Kevin Clinesmith, the Corrupt FBI Lawyer Who Forged Documents to Frame an Innocent Man, May Get His Law License Back on July 19

A Ruling Class judge first gave this corrupt government official, who forged a document in order to frame a man, then entered that forgery into evidence in a FISA hearing, no jail time at all.

The judge's excuse? Well, this criminal lost his job. And might lose his law license. Isn't that punishment enough?

"[He] lost his job, and his government service is what has given his life much of its meaning," Boasberg said Friday. "He was also earning $150,000 a year and who knows where the earnings go now. He may be disbarred or suspended from the practice of law, you may never be able to work in the national security field again. These are substantial penalties."

I think the average street criminal would be surprised to learn that losing your job due to a crime, and maybe losing your Ruling Class Credential of a law license, is punishment enough.

And now -- about that losing his law license part.

He lost it for just one year. The suspension is dated retroactively to August 2020.

And now he'll petition to have it reinstated.

The Government Clique really looks out for its own, doesn't it?

Former FBI lawyer Kevin Clinesmith has agreed to a one-year suspension of his attorney license in Washington, D.C., following his conviction in August 2020 on a felony false-statement charge arising from the internal review of the special counsel's Russia investigation, new bar records show.
Clinesmith and his lawyers at Lathrop GPM signed a negotiated discipline with the District of Columbia office of disciplinary counsel on June 11 that set out the proposed suspension.
A hearing committee of the District of Columbia Board on Professional Responsibility is expected to take up the proposal at a public hearing on July 19.

Why should anyone feel any moral obligation to obey the "laws" of the United States?

The Ruling Class obviously doesn't. Aren't they always demanding that we aspire to be like them?

Correction: I thought that that this decision was just revealed, having been made in the past.

That's not true. The decision was just reached. They've decided to date the suspension back to August 2020, meaning that Clinesmith's suspension will be... for about a month.

No jailtime. License suspended for a month.

No reason whatsoever. I do not view being lawful as the "right thing" anymore, and I haven't for a while. I follow laws because I don't want to be punished, but not because it's the right thing to do. If anything, the morality has inverted and following any law that isn't directly traceable to one of the Ten Commandments is the moral problem.

There are practical reasons that I no longer call myself a "law-abiding citizen" (namely, that I probably am not one, since everyone is a crook thanks to our perverse and contradictory legal code), and there are also moral reasons: being "law-abiding" is meaningless.

I go with "peaceable citizen" now. Much better reflection of reality, and I don't give moral endorsement to the law. The law has lost any moral authority it once might have had.

Oh the judge dismissed the case against the Bundy ranchers, which the DOJ then appealed on the grounds that lying to the Court openly was just fine.

What I mean is that nothing happened to the people who did the wrong things. Try entering falsified evidence in a civil trial and see what happens to your law license when you're caught.

Same here, I used to be 100% death penalty. But those fells acres ritual child abuse trials changed my mind. If you can convict people with ZERO evidence and sentence them to 20+ years in prison based on "recovered memories" that are all later recanted, we have a huge problem. IIANM, a few years ago someone demonstrated how to make a Garand fire repeatedly by wrapping a shoestring around the trigger guard. ATF ruled that if used in that way, a piece of string constituted a machine gun subject to NFA.
