Mrs. E saw about a dozen deer yesterday, 4 of which were bucks, two 7-points and two 8-points. None she wanted to shoot this early in the season. She also saw 4 pigs, when I asked her how big she said 'Two were the kind you shoot and drag to the gutpile, the other two were freezer meat.' She shot a bunch of pictures though.

About ten miles in we saw a cow moose trotting down the road. Big snow banks on either side of the road (it was late April). She was gigantic. I am from Wyoming. Moose are big critters. But Alaska moose are crazy huge. If we had hit her, she would have landed on the roof of the truck and killed us. Fortunately we were driving slowly, and she leapt over a snowbank. I don't get why they don't go to the deer crossing signs to get across the road. Posted by: f'd at November 12, 2021 08:49 PM (Tnijr) The local bay area news just did a bit saying some study showed that more wildlife died on a stretch of 280 (that cuts through the hills, duh) than anywhere else in the state. Then they say X amount of black bears died, and X amount of mountain lions died. Uh, maybe, but not on that stretch of 280. There's no bears, and mountain lions while around are still pretty rare in the stretch from San Mateo/Woodside to Cupertino. But there's no shortage of deer. And even more fucking raccoons, skunks and opossums. So yeah, lots of wildlife, much that won't be missed a bit. So what do they want to do? Build fucking animal crossing overpasses. Seriously, are these people that fucking stupid? Yes, yes they are. I'm so glad that CA has solved all of its other problems, and we can concentrate on the important shit. Like overpasses for skunks. I wonder if this is another NAC/Aspirin/Zinc kills thing. Boraxo is less toxic than salt per the MSDS, it just tastes horrible. though Calcium Fructo-Borate is what most people take Posted by: Kindltot at November 12, 2021 10:00 PM (P9T5R) 204
Suing the govt in tort for some policy misstep requires the govt to waive sovereign immunity. There is some statutory provision for this depending on the level of govt but usually long shot.
