Netflix Fires Trans Activist Who Led Walkout
This person was not fired for the walkout, Netflix said.
They/Them were fired because they leaked highly confidential numbers about the viewership of the latest Dave Chappelle special. These are numbers Netflix almost never discloses, unless they want to brag.
The documents that Them is suspected of leaking were leaked to suggest that no one really likes Dave Chappelle so Netflix shouldn't be spending so much money on him.
Netflix workers planned the walkout to protest statements that its co-CEO Ted Sarandos made about Dave Chappelle’s recently released special, "The Closer." The company claims that it fired the employee in question because the company suspects that they leaked internal information. "We have let go of an employee for sharing confidential, commercially sensitive information outside the company," a Netflix representative told TechCrunch. "We understand this employee may have been motivated by disappointment and hurt with Netflix, but maintaining a culture of trust and transparency is core to our company."
Netflix spent $24.1 million on the "The Closer," slightly more than the $23.6 million it paid for Chappelle's 2019 special, "Sticks & Stones." By comparison, the streaming service spent $3.9 million for "Inside," Bo Burnham's recent hour-and-a-half special. The nine-episode "Squid Game," which delivered the best debut in Netflix history, cost $21.4 million. By Netflix's own measurement, "Sticks & Stones" had an "impact value" of $19.4 million, meaning it cost more than the value it generated, according to internal documents reviewed by Bloomberg. The company also evaluates its programs by "efficiency," which balances a show’s reach with its price-tag. On that scale, Chappelle's special scored 0.8 -- less than the break-even score of 1. By comparison, Burnham's "Inside" scored 2.8.Ethan Van Sciver did a great podcast about what happens when you hire SJW political extremists in your company. Here are some of the main points, with my own elaborations included. 1. Whatever your company used to be in the business of making, that is no longer your primary business. SJWs don't care about the widgets you're making. They take over your company and direct it to produce political extremist propaganda as its main product. Your company will only be permitted to produce widgets to the extent that widget-production helps fund your business' new primary mission of producing propaganda and repression. If your widget production interferes with the production of politically extremist propaganda, they will sabotage your widget output. 2. SJWs always seek to either curry favor with the human resources and diversity enforcement departments of a company, or, better yet, infest and take over the these departments of a company. Companies actually allow this because they put most of their diversity hires into human resources and diversity enforcement, thinking that's the way to appease SJWs, and that's where these largely-unskilled, largely mentally-ill incompetents can do the least harm. That's 100% wrong. If they were put in any other department -- any department charged with producing things of value-- their toxicity and dysfunction would cause the company to fire them for their malignance. They subtract value; they do not add to it. But these corporations keep assigning them to the very departments were toxicity and dysfunction are rewarded. And this, these toxic, dysfunctional people are allowed to rise and exert authority over the previously healthy and productive parts of the company. 3. SJW "employees" will ultimately invert the boss-employee relationship, making themselves the bosses who tell the on-paper CEO and president what they'll be doing now. They achieve this through socio-political blackmail and threats to destroy the company through a coordinated reputational damage operation. We see this all the time. The SJW extremists are increasingly brazen about asserting that they, not the CEO or president or shareholders, run Bartertown. Note that Netflix is actually covering up the name of this particular fired SJW. The name should be made known, so that other companies will know this particular person will attempt to harm your company unless Them's political demands are met. But no, Them will be protected so that they can go on to toxify the next company. And all of these weakling assholes will continue hiring these people and letting them effectively declare themselves the management of the company.

I am not sure about the order of operations on this assertion. In my experience, as near as I can tell, HR is the *first* organization to be subverted, and then it filters out from there. HR is the reservoir that gets poisoned and then it flows downstream from there, first through "diversity mandates" for hiring outside of their own group, and then through the installation of mid-line executives who are down with the struggle.
The woke folk don't seek to curry favor with HR, HR clears the road for them to swarm in and start doing what they do all while HR actively protects them.

Human Resources. That right there tells you the sort of attitude that is prevalent. You're not a person and altho Human is part of the name they don't care about humans. What they do care about is what they were taught after they found that their European Art History Major was worthless in their new major Business Admin. Or Social Welfare administration which is numbers. You and everyone in the company is a number. And the correct numbers must be present or the company is wrong and must be chastised and put back on track to rightness.
This is where the socialism starts. This is where the cancel culture and political correctness starts. In Human Resources.
I believe that removing those departments from all companies would increase productivity by a 100% overnight. Sure a few bad hair do ugly women would be out of a job but they can go work on an assembly line or at Walmart like everyone else does.

It predates modern wokism and goes back to the old-fashioned PC push. "The student picked up their pencil" became acceptable even though it is entirely *wrong* because it solved a problem of their own creation. The traditional construction if the sex of the student was not known would be "the student picked up his pencil." The disambiguated correct construction would be, "the student picked up his or her pencil."
But the former is ultra-bad because it's sexist. The latter is awkward and unpleasant. So the plural - their - was substituted. Now, of course, the latter is also ultra-bad because it asserts a gender binary and thus now they declare that the the plural "their" is in fact correct.

I believe that removing those departments from all companies would increase productivity by a 100% overnight. Sure a few bad hair do ugly women would be out of a job but they can go work on an assembly line or at Walmart like everyone else does.

Chappelle's whole last special was a "I had a trans friend who killed herself" apologia about how he's not really trans. I suspect that's right ultimately. As near as I can tell, Chappelle's beef isn't about trans people per se, it's about the encroachment on black people's absolute privilege to say what they want about any other tribe without any pushback. Over the last 20 years or so, blacks (as a demo) have gotten to lecture everyone on race while saying things about race and sex that no one else could get away with. Trans activists more or less insisted that Chapelle, a black man, be subjected to the same anti-speech rules as everyone else, and Chapelle cannot stand it. In his world view, he and his tribe at the top of the victim stack and cannot be displaced. His specials give the impression that his principle obsession is hating crackers.

That's it in a nutshell. Education is free as well. Also, they don't mind living 2-3 families in a house. There's fights going on all over right now because neighbors can't even park on their streets because of all the dead cars. San Jose has an ordinance making it illegal to park on your front lawn, but then says you can't water - so nobody has a front lawn. It's like the Appalachia's only instead of washers and dryers it's Hondas and Nissans.

For what is is worth I made a mistake of hiring a UVM grad years ago for an engineering position. If I was interested in having employees again I can assure you I would never make that mistake again. UVM has a relatively good reputation for health care fields, but for all other programs their reputation is sub-par.

It happens when multiple area codes serve the same geographic area. Larger areas - first big cities, then even more regions because of cell phone number demand - ran out of phone numbers. So they need a new area code to get more, and then there is no way to determine *which* "867-5309" you wanted to dial, because both of them are in the same territory and handled by the same exchanges. So the area code becomes a mandatory part of dialing so the phone equipment can determine which party you actually wanted to call.

Yup. For all of the three-digit specialty numbers (411, 911, the new 988, etc.), they must not overlap with an existing exchange. If they do, the existing exchange has to change its prefix or the area has to move to ten-digit dialing if they aren't using it already. Those three-digit services are priority services, and so number interpretation stops as soon as the third number is processed and then the call is routed.

They both seemed like they'd be annoying people to be around for any length of time. I still don't understand why their families didn't try to talk them out of taking the trip together. They already had a history of fighting, and the plan to spend months together on the road, crammed into a very tight space together 24/7 was just such an obvious invitation to disaster. That kind of forced, non-stop togetherness would be hard on a stable, emotionally mature couple -- which these two certainly weren't.

I was just noting that the FBI is an incompetent bunch of busy bodies who deserve every loss they can rack up cause they're dangerous to freedom and liberty.
