The Morning Report - 11/8/21

bidenscottfartwind.jpg

Good morning, kids. Start of a new week and fresh off of evidently soiling the carpeting in the Sistine Chapel, Joe Biden laid down a fart so loud and wet that it would have choked out Mongo after piercing his ear drums.

He is supposed to be committed to reducing emissions -- but when [so-called quote-unquote "president"] Joe Biden produced a little natural gas of his own at the COP26 summit, it was audible enough to make the Duchess of Cornwall blush.

An informed source has told The Mail on Sunday that Camilla was taken aback to hear Biden break wind as they made polite small talk at the global climate change gathering in Glasgow last week.

'It was long and loud and impossible to ignore,' the source said. 'Camilla hasn't stopped talking about it.'

Long and loud and impossible to ignore. Yeah, that encapsulates Biden's 50 years of afflicting himself on us. It would be hilarious were it not for the fact that this dementia patient, whose dementia is making his trademark vindictiveness and cruelty that much more pronounced, has been forced upon us by the Klain/Kalorama Klown Kabal after stealing a national election. But, once again, we can lament what the Democrats have done to us all we want but were it not for the fecklessness and really collusion of the Republican Party in aiding and abetting the slowly-then-all-at-once destruction of the nation and our society, it never could have happened. They enabled this and even after the supposed rejection to this vis a vis Virginia and elsewhere, what has the GOP learned? Evidently to defecate and break wind louder, wetter and smellier than Biden, Nadler and Swalwell combined, directly into the nostrils of the voters who came out on Tuesday.

As the Republicans rode high following Tuesday's drubbing of Democrats in off-year elections across the country, Democrats were fumbling, fuming, and determined to double-down on their America-destroying crazy.

Joe I am the Democratic Party Biden's already failing presidency was in free fall as the narrative built that the Democrats can't lead, can't govern, can't even herd the commie cats in their own party.

Things, in other words, were looking good for Republicans. But for some reason that I have never been able to fathom, Republicans love to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory. They never learn. Indeed, 13 House Republicans inexplicably decided to throw Biden and Democrats a lifeline. We should note, of course, that 197 House Republicans were not in on the save Biden and Pelosi plan . . .

. . . With the groveling assist of 13 House Republicans, the narrative has now shifted from Democrats and Biden on the ropes to victory for the competent, deal-maker in chief who gets things done . . .

. . . The only missing usual suspect is Liz Let's find a country to bomb Cheney, but she is hoping to be reelected next year. Maybe this was a bridge to nowhere too far even for her. Nineteen Senate Republicans voted for this pork-filled travesty of an "infrastructure" bill in August.

Speaking of projectile colitis, i.e. the Senate Republicans, I give you Rick Scott:

Senator Rick Scott (R-FL), the chairman of the National Republican Senatorial Committee, said Sunday on NBC's "Meet the Press" that he will help Sen. Lisa Murkowski's (R-AK) reelection efforts, even though former President Donald Trump endorsed a challenger against her.

In June, Trump announced that he would be endorsing Murkowski challenger Alaska Commissioner of Administration Kelly Tshibaka.

Scott said, "I think you'd be foolish not to want and accept Donald Trump's endorsement, but you're going to win not because somebody endorses you, but because you win because you're making sure inflation gets stopped, that people get a job, making sure your kids aren't indoctrinated on Critical Race Theory. Those are the issues people care about."

Before I absolutely throw an embolus and my head explodes, let me recite the Serenity Prayer and try to ask this baldheaded stooge a question: since you yourself declared that it would be "foolish not to want and accept Donald Trump's endorsement" - your words, not mine - then why are you not putting the full weight of the NRSC behind Kelly Tshibaka? Taking it back a step, why do you think, then, the man whom you declared "you'd be foolish not to want and accept" an endorsement from wants to primary Lisa Murkowski in the first place?

Since she and the crooked machine up Yukon way made their move to destroy Joe Miller for the crime of unseating her from daddy's throne back in 2010, Lisa Murkowski, the Alaskan snow-blower, has made her bones by lining her pockets and screwing over the American people at every turn by consistently voting with Democrats against any legislation reducing the power of government, or judges and other political nominees that were even on the surface conservative. Her personal hatred of Donald Trump was just the icing on the cake. She is part and parcel of the destruction of this nation every bit as much as any Democrat in the Senate.

So with that, my Alaskan readers, I will state outright here and now:

If Rick Scott and the NRSC torpedo Kelly Tshibaka to save Murkowski's filthy hide, VOTE FOR THE DEMOCRAT.

It will make zero difference in the near term. Maybe it will make a difference in the long run, Dao-Min Yen notwithstanding, of course.

Meanwhile, there's all this talk about Joe Manchin's disaffection with the Democrats and calls for him to switch parties. I ask, do you really think that he's going to be a Jefferson Smith and not a Jeff Flake should he pull that trigger? I strongly doubt it. The one thing he can do right now that might erase his years of stoogery and pretense at being "moderate" for whatever that word might mean these days is to use John McCain's moldering thumb and point it south, where the rest of him is residing and vote NO on these monstrous bills. Of course, that's no guarantee that Lisa Murkowski won't vote YES.

There is no doubt that within the thousands of pages of these bills - that the REPUBLICAN PARTY has now greased the skids to enable passage - there has got to be billions if not tens of billions of dollars allocated to put fully erect boys in skirts with boners into girls bathrooms, while at the same time fill their minds with Jive Kampf and other poisonous filth that has given us two to three generations of citizens gleefully and willingly eager to turn what's left of the nation as founded into a mass grave.

Forgetting the candidates for a moment, what happened last Tuesday should have been a wake up call for the GOP because the culture war isn't a winning thing; it's the only thing. What they did last Saturday in the House was their response. I suggest we act accordingly going forward.

5 Happy Monday, one and all. I'm showing up early for the first few days of this week to make up for lost hours when I go to the doctor's for a checkup. The time change is as unpleasant as usual and one of my dogs barked her head off at me for being late with dinner. Tummy clocks do not obey time changes.

Yeah, whatever. They do learn. They do what they do on purpose. It's called "playing for the same team." 37 Yeah, no to Manchin switching parties. He is a Dem from a fairly conservative state, and as such he plays a different game. He will sometimes block something disastrously unpopular at home, usually only until he gets enough lard smeared onto it to placate the home territory, He learned Robert Byrd's lesson well, and he plays the same game. If he were to switch parties, it will make no difference. He will be kingmaker and load up on pork. He might do it just for that reason. Not nearly as much stuff is named for Manchin as for Byrd.

Amazon in this area ( Michigan) is building 6 huge fulfillment centers. Their delivery trucks work 7 days a week. I think Amazon must have scooped up the majority of truck drivers.

so did 19 Republican Senators, last August. Although the 13 house members shouldn't have helped Pelosi in a moment of crisis, that particular bill has been a done deal since last August. Nancy could have passed it any time she wanted just by calling a vote; the only reason she didn't was because the Progs in her caucus had this insane idea that they could force the Senate to pass the 3.5 trillion BBB bill by holding the Infrastructure Bill hostage.

all those plans have collapsed, and although they will play with it for a few more months, the BBB bill is dead.

This strikes me as a bit like Carter using his daughter's emotional appeals to guide policy (at least in terms of interviews and photo ops). The supply chain *is* complicated. Gigantically so. Some of the current problems are simpler than the whole. But The people who manage supply chains don't usually recruit architects and executives from the local bartender's union. lesson for any future conservative administration to remember: for Big Plans and big changes, an administration has got to have the political will and power to ram them through within 6 months of taking office. Otherwise all the plans fall apart in the pressure of the next approaching election.

143 137 I'm a bit surprised that most people still don't realize that the 5th Circuit has already done this. Expect a Flaming Skull post from Ace late today or early tomorrow announcing that the 5th Circuit has made it permanent.

And I believe SCOTUS will decline to intervene, and allow the question to play out before the 5th Circuit. (although they may accept and combine it with their EPA case, since both involve the scope of Agency Power)

BTW, Sundance over at CTH (in a post on Saturday) had an excellent insight into Modern Facism in the West: the internal dynamics have flipped from the original incarnation -- where now Governments are controlled by Corporations ("Corporatism"). The example he focuses on is the WEF (World Economic Forum) and he notes "One brutally obvious example: Big Pharma telling governments to promote the vaccine, and figure out the control details later..."

The contractor mandate cannot be constitutional while the private isn't. These people also aren't exactly honest or consistent. There's another problem with the contractor mandate, which is that it appears to be a clear violation of the Administrative Procedures Act. If it is allowed to stand, there is nothing they can't do while shielding themselves with "legality." After pulling the thread to figure out where it all came from. the Biden EO references only "COVID measures." It doesn't say what they are, and farms that out to a "task force" and them final sign-off is given to OMB. That's insane.

The EO enforces rules that didn't exist at the time of drafting, farmed it out to another EO-based organization (the task force was created by a prior EO) and it is all approved and enforced once it is signed off on by the *budget* office. It's Kafkaesque and has to be illegal (not that law matters as such).

185 The contractor mandate is also structured to aid with timing, and I suspect that lawsuits were a factor in that decision. The way the mandate is written, all employees at all contractors must be "fully vaccinated" by December 8th or else be terminated. The use the CDC definition of "fully vaccinated" as meaning "two weeks after final dose."

For Pfizer, there's a three-week wait between doses. For Moderna, it's two weeks. So that means you must receive the second dose no later than November 24th. For Moderna, that means the first does must be taken no later than November 10th (that's the day after tomorrow). For the Pfizer, you had to have gotten the first shot on the 3rd - that's last week - and it's already too late to start. People who didn't want it but took it under duress to keep their jobs have already started.

Certainly possible. This was not my experience yesterday, but I didn't go to a proper mall (just a couple of stores). Some of it is induced by the stores. I have seen some major retailers (Wal-Mart among them) advertising their "Black Friday" deals starting this week.

I certainly don't agree with what these Reps did, but I do understand it to a certain extent. For all this time, the GOP was fighting the bigger BBB bill, and telling all who would hear that the 'bipartisan' BIF was better, and would do as advertised. If you don't lay the groundwork to inform the public what is really in the bill, you can't expect wobbly Republicans to torpedo the bill with no public predicate for doing so. The time to poke holes in the bipartisan bill was September, not last Thursday. McCarthy and McConnell should have been on this, but to their thinking, 'a deal is a deal'. If McCarthy didn't want this thing to pass, he could have told his caucus. He didn't. Do you think Pelosi would let this slide?

On the other side, Manchin was part of the 'bipartisan' deal. The GOP was thinking that if they reneged on him with the BIF, they might lose him on BBB. Stupid thinking, but probably makes sense to the lizard brains in GOP leadership.

It was my hope that there would be enough Freshman Republicans to stall the McCarthy train once they gained the majority.

Just kill the nomination on the first ballot. Democrats most likely won't come to McCarthy's aid because they'll see "Republican Civil War" and want it to play out as long as possible. The Freshmen Republicans don't need an alternative in the beginning, just enough voting any other way. The idea that they have to have a chosen second choice before hand has always been wrong.

Interesting. One Suburban mom told Youngkin that if he brought in Trump that she couldn't support him.
Trump said he wasn't going to announce whether he was going to run until after the 2022 midterms, but that we would be happy.
Forget about the cheating which we all know happened. Trump has also got to realize that he made mistakes, tweeted stupid things that ended up giving the news cycle the opportunity to focus on his tweet du jour. He picked petty fights within his own part unnecessarily which caused people to just be turned off. He doesn't need to rehash the election when he announces after the midterms he's running. He needs to be able to make changes. There are days when I wish that Trump wouldn't run and DeSantis would, but that's not going to happen. Do Freshman Republicans want McCarthy gone or not? Well, they're not going to have the time to organize around anyone between the election and the vote for Speaker? Probably not, especially with McCarthy's minions shoring up his own support.

You need to knock him out, and if he can't get a majority of the House on the first ballot, then he's done. Let the horsetrading begin. Yes, Republicans don't want the distraction, which will be incentive to figure it out quickly, and everyone will know that McCarthy won't be acceptable.

Trump got at least 75 million legal votes in 2020, far more than any sitting president in history. And poll after poll shows that he is still wildly popular in the Republican party and routinely beats all potential challengers, including DeSantis, by as much as 30 points.

I like DeSantis but I've seen no proof of his popularity outside of Florida and many people will have to learn who he is. I think Buttigeig understands enough to be dangerous. He's a former McKinsey consultant, so I have no doubt he thinks he can tinker with it.

However, I am more worried that he doesn't want to fix it, that he is intentionally breaking it to usher in The Great Reset's upcoming 2030 and 2050 agenda milestones. Pete is an WEF Young Global Leader who is all-in with their agenda. Further, he is a red diaper baby -- his Commie dad founded the International Garmesci Society (and was a renowned Gramesci expert), and his favorite book was the Communist Manifesto. And now his son is managing the "fix" of the global capitalist sypply chain. As with all these wreckers, I suspect Pete assumes he can do a controlled demolition, but he will instead bring everything down completely.

I just called the lender to find out the payoff amount for my Buick, wrote out a check, and dropped it in the mailbox. Maybe I'll get to say, "There's one more thing: I got the pink slip, Daddy" before T'giving. I skipped my Sept. payment because of my hurricane evac, but I was so far ahead it didn't matter, and wound up with 25 double payments instead of 48. I guess I could total up and see how much interest I've saved. The important thing is that the Buick, which is 6 years old at 55K miles, looks and feels new, is still a joy to drive, and will soon be mine!!!

The land in Southern Louisiana has been sinking for 100 million years, seriously. That's why the Mississippi flows there. (water is gravity's dog, it follows it everywhere) In the natural system, the land sank about an inch a year, but the flooding of the Mississippi every spring added at least an inch of mud each year, so it was in balance. The flood control structures built in the first half of the 20th century changed all that.

Stopping the yearly flooding of South Louisiana seemed like a good idea, but it condemned the entire region to death. It wants to be part of the Ocean, and it will be.

Youngkin did not talk about Trump, he talked about issues that Virginians cared about.

The topic of Trump is the new abortion: the Democrats will always bring up abortion in order to make a GOP candidate appear extreme, and to peel away any moderates or wobbly Democrats. Not saying Trump is completely irrelevant, just that when Democrats and the MSM drag him into the discussion they are doing so to change the subject from a losing issue.

I believe the way those laws are written that govern those programs, they would have to go to congress to get that inserted.

Just as with the mandate or the ATF, agencies can make rules without congress approval but only within strict circumstances written into law.

Most of those programs are very well written to keep out any bias to receive the benefit. Strictly rules concerning their finances and/or employment status.

And we all know he won and the election was rigged. And now the country is doing far worse in every single area than it was under Trump and there is huge Biden buyer's remorse with most of his supporters saying they don't want him to even run in 2024.

Doctrinal arguments are flatly illegal. They constitute a religious test. In private industry, that's illegal under the Civil Rights Act, IIRC. In government enterprise, it is both a violation of the Establishment Clause *and* the Act. For a contractor, which is a private enterprise working for the government, both would likely apply.

One of my war game scenarios in how this turns out includes a phase where the Fed Gov collapses followed by some restoration of the individual sovereign States.

The FedGov is a dead end. It is filled from top to bottom with hard core communists dedicated to the destruction of human liberty and end of Western Civilization.

400 And I'm not from South Jersey but the more conservative voters should be mad at Jeff Van Drew.
=====================

My bet (no actual knowledge) is he was bribed with some money for some South Jersey project. I know the bill has money to build a third tunnel to NYC, like that will ever really happen in this NIMBY age !!, so I wouldn't be surprised if the North Jersey politicians threw something like I-295 improvements, or Atlantic City Expressway expansion or some such bones his way.

403 And you could probably sell it for twice what you paid. Of course you would have to get another ride. But if you've got an extra selling might be a good option as used cars of any shape are in demand.

The Buick is my only car, and there is nothing out there that I'd want to replace it with. Certainly not in today's inflated prices, "You want this car or don't ya?" environment. I enjoyed driving my '15 BMW 3 Series for the 4 months I had it, but I don't fancy returning to that marque and suddenly being hit with "You need a new ignition coil. It's gotta come from Germany. We expect four months to get it in." A '16 Buick should be easy to keep up. Some of the parts were shared with their Chevy and Cadillac stablemates.

Te only maintenance the big red car needs soon is an oil change: $26 for oil from WM, $8-9 for a filter at O'Reilly's, and $20 labor at my mechanic; done for 6 months.

406 I don't understand how they measure average global ocean depth to the nearest 10th of a mm. It sounds like the global average temperature scam where the number they arrive at is more precise than the precision of the method of measuring.
Posted by: Cat Ass Trophy at November 08, 2021 09:27 AM (0ryfU)
++++
They can't. It's like how they measure average ocean temperature to tiny fractions of a degree. They can't do it. They don't have the data resolution. There aren't enough sensors, they aren't calibrated well enough, too many are offline at any given time, the depths vary too much, etc. There is no way to get a confident figure at those levels of detail.

How they do it is take a reading - say a temperature buoy or depth reading apparatus - that shows high or low or whatever, and then integrate it into the dataset, assign unreasonable confidence levels, and extrapolate.

409 Van Drew signaled that he was going to vote for the "bipartisan" bill months ago. His argument was that the bipartisan bill was separate from the Build Back Better social infrastructure bill, and that they should be treated separately.

Maybe he should have flipped his position after VA, but for some of those GOP votes, their support was telegraphed for some time.

410 I can live with Trump/Pompeo 2024. Grenell is a great choice as well, but he's never run for elected office. Pompeo has, and he knows where the Deep State bodies are buried.

-------------

My dream is that Trump nominates a VP with the sole goal of cleaning out the bureaucracy. He runs on that and there is a so-called "mandate" to do so. And then said VP does that. That person would probably need to go in with no other political aspirations because he would create so many enemies that it would probably kill his career.

Again, that's just my dream.

Of course, if a VP had that kind of success, maybe the country would then reward him with 2 terms.

Again, just my dream.

Sea level is incorrect. The sea is not level. It has high spots and low spots because of gravity being weaker which makes the oceans rise in that area. Why do you hate science?

418 >>Disagree. Not fixable, short of moving a different state

Trump still has his residence in NY and that's where he ran from in 2016. No reason he couldn't move back.

I wouldn't be surprised if he wants someone from a different region of the country. Now that Florida has more registered Republicans than Democrats for the first time, a wildly popular governor and a sane and secure election system FL isn't really in play for Democrats.

421 Some how voting old folks don't realize that if we destroy the US among the first groups to fall to the loss of the functioning economy will be old people. Yet there are millions that have voted for these clowns. I know it surprises me also because I thought as you get older you get more conservative. But apparently that's not true for some groups

Posted by: jakee308 at November 08, 2021 09:17 AM

You would have thought that the elderly would have woken up to the evil that is the Democrat party when they saw the first people Democrat Governors killed in the Plandemic were the elderly in nursing homes. Not only did they kill the elderly in nursing homes, they denied them seeing their family and loved ones in their dying days.

Anyone who still supports Democrats after just that, there's just no helping them.
