Clever cow. She turns the water off at the end, too.

Strung-out cat in a heroin den.

Prairie dog likes cheek rubs.

Capybaras at a pool party.

Bunny masseur.

Dog and friends.

Cat at his day job, which is teaching humans to load the toilet paper roll the correct way, with the underhanded roll. God bless you for your work, sir.

Cats love wool.

Boji update: He's getting a check-up at the vet. Here's some new (to me) footage of Boji on his daily commute.

So, you hid your cat-snacks in your nightstand drawer. Now they're all secure from your cat, right?

FALSE.

Good dog owner.

He knew everyone's schedule. If you were late getting home from work, he'd often be at the door waiting for you. 185 174 Hmmm, I wonder if all these container ships can just divert through the canal?

People discussing this on Twitter said most of those ships are size-optimized for the China to California route and won't fit through the canal. They'd have to go around South America to get to Florida.
Posted by: Ian S. at October 13, 2021 07:49 PM (y+iNp)

Real problem is that most of those cargoes are going to West Coast locations... so sending them to Florida or Texas you then have to transport them back again.

192 The container docks in Seattle and Tacoma ports continue to be empty, as they have been for months.
Never been like this since they started to use containers.

Why?
Longshoremen are not working, yet badly want to. Independent truckers would gladly move the containers, especially with performance bonuses.
Fuch Warren Buffet's train monopoly.
And I was told that the Chinese own 40% of US ports. My source is usually reliable, but I never checked this statement myself.

THERE IS NO ECONOMIC REASON FOR THE CONTAINER SHIP LOGJAM. The shippers, their customers, and the Ports are suffering economically.
So, it can only be gubbermint thuggery/Buffett monopoly at play.

And anyone going to Lumen Field to watch a Seahawks game, go to the 300 level on the concourse. That giant empty dock you are looking at when you see Elliott Bay is where a thousand or more containers were regularly stacked during the Trump Administration and passed through the port every couple of weeks.
Buffett is keeping his trains in Chicago. I read there were lines of empty cars for 25 miles or more a few months ago.

249 Oh, BTW the security camera system I bought is a killer price on Amazon right now, $214 for 2 cameras and base unit. The cheapest I've seen the cameras is $99, typically they're $140 each. I just bought another 2-cam set, I'll have a spare base unit or one I can use if I get more cameras (they max at 2).

Eufy (Anker) cam 2 system. The install/setup was beyond easy, like the demos always promise and never deliver. Whole thing done in maybe 3 minutes? Cameras say 365 day battery life (so let's cut in half) but can be hard wired or use solar panels (sold seperately). So far, I'm really happy. The one problem I had was notifications were taking 7-12 seconds (recording still immediate), but a soft reboot solved that. Great resolution, easy software, stupid simple set up and install - recommended. Nice to not have to pay a subscription, and not owned by goolag/amazon/apple.

This morning I got the "ding-dong" notification somebody was in driveway. So, I was still half in REM sleep, looked at the phone and there was some kid dancing in the driveway waiting for school bus. The one morning I get to sleep in...

251 Redwoods only grow in some areas of NorCal, on the coast. Going north to western Oregon and Washington, the species of tree fades out quickly, and Western Red Cedars, the cousins of Redwoods show up. Red cedars because they can take the heavier rains and colder temperatures the Redwoods cannot.

The reason the Revenue building in Salem is shaped the way it is, is because there was another tree from the same grove on the corner of Center and Summer, and due to complaints the Revenue building plans were changed to allow it to stay.
During construction it died, so they just extended the underground parking and didn't change the building plans

This. Had a Commanding Officer once who REALLY had his shit together, but the crew pretty much sucked, from the Junior Officers, to the Chiefs.

I hit the ship as an overly senior E-6 (yeah, my smart mouth)... got my division turned around (1/10 of the crew)... other E-6s had a clue...

And the Captain was then able to bypass the JO's and Chiefs, who were clueless. He actually cleared out all the three chiefs in my Division, when we suddenly realized we were going to war (Desert Storm).

You can't fix an entire organization unless you have the support of those who actually have to do the damn work. Trump never got that support.

There are many places around the Puget Sound (and Portland to a lesser degree) with hundreds of empty containers stacked in storage. They try to sell them, rent them, etc, but there are still stacks of them around.

And since the ships are stuck in the harbors, full of containers, it would make sense about the logjam in both directions.

I think his main function is, whenever people see "the NFL" doing all kinds of terrible shit, everyone says "the NFL sux," and then goes on rooting for their favorite team.

It would be like if Goodall was a rub and tug Asian chick, and an NFL owner was... an NFL owner, but instead of the nooz story being that the NFL owner was caught in a rub and tug shop, the big headlines were "Dirty Dirty whore caught giving rubs and tugs!"

311 The one trait Trump should have dropped was his penchant for delegating. Other than a couple of aids there wasn't anyone who did as they were told. Even his kids.

Politics ain't a business in the traditional sense. He never really got that until it was too late. He's admitted as much.

But the amount of treachery in the Trump White House has to be historical. A full accounting won't be written for decades.

312 Since Trump was surrounded by traitors, grifters, and saboteurs from day one he had small chance of actually turning the ship around

True, but he was far too slow learning on the job. He wasted 3 whole years, and only showed signs of waking up in the final months of his term. He should have realized the truth in the first year - we all did - but he kept clinging to hope that somehow things would work out. The Left had Trump all wrong; he wasn't an imperious, iron-fisted dictator. He's a soft, sentimental old Boomer who couldn't let go of the past.

People ask "What could he have done?" Maybe nothing, in which case there's no point re-electing him, as the same thing will happen all over again. What I would have done is take hostages (metaphorically speaking, of course), and threatened to ruin the family members of Deep State bad actors who were spoiling things. I've no reason to think Trump would ever do that, I don't see any reason for making him president again.

If he didn't, he's a fool. If he was powerless to keep someone like Barr from... eh, barring all efforts to prosecute the Deep State, then I'm not seeing how a do-over is gonna help.

I do not wish to impart any information to any governmental organization about my status, although I suppose that "not interested" can be assumed to mean "vax resister."

Bitter Clinger, good question. Brings to mind something I recently realized: I personally believe that conservatives and centrists are much better at being fair-minded than liberals and leftists. 'Fair-minded' is to say, they're good with the law being enforced and criminals being punished, regardless of the politics of the perp and/or victim.

There's an infamous episode of MASH where, I don't have tons of time to describe it, but Hawkeye is ridiculously mean and unfair to Frank Burns. Now sure, Frank is supposed to be the bad guy on that show, but IMHO it's obvious that even within the parameters of that show, this episode was outrageously unfair to Frank.

I personally would love to show it to everyone I know and find out where they stand: does Frank deserve it because the producers say Hawkeye is always the good guy? Or can they see that Frank was objectively abused? If you think the former, you're not fair-minded IMHO. If you think the latter, you tend more toward fair-minded-ness.

Hope this makes sense.
