The Morning Report - 5/24/21

Good morning kids. Monday and with the ceasefire evidently holding between Israel and the terrorists, the focus returns to the land of the freebie and the home of the enslaved. That being us. Along with hypocrisy, one of the prime traits of Democrats and Leftists is projection. Every crime, outrage and evil throughout our history (now concluded) that they have blamed us for, is in point of fact what they have inflicted or intend to inflict on us. It is an article of faith that America's cities are pockets of sanity, tolerance, enlightenment and civilization amidst an ocean of Bible-thumping, inbred, redneck, white supremacist racism that is "flyover country."

In the wake of the latest round of madness out of Gaza, American Jews in this country have been assaulted and threatened. No, not out in the wilds of Deliverance country or up in the Idaho Bitterroots, but last week in Los Angeles and now, over the weekend in Brooklyn. Right in the neighborhood where I grew up and felt absolutely safe and about the furthest away from any kind of serious threat against me and my co-religionists. That is, until now.

The New York Police Department (NYPD) received a report Saturday night that an 18-year-old and 17-year-old were walking near Ocean Parkway in Brooklyn when they were approached by "two unidentified males who demanded that the victims repeat anti-Jewish statements."

The 18-year-old victim's father spoke to the Daily Caller under the condition of anonymity and said his son and nephew were told to chant "Free Palestine," but refused to do so. The teens, who the father said were both wearing their yarmulkes, refused and were immediately assaulted, according to police. Both victims were punched in the head and the 17-year-old was placed in a chokehold, police said.

As the victims attempted to flee, police said they were chased by an assailant "brandishing a baseball bat." The victim's father told the Daily Caller an unidentified ride share driver saw the incident unfolding and offered the boys a ride...

"You know what's amazing, how few elected officials in New York have spoken out on this. You have case after case of people being beaten up. How few Democratic elected officials have spoken out."

There's a reason why so few Democrats have spoken out about this; because their party and much of its base is not only rabidly anti-American but rabidly anti-Semitic. In point of fact, they go hand in hand for a whole host of reasons. The closest Chuck "Cuck Schemer" Schumer comes to being a Jew is a plate of matzo ball soup at a Passover seder. He and the other old bull Democrats are now trying to triangulate within their own party to save their political necks by not going against the freak-show of the Bro-Fo Omar/Nur/Burqawitz/Ikeelyou contingent. Especially Titty Caca Ocasio Cortez who has a hate on for the Yids every bit as lit as her friends in the Squad. And if Eliot Engel can get primaried by Jamal Bowman, Schumer might actually be in for a real fight. Gillibrand for sure would be (white) toast.

Brad Sherman has surprisingly been brave enough, or perhaps foolish enough, to openly opposed the move to prevent Israel from that arms package as well as stating Dems who don't support Israel "don't really have an understanding" of the history. Oh boy, that is going to get a reaction. He's either really stupid or perhaps knows his seat is fairly safe; suffice it to say the socio-economic factors of his constituents are quite different from that of Titty Caca's. But, I'm getting into the weeds here.

We've imported alien, violent cultures and people, legally and illegally, into this country for nearly 60 years who for the most part have not assimilated into the American culture, and in some cases have a hate on for it, while at the same time, we've brainwashed several generations of our own children into hating the nation they were born into and are working with our enemies to destroy it. It is only a matter of time that the thuggery that turned several dozen urban areas into Dresden '45, and that is now evidently being turned on Jews because "occupation" "diamond merchants" and "white interlopers" will be turned on the rest of normal, decent American society because "anti-vaxxer science denier" "white privilege" and "Trump supporter."

Look what's going on with the police and now military. Yes, the danger to our national security for having soldiers more prepared to fight climate change while tucking their junk inside their BDU and their feet into stiletto heels instead of boots is serious. But what's more serious is their being indoctrinated and trained to turn their weapons not on the Chi-Coms, Russkies, NorKs or Islamos, but on the next Ashli Babbitt. At some point the BLaM-tifa and Muslim street thugs are going to outlive their usefulness to the Junta. And who do you think is going to replace them?

24 I went to one of the Indian Casinos yesterday and the cure has arrived. No more masks, no giant bottles of hand sanitizer at the door, like nothing happened (except now no smoking). Anyway, I was feeding a slot machine, and a fellow geezer two machines away commented on the back to normal. And then some old gal walks by with the black mask on. Old geezer looks at her, shakes his head and mutters "fucking nut". As to the no smoking,I'm sure they couldn't care less about my health but bean counting figured they'll save a buck on housekeeping and machine maintenance.

it's SORT of lifted in VA now, assuming you're vaccinated. I'm not, but figure i'll lie about it if asked. was interesting. on Saturday, I found myself at Lowes and was one of the few people without a mask. busy store.

Sunday, needed different garden supplies and went to a home depot about 8 miles away, i'm pretty much directly between them, and there were only a small handful of people WEARING masks.

it was a very interesting switch between stores and days.

I did some shopping on Saturday to get my house ready for a large number of guests and to pick up some little household items I need. I went to four stores that are known for their Karen concentrations: Costco, Cost Plus World Market, Bed, Bath, Beyond and another housewares megastore.

Costco had maybe a third of people masked. Cost Plus had *one* family masked, everyone else - including most of the staff - were normal. 3B was the odd man out in that I was the only normal person there. The housewares megastore was about 50/50. Four or five weeks ago (the last time I made a similar trip), I was in a tiny minority of the unmasked.

We're past the knee of the curve. It's over, at least in my area.

What I find distressing is what the number of unmasked implies. These people stripping the damn things means they weren't enthusiastic about it - and likely didn't believe it - a long time ago. They were waiting for permission, looking to avoid any confrontation. Now that the permission is there courtesy of the CDC reading tea leaves, detecting a growing preference change and pretending to lead, they are all stripping down.

That's somewhat distressing. I am still pleased that it's basically over, but if those same people hadn't waited for permission, it likely would have been over six months ago.

A large part of it has to do with testing. Fewer people are testing, and fewer cycles are being run on the PCR tests.

To pull off something like Nuremberg, you have to have defeated the enemy. We have not defeated communism. We did defeat the Nazis and we did defeat Imperial Japan. The victor was unquestioned and absolute in a way that is historically significant for its rarity. Total, existential war followed by abject, unconditional surrender and victory is exceedingly rare.

Without unconditional, unquestioned victory followed by a total military occupation and essentially colonial administration, you can't have something like Nuremberg. It won't work, because it doesn't have a mandate.

Most stores - both corporate and, more distressingly, private are still requiring masks. Looks like about half the bars and restaurants dropped the requirement. Lots of them putting their regular outdoor seating (no Six Foot Shield of Invincibility!) back in place. No more of those dehumanizing sidewalk tents.

In the stores that dropped the face diaper mandate, such as Krogers, it's running about 50-50 unmasked, employees included.

I have been tempted to build an AI-driven online application for exactly this kind of thing. Discrimination on the basis of education is absolutely, flatly legal. I imagine a service that will ingest candidate resumes, identify colleges and time periods and extracurriculars and publications. It then checks those things against news databases, school newspapers, etc. to see what has been going on at those schools during the period of attendance, as well as the clubs, organizations, etc. Pop out a wokeness risk score and use it as a gatekeeping mechanism.

I imagine you might be able to make some money in the niche market of actual businesses.

this has always one of my BIG issues. it's just a TINY BIT OF CRITICAL THINKING to figure out what does and doesn't matter. just the fact that you could go out and eat without a mask but had to wear one to get to your table made a big deal.

and the face shield... don't get me started on that. the fact that a welders mask, same concept, needs forced ventilation when dealing with hazardous fumes should tell you EVERYTHING you need about the effectivity of that plastic face shield to airborne contaminants...

Heh. Often the case. There are only three browsers. There's Chromium (of which Chrome is the biggest), Gecko/Mozilla (of which Firefox is the biggest) and WebKit (Safari) - and WebKit and Chrome used to be analogous before they split up some time ago.

Think bigger. We're not viewing the decline of a nation (well, we are, but it is also just a symptom), but the crackup of the entire world structure and order.

From what I've seen, the chances of a bad reaction to a vaccine are higher than a bad reaction to covid.
They are currently hyping "covid is rising among kids" without the other part, that something worse than a flu-like reaction to covid is rare among kids. Funny how cases are on the rise just as the kiddie vaccine comes out. One might think this is to scare parents?

These are obviously worse case examples (and every vaccine will have complications), but still. . . yikes.

I'll say this. Myocarditis was a side effect of the virus as well. Far too many people accept the notion of historical determinism where everything that occurs is by destiny. In my opinion, that is bunk as there are plenty of examples in history that contradict that thesis.

VDH is a military historian by trade which focuses on armed conflict, not someone who is familiar with modern authoritarianism and peaceful resistance via social movements.
More fruitful inquiry as to what should be done would focus on modern movements like Solidarity in Poland, resistance against the Colonel's coup in Greece, against the leftist military junta in Portugal after Salazar, and so on. The only problem is that most of the scholars investigating such issues are generally from the Left as is most of academia.

Thanks to Legal Insurrection I've watched the administration at Cornell try to walk a fine line of keeping some small grip on the situation, but constantly trying not to provoke the craziest far lefties. Some stores have removed signs ("official" day is 2 June, I think). No businesses seem to be enforcing things. 50-60% customers seem to remain compliant, but no comments from staff of other customers as Mrs IMG and I roam mask-free. Some places are more like 10% (gas station convenience stores, for example).

Went to a Minor League baseball game Fri (Little League outing). Still doing pod seating. No masks when seated. Saw many maskless going to concessions. Cops present but not hassling anyone.
