The Morning Report - 9/30/21

schellershkd-1.jpg

Good morning, kids. Thursday and honestly, with everything else that is happening, it seems almost pointless and stupid to get all excited about the seeming collapse of both this infrastructure bill and the insane socialist transformation bill. For all intents and purposes, despite the transparent illusion that "republican democracy" and "robust debate in the world's greatest deliberative body" continuing to be played out to the masses, it is indeed a sham. Our governmental system is a corrupt, one-party bureaucratic state, now rapidly devolving into a totalitarian tyranny. We can no longer delude ourselves otherwise; the truth is now out in the open, having been exposed to millions and confirmed to millions more by President-in-Exile Trump. Frankly, there are more than a few links that scare the hell out of me for their implications to each and every one of us.

First, while Vanilli Milley, a fat, fruit salad-festooned fraud who makes Idi Amin look like Audie Murphy, struts, preens and crows about his alleged patriotism by declaring Trump to be Hitler (and worse, colluding with Malig-Nancy Pelosi to seize power a la Gen. Jack D. Ripper), we have the horrendous story of a real officer, gentleman and patriot declared an "enemy of the people" and chucked into the Garland Archipelago to rot alongside the scores of others still rotting there as January 6th political prisoners.

Stu Scheller Sr. and Cathy Scheller, parents of Lt. Col. Stuart Scheller, spoke out against the U.S. Military's decision to throw their son in the brig after he spoke out against military leadership over President Joe Biden's Afghanistan pullout.

Cathy Scheller said that they don't know what the charges are against their son, although Stu Scheller Sr. suggested that it was tied to his son's decision to break a gag order that he was under.

"Probably a week or two ago, or maybe it was a week ago, they put him under a gag order. They took away his right to post, to talk on social media, to email, to text," Stu Scheller Sr. told Fox News host Tucker Carlson. "He shared it with America. And he knew this weekend, when he posted again and he broke his silence, that they were probably going to arrest him on Monday. So, he is a very intelligent man. He understands what's going to happen to him."

"And I said last night on a program, Tucker, his crime was speaking truth to power, and power couldn't handle it."

Right there is a quote-of-the-year contender, not just about this issue but about the entirety of the madness consuming us. From the sacred we now go to the profane, in the form of former Obama apparatchik Kathleen "Supercilious" Sebelius:

Sebelius said, "I think what [so-called quote-unquote "president"] Biden has done is -- [blah, blah, blah, blah, verbal boilerplate fellatio of Biden's shriveled yutzick, etc.] -- But what people don't have a right to do is make other people sick, put other people in jeopardy, risk other people's lives, risk children's lives. So I think the [so-called quote-unquote "president"] has been walking a line of balancing science and safety and security at every step along the way. Hoping that the mass majority of the American public would follow that lead."

She added, "It's a lot like secondhand smoke. You have a right to be a smoker. The science is very clear what smoking will do to you, what cancer will be caused, what kinds of health conditions. You have a right to be a smoker. You don't have a right to smoke next to my desk, to blow smoke on people, on my children, to force me to live in a housing facility where I am subjected to more smoke. That is a line that we have in this country, which delineates what your individual rights are. I think we're looking at very much the same situation. OSHA, you're absolutely right, has always provided guidance and mandates about safety in a workplace. This is not a safe workplace if I'm working with a person that may make me and my family sick. That's not acceptable."

Aside from the knob-gobbling and semen-guzzling which I deleted in the interest of preserving your breakfast and sanity, which was shot to hell by the balance of that pull quote, the abject stupidity of using secondhand smoke as a metaphor for the unvaccinated is radiant. Secondhand smoke being just as dangerous if not more dangerous than the inhalant itself has more or less been debunked. I cannot remember where I saw it but I recall reading a very good essay (or maybe it was a George Carlin rant?) identifying the war on smokers as an opening salvo in the current drive of the war on liberty. First it was smoking sections, then you could only smoke at the bar, then only outdoors, then you had to be 50 feet away from the patio, and on and on and on until you could no longer even smoke in your own home.

But this horrendous hag's words are more than a mere warning of totalitarian overreach (which is sure to come). Her words can kill. And history has shown time and again that words indeed do kill. When you start labeling people as carriers of plague, disease and death and a threat to "the children," how long before some insane Karen (BIRM) pulls a James Hodgkinson on some unmasked passerby in the street?

Those are just two things that I did not want to get lost in the sauce with the hoopla over the apparent Hindenburg-ing of these multi-trillion dollar fiascos. But it is consuming a lot of real estate, whatever the kabuki/bukkake theatrics or the actual machiavellian maneuverings backstage so I suppose it is worth mentioning.

""At some point, all of us, regardless of party must ask the simple question -- how much is enough?" [WV Sen Joe] Manchin said. "What I have made clear to the President and Democratic leaders is that spending trillions more on new and expanded government programs, when we can't even pay for the essential social programs, like Social Security and Medicare, is the definition of fiscal insanity. . . "

"Overall, the amount we spend now must be balanced with what we need and can afford -- not designed to reengineer the social and economic fabric of this nation or vengefully tax for the sake of wishful spending," Manchin continued. "While I am hopeful that common ground can be found that would result in another historic investment in our nation, I cannot -- and will not -- support trillions in spending or an all or nothing approach that ignores the brutal fiscal reality our nation faces."

Manchin concluded, "If there is one final lesson that will continue to guide me in this difficult debate ahead, it is this: America is a great nation but great nations throughout history have been weakened by careless spending and bad policies. Now, more than ever, we must work together to avoid these fatal mistakes so that we may fulfill our greatest responsibility as elected leaders and pass on a better America to the next generation."

Wow. Our hero. Joe's Man-Chin I guess is not a glass jaw. As the great Milton Friedman PBUH once said,

"The important thing is to establish a political climate of opinion which will make it politically profitable for the wrong people to do the right thing. Unless it is politically profitable for the wrong people to do the right thing, the right people will not do the right thing either, or if they try, they will shortly be out of office."

I guess even Milton Friedman could not predict that it's politically and incredibly financially profitable for the wrong people to do the wrong thing AND keep getting re-elected for decades. While I was tempted to put in the Autistic Green Jesus "blah, blah, blah" but I think we all can infer it from the utter horse shit coming out of Manchin's mouth. That said, I guess he knows he'd be shit-canned in his next election for voting us over the cliff, but would he? West Virginians should've dumped his ass years ago but still for whatever reasons they persist.

Meh, I don't mean to dump all over him. And despite my thoughts above, that $3.5 trillion bill is chock full of crap that will be the final nail in the coffin of whatever vestige of our freedom is left. But for him to go on about "fiscal responsibility" is as insulting as Kathleen Supercilious. Joe Manchin as well as virtually every other REPUBLICAN senator and congressman has voted time and time again to raise the debt ceiling, borrow trillions, waste trillions and excoriate the citizenry for not "paying our fair share" (puke). Where was Manchin back then? Where were the Republicans? Yes, I guess it's all well and good that for whatever reasons he and McYertle are letting the Democrats form the circular firing squad and torpedo this madness.

But what happens in 2022 and 2024 if by some miracle Dao-Min Yen contracts dementia and we take over the shooting match again? Do you think the GOP will not only not borrow trillions on their own let alone propose bills that CUT spending, pay down the debt and abolish the bureaucracy?

So, okay, pass the popcorn, as Kyle Smith gloats. But it's a temporary reprieve either this time around or in the coming months and years. Unless things radically change. One way or another.

NOTE: The opinions expressed in some links may or may not reflect my own. I include them because of their relevance to the discussion of a particular issue.

And thus she references one of the early stages of "trust the science" when science has nothing to do with it. Smoking is bad for you. Second-hand smoke is unpleasant and smells bad and can act as an irritation for those with asthma. It has never been demonstrated to cause cancers or long-term health effects among non-smokers. Yet exactly this - the risk of cancers and long-term health effects among non-smokers - was used to justify public-place smoking bans. And it probably isn't true. But it was politically useful, so it became true. And property rights took a deathblow.

And Sebelius should know better.

Lt. Col Scheller knew the risk he was taking. He had turned in his resignation and it was just a matter of waiting things out. He chose otherwise and accepted the consequences.

Now this could be the brass trying to apply pressure along the lines of "fall in line and we'll get you out sooner." Or it could be the higher ups wanting to Make An Example out of him.

There are studies showing it's effectiveness, a number of big pharma companies have been undertaking trials with it and are probably readying a COVID pill utilizing it so of course the OTC version has to be removed from the market.

Jill Biden tries to keep her political identity out of the classroom and has said that many of her former students in Virginia had no idea she was married to the vice president. She also did not talk about it. Secret Service agents accompanied her for security, but she had them dress casually and tote backpacks in an attempt to blend into the campus environment.

I'll bet that her SS handlers were as aces at blending in with their "Hello, Fellow Students!" as their compadres were at the 9/18 event it DC.

The freedom loving, grown up position ought to be leaving your house means you assume the risk of living in the real world, and often it can be unpleasant, even dangerous so learn to deal with it.

Unfortunately, a distinct majority of American view the former as what freedom is all about. Govt. taking care of you.

If you buy almost anything, it does. It is a panopticon, pure and simple. In fact, it will go on your record twice in most cases for most people:
1. The credit card transaction when you bought the stove
2. The online payment from your bank to the card company

This way, they know rather a lot: that you could afford the stove, who you bought it from, when you bought it, which bank you used to buy it, and which bank you use to pay off the other bank, how quickly you paid it off, etc.

It's oppressive at every level.

They claim - preposterously - that it will help catch high-net-worth individuals who cheat on their taxes, presumably by finding people living beyond their official means.

But that $600 is a big red flag for me, and it should be obvious to anyone who has worked as an independent contractor: that's the reporting threshold for 1099 work. If you do more than $600 worth of work for someone, you have to declare it. If you sell more than $600 worth of goods, you have to declare it.

The main purpose is panopticism, but the practical purpose isn't rich tax cheats, it's you - the guy who does an odd job but doesn't declare it, who sells knickknacks on eBay but doesn't declare it, etc.

Yup. The American system. America is not and never was a "classless society." Such a thing is impossible. What we were, for a time, was a class-irrelevant society. Your conditions of birth didn't dictate where you ended up, your ability did. You could fall from great heights or rise to them. It didn't matter. Class was fluid and mobile. Sure, there were folks like the NY Socialite crowd, and the Southern land baron crowd, and the Newport industrialist crowd (all with various overlaps) and you couldn't get into those cliques without some pseudo-aristocratic pedigree - but they also never really mattered. Those same people would deal with you - the rich outsider of ability - just the same, though they wouldn't invite you to their stupid parties.

Or just cash. I use cash extensively, because the credit card company/big bank panopticon sucked before the IRS decided to try to get involved.

They might make a note of your cash withdrawals and that, too, will be an indicator of your subversion - but they will not know where all the money went unless you tell them (say, by using a supermarket discount club card). Use cash in your daily life wherever you can. If you do an odd job, demand cash payment.

118 The second-hand smoke analogy is dumb. It would only make sense (sorta) if vaccinated people could not shed virus and infect others. But we know that's not true.

Vaccinated people shed the virus. In fact, studies have shown that they can shed more virus than infected unvaccinated people, and that they can shed it when they're showing no symptoms, which makes them even more dangerous to be around than the un-vaxxed.

A vaccinated person is just as likely, and in some cases more likely, to infect another person than an unvaccinated person is.

So the vaccinated person is blowing smoke in other people's faces too. In some cases, they're blowing more smoke, and they're doing it when you're not aware of it, which makes it harder to avoid.

Classic Sefton story. Living in Chelsea with two friends in the early 80s. VCRs back then were all the rage and hugely expensive. My buddy comes in one night with a heavy box and through his shit eating grin told us he scored a VCR off the back of a truck for $50.

We opened the box and I saw that the lights on the panel were on. Huh? After peeling off the plastic wrap and a cable TV cable(?) we saw it was a picture of a VCR taped to some nailed together two-by-fours wrapped in Saranwrap. We laughed our asses off. My buddy, who was a very streetwise juvey as a kid said "Meh, it was good street theater."

It's a control dream come true, but there are problems, especially in this country. Even in places with far fewer obstacles than here, cashless transitions have failed (notably Sweden and Hong Kong). For us in particular, there are three huge obstacles:
1. The preferred identity groups - notably the black population - uses a lot of cash. They even have a stupid word for this "underbanked," Switching to cashless would piss off a lot of Democrat power centers.
2. We're the reserve currency, and a lot of US cash is used abroad. That cash has to be able to repatriate or it is worthless. If it can't be circulated, it can't function properly.
3. The US government pays for a *lot* of perfidious, corrupt and evil things overseas with pallets of Benjamins. If we go cashless, it becomes a whole lot harder to finance that, because - like example 2 - it can't repatriate and circulate effectively.

Our ruling class's need to misbehave is likely greater than their need for additional marginal control.

But today? According to the U.S. Department of Education, 54 percent of U.S. adults 16-74 years old about 130 million people lack proficiency in literacy, reading below the equivalent of a sixth-grade level.

Public education is an abject failure by any conceivable standard except one. That one exception is John Dewey's standard, and he is the inventor of our modern education system, which came into being during the 20th century.

"The mere absorbing of facts and truths is so exclusively individual an affair that it tends very naturally to pass into selfishness. There is no obvious social motive for the acquirement of mere learning, there is no clear social gain in success thereat."

Mission Accomplished.

That seems about right to me. The purpose of education is to get you to a level where you can absorb information, apply reason, and come up with your own conclusion.

The way to destroy education is to get people to want to put the books down and never read again. (Hence why generations of English teachers have inflicted Ethan Frome on students.)

Eh, if you're a day-trader using a lot of automation, I can concede the possibility. You buy and sell based on signals, and some of that can be automated. You can do a bit batch and then sell it again and not know every line item in it.

But in that case, you're not an investor, you're a trader. And you're not holding things for more than a few days in most cases. You don't own a stock and hold onto it without knowing it's there. You might have a really diverse portfolio and not remember *everything* in it, but if you have a significant position in anything, you do.

Early on during the WoT the left bitched endlessly that we were forcing Christianity on 'Stan and Iraq. Their evidence? Well...they didn't have any as usual, but the point was that Christianity would turn Muslims against us.

But apparently pushing woke and big gay on them is just a normal thing though - because there is nothing pious Muslims like more then gay marriage and radical feminism.

And the more you get into the causal relationships of how moral subjectivism shapes their worldview, the more you realize that they will come to the exact opposite conclusion to anyone using an objective philosophy.

The claim that they love science is especially risible, since the scientific method is only valid in an objective, external reality. If reality is observer-based an internal, there's no reason an experiment that failed once won't succeed next time, without changing a single variable.

It's easily disproven, yet, you can't defeat it with reason. You can't reason them out of it, because they weren't reasoned into it.

Sebelius, baby, that horse left the barn when Faucistein funded his private bioweapons program in a lab he knew to have poor security in a country unable to regulate research activity. The "safety" issue isn't vax or masks, both of which are highly debatable as to impacts on your safety, its lots more fundamental.

Yep. The point I always come back to is that during the Obama years the left constantly blamed the failed economy on people talking it down.

Then Trump got elected, made a number of changes, and we had the best economy in American history.

And the left looks at that and basically just claims it didn't happen.

260 Iran is blocking United Nations inspectors from accessing cameras and monitoring equipment at one of its key nuclear sites, the UN International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) disclosed on Monday.

The Karaj nuclear site in northern Iran houses the regimes main centrifuge manufacturing facility. In late June, an unidentified drone attack severely damaged the site. Tehran initially blamed Israel for the attack.

The regime tried to downplay the extent of the destruction, but later satellite images showed evidence of a significant fire or an expulsion at the site. The damage to the facility was a notable setback for Iran as the centrifuges from the factory were being deployed to produce near-weapons-grade uranium.

Based on what he did with the other meds, he'd likely go after the pharmaceutical company(s) supplying the ivermection, either buy them out, pressure them to stop selling to FL, or shut them down. Just look at how CVS and Walgreens were recruited into this tyranny by instructing all of their pharmacists to refuse to fill valid prescription for ivermectin. They have inserted themselves into the doctor-patient relationship, and I have no doubt they did this at the request of the Biden admin/CSC/NIH.

I suspect that most of the tens of thousands of new IRS agents - and that number will only grow, not shrink - will wear jackboots instead of green visors. And they won't be stomping people coming out of Best Buy. That would be counter-productive. They'll be doing pre-dawn raids against specific targets, on their whim and at their sole discretion.

325 The only danger ever shown for "second hand smoke" occurs in an environment where radon is present. Radon alone can be inhaled but then will mostly also be exhaled and not stay in the lungs for long. The breakdown products of radon are particles which can stick to tars and dust.

If large, long term quantities of the tar particles in "second hand smoke" are also present the these daughter particles can get stuck on them and the be inhaled and stay in the lungs. Dust also can carry them also. Radon and the daughter particles emit alpha or beta particles which are very short range and so they must be in intimate contact to harm a cell and change it into a cancer cell.

The danger is smoke and dust in the air with radon. Any smoke or dust.

The medical people there gave her antibiotics, did not test her, she was told that the test for swine flu is pretty expensive, they can't do it for everybody, takes a awhile and so forth, you could die before we find out - no, they're not told that, but I mean that's what people think. They're being led to believe they're going to die if they get the virus. If they get this flu, they think they're going to die. That's what this has all created.

So the bottom line is the medical people then report a swine flu case. Now, if this is true and it's happening all over the place then the number of cases is being hyped. And I don't doubt that it is. I don't doubt that the number of H1N1 cases out there is being hyped. And for many of the same reasons that AIDS was and still is hyped in Africa. Everything in Africa is called AIDS. The reason is they get aid money for it, AIDS is the biggest pot that people throw donation money into.

345 Currently a SAR is generated with $10k - and "structuring" is a crime of making less than $10k transactions to avoid that.
So what will the structuring limit be when $600 is the amount that triggers reporting?
Posted by: blaster at September 30, 2021 08:17 AM (mbFEM)
++++
The fucking SAR. What a damn joke. And the structuring limit is probably 20 bucks.

On the SAR, here's a bit of perspective for how big it *should* be now, all other things being equal:
From an FDIC limit basis, it was originally 50%. Today, that would be a $125k SAR threshold.
From a median income basis, it was originally 101.3% of median income. Today, that would be a $68.5k SAR threshold.
From a per-capita GDP basis, it was originally 191% of per-capita GDP. Today, that would be a $121k SAR threshold.

This shows two things. First, median income has not tracked the economy (this is known, and why Trump's middle-class and lower-class income gains were so remarkable), and second that the SAR limit should be at least 7x greater than it is, by the most conservative measure and it should reasonably be 12x greater.

Huge outcry of wine moms resulted in apples being removed from stores and destroyed, even if they had not been sprayed with Alar and health ans safety conscious moms just stopped buying them for a long time just to be sure.

Now these same type of people, in response to media panic, are lining up for a shot of questionable need, effectiveness and safety for themselves and their kids because the govt and MSM tell them it is safe.

So many people are easily panicked lemmings and gladly do what they are told by the ruling class.

Why the hell are people who have had SARS-CoV-2/COVID-19 getting the shot? The least bit of research shows that if you recover from SARS-CoV-2/COVID-19, you have antibodies and are protected from future strains of the virus/disease.

This whole Plandemic has proven that the vast majority of people are deliberately ignorant sheep who will do whatever the government or media tells them to do, even putting their own lives at risk and the lives of those they care about.

Government has a history of lying about everything to do with a virus/disease and the "vaccine" for it? No problem! Everyone just gets in line for the boxcars to get shot up with an dangerous, experimental and inefficient drug, where no one can hold anyone accountable for severe adverse reactions.

His re-election is a pretty long time away (in political terms) and he's got a fairly good chance of winning so long as he doesn't do something memorable with consequences that linger in his state until then ... like passing AOC's Green New Deal, which is what the 3.5T hides. $600 bank law proposal: 600 is the threshold for issuing 1099. That's why it was chosen. Second, barter and cash will explode. Thus, when said law dies not raise projected revenue, a new law mandating cash exchanges will be passed.

I decided this morning after reading that its OTC status is in jeopardy (Amazon is no longer selling it) to go ahead and pick up a couple more bottles, just in case it becomes extinct.

Pretty much out of stock in all pharmacies including Walmart, and online isn't much better. I did find the same bottle I ordered for $77 (didn't buy). Two online shops had a banner once I reached checkout telling me I could not use paypal to pay for NAC. Huh.

379 Oh, c'mon. Manchin might lose his next race (if he even runs - he'll be 7, but it won't be over a freaking spending bill. Sinema could conceivably be worried about the bill affecting her chances, but I doubt it.

Fact is, most people and all Democrats don't get upset about spending. My question is why did they vote "wrong," here?

I can't believe they were bribed by private interests... The corporate sector is on board with anything the Big Blue Machine does. I can't believe they struck bargains with McConnell... The GOP has nothing more to offer a Democrat, and I'm quite sure they don't oppose these bills strongly, if at all, anyway.

My only explanation is that it really was just failure theater for the stupid idiots to watch and rage about, and that they are the designated Judas goats... I wonder if Schumer bribed them to take the beating, or if it was just pro forma team-play on their parts.

380 545 Not A Cop

I used to get a printout every month, with hundreds of SARs summarized on it-- & that's in one of the smallest federal judicial districts.

Unless there was a Mount Everest on it, my impression was that the IRS wasn't interested.

SARs mostly come into play when some OTHER crime, i.e., money laundering of drug proceeds, is already under investigation. Then you have a look at the SARs.

If folks are concerned that the feds are going to jump all over investigating $600 bank transactions, all I can say is that that wouldn't be consistent with what I saw. I retired 3 years ago, but I suspect nothing has changed regarding SARs.

383 Smarterer, not harderer. We need a positive presentation of changing the status quo spending, otherwise our pitch is to take away the punchbowl at the party, which is clearly a losing proposition. We also need to shift the electoral balance to create a larger majority to minimize RINO power. Read anything from the Moynihan Report in 1965 to Heather Macdonald today on the importance of supporting the family in fixing our dysfunction. That is the positive vision of spending that will shift the electoral balance. Vouchers instead of DOE is the first step.
