The Morning Report - 11/2/21

forthebidmcaul.jpg

Good morning, kids. One year ago today. One. Friggin'. Year. And look where we are. I still grieve, and I will grieve until I draw my last breath, for what the Left did. It still boggles the mind to see how everything we believed was diamond-encrusted granite wrapped in a 100-foot thick solid iridium shell crumbled and vaporized right in front of our eyes. It was an illusion, while at the same time the reality of who and what did this was in our faces for decades. The blame lies equally with those who failed to do their duty to stop this as it does with the perpetrators. Not just in the time period between November 3rd and January 6th - the corruption was wide, deep and omnipresent by then - but in the years leading up to that day. It's heartening (and terrifying) that parents at last are reacting to what is being done to their children's minds and bodies. But that should have been the case long ago. Joe McCarthy tried to warn us but our forebears abandoned and shunned him - just as those that came after did to Trump and his allies, and especially we the people who still cherish a seemingly dead We The People.

In hindsight, it appears more and more that President Trump's greatest accomplishment, beyond everything he achieved virtually singlehandedly that puts him in the pantheon of the greatest presidents, has been to expose the rot and corruption that had so thoroughly eviscerated the foundations of the republic and exposed for all to see the fact that our government was some sort of perverse fascistic oligarchy. I don't think he even knew the extent of "the swamp" which ultimately consumed him, and us. He, too, could never imagine that the guardrails and firewalls that were supposed to protect us from self-destruction were just not there and in fact had been gone well before even he arrived on the scene. Or that even the most partisan of operatives would not dare cross the line and give in to the will to power, which is exactly what scores of them did on both sides of the aisle, the bureaucracy, the courts and of course the media. If that was his greatest failing, so too was it ours.

But, no more illusions. And right now, I'm all cried out. But my anger has not only not diminished but has been stoked on a daily and sometimes hourly basis since last year. And so, that brings us to an election day with the main event being the Virginia gubernatorial race, with several others here and there including the race of mayor here in NYC.

Given everything we have learned about how 2020 was first rigged with mail-in voting, early voting, same-day registration, ballot harvesting and the gutting of even the barest of fig leafs of integrity laws, and then witnessed on that horrendous night and morning after of the mass ballot dumps when all of the former seemingly were not going to produce the intended outcome of a Biden "victory," should you still go out and vote and will you go out and vote?

That is entirely up to you to decide. I'm not going to make a value judgement on either those who don't or those who do. For sure, wherever Dems control the electoral processes, either whole or in part, some level of fraud on their behalf will occur. Therefore, it certainly seems that NYC is not going to see a Curtis Sliwa victory. Adams is being pimped as "moderate" which even in his most moderate incarnation he's still at best a flaming liberal, if not a Marxist, and that's bad enough. The only reason DeBolshevik won twice was because the GOP candidates were horrendous, and worse, the overall turnout was ridiculously low which allowed that lanky hunk of anal cancer to slither into Gracie Mansion. In a way, it's too bad the Maoists didn't steal the primary (as they tried to do with that insane "ranked choice voting") since that might have been enough of an incentive to go for Sliwa. Or not.

"Comrade de Blasio," real name Warren Wilhelm, took over as New York City's mayor after five successive and successful terms with a Republican at the helm, two with Rudy Giuliani and three with Mike Bloomberg (who paid convinced the city council to let him run for a rare third term).

When de Blasio took over as mayor of NYC, it was like inheriting the 2009 championship Yankees. Eight years later, he is leaving the city looking more like the Detroit Tigers. Almost 200,000 people signed a petition to have him impeached. Nothing came of it because communists never quit. We might as well change the name of New York City to "Moscow on the Hudson. . . "

. . . The problem with New Yorkers is that they never learn. Better to be a woke lefty than a "racist right-winger." Progressive mayoral Democrat candidate Eric Adams is likely to easily become New York City's next mayor tomorrow. You get what you vote for, and New Yorkers are likely to vote for more murder and more mandates.

As I said, the Left controls the elections and you would have needed a 100% turnout of registered GOPers to even come close. And between mass immigration of illegal aliens, mass indoctrination of children of already braindead liberal parents and mass migration of normal people to Florida and elsewhere, NYC is more than likely a lost cause. And speaking of mass migration out of town, as of next summer, it will be in my rearview mirror as I finally leave for greener, and hopefully politically redder (party politics, not communist) pastures.

But of course all eyes are on Virginia.

Political analysts say that Democrats are more likely to cast early ballots, which could explain why the 2021 numbers favor Democrats. However, voter turnout is going to be the deciding factor in Tuesday's election. As the Washington Post reports, "About a third of the early ballots cast have been in heavily Democratic and voter-rich Northern Virginia, which could benefit McAuliffe if that translates to a higher overall turnout in the region."

If the turnout in 2021 is the same 47.6 percent as in 2017, a total of 2.8 million ballots will be cast in the state, just 1.7 million more than have been cast to date. However, with increased access to voting and national attention on this race, voter turnout levels could reach the 59.5 percent they did in the 2018 midterm elections. If that is the case, then 3.5 million ballots will be cast, which is 2.4 million more than early ballots cast.

With the increasing enthusiasm and an education-focused election, these numbers could foreshadow good news on election day in Virginia for Youngkin. If most Democrats vote early and Youngkin wins the Republican vote and keeps his lead among independent voters, he would be in good shape in the election. However, if Democrats can continue their early voting patterns into election day, McAuliffe will likely be successful on Tuesday.

This of course is conventional wisdom and of course assumes that those who are counting the votes are not of the Joe Stalin, or "Joe Stolen," variety. And all things considered that should never be an assumption ever again. Not that the Left ever concedes defeat, even in a blowout. But if they do win this one, even by a vintage Ann-Margret red nether hair, they will not only claim this as a mandate but as a mandate to sic a weaponized Gestapo-like FBI/DoJ on parents and anyone who opposes the mind- and rape-raping of their children. Hell, if they lose, they'll still be pushing for that.

Psaki-psircling back to choosing to vote or not, again, you have to decide what this all means. For those who are in the camp to no longer participate in what may be rigged elections, you're going to have to figure out in both the short and long term what your options are going to be in terms of meeting the Leftist juggernaut face to face, as sooner or later we are all going to have to do. I'll not elucidate here for obvious reasons.

So, one year later, I'm all cried out. But my rage at what happened and the nonstop rapid-fire depredations will not be quenched and continue to be stoked. That fire is not going to be put out any time soon.

Yup. What a long strange trip it's been. How fragile it all is.

The present regime and its ruling class have consolidated their power. They consider dissent to be threats to "national security" and are looking to wipe out all actual or perceived remaining pockets of opposition. They despise not merely the founding but also the America of the frontier, of the King James Bible, of folkways and habits stretching back to the first years of the seventeenth century, and they treat those who cherish them as enemies.

Today, Boston will likely elect Michelle Wu as its new mayor to replace now Labor Sec. Maaaahty Walsh. Wu, an at-large City Council member, is essentially a member of the Squad with her polotics. Yeah. I have less than no patience or respect for Mitt Romney. He is playing the stupidest possible game. If you're going to be in the opposition party - even nominally - then you can't turn tail and go cower in front of the Inner Party while double-dealing within the Outer Party or, even worse, directly to the rubes. He is worse than useless and has no value whatsoever.

If you want to play the game, you have to move as far as you can from the Inner Party without getting yourself whacked by some Clinton or Obama stooge. Marjorie Taylor-Greene and Ron DeSantis are examples of how to play the game properly. You could also go for "maverick" status. I'm not talking about McCain, I'm talking about the real one: Rand Paul.

I don't remember when it was...but an Ace commenter talked about getting the virus and using Quercetin

Quercetin works by making zinc enter the cells easier. But you still should supplement zinc by about 25mg per day. Synergistic effect is the term, I think.

As we get older our bodies just don't absorb zinc as readily as the young. When I got the 'rona I dissolved a few zinc tabs in water and sipped it all day for the next three days. It tastes horrible of course.

One of the 'tells' of zinc deficiency is loss of sense of smell and taste. Curious that also is a sign of having covid. Correlation or causation?

118 Election day voting is now almost 2 hours in here in VA. Polls close at 7 pm. We have had six weeks of early voting and the final tally on that was 1.16M votes.

Okay, I am going to break character a bit and suggest there is something positive in the numbers. The number of early votes in 2021 is 6x the number of votes in 2017. The number of early votes in vote rich Fairfax County? Only 4x the number of votes in 2017. Fairfax represents 14.5% of the early vote in 2021. Fairfax was 23% of the early vote in 2017.

Overall, Fairfax was 14.3% of the total vote in 2017. If the ratio of early/election day votes holds for 2021 then that bodes very well. But, again, this is a weird year.

I know, a lot of math early in the morning without a full cup of coffee. Vote early, vote often.

Seriously? You own the property and have title to it, but they won't accept it? I has a suspicion here, and I hope I'm wrong.

I suspect that they don't have the means to look up and verify the county-level land records. Almost no one has the actual deed to their property absent a lien of some kind. The staff are likely trained to check for obvious signs of forgery in a document that is already familiar - like a phone bill or a mortgage payment - but have no clue how to handle a property title.

Almost certainly not. The wholesalers are gonna take it in the shorts. This is the profit season for sales, and not only are they not going to be able to move the merchandise they bought, they'll have to warehouse it and sell it at a discount. The only thing that might save the retailers is inflation. They accidentally ended up with a hedge. The discounted price may still be higher than the original estimated average retail price and they might not go bankrupt...

Regarding the coup... note who at least pretended to side with Trump after his election and which of those people are still siding with him. The original list wasn't exactly short, but it is now.

An outsider somehow gamed their system and won. It sent the uniparty into a tizzy that they're still having. I think they're not just pushing their leftist agenda as fast as they can, they're also making sure there are no loose ends that would permit another Trump like figure to ever enter their arena again.

They'll destroy the remaining bits and pieces of America doing so but that was always part of the plan. If we're still around in another year we'll look back on this November with a touch of nostalgia.

140 Seriously? You own the property and have title to it, but they won't accept it? I has a suspicion here, and I hope I'm wrong.

I suspect that they don't have the means to look up and verify the county-level land records. Almost no one has the actual deed to their property absent a lien of some kind. The staff are likely trained to check for obvious signs of forgery in a document that is already familiar - like a phone bill or a mortgage payment - but have no clue how to handle a property title.

It probably did stop. It has probably stopped and started several times. This is probably also true in Korea. Japan probably already has working weapons.

If any of our major former allies in the Far East have a link of sense - and you more or less have to assume that at least one of the three do - then they restarted their weapons programs no later than probably November 9th of last year. A week of cluster fuck over here and their new situation was impossible to misunderstand.

No one really wants nukes unless they truly need them. They are an exorbitant cost center and an untenable possession unless you really have no other choice. We left them with no other choice a year ago, and not all of them are so stupid that they didn't realize it.

For those who are in the camp to continue participating in rigged elections, while I do not disagree with voting, what exactly is the plan going forward to actually *win* the rigged elections?

"Vote harder". Okay, we did that in 2020. And we still lost, because the Deep State frauded/rigged harder. And not only did absolutely no one face any consequences for the fraud, rigging and stolen election, those who question it are the ones facing consequences.

So what exactly is the plan other than "vote even harder"? I don't disagree with the statement that we have to keep voting, but there must *also* be a plan in addition to that to eliminate the fraud. If people don't have a plan to eliminate the fraud, then going around scolding people for not wanting to participate in a rigged process is not going to go over well.

Yes he was. The popular elections (some of them, anyway) were stolen and the state Secretaries of State certified the frauds, but ultimately the final vote comes down to the electors and they either vote the way they want but traditionally follow the popular vote (some states) or are bound by state law to vote for the candidate certified by the SoS (other states). Those people, the electoral college, voted for Porridge Brain. Their vote is the one that counts, and they put him where he is.

He is a corrupt monster elevated by fraud to the highest office, but he is, as such, legitimate. The electoral college made him that way.

That seems unreasonable. The tenements in which they want to concentrate the rubes will average about 600 square feet. Little efficiency units at high density to hold their thralls.

Now, they're ruling class and so they will be better off. The ruling class always is. But whenever they talk about CEO pay, they usually land on schemes like "the CEO should only earn 5x more than the average salary" or sometimes 10x. They picked the standard, so that seems like a reasonable basis to me. They should be limited to apartments of 3,000 square feet to 6,000 square feet.

Sure, I don't think otherwise. The process was corrupt to its core and Biden is illegitimate by any standard. But the fact remains that the states sent their electors (fraudulently premised or not) and those electors voted and installed Biden. There will be no legal downstream consequences from that. He's illegitimate and everything he has done should be thrown out with extreme prejudice, but they will never ever do so. Even if they were to acknowledge election fraud, everything he has done will still stand because the EC voted that way.

I have an inkling of a hope that we get enough Freshmen Republicans who refuse to vote for McCarthy, throwing the leadership into disarray and needing to come to some kind of compromise candidate instead. It can only happen with Freshmen who haven't been inculcated with the idea that they need to have whipped for a replacement beforehand. They don't need that, they just need McCarthy to fail on the first ballot, then the horsetrading begins.

Of course, I had a similar hope when Boehner became Speaker, and look at how that worked out.

These people are tiresome. The "bloody patient zombie" is more or less a traditional Halloween costume. Hell, my brother went as one, back in the Before Times. He gave it some flair, though, and described himself as "an Ebola victim with a touch of Plague."

On a totally unrelated side note, she's pretty cute. It's a shame about the tats and that she is from Hollywood and therefore toxic.

I personally think it accomplishes nothing to stay home. Not every election is rigged. Covid allowed for a lot of voting fraud to happen which is why it's important to elect leaders that will restore voting to the way it was before Covid. I don't know how long VA has been having 6 week early voting, but that is insane and needs to change.

In salary. Sometimes in salary *and* bonus, but bonus is usually on top of that. But the real money is in the stock, and all those love fringe benefits like private planes (for the big guys). "I know, right?"
-- NGO/Foundation Founders and Executives

NGOs can get creative in compensation. For example, the WashPost did an expose on WWF years ago, and the then-CEO was selling himself property donated to the WFF on the cheap. On one luch Georgia property he built a huge vacation mansion for himself.

Another current day example is David Brock and his group of NGOs. He's partnered with a woman whose profession is matching big donors with worthy causes for donations. She steers the money to one or more of Brock's orgs and he gives her a commission (something like 10% of the $$ donated goes to her). Then --get this! -- when Brock moves money from one of his orgs to another, the commission is paid out again. It's a total scam where Brock and this gal skim off a significant amount of donation funds on commissions (and share it somehow, forget how).

CEO pay is fine to complain about, but NGOs are where the real compensation funny business has been flouring for years.

Yes, "vote harder" is a nice cynical phrase for those who can't be dicked to get up out of their corner and stop sucking their woobiee and spend the 10-15 minutes it takes to vote. That's all most people contribute anyway. If you want to do more fine, if you don't fine.

Look at it this way, the whiners who want everything perfect before they'll deign to vote, would be saying after Pearl Harbor. "Golly, those Japanese beat the shit out of us. Welp, we better just take our lumps cuz we just can't win. They just proved that."

Even if he was a DeSantis clone, rules and regulations are only as good as those willing to enforce them.

We have not been losing elections to fraud and rigging for decades due to the lack of rules, laws and regulations. We have been losing elections, because no one is willing to enforce those rules, laws and regulations. Same with illegal immigration. Politicians have been pulling this bullshit since at least 2006, claiming we need "immigration reform" (i.e. more laws). No we don't. We need *enforcement* of the laws already on the books.

Same goes for elections. 2020 was stolen, because laws, regulations and rules were brazenly broken across the country. With zero consequences. So passing new ones means nothing.

I rail against the GOPe, but it would take a supreme act of restraint to prevent me from pulling the lever for them when push comes to shove, considering the alternative.

That said, staying home is a valid strategy, in my opinion. If there is still, at this stage of POOTUS, a 40% floor of support for this guy, then we need things to get worse for that number to go down to 20%. A 'Let It Burn' strategy is the easiest way for that to happen. It just might take a few years, and we may not have that kind of time.

I am all for this only because it is in line with the Left's insistence that gender is a construct and single-sex privileges are bad. Erase gender everywhere, not just where it's advantageous to the activists. Alinsky #4.

If China takes Taiwan, the only rational choice would be bombardment to destroy their semiconductor manufacturing capacity. It will hurt and hurt bad, but better to scuttle it than let the CCP get it.

So that is not what we'll do. If anything, we'll send an airborne division and a bunch of scientists and industrial process people to hold the facilities until they can be smoothly turned over to Red China.

Your book arrived yesterday and I almost got through the 30+ pages of Foreword and Intro without my BP hitting the roof. Almost.

Kidding, of course. But I really am looking forward to reading it, especially as the format makes it easy to pick up and read an entry or two when one has a few minutes. There are so many things that you write about each day that are lost to memory because of the newest outrage, which sadly seems to occur each and every day.

Thanks for putting this together for us. Wishing you much success as you've certainly earned it!

279 Virtually all of the polls in the 2020 election predicted a Biden win, some comically so. A poll of Wisconsin days before the election had Biden winning the state by 17 points. He "won" by less than 1 point.

In retrospect it appears the polls were being used to build expectations of a Biden win despite what we could all see.

I'm not seeing any of that now. Just about every poll has Youngkin ahead and surging and most of the Democrat pols and talking heads are already making excuses for why McAuliffe will lose. If they are planning to cheat they are taking a completely different tactic this time.

But, there are times in life when you just have to do your fucking job regardless of outcome. And your job as it is with most people in elections is vote.

Make them expend capitol. Make them realize in a quantifiable manner that there is a large majority(/0 of voters who do not want to go down the communist/racial animosity path. Cuz if you stay home because it just too hard on your delicate constitution to spend a few minutes voting. Well, then why should they listen to anything you want, you're weak and no one supports what you want.

And honestly, this shouldn't have to be said, but this can't be a one and done thing. Sure, Voting proves our strength, but we must use whatever win we can eke out to build on a better system. Again as in WWII,we took one hard fought island after another, Sometimes we won, sometimes we lost. But, doing our fucking job the best way we could was the only way to win.

Really, this constant whining and unconditional surrender is just sad.

Do your job. Go vote.

I once heard a businessman say "It can take months to gain a new customer, and seconds to lose one."

This is why cruelty, misery, destruction, evil, and death have been the norm throughout most of human history: it can take decades, even centuries, to build great civilizations -- but merely months, even days, to destroy them.

Oddly enough, I woke up with the song "The Impossible Dream (The Quest)" from Man of La Mancha playing in my head this morning; strange, as I've only heard it a couple times since learning and singing it in the 4th grade chorus ... and it has never had more relevance in my life.

Today, November 2nd is All Souls Day, sometimes called the Day of the Dead. On this day, and during the month of November, the Church prays in a special way for the souls of the faithful departed, and individuals pray especially for those whom they have known and loved. The Holy Souls in purgatory died in the mercy of God, thus they are called "holy." However, because they still had attachment to sin at the time of their death, they must undergo the spiritual purification of their souls before they are able to fully love God with their whole heart, mind, and soul for all eternity.

Incorrect.

Their panic ballot box stuffing was last second and desperate. They only had ballots that cast votes for Biden sent to a handful of places that would allow for such shenanigans. They couldn't send those ballots to precincts they didn't control, which limited the damage to a handful of places that couldn't affect more than the races being decided at those precincts. That limited the damage on House races greatly, and the panicky nature of their ballots (leaving everything blank except president), limited the damage at the Senate level. Not to say there was no cheating at the House and Senate levels, but it was far more limited than the presidential level.

I would do this for two reasons that are more pertinent to me as a Trump supporter than anything else (and I really don't care what other people think):

1. The Republican Party needs to pay a price for their duplicity and complicity in helping the Democrats steal the 2020 presidential election. I want a "red wave" of political blood to flow from G.O.P. defeats. And I plan for the first time in my 30 years of loyal voting, to actively campaign AGAINST the morally corrupt, totally useless and paid-for Republican Party in the 2022 midterms. I will NEVER forget 2020 and more crucially NEVER forgive for that utter betrayal. WHAT IS THE POINT OF VOTING REPUBLICAN, THAT BUNCH OF LOBBY MONEY WHORES AND D.C. SQUISHES? THERE IS NO POINT! If President Trump runs in 2024, I'll vote for him but outside my support for that great man, the Republican Party is dead to me.

2. Voting now is a joke.

322 We have not been losing elections to fraud and rigging for decades due to the lack of rules, laws and regulations. We have been losing elections, because no one is willing to enforce those rules, laws and regulations.
---
That's when I knew the Republican state legislatures were not going to do anything, when they started asking what laws they needed to pass to prevent this.
They just robbed the bank and these fat turds were, "yes, I know there are laws against theft. But don't we need a law against theft from banks?"
And the Dems know this-- not one Republican, not one judge dares throw out the results from a single black precinct. Ever. Even if it's 100% for the D and 130% turnout.

Nope. I am asking for the plan for eliminating fraud and rigging and stealing of elections. Voting is only one part of the process. We found out in 2020 that voting in massive numbers is not enough. So there must now be a plan to sabotage the left's fraud operation, so that voting in massive numbers will be enough to win.

I have yet to see anyone present that plan. Is it that we need more people volunteering at voting places? Do we need operations like Project Veritas to expose all the cheating and fraud in places? I don't know. What I do know from 2020 is that just voting is not enough. We need to vote *and* do something to ensure our votes matter.

350 Rabbi Weissman's essay about how the Torah bars governments from forcibly confining people to their homes (because of the "pandemic") goes on to express outrage at the closing of synagogues for the same reason. It really expresses how bereft I've felt at the similar abandonment by the Catholic Church of everything they claimed to believe.

When this all started, I naively expressed my belief that God would never permit disease to spread through Holy Communion. I'm a Catholic convert, and part of what made me convert was all the stories of heroism through the ages, and the unshakeable faith that God would never desert His people. I was stunned when cradle Catholics outright *mocked* me for saying this. I was basically told that these were children's fairy tales, and Catholics have ALWAYS known that there was no special protection from the Holy Ghost, and what was the matter with me? I should grow up and accept the science, like everyone else did. Now I "no longer identify" as a Catholic, because I feel I was pretty much lied into this organization, which talks big but never really meant what it said.

357 Tonypete:

I somehow got on St. Patrick's Cathedral's email list and this is the prayer they sent for today:

"For this is the will of my Father, that everyone who sees the Son and believes in him may have eternal life,
and I shall raise him on the last day." - John 6:40

Here's why this is so odd: True story, I grew up in Manhattan, but St. Pat's was not my parish. I worked in midtown as did my mother and we decided to stop for a quick bite and a wee nip after work and then go to St. Pat's for confession. We stood in line and Mom went in ahead of me. She looked to be in shock as she came out and as I went past her to go myself in I said to her, "That was quick." So I go in and start with the usual "Bless me, Father..." and the priest interrupts me and asks where I live. I told him and he promptly kicked me out and told me to go to confession in my own damn parish!

LOL The guy must have been having a Joe Biden moment. But it's still fun telling people that I was thrown out of confession at St. Patrick's Cathedral.

387 Wait...Juan Williams is an intellectual? Who knew?

We need to look at voting as a tool rather than a means to an end. If that tool can cause the State to further discredit itself by fraud and cheating, by all means vote. The only reason Youngkin might overcome the margin of fraud is because he is a Bush-type cuck. In other words, he would be allowed to win because he doesn't represent a threat to the totalitarians. Still, it is hard to imagine a Clinton stooge not cheating.

In short, I'm with you, JJ, and pass no judgment on those who choose to vote. But the reason to do so is to create chaos. We will never be allowed to effect policy at the ballot box.

388 You reap what you sow. New York deserves all the wonderful 'blessings' that diversity brings. Maybe Youngkin wins in Virginia but White people are waking up to the fact that no one represents them and voting G.rand O.le P.inworm is a solution to nothing. Your heroes Reagan and Trump, one did the first amnesty and the other's signature non-tax achievement is letting criminal brown people out of jail. Working class White people were/are appalled by both these stabs-in-the-back. Their continued loyalty is nothing of the kind, just least worst of two awful choices.

392 "Reynolds, who has long opposed vaccine and mask mandates, said that 'no Iowan should be forced to lose their job or livelihood over the [Chinese] COVID-19 vaccine.'"
Iowa Gov. Kim Reynolds Signs Bill to Give Those Fired for Vaccine Refusal Unemployment Benefits

I guess this is good, but it would be better that she signs a bill that says no one can be fired from their job for refusing a "vaccine" mandate. Living on unemployment benefits is still losing your livelihood, as the benefits are nowhere near the same amount as the salary from the job. I know that from two years of unemployment in 2009-2010, where I had to make the choice between paying my bills and paying my mortgage. I eventually made the choice to pay all my bills on time and let my house go into foreclosure. Lost my house, but it destroyed my credit rating the least.

And if there is nothing to prevent companies from firing people for refusing the mandate, then there is also nothing to prevent companies from not *hiring* people for refusing the mandate. So this bill is not comforting at all and fixes nothing.

394 Democrats Are Using the Same 2020 Election Shenanigans To Overtake Virginia This Year

Like many organizations that present themselves as more interested in voting than election outcomes, Vote Forward is part of the Left's Voting Machine: A massive web of interconnected GOTV nonprofits commanding tens of millions of dollars, mostly gifted by ultra-wealthy institutions like the Ford, Gates, and Rockefeller Foundations.

This is exactly what I am talking about regarding having a plan. This is what the left does. They do not just rely on voting. They have a massive operation that is extremely well-funded for both GOTV efforts and voter fraud efforts. Do the right or conservative Republicans have anything even close to anything like this in place? Doubtful, since there are no ultra-wealthy institutions which are conservative. But maybe there are some I don't know about?

Posted by: Clyde Shelton at November 02, 2021 09:47 AM (Do5/p)

395 You've got a good point, Clyde. It feels good to connect online with like minded people, but there also needs to be coordinated action if things are going to change. Especially here in California, its going to be the labors of Hercules.

396 As a Virginian I'm deeply conflicted about this race. I hate the Republican party more than I hate the Democrats. The latter are who they are, and are who they've always been. The former is the friend who betrayed me in the worst possible way, over and over again. I wouldn't piss in a republican's face if his teeth were on fire.

If I thought for a minute that the GOP would "get it" that they would understand that my write-in vote is a vote against their betrayal, a willingness to let them die even if it means Gov McAwful, I'd feel better. But my protest vote is going to be offset by throngs of angry Karens who are voting in reaction to a situation THEY CREATED.

The VA gop (and national party) does not deserve my vote. I don't know what I'm going to do yet.

Posted by: SMFH at November 02, 2021 09:54 AM (u/7wY)

397 I understand your position, SMFH. The ultimate core of this irredeemable political party we've spent the better part of our lives supporting is that 99% of the elected and so called Republican "Conservatives" are just there to collect a paycheck. They aren't committed in the least way to advancing the conservative agenda. But they will give it lip service all the livelong day when primary and election time come around. So the way it is - not the way I see it - is we are done for either way, so why not take that bunch of Judases to Hell with us.
Oh and before anyone goes after me, answer this one simple question: What do you really think a McCarthy-McConnell majority in the House and Senate will accomplish? You're an absolute fool is you think they will do ANYTHING other than make excuses for why they can't do what they promised or have endless and meaningless "hearings" with nobody who matters EVER going to jail.

Posted by: SMFH at November 02, 2021 09:54 AM

This is another good point. Just voting for Republicans to defeat Democrats is only the first step. There then needs to be a plan to hold the newly elected Republican accountable for enacting policies we want. It's not enough to just play defense against a Democrat in office, but we also need to play offense to demand the Republican we put into office enacts the policies we want.

Again, that's where a plan comes into place. A plan for organization, action, activity, etc. Voting alone is no longer enough. We all now have to become activists, whether we like it or not.

Posted by: Clyde Shelton at November 02, 2021 10:26 AM (Do5/p)

399 Nice thoughts but no. The Republicans are NOT ideologues and they really don't care what happens as long as they get a large chunk of pork spending to buy their votes so they can pocket a large bit and put a roadside outhouse along a state road that supposedly cost 3 million dollars to build. That's what we get from Republicans for all our votes and soft dollar donations. And they don't care about millions of illegals flooding over our borders because BIG BUSINESS pays them to look the other way. TRUTH!!

400 @ Tracy M...

That's the difference for me this time. I used to think the GOP was just frightened of being called mean names in the media. But I've watched too much failure theater from the likes of McConnell and McCarthy to believe that any more. They sell us out intentionally. They knew the Tea Party movement that should have been a boon to the GOP was ultimately a threat. Because it wanted things they didnt want to deliver. Enough. I've been sold out enough. Youngkin isn't going to throw trannies out of the ladies room. He isn't going to pull CRT out of classrooms. Even if he does either, Garland will sue in federal court and get an injunction, etc.

I'm done. Let it burn.

Posted by: SMFH at November 02, 2021 10:36 AM (u/7wY)

401 Agree 100% SMFH.

The G.O.P. Internationally worked to co-opt and then wreck the Tea Party movement, even stealing primary elections from their own voters! [see Thad Cochran-Chris McDaniel 2014 Senate primary]. Despite their honeyed words, they hated the Tea Party.
They never embraced MAGA and joined the likes of the Democrats and CNN in disparaging the people constituting the hundreds of thousands of patriotic Americans showing up for Trump rallies and waving American flags and standing at attention for our national anthem.
They could have embraced that energy and adopted it's goals and stood next to their fellow citizens but NO, the big businesses and big donors and grifter consulting class and D.C. media didn't want that, so instead they sought to destroy the movement, one formed by their OWN VOTERS, THEIR OWN CONSTITUENCY!!!
The G.O.P. can rot!!!

403 Voting third party does feel like a better protest than not voting.

Posted by: TheJamesMadison, OCP were the good guys at November 02, 2021 08:18 AM

Third party voting in 2016 is what helped Donald Trump win three key states: WI, MI and PA

In Michigan, 2000-2012, average third party voting was ~71k votes. In 2016, it was ~251k. Trump won the state by 10,700 votes. Hillary's 2016 vote total was 300k votes less than Obama's 2012 total. Trump was +160k more than Romney's 2012 total.

So if we infer from that that Democrats in 2016 went third party as a protest vote, we can thank those Democrats for helping us elect Donald Trump.

Posted by: Clyde Shelton at November 02, 2021 12:15 PM (Do5/p)

404 People are overthinking this. Go out and vote. You don't have to pay to do it, and it's easy.

What's the down side? Even in a crooked election? Wasting an hour or so of your precious time you were going to use to watch TV? If nobody on our side votes, the chance of victory is zero.

When Trump went up against Hillary, some people were saying she had it in the bag. Why bother? But where I come from, voting is a thing you do. Period. My wife and I went to the polls, voted for Trump, and came home as certain of a Hillary victory as we were about the sun coming up the next day. And whaddaya know?

There's an old story about the rabbi who kept praying to God to win the lottery. Day after day, week after week, and it never happened.

Finally, the rabbi looks up as a voice comes out of the clouds: "Oy, Rabbi, do me a favor and meet me half-way. Buy a ticket!"

Vote. Buy the ticket. You prove nothing and win nothing by staying home. Nobody will give you points for your brave stand, and your guy will be one vote less than he would have had otherwise. At least make the cheaters work for it.

What is happening now - all of it - is their fault.

407 I'm sorry Clyde Shelton but Trump winning in 2016 had nothing to do with 3rd party voting. Nice try though.

He won because he had a message and movement that resonated with the American people.
