The Morning Report - 8/6/21

CuomAngl.jpg

Good morning, kids. The weekend is here and Happy Hiroshima Day! Were it not for that bomb, I might not be here today. The top story remains the impending removal of the cancer on the body politic that is Angel of Death Andrew Cuomo over his serial sexual abuse of women. His replacement will be only a temporary case of projectile colitis in the form of Lt. Gov. Kathy Hochul until an equally cancerous hardcore leftist is installed in next year's midterms. Not surprisingly, Letitia James herself looms quite large. Nothing beats angry, black, female - by chromosome or declaration - and Marxist, and with a little help from friends of the Dao-Min Yen variety, it's a lead pipe cinch.

But let's not kid ourselves. The Democrats couldn't care less about women, nor blacks nor homosexuals nor about any other "victim group" because 99.999% of the time it is their policies that made them the victims in the first place. Why do you think drug pushers give you that first dime bag for free? In any case, the reason for his removal is merely a pretext. Cuomo is a liability. His longtime allies in the Party and the media that almost always embargoes, spins and covers up all Leftist scandal exposed him. With Biden shockingly still in office despite predictions of his brain melting way before the midterms let alone 2024, and Kamala Toe tanking miserably because of the border and just general repulsiveness, arrogance and stupidity that comes through on camera despite the media filtering, do they fear that the Angel of Death might do what Teddy Kennedy did to Jimmy Carter in the 1980 race and primary the drooling tweener-groper?

More likely, the real reason is his responsibility for the death of over 15,000 elderly nursing home residents by forcing Chinese COVID infected seniors to live with them. As I and others observed, when your state's Medicare fund is all but bankrupt and the money isn't coming in to replace it, the obvious solution is a "final" one, so to speak. But informed as I and others think it is, it's still supposition. Yet 15,000 people died because of this horrendous directive, one that is such an obvious no-brainer that even a no-brainer like him with a supposed cadre of medical experts to tell him not to do it, should have seen it. And yet he didn't.

In covering the Cuomo scandals in American Greatness, Lisa Schiffren made an observation that shocked the hell out of me vis a vis the nursing home mass murders. And I didn't see it and it was right in front of me:

The national outrage at Cuomo's handsiness and bullying -- from feminists, Democratic officials, and others who have ignored Joe and Hunter's actual criminal sexual depravity -- and the expiation of sin to follow as he leaves the scene, has made it unlikely that Cuomo will ever face justice for the deliberate murder of roughly 15,000 seniors in New York nursing homes. That is a far more serious charge. Were that case to be unraveled, with evidence, in a court of law or even in a real newspaper, many people besides Cuomo would be in deep trouble. Particularly hard hit would be those for whom he acted in pursuit of unseating Donald Trump in the coming election. So that could not be allowed to happen.

Why do I think those deaths of elderly people in nursing homes were deliberate, and not just incompetence or lack of preparedness, as he has argued? Timing. In March, 2020, as COVID became an issue, the biggest problem associated with it was the lines at New York City-funded hospitals, and the start of a rising death toll. But most states still had zero or only a handful of cases. There were far too few deaths to justify shutting down businesses or schools.

Cuomo was warned about the likely consequences of doing this by, among others, worried nursing home owners, who knew that if they had to house still contagious, recovering patients, COVID would spread like wildfire through their facilities. And, he had good alternatives: President Trump had sent the Naval hospital ship USS Comfort, which remained empty throughout the pandemic, as did the Javits Center, as the elderly and vulnerable were forced to share rooms with known COVID carriers. It is hard to imagine that this was an accident. Even as the death toll began skyrocketing, Cuomo refused to reconsider the policy.

Four other Democratic governors followed suit, using the same tactic, and thousands more in New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Michigan, and California subsequently died, allowing Democrats to ramp up the fear that justified a year-long shutdown of work, schools, the economy, and allowed for election practices that enabled mass cheating.

Did Cuomo come up with this evil himself? That seems doubtful. One presumes that conversations took place, directions were given, and immunity was promised. That's my guess.

Just wow. That Andrew Cuomo, Gretchen Whitmer, Tom Wolf and Gavin Newsom would knowingly commit mass murder just to help oust a sitting president beggars the imagination. And yet that is precisely what happened. The word "evil" is bandied around here quite liberally but I just cannot find an appropriate enough description of this. It's the same soulless, sociopathic mindset that allowed and actually cheered on the Burning, Looting and Murdering of several dozen metropolitan areas across the country last summer in service of the same goal.

And let's be clear; this is not just about Trump. This is about us. That they were willing and in fact eager to murder thousands of our loved ones and then lay waste to our economy and our society should be a warning that they are going to stop at nothing to both hold on to absolute permanent power but to quite literally crush anyone who dares stand in their way.

Lots of other pretty big effin' deal news items in the mix so do have a look. I'm sure they'll jump out at you. Have a good weekend.

PS: Be sure to get your papers in order, nudge-nudge wink-wink.

Me, a month ago in The Morning Report - 7/2/21:

We discussed this briefly a few days ago. It's such a horrible understanding that your brain won't let you examine it easily. Your brain will try to distract you, or try to rationalize it somehow with "Oh, they didn't know" or "They were trying to help." It's because it's so unpleasant to acknowledge the truth.

They took those actions regarding treatment specifically to kill people, destroy small businesses, stunt the academic growth of 75% of an entire generation of children, wreck the economy, and remove capitalism (and an accidental pro-US, pro-capitalism, pro-freedom president) from the US.

They knew about HCQ and Ivermectin. Doctors who had success with the drugs tried to contact Fauci and tried to spread the word but they were ignored and/or outright censored and punished.

They did it on purpose. Your brain is trying to look away when you read that, isn't it? But it's true.

They did it on purpose.

Knowing what I know, seeing what I've seen from these evil, execrable people, I'd be a fool to not believe there was a plan and that plan involved mass death. Is it any wonder why that Rachel Levine "thing", now the assistant secretary at HHS, removed its own mother from her nursing home facility in PA? She knew what was planned.

It will be interesting to see how rural counties handle it, even in pro-lockdown governor states like NC.

Other than black residents who are still terrified and wearing masks and plastic face shields, rural counties in the central and western part of the state are DONE with masks and lockdown bullsh*t, with schools listening to the residents and making masks a fashion statement available to students but not required in school.

It will be neat to watch what happens when the Democrats in Raleigh (or other applicable locations) try it again.

Oh, I don't know about that at all. I think this is, if anything, an optimistic prediction for the "Cuomo Resigns" path. This is a time of ascent and consolidation for the Left. Cuomo's replacement if he resigns will not be equally cancerous. His replacement will be far, far worse. The Maoists (largely, the Obama/Biden camp) will pick up a fairly powerful state governorship, taking that position away from the gangsters.

43 Cuomo has a chance to be a kind of perverse hero. He could refuse to resign and directly challenge the democrat hierarchy, callout Biden as a serial molester and deranged danger to the Republic. In an alternate universe, of course. In that Bulworth universe, Cuomo could convert to evangelistic conservative, admit his sins and hubris, and go scorched earth on the Communists. But alas we live in heartless and imagination-deprived times.

Nah, not really. The article for this one was fine, on the theme of "all problems for the Left are identity-related, everything is centered on human social structure and the powerful people on the Left are, oddly, never wrong."

Fair enough. That's largely true, but the focus is a bit incorrect. The Left don't want to "hate their way out of" *anything.* The Left hates it way *into* things. And they're fully focused on hating their way into a future of absolute control.

62 The dropping of the bomb surely saved a lot of American lives. It saved more Japanese lives. Japan was dissolving in real-time before the bombs fell, but would likely have held on for months to come, possibly all the way through the winter of 45-46.

And all the while, her armies would have been ground under by the Soviets in the north and the Americans in the south. Her civilians would have starved and frozen. The Japanese were finished, and the body count would likely have been astronomical. The postwar conditions would have been far worse, with Japan divided like Korea became.

But none of that matters. There is a strong humanitarian argument to be made for the bomb, but it is in my opinion secondary. The bombs ended the war, saved American blood and completed the retribution against Japan. Those things - especially the salvation of our men - justify it on its own. Even if the war hadn't ended promptly, it would have been justified.

Probably from Italy. They had high very death rates early on and the overwhmelng majority were the elderly, but you had to dive into the data to get that. Which most people won't do.

That's a great observation.

That would be fun in sports and car entries. "If Notre Dame didn't lose each and every time they'd been in the college football playoffs they'd have multiple national championships, with another coming in 2021"

74 Did Cuomo come up with this evil himself? That seems doubtful. One presumes that conversations took place, directions were given, and immunity was promised. That's my guess.
++++
This strikes me as disingenuous, because we know the answer to this one. The medical and hospital lobbies wrote the EO that shunted COVID patients back into cheap nursing homes and out of expensive hospitals. We know this because the EOs across multiple states were nearly identical. We know this also because we know that Ron DeSantis refused to sign the EO that had been drafted for him by the medical lobby in Florida.

Did Cuomo deliberately murder people? No, I don't think so. This was probably closer to "depraved indifference" or something similar. And he certainly didn't act alone.

But it kept Nunes from ridiculing the Russian collusion nonsense and pursuing campaign irregularities by the donks. Can anyone imagine Pelosi rubber stamping similar treatment for Adam Schiff? It was an interesting conclusion I came to a day or so ago. Mask theater here in upstate SC was about 99% during the high tide of panic for most of 2020. Then magically, it started to drop off quickly. I'd put mask theater at about 1% now. At first, I associated it with everyone around me feeling comfortable because they've had their "vaccine" shots. But SC's actual stats for fully vaccinated are less than 45% for the entire state, ages 12+. Those with only 1 shot so far is only at 51%.

It tells me people are sick and tired of mask theater, regardless of vaccine status.

Usually nothing. Circuitry kicks in to cut off load, and the containers that hold the batteries are very strong. The batteries themselves are actually fairly small, so the cross-section for rupture isn't all that big.

But when something does go wrong and there is a rupture and they catch fire, the accident immediately becomes an inferno. Lithium burns like a son of a bitch and it can't be put out with traditional means. About 20 years ago, Silicon Valley started retraining their fire crews - and re-equipping them with new chemicals and equipment - to deal with it (they were leading-edge on cars with big lithium battery complexes).

Which should have led to lawsuits and massive payouts. Checkpoints are technically allowed. They shouldn't be, but they are because the SCOTUS did a lot of mental gymnastics to justify why DUI checkpoints weren't a flagrant violation of due process. One of the moves in that gymnastics routine is that checkpoints must be clearly marked, and that there must be an opportunity to exit or bypass the checkpoint, and that a motorist choosing to exit, turn back, bypass or otherwise avoid the checkpoint was *not* reasonable suspicion.

The number of GOP non numbnuts is a very small number. I have to admit that the level of apparent support of traitorous cocksuckers and cunts like Kinzinger and Cheney immediately after a successful administration was a level of Patterico cranial/rectal merging that was very unexpected. It was like the Bush Crime Family not pretending they were dismantling every fucking bit of what Reagan put in place.

Only a Marcus T strategy of primarying every fucking RINO into oblivion will extricate us from this shit. Maybe...

If it was a hoax, then it wouldn't have been around at all. He called the response a hoax, and he was right. He was also right about it being gone by spring. The only thing that kept it around was testing that can't tell covid from SARS or the flu, which the CDC admitted.

144 You have to wonder what did Trump see behind the curtain after he was elected? Even before he took the oath of office the deep state was at work behind the scenes and as we all know they tried desperately for the duration of his presidency and even afterwards to put him away. I imagine he hasn't talked about it because the threats are significant. What does he know? I suspect it's pretty bad.

So, I'm really not all that surprised if several state governors killed 10's of thousands of elderly people in an attempt to drum up fear and keep the general population preoccupied. They also know it's pretty bad.

No, pretety sure defended him. She's his top aide (not his secretary as in 'administrative assistance'), so she is very influential in his office. It just happens that her family's business is lobbying -- and it just so happens that the March 2020 policy of dumping covid patients in nursing homes, and then exempting nusing home executives from lawsuits over the subsequent covid deaths, specifically benefitted daddy's big client, the Greater NY Hopsitals Association.

There are other sweet deals, they have forged a tight relationship between Cuomo and the GNYHA, including those that allow them to make big contributions to Cuomo and hide them (so the influence is less detectible).

I didn't know cats would get that way. Dogs definitely will. I had a special bowl with knobs that made it take a while for the dog to get the food. Also used a kong with food inside. Eating was a game that entertained him. The other dog was an all-day grazer like a cat so she had her bowl in another place. This worked only because she ended up being the "alpha" and the fast eater wouldn't mess with her bowl. She would also take single pieces of kibble out of her bowl and "hide" them in various places. "Hiding" meant putting it down and then making "cover with dirt" motions with her snout.

As regulations have tilted the playing field to favor big business, we're almost at at point of being a curated oligopoly, where politicians choose winners and lovers in business, who then finance their political patrons.

Monopoly and Oligopoly are utterly destructive to market freedom, and should be prevented. When you're the only game in town, or the customer no longer has a meaningful choice (Apple or Google, ATT or Verizon, etc.), you don't have to be good.

So, on Hisense, they are running a new ad with NBA star Dwayne Wade. It fascinates me not because of its absurdity or anything else (it's a weird ad in my opinion), but because there's a shot in it where Wade is standing by a TV set and talks about "all these great features" - but the features aren't shown, nor is there text about them, nor are they discussed. It's sort of like, "great features are there, but we're not telling you what they are. Just trust me about it."

Closer to two hours, probably. That doesn't get you a full charge, but it gets you to 80% or so, and another 200 or 250 miles or so.

It's also hell on the battery chemistry. Slow-charging is much better for the batteries, but it won't work in that context. Long hauls with lots of fast charging will seriously reduce battery life if you make a habit of it.

It's one thing to come up with a good sounding argument you can get half of everyone to believe (by omitting pertinent details like 'there's another body involved'), but it's quite another to not even BELIEVE that one has a choice with one's own body while doing it. That's a level of deception I can't even get my head around.

that is the link ... you can jump to the conclusion toward the end. ... From a cursory reading, people that get the vaccine will have little (?) benefit after six months. AND the bad part is as the vaccine "wanes", those that have covid at that point might be "breeding resistance" (my term). So only adapted virus survives, making what they spread while infected more immune to the vaccines, till vaccines are worthless (and no herd immunity ever on that path).

312 >>If it saves one child

One of the most frustrating thing about this 18 months of covid panic porn is the insistence that we all equally need to be concerned covid will kill us. OK, new variation is demonising the unvaxxed, but still. The mostly ignore that the deaths are primarily in th over 70 demographic, and typically with comorbities. For under 70, a significant number are obese and have comorbidities. There are the freaky cases where it will kill a young healthy person (thinking of that poor Broadway dude who lingered in the hospital for months w/all sorts of complications before dying), but these are anomolies.

They are not pushing preventative measures people could have taken immediately, including: losing weight, working out, taking vitamin D and getting it via sunshine exposure. No, we have to pretend that we must sit at home, isolated, depressed, and fear getting covid equally -- as if if it could kill anyone at any minute despite vast variations in who the virus affects the most.

At my old office, the converted the four best spaces in the parking lot to charging stations. They were free of charge. You had to go register with the building manager and get a card to activate them. The EV drivers loved it.

Then, about a year later, they weren't free anymore. You had to pay, and you had to pay by the kilowatt hour and a setup fee (I assume the setup fee was to offset the cost of the equipment - it was like a buck or something to plug it in), and the electricity was billed at the commercial daytime rate as a pass-through by the building management company (they offered it at cost).

The EV drivers were less happy about that. They were used to topping up at work for free and not having to do so at home where the meter was running.

350 They knew about HCQ and Ivermectin. Doctors who had success with the drugs tried to contact Fauci and tried to spread the word but they were ignored and/or outright censored and punished.
____________

That's apparently because federal regulations say that experimental vaccines can't be granted government approval for widespread usage unless there are no effective treatments available for the disease the vaccine targets.

So if Fauci and the CDC admitted that ivermectin and HCQ work as treatments for the China virus, that would have meant that Big Pharma could not get EUA for their vaccines, and then they would not have raked in the BILLIONS of dollars that these vaccines have generated for them.

As always, follow the money.

If youve had close contact with someone who has COVID-19, you should get tested 3-5 days after your exposure, even if you dont have symptoms. "In the face of revised CDC guidance advising even fully vaccinated people to wear masks indoors, Denver announced that it would not even issue a new mask mandate, trusting businesses and individuals to do what was best for them.

Why the change? The overall political climate surrounding the virus has changed, and the effects of that change are exacerbated by factors specific to Denver.

According to his own Department of Finance, in the Budget Kickoff briefing given to the City Council's Finance and Governance Committee back in April, small business in the Denver metro area has been devastated, with the total number of small businesses operating down 30%, and the entry-level-friendly Leisure and Hospitality Sector down over 40%."

Kids will recover and have durable resistance, probably won't even notice they were infected.

Better yet, give all healthy people an "attenuated covid" so they get durable immunity, and are unlikely to get seriously ill. (idk how to make an attenuated ... leas deadly ... version of the virus, but that seems to be a doable practice)

As it will everywhere. I suspect they're going to work around this through smart metering or cost tranches or both.

Smart metering: The charger has to check in with the utility before it turns itself on. If the grid is under pressure, it won't activate.

Cost tranches: Charge during high demand, pay 3x more per kilowatt hour.

Or both, of course. "We won't proceed. If you want to override that, authorize this massive surcharge."

Our refining also has a gasoline preference, in part because we need a lot of it. There is *some* flexibility in terms of how much gas or diesel you can get out of a barrel, and we try to squeeze more gas out. I suspect a lot of the other stuff that goes into diesel - sulfur reduction, detergents, etc. - also influence cost.

But I dunno. I know diesel is cheaper in other countries, though, which makes me think that there are a ton of factors - probably not all of them natural - making it pricey here.

The record for a gas powered car is 26 *HOURS*

418 Prediction: I think Power play by Speaker Pelosi. Polling looks bad for her to hold the House speaker position. So get Harris to resign or get rid of her, Pelosi is now VP. She has until 2024 so she gets an extension on her time in DC as a power player. Joe dies or we start seeing lots of evidence of his ineptitude leaked by her and her staff. He steps down. Voila first Female president.

What would be proof of divine intervention:

Kamala gets bounced, Joe gets bounced, Pelosi is about to be sworn in before a new Speaker and VP are picked... and strokes out the moment she puts her hand on the Bible.

421 408 "Just wait until the variants start killing 2, 3, 5, 10%. Imagine the panic then. That's what their "vaccine" is doing"

From what I read, mass vaccination "drives a rapid evolutionary response", but I did not see if that response makes it more deadly, or just fully resistant to the vaccines. (not saying you are wrong, but curious if you have seen that research somewhere)

From what I understand, the vaccinations plus the lockdowns actually prevent HERD IMMUNITY from naturally killing off the variant.

This is insanity for political gain.

422 156 Does anyone have any experience with those automatic cat feeders that dole some out periodically from a big hopper? Do they work well?

Posted by: Joe Mannix (Not a cop!) at August 06, 2021 07:27 AM (Jsjd7)

I had good luck with mine. I've since switched to 2 daily feedings with a mix of wet and dry food. On a side note: for multiple pet households, these Surefeed chip/collar-controlled feeders are awesome (but kinda pricey):

If they were serious about EVs (SPOILER: they aren't) as anything more than a wealth signaling plaything for Our Betters -

right now, they would be building multiple nuclear power plants in every state as part of an actual real "infrastructure" bill.

Preezy Booger-Eater could even use his Magical ExtraConstitutional Powers to get it done.

But, they aren't....so -

Coming in a year or two in California: Frequent summertime edicts to not charge your EV from 6am to 6pm, or all day, so air conditioners can be operated, and brownouts or blackouts in LA county will not happen

Or First Birthing Person President!

427 "From what I understand, the vaccinations plus the lockdowns actually prevent HERD IMMUNITY from naturally killing off the variant." Posted by: J.J. Sefton

yes. ... I'm just not sure if the "mutated" virus (resistant to the vaccines) would be more deadly, or just more virulent. Maybe both, because as it adapts, it might also attain resistance to "natural immunity" that most people already have (from previous covids, or whatever).

In any case, (real, censored) experts are saying mass vaccination is the wrong path in this case ... (and low risk from one vaccination shot becomes higher risk if they are three times a year forever, which only "breeds" a "stronger" virus?)

428 Greetings:

Re: Happy Hiroshima Day

Last evening, in trying to avoid the Olympics, I channel surfed into an NHK segment about the aforementioned activities in Japan. As the passage of time whittles down the number of grannies available, actions are being taken to train up a new generation of grannies who missed the actual bombings but who are willing to rehash the memories of those who did ad infinitum.

And once again this year, it appears that the Manila and Nanking grannies didn't receive their invitations.

429 Just wow. That Andrew Cuomo, Gretchen Whitmer, Tom Wolf and Gavin Newsom would knowingly commit mass murder just to help oust a sitting president beggars the imagination. And yet that is precisely what happened.

Ummm... that's what I thought all along.

433 Of course there was witness coercion in the Floyd case. The only nit I have with the good Doctor's analysis of Mitchel's interview memorandum was this:
"Mitchell-- Autopsy pretty complete but noted Baker did not perfom a layered posterior neck dissection".
Dr. Dunn shows an anterior layered neck dissection took place but not a posterior layered neck dissection took place. It would've been nice if he at least explained if it had taken place or if it wasn't important given the rest of the evidence, although a posterior dissection of the muscles took place.
