Who ya gonna believe?

First of all, believe me.

Let's start with critical legal theory, which is what critical race theory grew out of.

Critical legal theory is the theory that there are no "innocent" rules in law, no "neutral" laws. All rules, all laws, have winners and losers, and are chosen for cynical reasons.

Rules are chosen to favor one group or another -- and the group which is always favored by the law are the wealthy, the powerful.

Because the law is dressed up as something neutral and objective and just and wise and good, and society propagandizes it as such (for society is controlled by the wealthy and the powerful who selects the laws), the people are blind to the fact that rules and laws are in fact chosen to favor one group over another.

Critical legal theory seeks to make what is invisible -- the cynical nature of imposing laws and rules and protecting power and privilege (we'll come back to that in a minute) for those who already have it -- and provides a "toolbox" of "critical lenses" and deconstructive techniques for doing so.

One idea put forth by the critical theorists is that property is, well, theft, and that the very idea of owing property is a conspiracy of the descendants of robbers who stole the land centuries ago against the descendants of virtuous non-robbers who didn't steal land or had land stolen from them.

All of our assumptions about the legal order must be "challenged."

Sound familiar?

And what is critical race theory? Well critical race theory is the same thing except 1, it hypothesizes that rules and laws are not selected to protect the wealthy and powerful but the white (and, per the intersectional branch of critical theory, the male and straight), and 2, it expands the critique into not just law but all "systems" of society, into everything.

The reason I say this is to point this out: Whenever someone says that you have "privilege," that you should "check your privilege," or that you are "oblivious to your privilege," or that you are "punching down," they are employing the language of critical theory, and using the "toolbox" of critical theory, to deconstruct the oppressive systems of society, and to illuminate the "invisible chains" that oppress the oppressed classes.

THAT IS A CONCEPT DERIVED DIRECTLY FROM CRITICAL RACE THEORY. THAT IS CRITICAL RACE THEORY IN ACTION.

Whenever a teacher tells your kid that he is privileged due to his skin color (or sex, or sexual preference, or able-bodiedness) that teacher IS doing Critical Race Theory. He is teaching your child Critical Race Theory. He is indoctrinating your child in Critical Race Theory concepts.

(Note again that Critical Race Theory would, by strict terminology, only apply to race, but the whole "intersectional" strain of critical race theory involves the "complex intersection" of differing but interrelating relationships of privilege and oppression -- straight-gay, white-nonwhite, male-female, cisgender-transgender, able-bodied-disabled, etc.)

It's that simple. The left keeps pretending that Critical Race Theory is only this "high-level academic concept" that only very educated people could possibly fathom.

Bullshit; it's simple-ass pile of stupid nonsense that idiots can master in days, which is why it's so fantastically popular among the stupid and academically ungifted.

The stupid do not go ga-ga for very difficult subjects like high-level math or physics. You do not start a cult for the weak-minded by making would-be cultists write out Honors Calculus proofs.

No, you attract the stupid and smoothbrained with soft, gauzy, easily-concepted bullshit with five or six main rules you can grasp in about an hour and a half, tops. Stuff that makes you feel like you've really learned the shit out of something when in fact you've really done the intellectual equivalent of reading the back of a cereal box.

The Sokal Squared hoax trio had to do some reading in the fields of Critical Grievance Studies to hoax multiple Grievance Journals into running hoax papers, but, get this, they only had to do a couple of weeks' work to become experts in the field capable of producing not only journal-worthy work but award-winning journal-worthy work.

Yeah they're bright people with academic training in other fields but if you can fake up an expert-level mastery of a field in a couple of weeks it's not a rigorous field, is it?

This is not a field with rigorous merit-based barriers to entry. This is a field that is intended to validate the egos of those who feel insecure and left-behind, not to challenge them with difficult subject matter that will only make them feel worse about their limited intellectual capacities.

And furthermore, there is part of a field the academics call praxis, the practice of a theory, the implementation of a theory into action; in stupid critical theory terms, categorizing children into groups according to their "privilege" or "marginalization" is the praxis of critical theory. That is critical theory in action.

Academic papers exploring exciting new frontiers in the expanding horizons of marginalization and "decentering" are the theoretical part of critical race theory, but telling nine year olds that that their race makes them toxic is the praxis.

That's the Applied Critical Race Theory.

So right there, enough of the lies, when teachers tell kids to list the ways in which they are privileged, and which privileges they have because the privileged categories they fall into, that is an exercise in critical race theory deconstruction of power dynamics and illumination of invisible structures of oppression and privilege.

Ever read a Critical Race Theory academic paper? I have. All they are explorations into new ways of claiming this or that yields "privilege" and this or that creates a "marginalized" group.

Anyone who says differently doesn't know what the hell he is talking about or is simply lying, and given that we are talking about the left exclusively making this stupid claim, it may very well be both and almost certainly is.

Now, via let us first take a look at the left lying robotically and remorselessly on this point, telling you to completely ignore what you have witnessed with your own eyes looking over junior's shoulder as his teacher taught him he was a White Oppressor:

On Tucker Carlson last night, his same teacher pointed out that there are two elements of teaching: curricula -- what is taught -- and pedagogy -- how it is taught.

The game teachers are playing is saying "there is no CRT in the curricula," which is true(ish) -- kinda -- but what they're not telling you is that they are explicitly embracing CRT in the pedagogy -- how they teach everything. Critical race theory is the lens through which they teach everything, including math.

Jesse Watters (subbing for Tucker) asked, "Surely not math?"

This teacher said, "Oh yes, definitely math -- 'ethnomathematics,' a mathematics based on a student's individual cultural beliefs and traditions, is all the rage among CRT acolytes."

One important point this guy makes, which I myself should certainly remind myself of: Not all teachers are on the left. Many of them hate this bullshit-- and will even talk to you honestly about what is going on the schools. I suppose some might be reserved because of possible professional consequences, but others might be more willing to let the truth fly.

The point of Critical Theory is that the systems of justice themselves are corrupt in their very existence in that they exist solely for the purpose of maintaining the power of white people. But it's not just the justice system that was created to maintain the power of white people, but ALL Western systems and ideas - the education system, marriage, the Church, the family, policing, logic, fair play, the Enlightenment, the language, sports, Boy Scouts, holidays, entertainment, everything. The purpose of Critical Theory isn't to fix these thing but to destroy them.

So when the NFL goes Woke and goes Broke, or Disney or the Boy Scouts do the same thing that's a win for CRT - part of our oppressive culture has been destroyed. Star Wars was created to perpetuate inequity so if it's ruined then good!

The Portuguese were the first, they needed bodies to work their new holdings in Brazil, and the natives were all dying from the diseases they brought over (especially smallpox) They already had trading colonies in Africa so it was an easy move for them.

Very quickly the Spaniards saw what they were up to and said "hey that's a pretty good idea!" Both of them started this early in the 1500's, long before Jamestown or Plymouth were even founded.

That's been going on a year or two. Charter scholl my kids were in stared SEL and on the surface it sounded OK, just ant0bullying nonsense and how to get along with other kids or something. I finally looked into it and the material they reference and used was all pulled from liberal NGO deeply immersed with CRT.

Don't assume the charters schools aren't woke. They can be just as bad or worse than public schools and not as subject to state guidelines

The teacher sent home the disciplinary notice with a description of the incident and a check mark in the box describing what "rule" she violated. She told her friend that was being picked on not to be a "crybaby" because they wouldn't stop picking on her.

It's been out there for all to see - in books, college classes, school board meetings, teacher's union announcements - all over the place. Conservative authors have been writing about this at least since the '80s. Heck, CS Lewis wrote about it in 1943! Here's the thing: historically, there are lots of cases where laws have been passed to protect the economic and political predominance of whites over other racial groups. And noting that those laws existed is not, in and of itself, CRT.

But if you're going to talk about those things, if you're a responsible historian, you have to also note that they occurred not because racism is ingrained in whites since the dawn of time, but because of particular circumstances at that time which, with just a little bit of imagination, could easily have gone the other way.

If you really want to stop bond measures, read through their full text and point out to other people how much of the bond money is going to green energy programs, new laptops for every student (that don't ever improve their test scores), new admin assistants for the principal, etc, and how little money actually is going to building repair or whatever else the marquee budget item is supposed to be.

No, they don't "teach it" at all. In that respect, they are not lying. There are no courses in K-12 (and relatively few in the undergraduate postsecondary) curricula that teach about Critical Theory, CRT, etc.

What they do, however, is teach classes and use materials that are designed and supported by people who understand and believe and seek to perpetuate CRT and use it as their scaffolding for all development. CRT isn't a subject in primary and secondary education, but it used as a system and framework for teaching *all* subjects and it underpins all activities.

Viruses do not easily jump from species to species, as the article implicates in a silly way. But if the virus can infect human beings, then sometimes similar mammals can pick up the viruses.

I am also not sure how they determined deer are carrying Covid 19. The PCR test? That's not very reliable in terms of a diagnostic.

Two of my sisters have been teaching for almost 30 years each. They HATE common core. And they hate being told by their principals that they cannot assign homework because not every kid may have a parent at home (because a student could be from a single parent home, and that parent might have to work two jobs, thus, not be able to help). And this is happening in a rural district, in a flyover state. One that was known for leading the country in education.

Viruses do not easily jump from species to species, as the article implicates in a silly way. But if the virus can infect human beings, then sometimes similar mammals can pick up the viruses.
I am also not sure how they determined deer are carrying Covid 19. The PCR test? That's not very reliable in terms of a diagnostic.

This will hopefully backfire. Until the '70s most Hispanics in American considered themselves white. It was only race-conscious groups and magazines that used the word "Latino" prior to that. Progressives saw an opportunity to create one more oppressed group to divide Americans over. Then in the '70s the US gov put "Hispanic" on the census form.

It only makes sense that most US Latinos look white because they're descended from the Spanish oppressors who did all they could to enslave or eliminate the native population. This fact always leaves me scratching my head. How did a majority European population come to be associated with the oppressed group that they, themselves, oppressed?

FBI agents do as they are told, and they are probably fed the idea that the people involved in their raids are enemies of the FBI and the country in general - but how long before certain agents start realizing they are being used - that their activities aren't actually preserving a society of law and order against criminals and just breaking down doors for the sheer delight of Clinton cronies?

I am no Hannity, there seems to be a whole lot of corruption that has infiltrated the FBI/DOJ top ranks - but eventually, some folks who joined to preserve a lawful society are going to realize they are being used by a cabal that has other ideas.

I do agree that CRT is widely taught, and it's stupid and toxic.

Just strangely, I live in a corner of the world where most of us have no use for CRT even though we are very ethnically diverse.

I'm sure some of my colleagues deploy it in one form or another, I've never gotten any pressure to teach it, other than mild peer pressure -- which I easily ignore -- from my subject matter colleagues at other schools across the country, with whom I interact solely on the internet.

The Spanish Racial Caste system for the colonies was the European born who came out to fill leadership roles and Colonial Government and church roles, Europeans born in the new world (called Criollos) who could not hold high positions in government, though had a high social and economic status, Mestizos, who were mixed blood and could be tradesmen and peasants, and the native Indian population that in most colonies until the reforms in the late 1700's technically were free of taxes outside of labor and yearly goods and money requirements.

Simon Bolivar went to Spain to get a wife because as one of the richest offsprings of one of the richest families in Nuevo Grenada, he had t maintain his political position (she later died of yellow fever) and Mexico early threw the policy off though the native and mestizo classes were far larger and had greater influence.

Portuguese and French colonies had very different structure.

Yes, but its roots are in literary criticism from deconstructionism, Frankfort school was also from the pan-Germanic volkish background, looking for a basis for uniting groups or controlling them through modifying the concepts society used.

They don't intend it this way but this is precisely how the left has wielded the law in the Trump era, including the soft touch of the Summer of St. George and then turning on a dime to claim political prisoners from Rittenhouse, Chauvin, 1/6 etc. They just can't conceive of the fact that they have all of the institutional power, so critical theory as initially constituted (whites are all powerful and exempt from laws) obscures (to them) that they're doing precisely what they're accusing everyone else of doing.
