of my drill sergeants. Last one was my favorite, he put me in for early e2 during basic, was on the promotion board when I went for my e5, and was my first sergeant when I got selected for warrant. I even ran into him again after I left the army when we were both going to college. Nice guy, 100% acting on their part as drills.

The closer you get to communism invariably the worse things get. Individual freedom and limited government work well in certain situations, but all systems are entropic. It's like having few laws and regulations. Those tend to accrete over time. Doesn't mean the starting point was bad.

A great autobiography that I finally read six months ago (Radical Son).
I was stunned learning, upon many things I that didn't know (a generation before my time), was that the name the Black Panthers called their hit squad (who murdered a friend of David's after he recommended her for a job -- the impetus for the scales dropping from his eyes) was "The Squad."
I assume it's no coincidence that that term has now been adopted by the overt American hating commies now in Congress and driving the D agenda.

That he made it to so high an office was very very lucky. It could have gone so many ways. Tho he did have a lot of help. Still he could've been stopped but by the time he got to the rough parts where his past would be raked over the media was already in on the plan and smoothed that over. That and the POC being so desirous of their first Black President would've overlooked anything.
