  • Twitter has bought chat platform Quill. (Quill)

If you use Quill, you have three days to download your history before they turn the servers off. I'm not being snarky, they are literally doing that.
Can I export my team's Direct Messages (DMs)?

No, we do not allow the export of Direct Messages.

If I don't export, will you delete my data?

Yes. On 1pm PST, Saturday, December 11th 2021 we will delete all user data, whether or not you've exported it.

    Well, thanks.

RAV-4. My daughter demanded the old one because my new grand-daughter has too much stuff for her mother's Corolla.

I found out all about the supply chain. The original car I ordered ended up due to arrive in February but my sales person bumped me up the queue twice because I don't care about colour (which changed twice).

35 Mornin', folk,

Always liked "The Logical Song." One of the multiple reasons I think 1979 was the last great year in pop music.

Up with the alarm, for once. Last night I planned to sit, sip coffee, and puff a pipe. But this is one of those mornings where I realize the smoke would be rushed, which contradicts the relaxing purpose of the whole thing; or I just don't feel like it. Maybe when I get home.

Chekov did not get all of his anti-inflammatory last night; he threw some of it up, and we didn't have the heart to make him go through the process again. He's doing okay, but just okay. I've got to feed him and slip him his nerve pain pill shortly.

You Really, congrats on the new car! I've never had a Toyota, let alone a small SUV or CUV. Must be nice to sit up a bit higher than (some of) the traffic.

45 Cars being "smart" . . . I happened to turn off and then -- thinking the car was still on, because it runs that quietly -- turn it back on again in quick succession Saturday night. The Buick did not like that and told me "No Remote Key Detected," even though the fob was sitting in my pocket as usual. When I turned the car off, it would not start again and the doors would not electronically unlock; I had to use the blade key. A quick look at the manual by flashlight told me there is a compartment deep in the console where you put the fob if the battery is low, and then the car will start. Voila. But -- at no time did the car say the key battery was low! The car has continued to perform perfectly. I bought 2 fob batteries and am keeping them in the car to be safe.

I'm glad GM's engineers thought of this. But I do long for the days of a blade key, and using it to start the car.

There were some hills to drive on in suburban Birmingham, some fairly steep and twisty. I put the Buick in manual mode and shifted (though the lever's position is awkward for that), downshifting for the grunt to climb and also to descend without working the brakes hard. A lot of fun. But I wouldn't want to *have* to do it, and especially in traffic.

That's the problem: the other drivers. They are the reason I don't fool with my phone or other distractions while driving. There's no predicting what those poorly-trained amateur * drivers will do, except that it won't be good for me.

There are only 2 that I know of in the metro area here; only 1 is major. I'm glad to have it, or that intersection would be a true clusterf*k. The odd thing is that the roundabout is old, from the early '50s when the suburbs were first being developed. The railings are a little high to see oncoming cars easily, but not too bad.

113 We've been computing with our imaginations all this time.

There is not computer network. That's silly what there is is a biochemical mind formed from the billions of axon connections in everyone's brain that links up to each other thru the cosmic strings which holds all our data. Our brains are just the interface device.

Our minds reside in the strings also which is why when the body dies (actually the brain and that's only 4 minutes tops without the body supplying oxygen and nutrients) our minds (what we laughingly call "the soul" looks like it disappears. That's because the connection to the cosmic strings has been lost. And only one brain (usually gurus can access other peoples) can access the pattern of memory that that brain transmitted to the cosmic string in your local sector. This is why we don't die we just lose the connection.

180 There's stranger things going on in the universe right now that make what I said very pedestrian.

We sit few millions of miles from a glowing ball of gas weighing billions of tons and all it's atoms are trying and succeeding in fusing with each other causing a huge amount of light and heat and other radiation such that it warms our planet to where we can live and walk around without special clothing in many places.

Yet that ball of gas could at any time go into a cascade that causes all of it to combine at once and blast out and burn us and our planet to a cinder with no warning and in microseconds.

That we get up every day and use that miracle to help us keep from running over drunk and stupid pedestrians on our way to work is the more unreal and amazing thing that we'll hear or see today.

186 'Ve Haff Vays Of Making You Get Vaxxed' - https://bit.ly/3ye8wkQ

As you know, I am vaccinated against Covid, and recently got the booster. I am a middle-aged man with immune system problems, so I judged it important to get vaxxed. I think most people should get vaxxed, but I oppose vaccine mandates.

I stopped reading there. I do not understand this attitude at all. Knowing all we know about the dangers of "the vaccines" and "the boosters", why would anyone (1) voluntarily get "the vaccine" (2) voluntarily get "the booster" (3) think it important to get a vax that weakens your immune system if your immune system is already weak (4) think most people should get vaxxed?

None of that is logical.

Saw a commercial for some drug again last night where they use carrots to represent a man's penis and say that one of the side effects is "penile fracture during an erection" and "don't have sex within 4 weeks of a treatment [using this drug]".

Yeah, sounds like something I want to run to my doctor and ask if he can prescribe that to me. I'm not even sure what the drug was supposed to do that was good. I wasn't even paying attention to it until I heard "penile fracture during erection". Um... WTF?

215 If people are clogging up the hospitals it's because the protocol they're using to "treat" covid or the vaxx injuries isn't working very well.

If they would try other stuff that has worked in other countries, perhaps the incidents of injury and death would go down.

I make no recommendations for what they should do. That they are not pursuing every possible drug or therapy that anyone claims can work shows that they are performing medical malpractice. I don't mean they should do every sort of weird thing heard on the internet but someone should be testing this stuff and they should have a better idea of what will alleviate the symptoms. That they are not is puzzling. That the FDA and CDC don't have any recommendations different than when they first discovered this speaks volumes of their incompetence or connivance with someone's agenda. Other than making people well again.

Penile fracture (corporal rupture) or other serious injury to the pen!s. Receiving an injection of XIAFLEX may cause damage to the tubes in your pen!s called the corpora. That is my conclusion. I retired early because I didn't realize how much the Human Resources cult had taken over business.

I was grilled about psycho babble stuff for a job that only entailed working with machinery. (something I did successfully for 40 some years. All kinds of machinery. All types of drive systems.)

After that last one which was "where do you see yourself in five years". I looked at year speechless (a rare situation for me) her depth of irrelevancy was a shock and I assessed immediately that she was a gate keeper who knew nothing about the job but did know how to keep out the riff raff. Guys like me.

Walked out and went to work as a cab driver part time and then delivered newspapers part time until I got to where I got my expenses under control. It's more than just the pipeline of goods that's the problem in the US. We don't produce anymore. We are teaching kids to waste time and think they're being effective and worth the salary they get. And would be angry if told what their work's value really is.

237 A contract that does not reveal all the specifics is not enforceable.

That they tried to weasel out of their responsibility for their vaxx shows that they knew it was going to hurt a lot of people but if they could get enough vaxxed right away that they would be in a better position for bargaining down the lawsuits.

And they also compromised the entire medical community which we can never repair. I cannot look at or trust a doctor ever again because I will always wonder what they did or did not do during this time of confusion fabrication.
