I'm guessing that they keep him away from the public as much as possible going into the Thanksgiving/Christmas period, and that his next big speech after that will be the State of the Union, where he gets a standing ovation after declaring that his admin has undone the evils of the Trump administration.

A couple weeks later, with no appearances in between, he'll address the nation from the Oval Office, where he'll sadly announce that his health is failing, and that he must step aside. The media will play it up as some sort of heroic narrative: the dedicated public servant who finally after decades achieved his lifelong dream, only to sacrifice his health to fix the country before selflessly stepping aside for a new generation.

I am not sure they are exactly trained to but its not an unnatural panic instinct to fire until it goes clock. Plus, trainers know that no matter how well you do at the range, in a real shooting situation you're not likely to be nearly as accurate so best to put as many rounds at the target as you can until they stop being dangerous.

Apparently quite a few of the haitians had already been granted asylum in various Countries before they came to the US. Some reporter found dozens and dozens of abandoned refugee cards in Mexico. They tossed them away so they wouldn't be found on them when they claimed asylum in the US.

If you have to ask "was that enough"... it wasn't enough.
I could imagine some lawyer making a case that an officer *not* emptying their magazine was evidence that the shooting was not justified. However, my knowledge of the law is mostly just that.... imaginary.

Yep, ask anyone who has been in combat thinking they had taken out the target until they suddenly start taking fire from a completely different direction. If you ain't been there you have zero business monday morning quarterbacking people that have been in those situations. Anything worth shooting once is worth shooting twice. Ammo is cheap, life is expensive.

The one thing that concerns me about this is that he's shooting fast enough that he's splattering rounds all over the place and most are just noisemakers. Suppressing fire is proper military doctrine, but for lots of reasons it's not advisable in a civilian police situation. His backdrop looks okay, but those rounds do eventually have to fall back to earth. If they pop through some citizen's dining room window, well... sucks to be you, I guess.

Read about Ryan Waller. He was shot in the face and brain. The police stuffed him in a cruiser for hours and then an interview room for hours as a suspect in the death of his girlfriend.
