North Texas Hospital Will Soon Use Vaccination Status to Decide If You're Worth an ICU Bed
This would be an addition to the rules of triage -- who gets medical resources when medical resources are scant.
But usually those considerations are limited to questions of, for example, the chances of a patient dying even if he gets medical care, or the chances he will live if he doesn't get care. In other words: based on the actual likely impact of care. If medical resources are scant, the guy with a broken foot will have to wait in the ER until the guy with the gunshot wound has been stabilized. And the guy with a massive gunshot wound may be treated after a guy with a much lighter gunshot wound -- if the doctors decide that the odds of saving the guy with the massive wound are fairly low, but the odds of saving the guy with the lighter wound are high. Tough decisions, but note they're all based on considerations about likelihood of survival or death. That will no longer be the case in one North Texas hospital. This new rewrite of the rules of triage seem to purely punitive and based on Middle Class Karen moral/political/social judgements. Triage nurses will no longer be evaluating patients' chances of survival or death with or without medical treatment; it shifts the rules of triage to being about bureaucrats' notions of who acted morally and got the vaccine, and those who acted immorally and did not get it.North Texas doctors have quietly developed a plan that seeks to prepare for the possibility that due to the COVID-19 surge the region will run out of intensive-care beds. If that happens, for the first time, doctors officially will be allowed to take vaccination status of sick patients into account along with other triage factors to see who gets a bed. A copy of an internal memo written by Dr. Robert Fine, co-chair of the North Texas Mass Critical Care Guideline Task Force, was sent to members of the task force -- and leaked to The Watchdog. It summarizes the latest work by the task force, a volunteer group that periodically updates medical guidelines for hospitals in our region. There are about 50 members from various hospitals in the group. Although their recommendations are not enforceable, the guidelines are generally followed. The one-page summary memo is a “heads up” alert in the event things get worse, says Dr. Mark Casanova, director of clinical ethics for Baylor University Medical Center and a spokesperson for the task force. After Monday’s meeting, doctors had yet to make plans to inform the public. “We’re trying to decide how to explain this addition to the public,” Casanova said. But after studying the memo and interviewing doctors involved in the decision for two hours this week, The Watchdog can explain it to you. Although doctors make triage decisions all the time, the proposed guideline addition is significant. Casanova predicted that if this change were copied by others medical care, for as long as the crisis persists, “is going to look and feel different for everybody who is alive right now in the United States of America.” Yet a leading medical ethicist who studies how COVID-19 affects communities says he worries that adding vaccination status to the triage of patients will unfairly harm low-income people and people of color. A lot of people say stuff like "it only is a danger to old people" or "it's only a danger to fat people with comorbidities."
Well, like 25% of the country is 65 or older and one third of the population is obese (IIRC). And common things like hypertension count as a "comorbidity," though I suspect that's mostly due to its association with obesity. (They're all part of a cluster.)
Anyway, point is, there are a LOT of at-risk people. And even if it's not a lethal risk to you, most of the people who get it say it's a really, really bad illness that lasts ten days of misery that you don't want to get.

My friend died of it. Yes, he had comorbidities (obese, prior heart issues), but he got covid and was dead the following week.
I support anyone doing the risk/benefit calculations for themselves, but I think of my dead friend when I see people really underestimating the risks of getting covid.
and no, he wasn't vaccinated. he died just a month or two into the large-scale roll-out. Not sure he would have gotten it; he didn't like anything that smacked of Joining.

Actually, such decision can be sued over, what you stated above would be normally a fact for the jury to determine. While hospitals can claim general accepted practice as a defense, the jury can determine that the hospital's actions were not generally accepted or that the generally accepted practice was not followed. Thus, liability for the hospital without a statute like the Covid vaccine bill that grants immunity. Even that bill might not grant immunity if the vaccine had manufacturing defects depending on how it was written. The PLCAA regarding firearms still allows wrongful death or injury lawsuits deriving from manufacturing defects which is why Remington had to pay out on its R700 trigger.

It's not. Anyone can add to that list, and they can add things that are clearly not related to the vaccine, like getting a cancer diagnosis a week afer the vaccination.
When you give out 160 million doses, a lot of those people are just going to have unrelated illnesses at about the same time. Simple statistics makes this an absolute lock.

The yearly flu vaccine is a best-guess attempt to stop the flus they've seen earlier in the year. But those flus might not be the ones you get exposed to, and they may mutate further.

I'm not saying people didn't die from it in greater numbers but I sincerely doubt it's near the 600K number.

Probably all of the relatively easy vaccines were possible without benefit of recombinant technology, etc. My guess is the reason we don't have vaccines for every viral illness is because viruses are very different. Measles and polio lent themselves to the creation of effective vaccines. CCP flu and Influenza don't.

This is why I'm hesitant to buy the figures for either the death rate or the vax death rate. The measurement system for both really suck.

my friend, with no history of any mental problems whatsoever, got dementia and began experiencing hallucinations and bizarre paranoias. My other friend only checked up on him because of those sudden-onset mental issues.
My friend died of a heart attack en route to the hospital, being taken there by my other friend.
I mean, it affects people differently. But I wouldn't assume the best. The worst has to be considered, too.

I'm pretty sure that the first version of this thing was horrific. I know 1 guy that died (yes, comorbidity), one that was flat on his back for 3 weeks+ (no comorbidity), and one that had cold like symptoms. My mother passed from it at 93, and was quite ill before that. I have a client who just had a "breakout" case, his kids got sick as well. He's quarantining himself now. But I'd also say the lies propagated about the drug didn't help public perception. First it was 95% effective to stop covid. Now? You won't get quite as sick. (!?!?) The censorship of information by experts is also troubling. The guy who invented it? C'mon. If they're covering up deaths and side effects caused by this crap, they'll never be trusted again.

I was actually pretty suspicious of the flu vaccine before the WuFlu insanity started, which is why I never got that either. I did used to get the flu at the same time every year for 2-3 years, and then never got it again. I think the last time I got sick from it was over 15 years ago.

So far the ability of the vaccine to make symptoms/outcomes less severe seem to hold up, at least hold up much better than resistance to getting covid at all (especially the newer variants). Whether the vaccinated with covid can spread it while asymptomatic (a kinda big issue) is unknown, but seems doubtful.

The forced Vaccines are part of The Great Reset. Our Overlords have written books, papers, and spoken about it for a couple of decades. So not getting it.

When you are faced with the possibility of false dialogues for whatever reason, look to the data you can trust. with a mass death event like this, look to death stats. Was there excess deaths anywhere but the North East? Were the death rates higher than last bad flu season?
Then of course ask if the Covid home care advice, pre hospitalization, of go home, stay isolated, and come back when we have to put you on a respirator might have added to the death count
I won't say you are wrong, but I will say I see the evidence leading to another possibility

I keep sounding like a broken record on this: the additional deaths in institutional settings were an entire order of magnitude beyond normal until docs started using effective treatments w/ various drugs and specific vitamins. And they were even higher than that in places where Dem governors and mayors deliberately stoked the fires (NYC, Chicago, etc) or where effective treatments were suppressed
The majority of the US, geographically, had not yet had their major wave come through before that was figured out. Those areas that did and ticked off certain other boxes got hit much harder.
We won't know exactly how many died from it, but the whole "hurr durr, guy died on a motorcycle and it counted as COVID! The numbers are made up!" set of talking points is retarded (hence why it was shilled so hard by ShareBlue, etc)

I've had the J&J months ago due to heightened risk due to medical conditions dealing with autoimmunity and repeated medical treatment. I am in and out of medical facilities for treatment and so I got it. Since having it, been having some significant autoimmune issues which might or might not be related and now understand that at least some of those organizations dealing with autoimmunity issues advise caution.
If you have blood or heart issues, also consult with those docs before doing it.

right, we have no confidence in those numbers. Certainly the correct treatment, especially early (instead of sending them home till they can't breathe) could have reduced the real numbers. But counting all the flu deaths and (from multiple testimonies of ICU nurses and others) they are counting many things as covid to get those sweet federal dollars.
But certainly untreated, for those with comorbidities, covid can be deadly. (but we may well have herd immunity, I'm not clear on the argument that mass vaccination might cause us to lose that herd immunity)

My family's circle knows more than several that have died because of it. Yes, older, but still. I know some young fit folks who got real sick during the first and second waves before Delta, and it messed them up bad, but that was the exception. Everybody else it was a cake walk.
It really is something you have to see to believe. Like I said, South Georgia got the New York Strain in late Feb. it was terrible. The police had to enforce breaking up gatherings of youths for a while, which they try to avoid.

I assume CDC can count total deaths with decent accuracy and that by and large we properly evaluate when someone is dead, regardless of what caused it.
That being the case--2020 had 503,976k more deaths than 2019. That's a jump of 17.7 percent. They only attribute 378k of those deaths to COVID.

I know a few people who have had it. A couple were totally wiped out for two weeks. Most of them said it was a cakewalk. Fortunately, I don't personally know anyone who died of it.
I don't know what to think about that. It's odd to me that it hits some people who are younger and healthy with no co-morbidities pretty hard, but most young and healthy people are hardly inconvenienced by it.

I don't know what I'd advise. I THINK natural immunity is just as good (or better) than vax immunity, but the latter is fading, so mightn't the natural version fade, too?
a month ago I would have said natural immunity is fine, but now, I don't know.
I do know that very, very few people with immunity of either kind get seriously sick

I know a few people who have had it. A couple were totally wiped out for two weeks. Most of them said it was a cakewalk. Fortunately, I don't personally know anyone who died of it.
I don't know what to think about that. It's odd to me that it hits some people who are younger and healthy with no co-morbidities pretty hard, but most young and healthy people are hardly inconvenienced by it.

I've known quite a few people who have had it. Mid 40s to 60s mostly. Most described it like a bad flu or had basically no symptoms(who knows really could've just been a positive test).

Even with at-risk, it's really random. I have a close family member who checks off more serious co-morbidity boxes than you can count -- this person basically assumed getting the coof would be a death sentence. Summer of last year, they got tested (required by job), and this person was positive. The results took two weeks to get back to us.
There were no symptoms at all. We thought it was a false positive, but the antibody test (taken later) showed antibodies.

Right now, it seems that natural immunity is longer lasting and trumps any vaccine oriented immunity. Todd Zwicki at GWU Law School recently won an exemption from being vaccinated because he demonstrated that he had had Covid and had superior immunity to variants because of it.
Right now, the jury is open whether or not vaccines damage any natural immunity or enhance natural immunity from having covid. I do know that a study indicated using a relatively small number of people exposed to the original SARs apparently have immunity to the related Covid virus over a decade later.

It's not really possible to get a clean shot of the data right now. Might be a few years. One approach is to look at a narrow set of the data that can be thoroughly vetted and get an estimate of the death rate. Is it actually massively more deadly than the flu on a per case basis? From what I've seen, no.

This had the great awakening effect in me that something was off. Not being handled right...for reasons each of us can only speculate. Covid is a legit risk, but it is not an equal risk to, say, grade schoolers vs. their granparents, the obese and sedentary vs. the fit, those who are overall healthy vs. those dealing with other ailments that out them at risk for a worse reaction to the virus.
If they were pushing the vaccine AND getting active and fit, losing weight, taking vitamin D and getting a lot of sunlight, there would have likely been less resistance to the vaccine. Not that more would get it, but people would not be so stubborn. That's what happens when you lie to them, tell them only your facts matter, and you deserve to dies if you disagree.
And then there the way they have smeared HCQ and ivermectin as dangerous and untested depite both being around for a while/proven safe for treating other ailments, as well as overall how often drugs are used off-label for other illnesses. Suddenly off-label is off-limits and HCG is "dangerous?" BS.

The last time I had a bad case of the seasonal flu was 30 years ago. It pretty much wiped me out for two weeks. I also remember when the seasonal flu would be attributed to killing thousands.

what does that even mean? Look, my friend had comborbidities but he was in very low risk of dying (he was healthy, active, and employed) until covid.
You're blowing off the covid deaths of people who were overweight. People don't just die of being overweight. They die of being overweight AND getting an illness or syndrome that being overweight is an intensifying factor for.

Theres a recent study out of India. The recovered have far superior immunity and implies ( not fully studied yet) that vaccinated on top of that could pose problems. Seems logical to me- confusing hell out of a very efficient bodily response team, but you should look for it. Sorry I don't have a link.

I'd guess that strict no comorbidity means COVID overran someone so quickly that these was absolutely, positively nothing that could have been done to save them.
If they toss in a second cause of death like hypertension, pneumonia, sepsis, etc., then many of those cases aren't pre-existing comorbidities per se, but secondary causes of death brought on by the initial COVID diagnosis. It's a "maybe if we had a surefire way to beat down COVID earlier then these other issues would have been treatable" sorta thing.
People really shouldn't get lost in the semantic weeds about stuff like this.

A doctor/professor at Johns Hopkins wrote an article last fall claiming that the excess death number from the numbers she was getting was very low, perhaps 0. Rather than refute her perhaps bad methods or math, she was unpersoned and nobody was allowed to mention that again.

Pneumonia caused by flus(which is how flus kill people) results partially from an immune system reaction. There's a bunch of stuff that can intersect making something more or less likely to kill you.

I was pretty darn sick with the coof, yet my pulse ox stayed in the 90's every time it was checked. But it was about 10 days of nasuea, diarrhea, insomnia, fever, and cold sweats. Didn't start feeling better until I got a monoclonal antibody infusion. So for those who it makes very sick, it doesn't fuck around. Neither should they.

It's these other things that often get you by making the virus "accidentally" more lethal, not the original normal symptoms caused by a flu typically. Presumably covid-19 is relatively similar to other coronaviruses(though possibly not what with the lab stuff).

Employers are forcing it on employees, which pisses me off. I had it, I survived it, and I have antibodies. Why would I voluntarily get a vaccine which may cause a blood clot?
But the employers don't care, probably because many are likely getting a kickback or some such reward from the government.

But this vaccine thing just makes no sense. No one is asking anyone to be a guinea pig here. Hundreds of millions have taken the vaccine. They work and are as safe as any vaccine. So much misinformation out there.
All the bad things about COVID are coming back and the vaccine hesitant are to blame. The ICUs are filling up and when they can't fit any more people in, the death rate spikes. Back in early 2020 I was lambasted in here for predicting half a million deaths. I was wrong. It's worse than that and each new variant we encounter makes things worse.
I've argued with a lot of people about the vaccine. No one has a good reason not to get it. And given the ICUs are filling up almost exclusively with unvaccinated bozos, it's worth pointing that out. Get the shots. They don't hurt that bad. Everyone in my family had a fine time with them. My wife got sick from Moderna for a day and half, but the rest of us got Pfizer and it was a piece of cake.

That's true. And that's not just because of the behavior of the virus, but, more importantly, the behavior of the host immune system at the population level. I've learned a lot about this over the past few months from reading people who actually know what they're talking about.
Over the millennia of natural selection, our immune system has had virus after virus thrown at it. A delicate evolutionary balance has been achieved. Our immune system is very clever at the population level. It manages to play a type of rope-a-dope with a virus to eventually get the population to herd immunity without driving the virus to escape that immune pressure.
The result is the virus will be driven to a "nuisance state" of endemicity or complete harmlessness.
This is not easy. It's the result of a very complex, subtle, and delicate process.

Other than risking myocarditis, blood clots, or prion disease, just to name some of what's already been seen out there, sure, no reason not to get it. Unless you've already had the disease, then the "vaccine" (actually an experimental gene therapy) will actually suppress your immune response should it attempt to infect you again.

Vaccination is a personal decision and should be a personal decision based on individual factors and risk benefit calculations of THAT INDIVIDUAL AND FAMILY. It not an issue to project moral virtue on oneself for either getting or not getting the vaccine. The science, regardless of what you believe, is not settled on the issue so you have to make your choice and take your chances however you decide. And btw,I have been vaccinated for months by my own choice.

There is plenty we don't know about the vaccine, I don't know why people like you pretend you have it all figured out. No one told us about vaccine ineffectiveness after months, no one told us the vaccinated could get sick enough to go into the hospital, no one told us the vaccinated would be spreading it to others, no one said the vaccinated needed to wear a mask, etc.
There are things we do know - like it is not "as safe as any vaccine." I thought the risk was worth it for me. But we aren't even a year into these things and there are many legit questions about safety and efficacy.

There is no higher honor/validation that your science is accepted than thay, yet 6 years later our Science (tm) mouthpieces pretend it's sketchy, untested medicine. If they said this about it's use for covid 19 it would be a feasible argument, but they keep going overboard and saying it's dangerous in general.
The people pushing the vaxx are not trustworthy, and I am for people making their own chouce - not going to tell anyone what to do or not do. This is simply an explanation of why so many have decided to refuse, that this is their chosen 'the hill to die on' vs. all the silly microchip talk, etc.

1. I don't take emergency use only, experimental medicine, they ain't paying me to be a test subject so I ain't gonna be their monkey.
2. I am not in a high risk population and don't have any of the associated concomitant co-morbidities.
3. I more than likely had the virus in early 2020 and as a result have better more enduring immunity than can be conferred by the vaccine and being as I work on construction sites in all of the major hotspots, NY, NJ, CT, and PA, I rate this at 100 pct certainty.
4. The Human Immune System is real and it's spectacular and not a right wing conspiracy theory.

I fully appreciate the efforts Trump took to speed the vaccines to the market. I was always eager to take it. I think we had a perfect storm of a conservative pushing it through and a democrat making sure it was made available to all.
That said, none of the vaccines were developed by the RNC or the DNC. They are made by large pharmaceutical companies like all such things.
Say what you want. Over 90% of the people dying of COVID are unvaccinated. That is not a coincidence. States with lower vaccination rates have higher death rates. Not a coincidence.
We have morons on our side of the aisle as well. Cowards who don't want to be guinea pigs. But they are happy to let others be guinea pigs for them. I wasn't a coward. I recognized the benefits of a vaccine and I was grateful to take it.

Your statement about the unvaccinated dying from COVID is unverifiable because, sadly, the data is dirty. That alone is tragic when you consider what we could have learned from the pandemic. Instead, we had Birx, from the beginning, admitting that the data would be tainted, making an honest assessment difficult, and many years off, to correct for the errors.
Calling people cowards for not wanting to be experimented on is absurd. If I was a fool, I could say you were a coward for not wanting to contract COVID and let your immune system fight it out.
The falsehoods and emotional froth is not helping your case.
The bottom line is this: The people on this site are intelligent, informed, and are free to decide what's best for their health, considering their personal needs and circumstances. Risk management. We all do it.
The world is a complex place. Don't expect a jab to make life easy.
