Ideally, the only open question one should ask on cross examination is the heads I win, tails you lose type of question.
Hollowpoints v. FMJ is that type of question--you plan to hammer the defendant either way. Problem is that the defendant did not choose the ammo apparently. I think that Balch did (the guy selling Kyle the firearm).

This is confused. the shot does not at any time claim to grant immunity, and it is known that they have a limited time frame of effectiveness.
The number of shots is "every 4 months until you die" because they stop doing anything after a few months. Its "effectiveness" is merely "reduces the symptoms" while crippling your immune system.
Overall the shot is ridiculously worthless and even potentially very bad.

In some states, mis-stating the law in closing like that can get a reversal of a conviction from due process concerns.
Supreme Court dealt with a Washington state case where the prosecutor misstated the felony accomplice rule in closing. Waddington v. Sarusad, I believe. The court held it was a minor error and so did not violate due process rights of defendant. But a large enough error like the prosecutors commenting on the defendant's refusal to talk, aka 5th Amendment right to silence, would violate due process.

It seems that there is an accumulative effect against the immune system such where the first shot is relatively benign, killing and maiming only the most vulnerable, then the second shot kills and maims the next tier, then the booster, acts like an angel of death killing and maiming even more. Each person's immune system and ability to absorb more of the toxin decreases with each jab.

I don't know what all the counts/charges are but the Freisler brigade of Fat boy and Little man took a big torpedo with the nixing of the gun charge.
Their prosecution was a de facto boon to the defense in its complete incompetence.
I don't see a hung jury. I don't think it's a unanimous acquittal for political reasons of individual jurors, but the majority will set him free.

And as to the original question the answer is yes. And it did get talked about when littlefinger went with that argument. If it had been hollowpoints he'd have been arguing about how awful it was for him to use them. Probably something like he didn't load the gun to "stop the threat" he loaded it to ensure that whoever he shot would die.

I think even that is mostly just talk for talks sake. But the point is the police use hollow points, not some of the time, but all of the time
Hollow points are nothing strange. They are standard issue. Again I am not sure why this came up in this case. Hollow point AR ammo is not as common, no doubt there. I hear it exists but either way it would not change anything. If someone thinks an AR needs hollow points to be deadly, they obviously don't know the weapon.

If it's only a lone holdout, they aren't going to withstand sitting there for hours or even days with the other jurors yelling at him/her to let them get out of there and go home already. It'd have to be some full on commie true believer that wants vengeance at all costs. Someone who merely had their sense of propriety hurt would need allies on the jury to hold out with together instead of just acquiescing to the consensus.

No way this judge is going to do that. That's the only thing about which I'm certain. He has deferred to let the jury see and hear as much as possible. He's working hard (reasonably or not) to get them to have the material to make a decision. I don't think there's any way whatsoever he stomps on their verdict. Plus, I'm sure he doesn't want the mob (with the protection of the State (via DA's office)) to redirect their assets and agents against him down the line.

The argument that Kyle should have just had a fist-fight with Rosenbaum is stupid. There were hostile rioters on all sides of Kyle. How long would it have taken for them to run to help Rosenbaum kill Kyle, once they saw Kyle wasn't going to use his gun? A few seconds, at most.
And once they had Kyle subdued, how many more seconds would it have taken for them to take his gun off him and shoot him dead with it? Not more than a few more seconds, at best.

As I said earlier, Casey Anthony got an acquittal. Juries tend to do their jobs. It is a lot harder to stand up to peer pressure in the jury room than peer pressure from the media.
And the prosecution has not even come close the "beyond a reasonable doubt" standard.

I'm just guessing, but couldn't he poll the jurors on each count? So if he found out one or two were gumming up the works, he could issue a directed verdict? In other words, he would be on solid ground to end this entire farce since the vast majority of the jury was for acquittal.
