Good morning, kids. Midweek and as Afghanistan continues its descent into hell on earth, while tens of millions of us becoming internal exiles right here in the former United States of America, I am reminded of a quote from Edna St. Vincent Millay:

"I love humanity, but I hate people."

For me, it crystallizes the Orwellian irony, dichotomy, disconnect, call-it-what-you-will of Democrat/Leftist/Progressive's complete disregard for individual human suffering. Wrapping themselves in the Shroud of Turin while proclaiming the goal of creating heaven on earth, they bring nothing but death and destruction. Funny how Angel of Death Cuomo gets his Emmy Award revoked for sexual abuse and harassment of about a dozen women yet there is not a peep about the 15-18,000 or more (we'll never get an honest accounting of the real number) frail, elderly nursing home residents he murdered by intentionally exposing them to the Chinese Lung AIDS. Bookend what Millay said with this pearl of wisdom from Stalin himself:

"The death of one man is a tragedy. The death of millions is a statistic."

And as his parting (to be determined) gift to us, Cuomo pardoned four murderers including David Gilbert, an unrepentant member of the Weather Underground and partner of Kathy Boudin in the 1981 fatal Brinks armored car robbery. They're also the proud parents of Chesa Boudin, the District Attorney of San Francisco.

Before letting that sink in and running to the kitchen to stick your head in the oven, there's plenty more madness where that came from. In any case, you have to ask yourself as horrible a human being as Cuomo is, what possible reason would he have for doing this? Sure, he more than likely was bribed into doing it; Boudin is well connected to the Soros, Buffett and Zuckerberg mafia, which considering the political and philosophical roots of the Weatherman is rather ironic. It's all a gigantic, confusing muddle but at the end of the day it boils down to power and control. And death.

Psaki-psircling back, even with the United States military dressed in drag and flagellating itself to exorcise the phantom white supremacist demons allegedly in its soul, we could still pulverize the Taliban to a state that would make Rachel Corrie look like Tank Abrams. And yet, we're not going to do it. We're going to let thousands of our own citizens who are there at the behest of this government or guaranteed its protection become hostages of dark age barbarians. Of course when I say "we," I mean the person or persons controlling Joe Biden. There's also the matter of the average Afghani civilian. Look, I am no special pleader and I do agree that the entire democracy project was a farce and a failure. But Joe Biden is going to be the one to put them all back in chains. That is, after these savages are done using them as whips.

The passionate moment occurred during an ITV News report profiling the chaos outside the British Embassy where crowds flooded the makeshift entrance as passport holders waited helplessly for their chance to get inside. One harrowing story involved two children who were reportedly left behind by their parents after being admitted.
"Mr. Biden, you did this! You planned this! You made the deal with the Taliban," the man told ITV News.
"This is the consequences of it! This is the repercussions of it! Mr. Biden, it's your ill calculation! You were against Trump, now we're against you!" he raged. "Go to hell, Biden!"

"Go to hell, Biden." In the immortal words of Gus Grissom as played by Fred Ward "fuckin' 'A', bubba." And from the look of things, he's on his way at warp speed.

Speaking of "warp speed," as the free world, or what there is of it that really is free, collapses and the Chi-Coms and Russkies move in to carve up the spoils - the 12th (13th?) Imam's arrival notwithstanding - our own homegrown tyrannical death dealers are ramping up the fear and the threats if you do not submit. But now the junta in power is essentially threatening to cut you off, ostracize you and worse if you do not comply.

While the authors made no mention of making individual benefits dependent upon vaccination, their proposal raises that frightening possibility. Since the federal government adopted part of that recommendation, what would prevent those who need Medicare and Medicaid from eventually being targeted?

No jab, no freedom. Maybe even no jab, no LIFE. If you're saying to yourself "they'll never go that far," look back on everything over the past several years that they have done and ask yourself, before they did it did you say to yourself "they'll never go that far?"

Respectfully, JJ, I think I disagree with the word choice. Freedom - that, is liberty - is a construct of rights. The world you're describing - and the world in which we live - is one without effective rights. Liberty does not exist in practice anymore. The rights have been subjugated and suppressed by the state. The state has replaced those rights with privileges.

To retain those privileges - those things that are actually rights that have been taken away and doled back out as a form of perverse incentive - you must do as you're told. They are no longer yours by virtual of being human, they are lent to you based only on the virtue of your level of obedience to the state.

"Jab == freedom" is an impossible construction. No one in such a system - even one who got the vaccination and thus was granted the privileges that should have been rights - possesses liberty.

Hence the threats of cutting off Medicare and Medicaid. Its my theory for them to start pushing a vaccine passport. Like you said there is no way to know who is and isn't actually vaccinated. So you push for a standardized way. And then you use the legal limit for alcohol as the template to get states that have banned it to overturn those laws. There is no federal law that the legal limit is .08 yet it is the legal limit everywhere. Why? Because if your state doesn't do it they cut off federal highway funds.

Money. They will find a new card service processor. There are card service operations that specialize in seedy businesses. The problem with porno (and this was true back when 1-900 numbers reined supreme) is the large volume of contested charges. When someone claims fraud and contests a charge, that falls back on the vendor but the processor also takes a hit. That's why a lot of processors shy away from these businesses - it is a paperwork nightmare and it's very expensive.

Those who specialize in these businesses have better risk models and they offset the chargeback activity by increasing prices to accommodate the risk. OF can probably find a card processor, they will just probably have to pay twice as much or maybe even more for processing. When this happens, if you use the service you will probably have a new administration or service-handling fee when you buy from them.

It seems that full approval is for Comrinaty. That is made by Biontech. That is NOT available at the current time.

The EUA is for the Pfizer shot. That still seems to be in effect.

Problem: There cannot be an EUA if there is an approved alternative. There is an approved alternative, so in theory, the EUA has to be lifted for all the injections.

Also... if you're required to get this injection by your employer, they are responsible for side effects and/or your death.

411 It seems that full approval is for Comrinaty. That is made by Biontech. That is NOT available at the current time.

The EUA is for the Pfizer shot. That still seems to be in effect.

Problem: There cannot be an EUA if there is an approved alternative. There is an approved alternative, so in theory, the EUA has to be lifted for all the injections.

Also... if you're required to get this injection by your employer, they are responsible for side effects and/or your death.

I doubt they did. Transactions are transactions.

The credit card business has a lot of moving parts. The big networks - Visa and MC - are intermediaries. There are four other parties to the transaction: the bank (issuer), the merchant (vendor), the customer (cardholder) and the transaction processor. It clears through Visa/MC as the glue to hold things together, but those other four parties get a lot of influence. It is *usually* the processor that's the problem, since they are responsible for bookkeeping and resolving fraud on behalf of the issuer and the network. Fraud is paid for by the merchant and the processor has to deal with it when a charge is contested and refunded (chargeback).

Discover/Amex are different because they are both network and bank, so they're harder to deal with. The problem is unlikely the network and more likely the processor. OF will find a new one that will charge them an eye-watering vig to process high-risk transaction classes with lots of chargebacks.

Because severe high-speed accidents are rare on buses and seat belts hinder evacuation time pretty dramatically in an accident. The rapidity of evac is more valuable than the minor influence of a belt during a low-speed accident when all surfaces are padded.

This is for school buses, anyway. I am not sure if it is the same rationale for transit buses.

Evac happens all the time. Disabled vehicle is common. Minor accidents still require evacuation. Stuck vehicles happen too, especially in winter. Fire - in a big tube full of vinyl - is a bigger risk than things like rollovers and buses careening off of cliffs or bridges. Those happen, but they're rare. They play law of averages, and averages indicate that evacuation ease - especially with unruly kids - is more valuable than belts.

And sometimes there are more! For example, in the UK there is an outfit called "118 118 Money" that provides credit cards to deadbeats and other high risk debtors.

The card has their brand, they are the ones that decide who gets what sort of level of credit (limits, rates, etc) they handle all of the notices, the management of the card and are the portal for receiving funds. 118 118 is not a bank. They use a top five bank in UK to hold the money, Mastercard handles merchant transactions and controls the functionality of the card, TSYS handles the actual credits/debits, payments and other mechanicals of the transaction. Then you have the merchant and the primary card-holder (as opposed to subs who can use the card by permission of the primary).

Fun Fact: People accused Mastercard of blocking gun purchases. There are no merchant codes for Gun Dealers, it may appear as Pawn, Sports Equipment, or General Merchandise.

That's a fair distinction. I don't know if the school bus authorities make that distinction. This was the description given at a meeting when a parent asked this same question - why no seatbelts - and the county issued the explanation after consulting with the bus authority. Maybe they don't differentiate.

In an interview w/local Boston news in June, the Moderna CEO said there would be booster "for the forseeable future to protect against covid variants. There was always going to be boosters - plural. The talk of a 3rd one is simply getting the public used to the idea.
