National Review, Years Late (As Usual): Gee, There Seems to Be Something Wrong With Biden's Brain

Alternate title: Biden Voters Posting Their L's Online.

Jim Geraghty, Dan McLaughlin, and Andy McCarthy -- all fire-breathing liberal bourgeoisie NeverTrumpers who supported Biden for president (even if they resort to the usual NeverTrumper claim that It's not binary and that relentlessly attacking one candidate -- Trump -- is not de facto support of the only other real candidate) -- suddenly realize: Hey, there's something wrong with Biden's brain. We should look into this further!!!

Correction: A commenter says that Andy McCarthy supported Trump in 2020, and he's right.

But Andy McCarthy has also vouched for just about every Deep State schemer involved in coup attempts against Trump, too.

Jeff Weimar says that Geraghty has "questioned" Biden's cognitive ability before. Well, I don't remember that, and National Review and Geraghty are sure promoting this article as a major breaking story, so that previous "questioning" must not have been particularly strong. Certainly there were no claims that he was unfit to be president.

Certainly this is not being written as a "as I've previously reported" piece. This is being written up as important new information that must be added toe the caclulus.

Some of us added this old, old information into the calculus in 2020, but I guess only less-intelligent, disreputable analysts can successfully diagnose situations early. The very smart, reputable analysts do so too late to guide important decisions

The National Review Brain Trust is firing on all one cylinders, as usual.

Make sure you donate in their next Web-A-Thon! It's not fair to make FaceBook and Google pay for everything!

@baseballcrank

In which @jimgeraghty raises the elephant in the room regarding the oldest man ever to hold the job: Something Is Wrong with the President

Boy, it sure is lucky that you're only discovering this now. Had you achieved this obvious realization in, say, April of 2020, you might have been compelled to (reluctantly) support Donald Trump's reelection.

Sometimes ignorance is tactical.

But now the truth can be told.

Years late.

National Review, standing athwart history yelling "We'll acknowledge reality five years from now."

bidensbrain.png

Twitchy has more of this late-breaking news, which is only late-breaking if you're a Professional Thinkfluencer at the corporate toy blog National Review.

Jim Geraghty
@jimgeraghty

Biden is barely appearing in public, not saying much of anything when he does, not answering any questions outside of his lone scheduled interview, and sounding angry and indignant when he did face questions from Stephanopoulos.

Biden began the interview by insisting that the intelligence community had given him unclear answers about the state of the Afghan military and government, contradicting what he said about the intelligence on July 8.

Then during the Stephanopoulos interview, Biden insisted that he himself had predicted that the Afghan government would collapse by the end of the year: "Well, by the end of the year, I said that’s that was -- that was a real possibility."

The president either does not remember what he said on July 8, or he is simply trying to gaslight everyone into believing that he did warn of the Afghan government collapsing - the opposite of what he actually said.

"That was four days ago, five days ago!" Biden interjected.

It was two days ago, but that’s not really what is important; what is spectacularly odd is that Biden is reacting as if he thinks Stephanopolous was bringing up irrelevant ancient history.

Biden is now insisting that the chaos of a Taliban takeover was inevitable, even though he stood before the country on July 8 and specifically assured the country that the Taliban takeover was not inevitable.

Biden also insisted that, contrary to published reports, his military advisers did not recommend keeping 2,500 troops in the country. "No one said that to me, that I can recall."

There are meeting notes that can be declassified. We can see if Biden’s advisors really did urge him to keep 2,500 troops there, or if they are lying.

Or if Biden genuinely does not remember what was said and recommended to him in a meeting months ago.

The president turns 79 in November. He last released a summary of his health condition in December 2019. In May, a White House spokesman said Biden had not had a medical checkup or taken a physical this year, but that he would by the end of the year.

Back on July 26, John Ellis astutely analyzed how it was acceptable to acknowledge Biden's age and mental condition if you used certain gentle euphemisms: "He's lost a step or two." "He's lost something off his fastball."

Something is wrong with President Biden, and we are all being asked to pretend to not notice.

Hey Jim-- Biden's advanced dementia has been clear for years. His sundowning, his outbursts of anger when he can't remember a name or basic fact, his frequent confabulation of events that simply never happened -- all have been documented for years.

We noticed.

Why didn't the Biden-boosting Brain Trust at National Review?

You're claiming there's something wrong with Biden's brain.

But perhaps there's equally something wrong with yours.

And I do mean that. It is impossible not to notice that NeverTrump suffered what a psychiatrist would call a nervous breakdown or even a psychotic break in the fall of 2016.

Which they're still coping with. Still inventing new fictions to glue together their shattered reality.

For years you denied the obvious.

Now, when Biden -- a man who's been pushing to withdraw from Afghanistan since 2009 -- fails to live up to your Fantasy Image of him as a Neocon Champion, you claim he's the one with the mental problem.

All right, Jim. All right.

The first step in recovery is admitting you have a problem.

National Review

Yesterday's news, Tomorrow.

Now all the Beta Orbiters and Herd-Beasts who can only repeat what their Thought-Givers tell them to repeat will suddenly start talking up Biden's dementia.

They've been given Permission to discuss this now by the Respectable Idiots.

I'm long past thinking any of the dems give a shit about optics. Solo and Illya rescue their boss, Mr. Waverly, from Dr. Dabree's attentions.

Biden is 3/4 killed.

176 The "that was four or five days ago" reply is the kind of think you see in dementia patients.

They have trouble containing anger, and if you bring up something they do not like they consider it an attack. I am sure george stepinshit was not attacking. I think the best way I can explain it is that they are aware of their own cognitive decline, and do not want to be reminded. They are trying to train all interlocutors to never bring up negative subjects by snapping at them.

It is not so much that they can not control anger, but that they use anger as a fallback response to avoid what is happening to their brains.

187 I'm sure they noticed. It is at this point irrelevant. If Harris uses the Obama machine to invoke the 25th Amendment, Biden will have his wife, Ron Klain, and a tiny number of diehards backing him up. That's it. I doubt it will even get to the Supremes.
Posted by: trev006 at August 19, 2021 12:25 PM (pRwn1)

The 25th is trickier than most people assume. They need 2/3s majorities in both houses of Congress to invoke it if Biden tries to fight it, and Jill will ensure that happens. While a few GOP squishes might go along "for the good of the country" I can't see getting 16 without McConnell's support, and I doubt that will happen without concessions.

225 Another thought.

I think the never trumpers thought that putting a senile sociopath in the WH would not turn out bad because they were relying on the deep state to control the government. It is a tacit admission that the deep state has all the power - they think that is a good thing. Trump worked against the deep state and they knew he would make problems for them. They identify with the deep state because it is a class thing.

This is also dunning krueger. They do not know what they don't know. Organizations have executives and leaders for a reason. The guy at the top may be irrelevant most of the time, but he is the guy who is responsible and that means something.

They thought that there would be a blue wave in 2020, thanks to shitty polling. A Dem House with a stronger majority and a Dem Senate would mean that at worse they'd keep Trump neutralized for another four years, and at best Biden would be a rubber stamp to whatever Pelosi and Schumer wanted. Instead they panicked when they saw Trump's yuge, glorious coattails and stuffed the ballot boxes for Biden in order to salvage some victory. The problem now is that they are too weak in Congress to push through whatever they want, and the Biden admin is a shitshow.

Counter to their expectations, however, it turns out that it isn't working well. That's what they're pissed about - that it isn't working the way they were sure it would.

Seeing as we're so much smarter and brighter than the Sky Fairy dundaroos that make up the base that we're trying to con, America needs to import 10 million migrants over the next 4 years so that one or two of them can commentate with us and show the real wit and brevity that America is sorely lacking right now.

Also, our dearly departed brother Jonah Goldberg, who is writing amazing and hysterical takes from the always reliable Dispatch, needs a few more bulls for his wife. And to landscape his house so that it can continue to be valued at 3X the price normal people are willing to pay.

IMHO, this is thinking like we still have free and fair elections. They're waaaay past giving a shit about optics. That gives me the strong impression they know the fix is in. Forever. Look at everything they've done and are doing. They have zero qualms about demonizing half the country for any number of things. Sure, white people are terrorists, but they're also targeting the black community for vaccinations. They're purposely destroying the country and the world in broad daylight, and laughing. Their endgame is a smoldering foundation. The only way I see Biden leaving is if he simply cannot babble any longer (dementia patients do get to that point). I hope I'm wrong, not that it would make a difference in the scheme of things. But I don't think bleeding is a concern for them at all.

And by the way Fox News, isn't this what we're all pulling for?

"ultimately"

Is he just going to pretend that getting people out within the next few weeks will erase the clusterf#ck that has already occured?

There is no "ultimately" that can get tall of thos eweapons back, that can unmarry/unmolest the women and girls who have been rounded up raped and enslaved, that can unkill the Afghanis who heloed us who have been hunted down and killed, and so on.

Getting Americans home eventually is the bare minimum. Also: importing hordes of unvetted Afghans and dumping them in a flyover state will only compund the clusterf, not coun as a 'win.'

To be fair, the press softball every single democrat. I mean, how many hard questions did JEF get? And if he got one, he'd read the press the riot act. Then they'd keep coming back like a battered girlfriend. Biden has always been an egotistical idiot and a blowhard. Probably what made it even harder to tell when he started his cognitive decline. I've said before, I'm positive they're sedating him - especially when travelling. I've seen that vacant shuffle too many times, and it mostly goes away when he's up to speak. The typical dementia meds only work for so long. They enhance mood for a while, then start to have the opposite effect. I think these vacays are to adjust his internal clock and try new meds.

Biden may have always been lousy dealing with the press. But how could anyone really know? How many press conferences and long interviews did he have while first running for Senate, in subsequent election campaigns, while a Senator, and while Vice President? In his Dem nominations runs pre-2020, he turned-off caucus attendees and primary voters at hypersonic speed. COVID was a godsend to Biden's handlers, providing their prayed-for excuse to keep Joe away from voters and the press.

548 Tactical problem for the Democrats if they want to get rid of Biden.

Unless he dies, they have to use the 25th amendment. As pointed out above, that requires 2/3rds of both houses.

Assuming they can get that, then Harris becomes President and there is no VP. And there is no way to confirm a new VP without Republican's agreeing because of the the 50/50 Senate with no tie breaker.

Same problem if Harris resigns so they can install a new VP. They can't someone they want because of the 50/50 tie without a tie breaker.

Here is a likely scenario. Harris resigns, there is no replacement. Biden commits Arkancide, Pelosi becomes President.

More likely IMHO is a compromise VP. Probably a "distinguished" elder statesman who won't be seen as a threat, or a red state Dem senator.

You know, I was thinking: what WOULD it take for us to trust these fuckers?

The thing about betrayal or loss of trust whether it be in relationships with women or with other people over matters political (is there actually any difference? Still people) is that broken trust can never be completely repaired. If NRO came out, said everything. Election stolen, Dems fixed everything, Trump greatest and most maligned. Would we actually believe them? I wouldn't.

Trust is funny that way.

I was in college in the turn between Carter and Reagan and took an Econ course that proved, PROVED that it was impossible to have inflation and unemployment at the same time. Never believed a media economic statement after that again.

I still think that Pelosi would rather remain as Speaker. More power there than trying to wrangle the Fed bureaucracy with a weak Congress (and House Dems are likely to face a leadership fight if she leaves).
More likely IMHO is a compromise VP. Probably a "distinguished" elder statesman who won't be seen as a threat, or a red state Dem senator.

He's also less than a year away from not being able to comprehend time. They could literally tell him he's been in office for 4-8 years, and "X" won the election. Time to write your memoirs, Mr. President. And colleges are dying to have you speak for $500k/pop. My mother in the mid stages had no idea who was POTUS, the last one she remembered was Barky. No idea what year it was, much less month or day. Otherwise, he's going to get belligerent, and will need to be removed in other ways. Like falling down the stairs (a serious fall is also in the cards for him).

Hayes lost, but not by enough and a mess of Reconstruction states were contested. The GOP negotiated the end of military enforcement of Reconstruction for the votes. This created the Solid South that persisted to the 1970s and the disenfrachisement of Southern blacks.

639 If so-called conservatives are reading that bull (NR, The Hill, etc), no wonder they're easily led astray.
Stan definitely knows his people.

But Praise Jesus, He knows His people too.
The fact that Stan has already lost to Almighty God makes what's going on in the world a pittance;
though the images of evil are terrifying, and contemplating what's going to happen in the coming days and weeks can drive you almost crazy, especially in light of the blatant betrayals on an hourly basis, there is still a Remnant among the spirit of evil in this country.

God is so great, that He chose all of us to be here at this moment of time, to witness how He exposes evil.
He is bringing low the haughty for us to see.
And boy howdy, Biden is getting served a lifetime's worth of God's judgment, for all to see.
And we all know how Stan and his minions simply love to be exposed to the light.
Don't despair, Horde.
God's got this.

650 Like Ben shapiro, the fakes at National Review are always spinning and lying. They supported Hillary in 2016 and were defacto Biden supporters in 2020. I can show you ziliions of anti-Trump tweets and posts from the NR characters, but its hard to find any anti-Biden stuff prior to this Afghan debacle.

NR knows, as we do, that Biden was senile. It was obvious in the Spring 2020 debates. It was obvious when he refused to have press conferences, took no hostile questions, made speeches and talks to cardbord cut outs and Biden aides, and was incoherent during the debates with Trump.

In fact, if Biden had debated by the 2000 Bush-Gore rules he would've been destroyed. But the debate commission rigged the rules and let the moderators help Biden.

Yet, National Review said zero. They either attacked Trump or played Ponitus Pilate.

652 with a few exceptions, Biden was subject to almost no hostile questions from the media from Spring 2020 till now. Even his Democrat Debaters took it easy on him, or were precluded from following up and destroying him by the moderators or the other competing candidates.

Tell me all the tough intereview or townhalls Biden has held since Spring 2020? Its insane. The Media/Democrat establishment just PICKED a candidate and told the American people how great he was. Any bad news for Biden was supressed. Well, now they can't hide Biden.
