And it is a happy Sunday for me. The red glow of the sunrise coming up over the dark trees was beautiful. Soon I will be with some people I love at church, hopefully hearing our organist play the great old hymns, "Rock of Ages", Come Thou Fount of Every Blessing and "My Faith Look Up to Thee," to hear the scripture and particularly words of hope and encouragement in Hebrews 10:11-25. I am not preaching on that passage but it is a good one
Then I have a church meeting over Zoom (uggh) but the man who is conducting it is a clergyman whom I like and respect very much and hopefully the meeting will be over fairly quickly.
Then to reward myself I'm going to see the movie about C.S. Lewis. "The Most Reluctant Convert" with some people I also love,.

From a chart I've seen monoclonal has really low efficacy. Like 1% compared to 80% for other medications. The so-called 'horse paste' is in the 70% range.

Human is 1% by volume and horse paste us usually 1.87%. So if you are a 200 lb man you need about 125 to 130 ib dose of horse paste. Mine is marked in 10 125 lb doses.

According to a report published online in the journal Antiviral Research, the drug quickly prevented replication of SARS-CoV-2, the virus that causes COVID-19. The study has been peer-reviewed and accepted for publication, although it is not yet a "definitive" version of record.

Many prisons in Latin America (Mexico, Ecuador, etc) are actually run by the Cartels and other similar mobs. They use them to hold the people they really hate, plus whoever the nominal govm't sends them if they agree. I've read that in a lot of Mexican prisons, the prisoners aren't even fed unless their family shows up each day to bring them food and payoffs for the jailers.
in other words, England in the 1200's or so. Some of the "prisons" actually function as working HQ's for some of the mobs - a perfect disguise.

Apparently if Pfizer can get the vaccine in the routine schoolkid vaccination schedule it changes their liability for the general population for Comirnity (whatever) and it limits payouts to an individual to $300k or so over the course of a lifetime.

I think the big problem this year has been that the 'Horns fielded a team that smacked their opponent all over the field in the first half, then gave it all away and lost in the second half.
I would say that's either a coaching or training issue, but...that being said the components are obviously there. They just need to get everything working throughout an entire game. The coach needs one to two more years, though this year is not going to help recruiting.
Ah well...Go Horns!!!

No, they are both close to 60 pounds. Just got back from our walk and did not see the hawk, I guess he is taking the day off.

as a lot of people on those message boards have pointed out, any sports gambler who's been watching this season should have jumped all over those odds, you could see this coming from a mile away. Some of them did, and they're crowing about it this morning.
just a note - this is why paying attention to what the "odds" are in Political contests is idiotic. They get things completely wrong just like everyone else does.

Oh good! Back in Denver we used to have coyotes stalk our dog park - didn't help that the pack lived in the adjacent meadow. Had a friend whose dog was snatched by coyotes out of her back yard, too.

It's been ramping up here for a while now. Usually we get the illegals who don't want to be caught coming across while Texas gets swamped with the 'asylum seekers'. Now that Brandon has been removing border barriers (including the new 30 foot Trump Wall) the numbers of fake asylum seekers have been going way up.
Had a US citizen fatality 2 weeks ago about 25 miles NW of me. Speeding smuggler ripped her car right in half.

College football is all about showcasing oneself for the NFL. The best players are going to go to schools where they know they have the best chance to be drafted.
Since 2000, Texas has had 77 players drafted in the NFL (16 in Round 1). As a comparison, Alabama may have 77 players drafted in Round 1 of the draft alone during that time.
It is ironic that with the state of Texas supposedly being all about high school football, that UT can't even seem to recruit the best players from its own state. Texas native Drew Brees only had two college offers, Purdue and Kentucky.

Wow, I thought I was the only one who had this dream. I have different variations of it. Sometimes I can't find my classes. Sometimes I can't find my class schedule to know where I need to go. Sometimes I can't find the exam room to take the exam. I always wake up a complete wreck, filled with worry and anxiety. Until I realize after a minute or two that I am not back in college and I have not just ruined my future. I think I typically have these nightmares when I am worried about a tough project for which I haven't yet found the solution at my current job.

Well, I was a little off on the Alabama drafted players. Since 200, they have had 137 players drafted into NFL, 41 in Round 1. 39 of those between 2009-2021. During that same time, Texas has had 4 players drafted in Round 1. 42 players drafted in NFL total.
So between 2009 and 2021, while Alabama had 41 players drafted in Round 1, Texas had 42 players total drafted. Nick Saban was hired as head coach in 2007. Between 2000 and 2006, Alabama had 2 players drafted in Round 1. So an elite head coach - and coaching staff - can definitely make a difference for a program.

I thank everyone for their kind wishes. At least for the immediate future, my journeying will be via airlines, although I hate getting back in the skies with a passion under today's circumstances.
My sister, who posts here from time to time (although I do not recall under what nickname as she confines her activity to the pet thread), will carry the lion's share of the load. She and I are the only two who presently are retired and can block out significant chunks of time to cover the tasks.
