Rumor: Biden Considering Replacing Kumala As Vice President
I doubt this. It's unprecedented. It would cause a civil war in the party.
Also, no one is this proactive about a problem. No one. Especially not Sleepy Joe. Everyone's preferred solution to a problem is wait and see if it goes away. Maybe at age 65 Kumala will suddenly just get good at her chosen career as she enters her Twilight Years. LOL. But as impossible as that is, still, no one would take the dramatic, enormous step of firing a sitting VP with no pretext for doing so. I mean, the reason is: She sucks, and she no longer sucks in the good way. But you can't fire a woman just because she doesn't give you beejers. Not since Harvey Weinstein. I mean, not since Andrew Cuomo, anyway. However, there are a lot of rumors flying around and I guess it's fun to talk about the continued humiliation of poor Kumala, a Woman of Color, at the hands of a decrepit old White Man she once (understandably, it turns out!) called a racist, so why not. Supposedly people are talking about the reviewing the procedures for confirming a Vice President in the House of Representatives.Fox News host Jesse Watters implied that Biden may be considering removing Kamala Harris as Vice President after he said his network had heard 'whispers' of confirmation hearings in Congress. 'Our Capitol Hill Correspondent Chad Pergram tells us he's been hearing whispers suggesting there could be some new high-profile confirmation hearings on the horizon in the House of Representatives,' said Watters during the segment. 'Why is this a big deal? Because the house does not confirm normal nominees. But it does confirm vice-presidential nominees. Does this have something to do with Kamala Harris? It's been no secret she's been running out of favor with the Biden team,' he added. The host touched on reports over the weekend that the Biden-Harris post-election bliss, had worn out as aides became frustrated with her awkward laugh, 'dysfunction and lack of focus,' and low approval rate of just 28 percent. On Monday, Biden and Harris put up a united front when they stepped out of the White House together to sign the president's trillion-dollar infrastructure bill, after a CNN article on Sunday claimed that their relationship had soured. Pergram claimed he had been tipped by an email from a 'source,' but did not elaborate further.Now, adding this to the other rumor -- that Biden wants to get rid of Kumala by appointing her to the Supreme Court -- well that would satisfy the "resignation" criteria for replacing her. I mean, she's never been a judge and seems like a perfect idiot and her career has consisted chiefly of literal dick-riding, but sure, whatever, she has the Lived Experience of a Woman and more than that a Woman of Color so that's all you need if you're left wing. So they pressure the oldest leftwinger on the Court to resign -- that would be the 80+ year old Breyer (who has previously said he will not cooperate with schemes to get him out early, saying something like "I'll retire on my own schedule) -- they nominate Kumala, Mitch the Bitch and Lindsey Graham and John Thune and all the other Fake Conservative Chuckleheads confirm her in the interests of "cordiality" and "collegiality," and then they replace her with... Who? Who is going to be the political stick of dynamite that thrills the nation? Who do they think is going to solve their problems? The name being tossed around, of course, is Pete Bootyjudge, fresh off his TRIUMPH of totally changing his gayby's diapers and fixin' to startin' to contemplate considerin' the problem of resolvin' the shipping crisis that is his actual job. But you know, he's gay, so again, his Lived Experience As a Gay Man is a perfect substitute for -- in fact, a superior substitute for -- actual accomplishment.
If you have an ear for it, what you can hear between the lines of recent pieces of journalism is that 1) A lot of people with a look into things at the White House think Joe Biden is not going to run for re-election. 2) Just about everyone thinks Kamala Harris is a disaster. 3) A significant portion of insider Dems think Pete Buttigieg is the cure for what ails them. 4) Kamala Harris' team is desperate.I made fun of Kumala for blaming her situation on racism and favoring a White Man but I think I take that back: If they really are thinking of replacing her with this do-nothing, abandon-your-post-to-play-house nothing of a fart of a cipher, just because he's a Gay Man with Years of Lived Experience of Being Gay -- and the kind of White Man that other white men like myself call a vanilla whitebread ofay Yacht Club cracker -- yeah, I could see cause for some suspicions about favoring the White Man over the Woman of Color. I mean, both suck -- literally as well in the ways that count professionally -- but that means there's no reason to favor one over the other. And no reason to replace a sitting Vice President. Does Racist Joe Biden just prefer his incompetent inadequacy to come in a paler shade of milky? I mean, at least Kumala "earned" her spot as Vice President. That assumes total control in a country where elections still matter (hello VA). I can see them being in this state of mind, but I think it has more to do with the White House losing control of literally everything and desperation sinking in. They need to save something, so different factions start pointing fingers, desperate to lay claim to power within the party and direct control, hopeful to save something, most likely standing within the part at this point.

It is, but Biden is falling apart so quickly that they are out of options, I think. Keep him going to the SOTU, although increasingly out of the public eye. Start pushing out negative rumors about the West Wing so that people are a bit uncomfortable with him. Then, he gives a big SOTU where he declares that his admin has saved the country. The press praises it, but adds on at the end, "he looks so tired and worn down." A few weeks later he announces his resignation.

However, I don't think SCOTUS is the place they are putting her. She will never resign, she sucked too much to get to where she is. The other reason for a vacancy would be if she became POTUS.
Perhaps the real reason for the rumor is not that they hope Biden can convince her to resign, but that the people floating the rumor want/expect Biden to resign.

Makes sense now why Leahy announced his alleged retirement this far out from the actual election voting. Leahy is a person of color, presuming that ultra-translucent white counts as a color (which, by that definition, also makes him a trans person, given that he is literally trans-lucent ... intersectionality points there). The thought is that the 188-year old Leahy will make Biden look young and spry by comparison.

He is the only type of candidate that would work. Republicans will never vote to confirm a potential contender for 2024. They wouldn't want to give someone the position of incumbency. Thus, nobody who would actually run for the job.
Biden can't kick out the first WPOC under his own side's rules. He needs either a woman or POC to replace her. That person has to be acceptable to both wings of the Dem coalition. None of the D-Senators (or R-Senators) who see themselves as President (all of them) will confirm a Senator, unless someone old and useless like a Leahy. They won't confirm a Congressman who would be getting a boost up from likely obscurity. It is unlikely that a replacement like a Karen Bass or the woman running against Rubio would want to be perceived as being part of the knife brigade. That leaves a very small list of people. They can't appoint someone that could turn out to be as incompetent as Harris.
Clyburn is relatively moderate for the D caucus (he did stop the Sanders train). He is a POC checks that box. He is liked by both wings of the D caucus, check that. He is actually older than Biden, but mentally sharp.
