The Morning Report - 11/11/21

dogpoohafters.jpg

Good morning, kids. Thursday, and before diving in, let me wish everyone who has served and especially those who are still in uniform, a very happy Veterans Day. Given the state of our nation, and who and what is running it, I can't even imagine what you all must be going through. But I am grateful for your service and give thanks for your presence and perseverance in a situation that is virtually every bit as difficult as war itself. And a belated happy birthday with equal sentiments to the United States Marine Corps.

Last night I watched the movie Moneyball and towards the end of the movie, when Billy Beane (played by Brad Pitt) meets with Boston Red Sox owner John Henry (played by Arliss Howard) about potentially leaving the A's to be the Sox GM, Henry says:

. . . I know you're taking it in the teeth, but the first guy through the wall -- he always gets bloody. Always. This is threatening not just a way of doing business, but in their minds it's threatening the game. Really what it's threatening is their livelihood, their jobs. It's threatening the way they do things. And every time that happens, whether it's a government, a way of doing business, whatever it is, the people who are holding the reins, they have their hands on the switch, they go batshit crazy. . .

Well, doesn't that just hit you right between the eyes (and the irony of it being written by rabid Lefty Aaron Sorkin). Yes, I'm referring to what happened to President-in-Exile Trump in 2016 and then of course a year ago. Max Morton, himself a combat veteran had this to say in regards to the events of last week both in Virginia and in Congress:

Americans are being victimized daily by an administration that flaunts the rule of law with unconstitutional vaccine mandates, shreds the constitutional rights of its citizens by declaring them terrorists for defending their children, and delivers one incompetent failure after another -- from humiliation in Afghanistan to policy-driven supply chain breakdowns and rising inflation. What America needs right now is a strong opposition party to put the Biden [junta] in check. Unfortunately, we don't have one.

This past week, we watched as 13 Republican House members provided the key votes to pass the Biden [junta's] $1.2 trillion infrastructure bill -- a bill laden with progressive pork programs for the wealthy donor class. The Democrats couldn't garner enough votes in their own party to pass the bill, even though they hold the majority (albeit a slim one) in the House of Representatives. Republicans, instead of taking advantage of this potential victory to force some level of sanity into the administration's domestic policies, chose to deliver the necessary votes. Yep, this is your GOP -- the junior varsity of the ruling class uniparty. . .

. . . If you're waiting for the GOP to rescue you from an authoritarian regime bent on restructuring the republic into a globalist oligarchy, good luck with that. You can't expect to take your country back by sitting on your couch, sending money to wealthy politicians, and mailing in your ballot during what is now Election Week. . .

. . . Youngkin, a wealthy, retired CEO of the Carlyle Group, who up until this point had not been a serious contender in the governor's race, heard these outside voices. He could see and feel what the people of Virginia wanted, and he set aside the consensus advice of his political consultants and went where the people wanted him to go. Youngkin was never a white knight . . . until the people of Virginia trained him and built him into one. This is the power of a grassroots political movement!

While I applaud and agree with Morton's assertions to become active at the grassroots level, I would caution that that is what the Tea Party was until it was co-opted and turned into Tea Party Inc. I left this comment:

Which is more powerful; the grassroots movement that voted Youngkin in - in reality just a rarely unified electorate that was repulsed by Terry McAuliffe - or the billions in lucre of the Chamber of Commerce and all the other Globalist oligarchs who will own you or destroy you if you oppose them once you win an election? And I'm not even including an entire bureaucracy as well as a seriously corrupt judiciary and propagandist media that can thwart you at every turn.

Even if we can overcome Dao-Min Yen and an overflowing Atlanta toilet, I cannot see voting our way out of this. And it's beginning to look like, with very rare exceptions, we never ever could in the first place. At least not since the end of World War 2.

Hope I'm wrong but my eyes are wide open to reality.

At the risk of sending mixed signals, I do think that involvement at the lowest possible local level is probably the most effective way of getting a handle on the situation. Nazi collaborator George Soros' efforts to buy local district attorneys and secretaries of state, evil as it was and is, is nevertheless brilliant. They can sabotage the enforcement of law as well as control the electoral processes to such an extent that it obviates the need to win large numbers of heretofore difficult-to-win larger political offices and try to pass the most toxic of legislation, Dao-Min Yen notwithstanding. After last Tuesday, you can bet your sweet ass that the next target will be to shut us out of school boards and community boards.

Meanwhile, having been smacked across the face in Virginia, they are indeed continuing to go "batshit crazy."

Parents with children enrolled in the Scottsdale Unified School District were appalled when they uncovered that one of the district's school board members had editing access to a Google Drive that included personal pictures and information on a slew of outspoken parents, including their social security numbers, a divorce proceeding, and financial records.

Mother Kim Stafford uncovered a Google Drive link when school board President Jann-Michael Greenberg sent her an email accusing her of "anti-Semitic" comments against billionaire George Soros. Greenburg sent Stafford a screenshot of his desktop, which included a since-deleted Google Drive URL reviewed by the Daily Caller. The drive was available to anyone who had the link.Stafford shared the link with her friends, including mother Amanda Wray who told the Daily Caller she was "disgusted" when she saw that the drive included pictures of her 8 and 10-year-old daughters.

Parents have since dubbed the Google Drive an "online dossier." The folders housed within the dossier are labeled "SUSD Wackos," "Press Conference Psychos," and "Anti Mask Lunatics," among others. Included under "Press Conference Psychos" was a video that shows parents calmly holding signs that read "CRT is Racist" and "SUSD We Demand Transparency."

The dossier takes specific aim at the concerned parent group "Community Advocacy Network" (CAN). Administrators and founders of CAN's active Facebook page have folders dedicated to screenshots of their Facebook comments, pictures of them with their husbands, and in some cases financial records.

Two things; first although this seems to be a local event, I do not think it's an outlier. Given the nature of who and what are running the schools, not just in the bluest of socialist shit-holes but even in red state America, I think this is happening across the country. Second, given what we know of with the now exposed NASB, it is not unreasonable to assume AG Moloch Garland and his overlords in the Klain/Kalorama Klown Kabal are colluding and coordinating with them.

Whatever one feels about the integrity of elections - and believe me, after 2020 that situation is at the very least seriously in doubt - if the Junta felt it were a lead pipe cinch that they were in the bag, they would not be going absolutely insane about school boards, vaccine and mask mandates, and all the rest of it. Speaking of things rigged, the polls are an absolute disaster across the board for Joe+Blow. In a sane, rational world, they would immediately slam on the emergency brake and then reverse course.

But they cannot do that. They will not do that. Think leopard changing its spots. Again, is the ideology driving the insanity or vice versa? Yes, embrace the power of "and." I think that the Left hand truly believes that its policies are beneficial and will lead to a paradise on earth while the Far Left hand knows it will cause the death and dismemberment of millions on the way to said paradise.

What is happening to Kyle Rittenhouse, as decent a young man as you can imagine, is no accident. Like the targeting of parents at school boards, or the continued imprisonment in the Garland Archipelago of innocent American citizens, this trial is no doubt meant to set an example. Even if he is acquitted or the judge declares a mistrial in a way that prevents a retrial, the resulting re-Dresdenization of Kenosha - and more than likely a few dozen other cities - will serve the Junta's purpose of divide and conquer.

And right on cue, we have this from my hometown, soon to be departed for greener (redder) pastures:

A Black Lives Matter leader said there will be "bloodshed" after debating police reform with Mayor-elect Eric Adams during a contentious sit-down with the incoming Democrat at Brooklyn Borough Hall Wednesday.

Although Adams found common ground with the activists on plans to fight poverty in the black community, the former NYPD captain vowed to bring back the Anti-Crime Unit, which was disbanded during widespread police protests last year.

"If they think they are going back to the old ways of policing then we're going to take to the streets again," New York BLM co-founder Hawk Newsome said outside Borough Hall. "There will be riots. There will be fire, and there will be bloodshed."

This was after Adams, who for sure is no conservative, had made very pro law and order statements after his victory, which to say the least irked the terrorists. All of this, taken together shows that we are indeed a nation divided. But are we destined to be conquered?

That is the $28 trillion-dollar question, my friends. Not going to lie; things are bleak. But as powerful as this enemy is - and it is incredibly powerful - it is not infallible. We are in for some interesting times for sure. But therein lies the opportunity. To hell with the GOP. It's going to be up to us to defeat these monsters.

In that light, a hearty fuck you and drop dead to both Paul Begala and LeBron James.

And let me add, aside from the off-the-charts chutzpocritical projection, it's language like Paul Begala's that gets people killed. Mr. Begala, you and your ilk can thank your lucky stars that contrary to your non-stop blood-libeling, the American people are G-d-fearing, peaceful, tolerant and forgiving. But I am here to tell you, you better pray that that situation never comes to an end because one day it very well might.

My book, The End of America: 100 Days That Shook the World, is available now at the link.

Also, regardless of how you purchased it, please leave a review on Amazon as it helps boost visibility while putting me on Moloch Garland's watch list. Win-win!

When Bush 43 was elected, with both houses of congress, most R voters expected deep cuts to the bloated $2T budget, and the closing of cabinet level divisions in the government. 33 Oh, and I track our rapid decent to Jan 6, 1999 - not that we weren't on the wrong track before then, but that's the point in time in which everything started on a negative arc irrespective of which party was in power in DC.

Why? That's when Denis Hastert became the most powerful R in DC as Speaker of the House. The Dems/Media has sabotaged Newt G and his chosen successor Bob Livingstone - both of whom were...prepare for it...having affairs.

Since then a number of reporters have admitted they new Hastert was a pedophile at the time but decided not to publish any information on it...until after he left office.

You'll also note the last time the Republican congress did anything to cross the Dems was shortly before Hastert was installed. What a coincidence.

I think the current what seems like a movement by parents to finally start paying attention to what their children are being taught is good. As it has exposed the utter filth and radicalism that is being taught in America's schools. But it has also exposed just how entrenched it is in school boards, in teachers' unions and in teachers themselves.

Public officials forming dossiers on citizens for the purpose of coercion and blackmail so they can continue their immoral and illegal activity from their positions of power?

No, that is not an isolated event. That it was in a local government agency is the only reason it was done so directly and in such a straightforward way. When you get to the big time in the federal government, you get a system like the NSA databases to make it all easier and depersonalized. That's key. It needs to be big and non-personal to enable totalitarian-scale slaughter. Killing, when it is up close and personal, tends to wear on a man. Systematizing it and scaling it up is an essential component to the effective and successful genocide. Counter-examples are rare.

Yes. The family is subversive, and to the state it is the most subversive thing. Why? Because family matters. The family business is largely independent. The close family will defend itself because its members will defend each other. The family breeds loyalty within it. That is all unacceptable to a totalitarian state. The family must be made subservient and subordinate to the state. That doesn't happen. When forced to choose, too many will choose their brother over their commissar.

So the family must go. Retreating into the family will not be permitted. Home schooling is a retreat into the family, and will be forbidden by some means.

60 If the school system is releasing records on you, you need to get the heck out of that school system.

At the very least, this seems to be a prime focus by state legislators. Legislation must be crafted and laws must be passed to protect each and every parent. And those that possess and disseminate, for purposes of harassment, any personal information on students or their parents must face stiff jail time. Of course, just like doxxing for the same reasons, legislators on both the state and federal levels just sit around twirling their thumbs and whistle while looking upward and won't take action on this very serious matter.

Nice idea, but laws are only as good as those willing to enforce them. We know from the last couple decades that we are no longer a nation of laws and the system chooses which laws they want to enforce. Illegal immigration laws not enforced, local DAs in cities choosing not to enforce numerous laws on the books ("space to destroy"), election laws not enforced, etc.

So while I agree that, in a perfect world, passing laws to protect parents would be the solution, the system is so corrupt, that I don't think anyone would bother enforcing the laws.

I disagree. Journalism is a fairly simple trade. You observe, and you report. Literacy is the only real requirement, along with whatever natural perspicacity you acquired at birth and honed throughout your life. There are exceptions, like the true investigative journalists like Jon Solomon and James O'Keefe, but not all reports need to be that or even want to be that.

Watch. Listen. Write. That's it. Journalism school doesn't need to exist at all. We'll have a much better group of journalists on average if we do away with the pretext of how special and difficult it is. Just let a high school graduate who can string words together walk in the door, work on the fluffy local beat and then make his way up. Experience is the crucible in which talent is formed. Absent the need for specialized knowledge - and journalism has none - school is largely redundant for such professional paths.

Oddly, our only real hope to avoid the bloodshed the Democrats so eagerly again seek (1861 redux for them) may indeed be elections. Honest elections may be silly to dream of, but its far better to dream positively and optimistically!

90 I read the link re: Buttigeig being challenged by Mika on his pathetic response to why there are so many job opening.

It's odd how when the MSM discusses this topic they always reference the open entry-level jobs, and how those wages have gone up. Are these the only jobs that are open, and if so (that this is the general case), how is that not an indicator of what might be going on? Maybe the higher paying jobs are filled because there are fewer of them thanks to the pandemic? Maybe that also might explain why these entry level jobs are not seen as such an awesome opportunity when you've lost your well-paying job, and you have a lot of experience in your field, and/or you have huge debt (from tuition, whatever) -- hey. maybe slinging burgers is not so tempting? Maybe there are job openings because there's been a huge shift in the marketplace as millions of small businesses were wiped out and in their place huge companies such as Amazon and Walmart grew?

Not saying anyone is above any kind of work, just that the analysis on this issue seems to be about 1mm deep, and there seems to be an intentional avoidance of how the middle-class income supporting jobs are being eliminated.

If you go back and read about what Newt G or Reagan did in their times in office you can see examples of what a party in opposition to the Dems might look like.

125 Nothing. You want a real eye opener? You'll get one if you ever catch a snippet of what passes for news. Whether it's the top of the news hour on a radio station, or the unbelievable garbage that's shoveled out to the masses on any TV station. It's Twilight Zone stuff. Two different worlds. The mirror opposite of reality. An enormous pack of lies. It's breathtaking to watch them, and soul crushing knowing that millions of people believe them, or at the very least, are unaware and ignorant.

Posted by: Lady in Black at November 11, 2021 08:15 AM

And it's not just media anymore. It's everything. Including the entire "healthcare" industry. The Michigan Dept of Health and Human Services has been paying for commercial time for months on the local classic rock radio station I listen to (WLLZ 106.7FM). All different propaganda commercials about COVID-19 "vaccines". All with sob stories about "Michigan, here's the story of Kaylie, who was unvaccinated" and with outright lies pushing the claim that the "vaccines" are safe for pregnant women. If these commercials are on a classic rock station, you know they're everywhere.

... [other] initiative will be available for anyone who is 18 years and older, lives in the city limits and earns up to 200% of the federal poverty level per year - or $25,760 for a single-person household. The city estimates the program should benefit more than 275 families.

++++
We - and everyone else - needs to stop doing this. Neither of these programs is a UBI scheme. Both of them are straightforward cash-handout welfare schemes with all sorts of gating requirements be they racial or economic. That is not UBI, because the "U" doesn't apply. Will this keep poor folks out of the labor force? To some degree, especially the first program. The second has a work requirement as it appears you do have to have an income. But this ain't UBI, and so the cross-section of damage will be limited in comparison.

Indeed, she was a young widow and when I found her first husband -- he'd enlisted in the Canadian Army in 1917 and died with some others from a mortar attack on ... wait for it ... November 11, 1918. I was stunned! Indeed, he was one of the last to officially die in WWI -- just hours before the armistice went into effect. Crazy.

Everyday I use social media (FB) to post information on the local news sites as well as the MSM news sites. I feel it's important to call them out for covering up stories that make the Democrats look bad and reporting only negative stories regarding Republicans.
I also did this months before the election on the Virginia local media websites.

185 Isn't VAERS self-reporting by patients?

******

Not entirely. Can be reported by providers or facilities as well. Verifying a causal relationship is problematic, as it intrroduces a bit of 'foxes guarding the henhouse' element. As you say, reported events may be wrongly dismissed.

I think if you even look only at the cases of myocarditis that the CDC acknowledges as 'veerified', there is a real bump. Problem is, myocarditis in the general population is a rare condition (on the order of 1 to 10 per million per year), and the bump in cases is also rather small, but certainly evident enough to warrant at the very least caution in young people if not a full suspension of vaccination in kids.

200 California universities do not accept any test scores already, no ACT or SAT's. Berkeley and all other UC schools use transcripts to judge academic aptitude.

Abandoning rigorous grading in secondary schools will make admissions to California's much in-demand public universities a complete racial quota system. They ask everyone race and gender identity questions today. The schools will arrive at some non-transcript assessment of academic quality scheme, and then the quotas will be the final hurdle.

Yeah. But I do wonder what a self-reported database of something else (let's say of "Long COVID" symptoms) would look like.

It isn't just self reported. Healthcare staff are required to report some things (though often they don't now). Also, it is against the law to submit something false.

But...the most important thing to note here - prior to the clot shots there were only a handful of reports - something like 99% of adverse events reported are against the clot shots. Which is what you would EXPECT to see if there was a problem with them.

Oh...and as I mentioned previous studies have found that vaers dramatically under counts reports - by a factor of 100X to 5x. Amusingly, I was reading a take down on vaers by a clot shot proponent and he made a reasonably compelling argument that vaers is probably only undercounting deaths by a factor of 2X at most.

Even iff true that means there are more deaths from the clot shot then all vaccines in American history since the introduction of vaers.

From a news report:

So, the "metaverse" which is basically Facebook's Zucky Ducky Doo's fanatically controlled "Ready Player One"-type AR space where you or most likely your children will be subjected to 3-axis 360*, 24/7 propaganda via entertainment and educational programs, must also follow China's dictate (and propaganda) to be allow into China.

How often has Zuckerberg ever resisted Chinese tampering and tyranny in Facebook's business? That would be never.

Why is this a thing now? More Great Reset pile on.
Our Betters seem to realize there a non-zero chance of them losing political power (esp after this last election) and want everything in place, so that the voices of the Middle and Working Classes matter not at all.

229 To which the prosecutor said, "but he didn't shoot you...why'd you have to shoot him?"
__________

Yes, that was a particularly imbecilic line of questioning, even for Binger. He was arguing that Kyle obviously had the advantage over Grossface (having that big scary AR-15 pointed at him) so clearly Kyle had no need to shoot Grossface. The problem is that Grossface himself didn't seem to agree. Grossface wasn't as intimidated by the big, scary AR-15 as Binger is (and wants the jury to be). When Kyle pointed his AR-15 at Grossface, Grossface pulled his concealed Glock out and pointed it at Kyle. Then he started moving towards Kyle.

That's not speculation, either. That is what Grossface himself testified at the trial. And you can bet that an endless loop of Grossface's testimony will be playing in the offices of the lawyers now representing the defendants in Grossface's multi-million-dollar civil lawsuit against Kenosha. Because like Binger, Grossface's lawsuit left out those inconvenient details like the fact that Grossface was shot by Kyle while he was coming at him with a loaded Glock pointed at his head.

Entrenched? Perhaps. I suspect so, at least in some areas. It was hidden, though. 2007-2008 was spooky and weird. I was finishing up college (graduated in '0 and it happened around me in real time. College was always a loony left nut house, but it was also largely what it claimed to be: tolerant. I was a radical political and social outlier, but I was tolerated and wasn't punished for it.

Then Obama hit the scene. People around me got excited. Then he started winning primaries. Things got cold and hard-edged over night. It was like someone sent out a signal that this was their time, and they could let their freak flags fly. The tolerance started drying up. Everything got chilly and mean. They knew, somehow, that it was go time as soon as he started racking up victories. I got out, literally, just in time.

254 What is happening to Kyle Rittenhouse, as decent a young man as you can imagine, is no accident. Like the targeting of parents at school boards, or the continued imprisonment in the Garland Archipelago of innocent American citizens, this trial is no doubt meant to set an example.

Got that right. How many people are watching that and seeing how the DA went after Kyle on the stand and thinking "holy shit, I would never be able to keep my cool in that situation and the jury would hang me for sure". I know that's what I thought reading the posts yesterday about the trial. I am not a cool-under-pressure type of person when faced with utter stupidity, idiocy and annoying bullshit. I would have cracked and gone off on a rant under that questioning.

And how many people have kept up with the J6 political prisoner situation and understand that is what will happen to them if they dare attend even a political protest in support of an issue against the Deep State. And are thinking "I cannot afford to be arrested and in jail like that. I have a family to support and do not have the money for a lawyer to defend myself. I cannot take any chances now with protesting."

This was an awesome angle.

I think that Binger was aiming to create a scenario with Rittenhouse as a Walter Mitty hero cop/firefighter/EMT, and that he had no reason to be out on the streets doing that when there are already cops and firefighters and EMTs. But anyone in Kenosha knows that they weren't doing anything.

Actually, my very favorite argument Binger made was that in defending himself, Rittenhouse was only interested in his own safety - that this was somehow hypocritical when he went there to help people.

I can't figure out if Binger believes his own bullshit or not. But if so, he is quite a piece of work.

Too many naive people thought that election Obama would be a time of racial healing, but it was the exact opposite. Instead of eliminating racism and living the MLK, Jr dream of a color-blind society based on content of character, Obama and his radicals inspired every racist radical in the nation.

I am not sure when it happened, but we have become a nation where instead of teaching people that hard work is good and persistence will pay off in the long run... we are a nation that says your circumstance is not your fault, it is the fault of the system and you should put forth effort not in trying to improve yourself and your situation, but in trying to change the system to take money from others and give it to you.

And all this does is teach people that they do not need to work hard at anything, because they can just get bailed out by the system. The more bailouts that exist, the less incentive there is to fix your own situation.

What was that Toqueville quote: "The American Republic will endure until the day Congress discovers that it can bribe the public with the public's money".

We've created a society of unthinking drones who believe their primary mission is to obey authority and we are being governed by the same people whose mantra growing up was question authority.

345 Saint of the Day:
St. Martin of Tours (c. 316-397 A.D.) in what is now Hungary. He was raised in Italy where his father, a senior officer in the Roman army, was stationed. At the age of ten Martin joined the Church as a catechumen soon after Christianity was legalized across the Roman Empire. Taking after his father, he joined the cavalry at the age of fifteen and was stationed in Gaul. At one point during his time of service he encountered a poor beggar who lacked adequate clothing on a cold winter day. St. Martin took his sword and cut his heavy woolen officer cloak in half, and gave the other half to the beggar. Following this act of charity, St. Martin had a vision in which he saw Jesus wearing the portion of his cloak he gave to the beggar. After this vision Martin sought baptism, at the age of eighteen, and proclaimed himself a soldier for Christ. As bishop he continued his austere life, took great care to train holy priests, destroyed pagan worship sites, and worked to spread Christianity throughout his diocese. St. Martin of Tours is the patron saint of cavalry, soldiers, innkeepers, horses and riders, beggars, and those in need. His feast day is November 11th.

The military will become as unpopular as the nation's police force when the Democrats start using the military for law enforcement as they have been doing with the police force the past 20+ months. They are already working to rid the military of anyone who disagrees with the Democrats, by pushing them out with the "vaccine" mandates. We who are guided by reason and the thirst for objective truth -- which you used to NEED to SURVIVE daily (but obviated for many in the well-fed West of conveniences and prosperity) -- simply cannot wrap our heads around that mentality. Ayn Rand called it "willful evasion."

I started noticing when debating lefties decades ago they'd simply evade engaging. I'd present a scenario in which they'd have to make a choice, usually backing them into a contradictory corner ... and they'd scream "I'M NOT GOING TO ANSWER ANY HYPOTHETICALS!" or some other such mental gymnastics and literally run fast-walk away.

"Okay, granted, the violent rioters did attack you. But how could you ever have expected something like that to happen?"

I think Binger must have been trying to say that a medic who wasn't carrying a rifle wouldn't have been attacked. But he's not as smart as Rittenhouse, and can't win an argument with him.
____________

When Binger started that shit with Kyle, arguing that Kyle must have wanted to shoot and kill people, because why else would he have had a gun, Kyle should have just pointed to the courtroom bailiff and said: "Look at him. Do you think he plans to kill people in this room today because he has a gun on him? Do you think he wants to kill people in this room today because he has a gun on him? Of course you don't. You know that he strapped that gun on this morning because it's his job to be prepared for trouble in this room if it happens. He doesn't want trouble to happen, he's not expecting it to happen, but he must be prepared for it if it does happen. That is the situation that I was in too."

NEW: The activity in La Joya, TX is really starting to pick up again, similar to what we saw over the summer months. Early this AM, we saw group of 150+ cross illegally. Now, just down the road, a mixture of families and single male adult runners are being apprehended.

388 I still think the source of all of this is the public schools. We used to teach kids how to think, now they are taught what to think.

My first freshman engineering course at Purdue was Engineering 101 or some such. It was just a general introduction to engineering principles and also an introduction to how we needed to develop our study habits in order to succeed in the schools of engineering in Purdue's engineering program.

I still remember a number of little tid bits I learned in that course, but the one that I took to heart was when the professor stated "we are not going to teach you what to think, we are going to teach you *how* to think." What that meant became clearer during my years there. As we all learned that there is not always one answer to every problem or issue. We could develop different solutions. So we were not going to be taught what the solution is, but rather we were going to be taught how to think through the issue in a logical engineering mindset.

This was 94-95. I hope this is still the way they are teaching engineering there. I worry now that they might be teaching "engineering through the lens of CRT".

392 "If they think they are going back to the old ways of policing then we're going to take to the streets again," New York BLM co-founder Hawk Newsome said outside Borough Hall. "There will be riots. There will be fire, and there will be bloodshed."

This used to outrage me. Now I am just numb to it, because whether I am outraged or not, it doesn't matter. Because no one cares and nothing will be done about it. The ridiculous double-standard. No conservative, saying this for any reason, even in the face of totalitarianism and tyranny, could get away with saying something like this. Yet, everyone on the left has been saying things like this for decades with zero consequences. Which only has emboldened them. Disgusting.

Posted by: Clyde Shelton at November 11, 2021 09:44 AM (Do5/p)

393 I started noticing when debating lefties decades ago they'd simply evade engaging. I'd present a scenario in which they'd have to make a choice, usually backing them into a contradictory corner

This carries through into real world examples with the policies their politicians are pushing. For example you want to restrict fossil fuel usage - so you know that will raise costs that will be especially difficult for people with a lower income right?

The answer you'll get from a lefty now is generally "no it won't". They know that's not true. They know you know that they don't believe it is true. And yet they'll make the argument and call you a racist if you disagree with them.

405 This is an unpopular opinion, but I'm sick to death of the un-American BS.

Service doesn't come with a government check. Stop conflating our Founders and Revolutionary War soldiers with the soldiers of today.

Founders - Fought to defend his property on his own soil against a foreign enemy.

Today's Military - Fights against a foreign enemy who's trying to defend his own property on his own soil.

Posted by: insurgens ad opus at November 11, 2021 11:53 AM (cC5to)

406 We fought a bloody revolution against our own countrymen. The Founders all considered themselves to be "loyal British subjects" right up to the point where we started shooting each other. They fought against the most powerful standing army in the world.

The Founders feared and loathed standing armies and that's what our military is today. They are the ones who will follow orders when the time comes. And when they drag you naked from your bed at 3 am, I hope to God your children thank them for their service.

My Lord, we have been steeped in 5 generations of a cultural lie to the point where anti-Americanism is considered patriotism, and anyone who challenges that thinking is automatically labeled a "Commie".

Citizen-soldiers, not career mercenaries. That's the Founders vision.

408 Lots to think about, but remember the left works through government because that is where the money is. The left points to the symptoms of societal dysfunction stemming from the breakdown of the family in accusing America of being the cause of them. The win/win is educational vouchers to enable the black church to address the needs of the underclass which also defunds the left. Political control over the budget and legislation will come from expanding the conservative coalition and shifting the balance of the electorate.

410 Agree with H8 that this is the moment to change the status quo. We have recognized this is a class war and I believe the black church is MAGA's natural ally. Partner successfully with them in reaching out to the underclass and it is game over.
