The contrast of her awkward posture against the natural flow of sky and sand is interesting. The scene is not of huge significance but it is pleasant and a bit fun.

Interesting. Now, seriously, VA GOP should do vote integrity next. Anything else they get accomplished through legislation can and will get overturned the next time Democrats are in power. They went full Leroy Jenkins last time, and they'll do it again. Make it harder for them to cheat to power first and foremost.

But, VA GOP.

Heh. Indeed. I once needed an X-Ray and went to one of those X-Ray places. I refused to sign some document that would give them all power forever. The intake nurse was a total bitch and I was hostile. I never swore, never raised my voice, never acted physically threatening, I was just very not nice. After my X-Ray, I demanded the images on CD (which was part of the service, just had to request it). She was surly, but made it. As I was walking out she muttered to her buddy at the desk, "Well! He was rude!"

I walked back and said, "No, ma'am. I was not rude. I was hostile. There is a difference, and you should learn it." Her face was priceless.

Last Friday I tested positive for COVID. It was the worst illness I've ever experienced. I was hit pretty hard.
I was prescribed the "kitchen sink"
Monoclonal antibodies
Ivermectin
Azithromycin
along with NAD and a vitamin drip
I believe the monoclonal antibodies saved me.
My lungs were doing really bad.
I felt like I was one day away from the emergency room.
Within about 12 hours of receiving monoclonal antibodies and NAD I was better.

Went down to the local park which is in a valley with a nice bubbling creek with my newly minted bride (it was a long time ago). At night, no one around, we got down to business on the bank of the creek. After about 5 mins, the mosquitos, or no-see-ums or whatever were feasting and we absolutely couldn't continue despite our ardour. Unfortunately if something goes wrong one time with an artisanal marital conjoining activity, that particular activity is off the list. So even though we had several awesome outdoor marital activity sessions before that time, we've had none since then. I'm willing to try again, but it would have to be solo according to my bride, so, never again I suppose (sigh).

433 CNN election coverage was, as usual very good. Van Jones said straight up that if Dems keep telling rural voters they are useless Hicks the Dems have no future. He acknowledged that the we hate Trump message that worked in 2018 and 2020 is now dead and Republicans are - direct quote - nibbling at our cookie. By that he meant the black and Hispanic urban voters.

I always wonder why 364 days a year CNN is unwatchable but that one day in November they kick ass.

Was Kyle Rittenhouse authorized to be where he was when the first shooting happened?

Actually the testimony of the first witness (called by the prosecution) established that Kyle was told by the owner of the property to go there, to try to put out fires at that location. That testimony showed the prosecution's claim to the jury, that Kyle "just wandered there" of his own accord, was a lie. Moreover, since the prosecutor knew what his witness would say about the subject, it was a deliberate, vicious, and cynical lie, intended to destroy Kyle's life by misleading the jury.

I believe the child-related tax credits the Dems passed earlier this year and want to pass now don't help many children. The money goes to the parents. They can spend it however they wish. The Dems claim the child tax credits that went into effect in the summer "lifted 50 percent of children out of poverty." Oh, really? How much additional food, medicine, clothes and shoes, blankets, and books for children, on average, are parents buying with the extra money per child?

More Dem/Prog statistics games. They have no idea how many children have measurably-improved lives because of the child tax credit.

Suggestion: Buy the high proof stuff when possible. If it's too hot, add your own water. Distilled water is my personal choice.

Why?: Whiskey is dumped from the barrels at very high proof. Usually 125 or more. How do the distilleries lower the proof to 80 (the minimum for bourbon) or 90 or whatever?? They add water.

They're censors. The press and entertainment businesses forbid dissent. Social media and the rest of Big Tech crushes it. They pillory, humiliate, dox, ban and attack anyone who veers from their prescribed path. What does this do? It makes an intelligence vacuum. They refuse to let people who don't like them speak, and punish them if they try. As a result, they don't know *why* people don't like them and the stupider ones are surprised to learn that anyone doesn't like them.

490 433 CNN election coverage was, as usual very good.

Posted by: Joe XiDen - Lessko Brandon Brandon at November 03, 2021 09:42 AM (M2P6t)

They do this because this is the one day in the year that people outside their shrinking base is watching them. That said, they are still, in their own way, all Trump all the time. They are very quick to dismiss Trump's influence in both elections, even though he showed restraint in not trying to bigfoot either candidate (CNN doesn't give him that credit). They are also going all-in on denying that CRT is even an issue. The GOPe commenter challenged the narrative on Toni Morrison, as well as the fact that the Republican had black and Hispanic candidates take the other top spots in VA. Crickets from CNN.

I do think (to give McCain a very small amount of credit) McCain was legitimately concerned that Trump was letting terrorists run the world by not intervening everywhere. I think McCain's interventionist worldview was idiotic, but I do think he genuinely believed it. That's what led him to want to get rid of Trump. He viewed Trump as "dangerous."
You'd think a guy who fought in Vietnam would understand the futility of interventionism, but I would agree that McCain wasn't particularly bright.

577 More here about McCain: https://tinyurl.com/r8aastas

In another filing, David Kramer -- a former State Department official and McCain associate -- said in a Dec. 13, 2017, deposition that the dossier was given to him by author and former British spy Christopher Steele, which he then provided to multiple journalists at outlets including CNN, BuzzFeed and The Washington Post.

The report was also shared with State Department official Victoria Nuland, Obama National Security Council official Celeste Wallander and Rep. Adam Kinzinger, R-Ill.

In his deposition, Kramer said that McCain gave a copy of the dossier to then-FBI Director James Comey on Dec. 9. Kramer told investigators that it was the sense from Fusion GPS founder Glenn Simpson that "having Senator McCain provide it to the FBI would give it a little more oomph than it had had up until that point."

"I think they felt a senior Republican was better to be the recipient of this rather than a Democrat because if it were a Democrat, I think that the view was that it would have been dismissed as a political attack," he said.

I set my 90+ year old dad up with Mint earlier this year, I'll need to check that next time I visit. He was at the age where the mandatory Windows upgrades were just confusing to him and causing lots of problems. I turned off automatic updates so it only upgrades when I'm there to manually do it, but can't recall if I turned off backups or not.

I'm probably not general public. Last week I finished writing, installing and testing a script to provide Dropbox like functionality to my home directory on my Arch box so that anytime I make a change to any file in ~/Documents it is instantly mirrored to a separate hard drive.

Were (R)'s running unopposed - no (D) opponent.

But the school board? Two (D) incumbents who had a ton of money to spend and held their positions.

The left is picking their priorities closely, and if you have children in public schools you better be proactive in fighting the propaganda.

674 Side bar "Leo Sayers".

I grew up poor. How poor did I grow up? I grew up so poor that I bought music maybe once a year with my birthday money. The first (and only ) album I bought (usually I'd spring for a 45 single, and had good luck with those) was a Leo Sayer album. Wiped me out financially. I probably bought it for "You make me feel like Dancing". There was one song on the flip side that I liked. All of the rest of the album was pointless.

My younger sibs and I didn't have a lot of music to choose from, some 8-tracks my Dad got with the player...who was that white guy with the dark glasses and hair?.. and an LP album of classical music with "Flight of the Bumblebee" which we'd dance to, slow and ponderous and then frenetic during the bumble bee parts.

And I wasted my money on a Leo Sayers album.

Still salty, too.
