Just last week Twitter was sending around a map purporting to show how those southern anti-vaxxers were having a huge surge in cases. The northeast was barely touched. I assumed if it showed anything, it was where Biden was sending the infected illegals.

My son, who has had perfect games at the trap and skeet ranges, knew immediately that this wasn't a gunshot. But he couldn't convince his assistant principal that this was not a danger. They brought in the police and locked the place down. I guess they wanted the practice or something.
And we wonder why our high schools are circling the drain...

We should call that "resistance" not true natural derived immunity. That last blood donor which went to the end of May, had about 20% of the population have N-antibodies, which is the true marker of natural immunity. It's probably higher now, after this last wave.
But that 80% thing is a thing. There is disagreement. Some hold it is immune cross-reactivity from previous exposure to various other coronaviruses (colds) that have pieces close enough to the current virus to trigger a response. They have evidence to back that up.
Others, such as Vanden Bossche disagree. Vanden Bossche had a long post about that. He holds that 80% resistance comes from regular innate immunity, and makes his argument for that.

No, not buying that. Laminated rock, like shale or slate, the laminations, at least some of them, would be accentuated by erosion, as some layers would be more resistant than others. Limestone can be be pretty black, as it often has high organic content. And that bluff on the far side is textbook limestone. The geological symbol for limestone looks like a block wall.
This stuff is physically resistant, since it sticks up out of the river bed gravel, but chemically soluble. Which fits limestone to a "T".

I have read that for decades the main thing taught in art school is that the purpose of art is to shock the middle class. Basically the equivalent of spraypainting naughty words on a church. The wealthy who pay big money for art reinforce this by paying big money for the "works" and the bonus for the "artists" is that it is easier to come up with something shocking than it is to learn actual art skills

Einstein's 1921 Nobel Prize was specifically for the photoelectric effect and generally for "services to theoretical physics". That latter can be read to include both special and general relativity, but they intentionally weasled it.
Relativity was still controversial even by 1921, and there were some "German influences" against him. Politics was heavily at play there.

Told my manager that if they don't grant the exemption they will be forced to fire me. I will not comprise my anti-infanticide position, especially under coercion.
He was generally sympathetic and helpful making sure I had a plan if it all goes south, since other defense contractors are heading in the same direction.
Told him consulting or retirement if it comes to that.
Pretty sure it is just sabre rattling to scare people, that the religious exemptions will be rubber stamped. Still pissed off though.

I wouldn't mind a ribbon printer, if the ribbons were cheap enough. At least those don't dry out and clog.
Laser printers nearly all do steganography these days. Meaning their serial number is encoded into tiny yellow microdots strewn across the pages they print.
You know what I'd really like? A modern version of the old HP Paintjet. Fit it with a robust print head, and ink tanks instead of cartridges, but keep the tractor feed. That was damned near foolproof.

You are exactly right about amazon search. It is almost useless. I assume it's messed up on purpose so customers are forced to see the products amazon wants them to see, not the ones the customer wants.

Privacy. Nearly all laser printers have built-in steganography, which causes them to effectively "watermark" their output with an almost-invisible pattern of dots that encodes their serial number. It was intended to foil counterfeiters, but it certainly could be used against anyone the State deems to be suspect.

My guess is only go for supplements if a doctor has prescribed them for a good reason. Not that I know anything about this. If people think a pill is working for them, so much the better. I would say eat a variety of foods and be done with it. Very easy to add vitamin C or any other vitamin to your diet.

I had broken and cracked ribs. Very painful, takes weeks to heal. And one must be very careful about how one moves.
I fell asleep early Monday morning about 5 or 5:30. Woke up around 7. Felt the need to get out of bed. Not to pee, just get out of bed, and did so. So easily.
I had fallen asleep praying for strength to do my job, as the Lord determines. I woke up with bones healed. A month of healing happened while I slept.

Thanks! As it happens, I just checked them, and their Sunridge store in Calgary has the G1220 tank-fed printer for about $262, and they show stock! I guess i do a road trip tomorrow.

Two years ago DH was in the ER with chest pain. Doc looked at the xray and told him she saw lung cancer. Gave him a copy of the xray to take to the oncologist. We went straight to the chapel and prayed before the Blessed Sacrament. Got an appointment with the oncologist two days later. He ordered a scan, but found no lung cancer. DH showed him the film of his chest. Nobody could explain it. But I expect I could.

Well, here's the thing. I just bought a car in St Augustine (the sometimes-derided VW EOS). I was really looking forward to a nice visit there to pick up the car, but not sure if I want to do long distance driving back. Bones are fine, but some other things will take a while. Well, maybe, or just have it delivered. I haven't visited the Castillo there since my father took me when I was about 7. I would like to visit again, in part because I am an overgrown little boy who likes forts and castles, and in memory of Old Papa.

Going deeper. Back in the '70s, when I accepted Christ and became a Christian (from a wholly un-churched background).. I surmised the following. TRADITION BOUND Catholics risked *not* being Christians, as they placed their faith in ritual, repetition, dogma and (small "S") saints, rather than in Jesus Christ, His Ressurection, Ascention and Glorification. I've since learned that FAITHFUL Catholics *are* Born Again Christians, and that all of the ceremonial trappings of Catholocism shroud them about like so much smoke from their censors. Point being though, that Spirit Filled Catholics might kinda confuse the post Lutherian Christians, but for realz.. they exist, and they are our Brothers and Sisters in Christ. EMBRACE!

I loved being Presbyterian. The old joke joke is if you got two Presbyterians togeter, you would get three views on salvation. For years the Pesbys ignored what there higher ups said,it was not a glich but part of the plan. Today, the PCUSA is ultra left. A lot of people got left out. They had a legit takeover,and that is not right.
I left the church recently and it was one of the most difficult things I have had to do. It was so obvious a blind man could have seen it. A bunch of rich white folk acting as if they were the wokest ever. To b honest,they are liars. They claim to be woke, but dont' live it. I don't want to bash other people but something about that really bothered me. The church is full of rich folk, but they now say they are uber woke. The church was warped, i know that because I was there.

they were supposed to be Calvinist. The hard left took over. What kiills me is not the Presbyterians that passed on, it is the ones that remain and go along with the bull shit. Just a another lefty take over , they get them all in the end. If you are in a red area, you don't see it. Most people are against the lefty BS. But they are outnumbered. Better than to be in those areas than not, for sure that is the case.
