One of my principals had a daughter who did her student teaching in Japan. He said teachers were given 4hrs/day for classroom prep, with the other four in the classroom. Compared to US, where you might get 1/hr prep to 6hrs/classroom. And teachers in Japan aren't sitting around in the teacher's lounge during their prep time.

I think the bad stuff from chrome is disabled in Brave. Brave tech people discuss that a lot in their blog. Brave has their own search engine now too. It's not great. More than half the time I have to abandon the search and try google. I hope it improves but I'd say right now it's now sufficient for searching.

Man stops to fiddle with his phone when his GPS app freezes. Cop knocks on the window and asks for license and registration. Driver hands those over and announces he's legally carrying a CCW, and hands over his permit.
The LEO arrests him and scours his car and person. His "probable cause" was he didn't know if the CCW was valid and the driver had a gun. Neat trick, right? Having a CCW in this cop's mind is instant probable cause, and I guarantee you he's not the only one.
In a hearing for qualified immunity, a judge decided this piece of shit doesn't qualify for QI, and he can be personally sued.

I get why this might indeed be the case. Unfortunately, I think the only solution to this is to reduce the GOP to a rump party, and let the Dems run roughshod over what's left of the Constitution. Then, and only then, might enough of the Leftist holdouts see what they've done, and allow a new GOP to get back into power.
A high-risk maneuver, of course. Look at Venezuela. I don't think they're coming back anytime soon.

Qwant is a search engine from Euroland and it has the best non-Google results in my experience. Better than DDG, better than Google in most areas. Their image search sucks, though, and Google is still better for some specific technical searches.

I used Qwant quite a bit this year after DDG showed their true colors (they're still mostly decent). Another one that's *really* improved a lot and I think I now prefer over Qwant is Ecosia.org. Yeah, they got their "plant a tree" shtick, but it works well, it's fast and not as schizo on image searches as some. Any complaints I had about ecosia have been addressed in the past few weeks.

I haven't read all the comments, so this may be a repeat, but that is NOT how PBIS works. My district uses it to nip a student's misbehavior in the bud before they get a disciplinary referral, and it's usually for something knuckle-headed like "forgetting" to bring notebooks, pencils, etc. to class every day.
On my end, I (occasionally) use a three-question behavioral contract with students:
1. What was I doing?
2. What was I supposed to be doing?
3. What will I do in the future?
I've used it on Caucasian, Asian, Black, and First Nation kids. Hold them accountable for their own actions, redirect them to "winning strategies" (don't know if this is PBIS, but our coach/teachers loved this phrase), and watch them improve.
