Good morning, kids. Start of a new week and right off the bat I'm irked (ma-nish-ta-na, right?). After earning the admiration of so many people for, in the very real sense of the phrase, "speaking truth to power" Marine Lieutenant Colonel Stuart Scheller slapped us all in the face. Hard.

Scheller became a household name among conservatives this past August when he publicly criticized the Biden [junta's] botched withdrawal from Afghanistan while demanding accountability from senior leadership. Immediately after his post went viral, Scheller was fired after 17 years of service. Last week, a Marine Corps spokesperson confirmed that Scheller was placed in military jail as he waits for a preliminary hearing. . .
. . . Prior to his arrest, Scheller issued a lengthy post on Facebook in which he criticized various political and military figures, including former President Trump and Gen. Michael Flynn:

President Trump. I was told by everyone to kiss the ring because of your following and power. I refuse. While I respect your foreign policy positions, I hate how you divided the country. I don't need or want your help. You do not have the ability to pull US together. You may even win the next election. But your generation's time is running out. Tell your son to stop tweeting about me. Your whole family knows nothing about US or our sacrifices. I could never work with you. I'd rather sit in jail and be released with a dishonorable than make compromises in my beliefs.
. . . The following day, Scheller clarified that he did not mean to say that former President Trump divided the nation himself, only that he "is incapable of bringing us back together":

I've had such a strong reaction to my comments against President Trump I felt a follow up clarification was required. No, President Trump didn't divide the country. But President Trump, in my humble opinion, is incapable of bringing us back together. Did he expose the corruption in the DOJ, media, and other places...yes. Was he the right person to expose the corruption at that time... maybe. Is he honest, accountable, and full of integrity... no. Would I want to work for a leader like that... no. I want a leader that will bring US together. Someone who has the courage to defend our country when called. My sons deserve that type of leader running the country in the future. That type of person is the only leader who I want in my corner. I respect all opinions. I'm not asking you to agree with me, but to at least consider my perspective. Much love.
. . . Regardless of Scheller's views on former President Trump, Republicans and Trump supporters have continued to support him and call for his release.

Last week, some commenters were critical of Scheller's going outside the chain of command to protest the actions of his superior officers, all they way up to the alleged commander-in-chief, insofar as it violated his oath. While technically this is true, the situation is such that we have an illegitimate c-in-c installed by way of a stolen election who, along with the JCS and far too many flag and junior officers committed, at least in my opinion, acts of gross negligence that constitute high treason in the way we literally bugged out of Afghanistan. The move to sabotage our fighting readiness by turning the military into a social experiment and indoctrinating troops to hate the country and the citizenry that they are supposed to be defending is a hanging offense in and of itself, but I digress.

Seen in that light, Scheller coming forward and voicing his opinion was an act of a patriot. This on the other hand is something else entirely. Look, I am in absolute awe of Donald J. Trump for what he did, what he tried to do and how he exposed the corruption and rot that ultimately even if everyone in the GOP and the administration were in lockstep with him could not overcome, let alone all by himself. That doesn't mean I suffer from Trump Adoration Syndrome either. The man has his flaws, for sure. But to paraphrase a witness to Charles the First's execution just as the axe came down, "that so flawed a man should be so great a president."

Scheller writes in his first tweet before he got chucked in the brig:

"While I respect your foreign policy positions, I hate how you divided the country."

How the fuck did Trump divide the country? Galvanizing a majority of people who saw the dangers of a cabal of elites leading them to national disaster is not division. That's called leadership, sir. So, seeing that maybe he put his foot in his mouth, he tries to walk back the attack on Trump, and steps on a landmine.

Lt. Col. Scheller, are you that lacking in self-awareness to not see that the reason you are in the position you are in right now - the freaking brig! - is because the people who Trump tried to neutralize and remove from power, the ones who fucked up Afghanistan and put you and your comrades in high-heels while training to fight global warming and "white supremacists" instead of filthy communists and Islamikazes are the same ones that are your gaolers?! Trump for sure has his flaws, as does every human who has ever lived. But the last thing you can accuse him of is lacking in honesty, accountability and integrity. If he did indeed lacked all of those, none of the corruption you praise him for exposing would have ever come to light in the first place.

As to "uniting the country," the only way we are ever going to do that is to utterly defeat and destroy the Left. You cannot unite a country wherein one of two major political parties is the locus of a malignant campaign that has spent well over a century, with the help of enemies foreign and domestic, to subjugate the citizenry and eradicate the United States as founded. The only thing a leader at this point, be it Trump or whomever, is going to unite is whoever even has even a spark of Americanism to overcome the cancer that is this close to consuming us for good.

The very things that Scheller bitched about are the things that Trump did everything he could in his power to prevent. And yet Scheller attacks Trump? About the only mitigating reason I can think of for him to put these communiques out is because he has a figurative, and perhaps literal, gun to his head. Look, we can try to argue the merits of the Trump plan to withdraw from Afghanistan and what its consequences might have been, but it's academic. We'll never know what might have been but we sure as hell know what did happen and who brought it about.

I've wasted enough pixels on this guy but it just illustrates my frustration with getting behind people who you think have leadership potential in the cause only to have them stab you in the back. Donald Trump is far from perfect. But Donald Trump is a patriot, Lt. Col Scheller. I thought you were as well, and I admire what you did in standing up to the filthy traitors who sold us down the river and wasted our blood and treasure in that g-d forsaken shithole of Afghanistan. You, sir, are way out of line in attacking the one person who is about as close to blameless in this entire affair as you can get. Worse, it's a grave disservice to the rest of us trying to "unite the country." That is, the country that used to be known as the United States of America. That country has been all but subsumed by nefarious people and institutions that have had a hard-on to destroy it for generations.

You cannot unite what is in effect matter and anti-matter. You are either with us or with the terrorists, Lt. Col. Scheller.

30 Scheller's contradictory positions on Trump seem, to me, indicate someone under a lot of stress.

I would not say Trump divided the country.. but actions of the establishment in place who tried everything the deep state had in its bag of tricks to sabotage him, and his reactions certainly did. His piss poor appointments did not help, and I think disqualify him for the Presidency going forward. He was a disaster in this department.

Scheller's second statement is correct. Trump will never unite this country. I wish for him to just fade away, but I doubt his ego will let him. If he gets back into the Presidential race again in 2024, we lose. Period.

Since a lot of the build happened during the Covid op, the campus and town were largely empty.

I've tried some web searches for trustworthy information about vax side effects. I know of a few guys who have all had abdominal muscle discomfort recently. Almost like mild hernia symptoms. I suspect the vax. Would be nice to be able to have honest information available. Curious if that abdominal discomfort is a common side effect.

I don't read FB or teh twatterz so without reading what he said in context, I'm somewhat reluctant to comment on what appears to be a pretty stupid statement.

Scheller knew what he was doing, when he did it. He knew what could happen to him when he did it. If he thought that the CG he reported to and rest of the command would just turn a blind eye and let him resign without extracting their pound of flesh, he's either foolish or naive or both.

Scheller should understand that all men have their limits when it comes to honesty, accountability and integrity, and those limits are variable. Some men have fewer limitations on those characteristics than others, but all men have their limits. Pick your enemies wisely, Colonel.

That being said, Scheller's accusation and call for accountability over the surrender of Afghanistan and our abandonment of of US citizens and allies there has merit. How he made that statement doesn't reduce the magnitude or the severity of it.

There are some caveats to that statement. We are told that 80% of NYC is vaxxed, so without over very significant factors playing in, the 60% drop tells us that the unvaxxed dine out more or the original 80% vaxxed is an overstatement.

The other consideration, after looking closer to the statements made is that they are comparing a week BEFORE the mandate. Everyone knew the mandate was coming so I wonder how much increase there was in restaurant business due to people "getting in" before they would be excluded out. Sort of like gorging before a fast.

Without Perot, Clinton probably would have lost, but it's unclear because we don't know who the Perot voter's second choice was. Given his platform on trade, it is entirely possible that a fair number of his votes came from default Democrat union types. We don't know. I suspect that without Perot, Bush 41 would likely have gotten another term.

But there's another side to it, and it begs a question. How appealing would Perot have been if after "Read My Lips No New Taxes" Bush hadn't bailed out the banks at gigantic expense during the S&L crisis (never mind what that bailout meant down the road, especially in 1998, 2001/2002 and 2009-present).

I believe Perot pulled votes from both (R)'s and (D)'s but it was dependent on livelihood. I told my employees to vote their conscience, but Perot is the only candidate that seems to GAF about American manufacturing (our industry then, since kaput). My employees all claim that they did, even some hard-core (D)'s.

In the next decade and a half 5,000,000 American manufacturing jobs disappeared. Thousands of factories closed.

Took my second dose of Ivermectin today. As mentioned above, two weeks after my J&J shot, I start getting pains across my mid section. It would come and go and felt irritating like something was in there. Not stabbing pain but uncomfortable. Had ultra-sound that saw a suspicious mass on pancreas, sent back for CT and absolutely nothing in there, anywhere. Totally normal they said. Still had the same everything and it's months later and they have no idea. Took first round of Ivermectin Saturday. Sunday, the feeling greatly reduced. This morning, nothing at all. Took second dose of Ivermectin. Will see how it goes. Have no idea.

467 Ward Carroll had a decent video discussing Sheller. He shows the highlights of each Scheller video in order and provides some commentary. To me, the first video seemed rational, reasoned, and introspective. He clearly recognizes his actions, knows it is perhaps not the right way to convey them, but feels it is necessary to express his opinion. He's a man of conviction taking action.

The second video was shocking to me. Gone is the official sense of making an argument and he actually is off in the wilderness. He's coherent to his previous actions, but his arguments seem far more reactive than reasoned, and he is starting to show signs of playing a victim rather than being a leader. I get a sense of a psychotic break at some level.

Subsequent videos just go down hill. It is clearer that he has clearly shifted into a reality almost uniquely his own. He equally wants to be an independent martyr while obtaining support, but not for him you see. He's a lost soul now.

469 Regarding Scheller's comments, I think the reaction to them needs to be observed just as scrupulously as the comments themselves. It's becoming like the scene in Life of Brian... "Follow the shoe! The shoe is the way to life!" "No, no! Follow the gourd!..."

I, too, believe Trump to be polarizing -- but it's less about him than it is the *perception* of him. If you take the time to understand Trump's style of communication (the bravado, the hyperbole, etc) you can better understand his policy aims. But who bothers to do that, when he is painted as a fascistic loon by his legion of enemies in the media? No one will ever manage to connect the dots between tough talk on energy and $2 gas; between talking about "the biggest, most beautiful wall" and border security; between fist-bumping our military and China's inaction. On the flip side, we have St. Fauci, who is forever lauded as the hero, yet a single investigation into his career would land him in prison for his role in the Wuhan Flu and ruination of millions of lives.
So, I won't discount Scheller's disgust with impotent military brass because he said something critical of Trump.

That undermines military confidence in their leaders. Why do we want Soldiers having to decide which of their leaders' orders to follow?

Making the Soldiers risk life and freedom by giving them the choice of lawful or unlawful orders is a recipe for internal fighting in the military, generals consolidating power, purges of uncooperative Soldiers etc.

Both of them are wrong. Scheller is just an LTC...freaking dime a dozen...maybe commands 400-500 troops. He knew he was sacrificing his career. He had 4 years to retirement.

If he spoke out on principle, he would have quietly resigned his commission and left the service. I think he made a play for celebrity hoping the polarization would make him millions instead of military retirement. Worst decision he could make.

The cops in Melbourne are doing what they have to, possibly in the short term, to keep a paycheck coming to their family. And honestly, we don't cops deciding which laws they will enforce.

Eventually they might find something else but...where else can you retire at 50 and still just do shift work?

Don't ever trust a cop. Call them if you need them, but think they won't arrest you too.

Trump noticed that Mattis had the best PR Team more than anything else.

Scheller wanted to be seen as a uniting "non-partisan" type that called out corruption. Giving President Trump any credit makes that harder with all the TDS in circulation. But slamming President Trump just undermines his central point and base of support. It's an unforced error.

484 It's interesting that Scheller dissed on lots of politicians and officers, but no one cares about the rest of them--only the True President. That's because he's the only real Leader in the lot.

Scheller is doing a Goldilocks-act. But Actual President Trump isn't perfect. He's only better than all the rest. Combined.

Spot-on. I don't think the average person realizes that we lost the war regarding "climate change". Sure, the vast majority of people don't believe the bullshit and don't care about it as an issue when it comes to voting. But that doesn't matter. What matters is that every single person in a position of power and influence believes in it and is setting regulations and laws and policies based on it.

Take for instance my industry (automotive). I doubt many people realize that the auto companies' push of EVs is not due to market demand or profits, but solely due to federal government regulations and laws and fines set in place if automakers do not meet ridiculous targets for greenhouse gas emissions and fuel economy. 2025 is when the fines start. And they are company-destroying. So all product planning is set based not on market demand, but avoiding federal "climate change" fines.
