Back in the '80s, I got to go out on our Coast Guard's training ship Eagle to see an America's Cup race off Newport, RI. it was a much calmer day than your painting. . . . I still worry about the "testing requirements". Considering the PCR test does not work . . . and there are a ridiculous amount of cases of false positives. So depending on the post-"positive test result" protocol, I am just as worried about "COVID-19 testing" as forced "vaccination", depending on what is the post-test protocol. Forced 14-day quarantine? Forced doctor visit to get treatment? . . . Posted by: Tall Cool Gentleman in a Black Suit at October 15, 2021 * No idea. If I get a positive, I'll demand a re-test. This is one powerful painting. Ivan Aivazovsky has captured the drama and power of nature against man and his inventions. But it isn't complete defeat. Even if this ship founders there is still defiance by man shown in the spot of color of the pennant at the top of the mast. I don't know how big the painting is but it must be something to be seen in person.
I never heard of this artist but want to learn more. Looking at the Wiki page examples, he has an ability to capture the look of water and light combining in many different settings that is as good as any I have ever seen. Thanks, CBD, for this one. Willowing from the previous thread...
The left has wanted to destroy the single family home neighborhood for decades. They are now actively doing it on a mass scale. A few cities, like Minneapolis most notably passed laws banning SFH neighborhoods. A few weeks ago, CA did it on a state wide level. No more single family home neighborhoods are allowed anywhere in the state. Any plot of land currently zoned R1 (one home per lot) can now have up to 4 homes on it. And this isn't for future developments. This is for current plots as well. Meaning your neighbor can build 3 additional homes/apartments in his backyard and there's not a thing you or your city can do about it. And as we all know, the crazy shit in CA becomes mainstream in a decade. My highly ecumenical Ministry is open to believers in all faith traditions, but one belief we all share in common is that the COVID-19 vaccine is FORBIDDEN. Like spiders above the flame, we are but sinners in the hands of an angry G-d, and COVD-19 is a manifestation of His wrath. A cheap obviation like the vaccine will not fool the Lord, but will engender MOAR WRATH. And mandating believers to take it is an abomination against G-d and against man, who is made in His image. In short... I will go to my grave not heeding their unsound and politically motivated (and not "intellectually superior" advice - as they deem themselves to be). Nice, huh? At the time, I had authored significant new development projects for half a dozen clients. My footprint was all over those babies. Got a call 3 weeks later begging me to reconsider. Eff U.
********** Another moron mentioned the pareto principle, where 20% of the workforce do 80% of the work I think? Guess what happens when you fire the 20% that does the actual work leaving the 80% compliant vaccinated with their thumbs up their asses. Teen Vogue has introduced the latest way to refer to those icky people with boobs and stuff: "Non-prostate owners". I guess trannies *really* hate actual women.

Greetings:
Is religion really free if you have to explain it to some authority ??? Such seems to imply that someone else is in charge. On the other hand, if a man declares he is a woman, there can be no questioning ??? Posted by: 11B40 at October 15, 2021 10:18 AM (uuklp) 563

Willowed: Remember TFG being interviewed to say that if a tax cut yielded an increase it tax revenue. it was still wrong to do it?
I'm too lazy to look it up, but as I recall what he said was something along the lines that even if tax revenues go down as a result of high tax rates, it's "the right thing to do." Agreed, they don't think in terms of revenue per se. As long ago as the 1940s they publicly admitted as such, stating that with a printing press, strictly speaking, they don't need to tax anybody. It's about punishment, or something. That's where the JEF was coming from. It's just "fair" to tax some people, because reasons, or something. They don't need the money, but they want to fuck with people who work for a living, I guess. Posted by: Common Tater at October 15, 2021 10:18 AM (AV9yQ) 565

*** Though I hate to admit it, I doubt my cats would ever do such a thing. They'd be all, "Why are you so slow? C'mon, man, play with us! Don't be a slacker! When's dinner?" More like "He's weakened - now's our chance! Jump on the counter and take the turkey - he won't be able to catch us!" "What we're seeing, over and over and over again, is that the "professional class" - and Hell, I'm technically one of them - is not composed of independent thinkers. They're moderately trained lemmings, mostly lacking in any kind of analytical skills, following their particular professional organizations."
